Prattling ones that reverberated in his very mind. Like a shadow stretching forth, he stepped out from that darkness. His silhouetted form reaching the light of day, as he took an easy stride. The echoing words of that captain, breached him even now. "Aevus." Lumina's eyes fell over him once again. "You should relax tonight, maybe spend time with your pack." Her words lulled gently like a tender mother addressing a child but he would sigh. The heat from his meeting with the Captain still burned over him and Lumina felt it. She had always felt his emotions. It stirred ice in her world. Freezing the waters, the very trees. Slowly succumbing the air to an icy breath. She shivered from that cold. "You mustn't let the weight of that exchange deter you. Lingering thoughts of self doubt and fear should not absolve you of your decision. You carve your own fate, Aevus." That didn't fail to strike a cord. His eyes were but half full as he replied. "Lumina I-." He would hear the low rumbling of a growl echo within him. The moonlit eyed wolf didn't need to say anymore, there was no arguing with her at least not now. "It'll be my last night." As he walked, his eyes would trail off the beaten path, to a small canopy of trees, that stretched out before him. Settling his thoughts the man would begin to scan the horizon, his sapphiric gaze sheltering the very form of a Mockingbird. It seemed to swoon as it dove into the ravaged copse beneath its feathered being. A forlorn silver lined gaze sheltered itself within him as his cold eyes followed the mimicking avian. Freedom was a desire of the wolf spirit and he felt that want the same way he felt the heat beating against his very back. He also understood it, yet he had grown accustomed to being a dog to his superiors. But in truth he loathed it. Maybe he wasn't meant for this job after all. He would sigh. The reaper was so sure of himself. His eyes narrowed upon that golden visage with a strengthened resolve like no other. Yet that older wolf, he had pierced him without even drawing his Zanpakuto. "Carve my own fate" He repeated in a soft whisper as he walked the streets. Taking his time he would return back to squad two's barracks. He had strayed for a time, so night already had began taking its reign over the sky. As he neared, he could overhear a band of merrymakers making a commotion inside. It had seemed a small group of his squad had happened upon a bottle of sake and decided to get tipsy. Oh the integrity of Shinigami. He guessed the clown wouldn't have liked seeing this. But he clearly wasn't Harle nor was he Kisala. Seeing how neither of them were anywhere in sight, meant he was in charge. Lucky drunks. He stayed back watching the merriment from outside that folding door. They seemed almost like a family of sorts and it was well kind of nice to say the least. It didn't take long until one took notice of him. "Th-thirrrrd seeeeat?!" Panic arose immediately. In an attempt to run they would fumble over themselves swearing all the while. One even went so far to hide the sake behind his back. The three would stop standing up straight in a cluttered single file line. Aevus would look at them skeptically for a moment before perking a lukewarm grin. “What's wrong? you don't want to share?” Fear immediately turned to shock and with shock came drunken smiles. "No-No of-of course not!" "Join us!" "Thir-Third S-Seat! Nestling neatly next to the wall with his Zanpakuto resting on his shoulder the Shinigami would make himself comfortable. He wasn’t one to drink but tonight was an exception, he needed it. As one of the Shinigami poured him a cup of sake he would take it with a feigned smile. “I really shouldn't but-” Pausing he would take but a sip. It tasted dry, bitter but it had a kick and in time it soothed him. He watched with a calming gaze as the men around him danced and sang. Telling far fetched stories of besting enormous hollows. How one peaked on Harle changing one day and actually saw what was underneath that clown makeup. He would chuckle lightly remembering an old drunken codger's sea shanties. If only he remembered the words. Heh well even if he did, he was no singer. He'd probably make all of squad 2 deaf. It had been a long time since he had seen that old man. His memories of Stray Dog weren't all terrible he supposed. After all those were his first memories. Like the old man it seemed drinking had also let him falter away from his worries and his responsibilities. Allowing him to escape from his own negative thoughts if only for a time. Aevus would raise his cup causing the room to deafen once more. “Another” ~ Some time later ~ “An-Another!” Aevus would raise his cup with a shaky hand. He had lost count after the third and everyone else was already passed out on the floor. Deciding to sober up, he would leave the room to get a little air. Well not before pouring him one more drink. Stepping outside he would stumble catching himself on one of the pillars. Making himself steady he would slide down the pillar. His cheeks were a bit flushed and his tired gaze would sink. For a time the silver lined eyes of the wolf would pass over him, murmuring gently to him. “What was in that drink?” She’d ask. “A very fine poison.” Aevus would whisper under his sake stained breath. “A fine poison indeed.” He would manage before hiccupping. Lumina would giggle at that. “It's made you rather silly.” Aevus would shake his head. “Silly?” Hiccup. “Wha-what do you mean s-silly?” The wolf would find herself giggling once more causing Aevus to chuckle along with her. “Lumina would very much like to try this poison of yours.” The soft breeze found itself sifting through his dark hairs and he would sense something astray. There was a longing in her voice, if ever so faint yet he still picked up on it. “Maybe one day you-” But he’d be interrupted, not by a hiccup but something else entirely. His eyes would widen and light up in an instant. A breeze sifted through his darkly hairs as he sat up. Watching thoroughly as the wind fell against a coat sheen of silvery white. His cold eyes followed a bushy tail that flickered and next his gaze would run along dark markings that ran up a lupine form. Moonlit eyes would catch the fainted touch of light as the wolf lapped at the sake in his cup. "It's bitter!" The wolf fell away from the cup, shaking its head in disgust. Shock would soon fall over the Shinigami as he stared at the white wolf. "Ick...this one doesn't like your poison Aevus." Aevus sat there in awe, his eyes drifting over the white wolf completely frozen. "Lumina..." It was her, it was Lumina. Aevus would blink slack jawed but there she was, standing before him. An alabaster silhouette with eyes dripping of moonlight. "Mhm?" Lumina would blink, settling on her haunches. "What is it?" staring at him perplexed, she would crook her head. "Y-You're free..." Aevus would manage in but a whisper. “That Lumina is.” Silence fell over the two for a time. The night stirred, blanketing them in shadow. The cool air blew brilliantly through the wolf’s sheen coat as she eyed the reaper with moonlit eyes. “...free” Lumina would repeat as if it was word she needed to try. Eyes widened as if she finally realized the weight of those words. She was free. She was free. “This one is free!” Lumina would burst out in joy. All of her weight fell against the wooden floor boards as she began to bounce around in glee. “Free!” She jumped into the yard. Prancing around gallantly in the grass as if she was a love-struck child. “Aevus!?” She would turn back to him, her tail wagging like a ceaseless pendulum. The very wind sifted through her fine wintry furs as she gazed back towards the reaper. “This one is free.” Her voice cracked at that, her eyes looming with excitement. Aevus hugged the pillar as he steadily rose to his sandaled feet. "You are..." Lumina would tackle into the Shinigami, causing the drunk Reaper to crash against the wooden boards of the porch. "Lumina is!" As she crashed into him her form would change. Erupting in a show of silvery light. A lithe curvaceous body would fall against him. Her back arched as her tail swayed back and forth. Small fingers outstretched, now clenched tightly against his robe. A soft chest would press against him as a familiar yet new face painted a genuine smile. White tufted ears twitched as she gazed down upon the Shinigami with silver lined irises. He laid there staring into those two moons, a look of surprise crafting neatly against drunken features. The spirit was overjoyed, he could feel her trembling as she nuzzled against him. “Aevus?” Lumina would rise, her naked features glowing brilliantly in the moonlight. Like a deer in headlights Aevus was at a loss of words. The girl before him looked so familiar yet he couldn’t put a name to the face. Like a distant memory that he couldn't quite grasp. It tore at him as he stared awestruck. A sluggish murmur left his lips as he spoke up. “You look...” Lumina would smile fondly gazing upon the Shinigami, her long white hairs shifting as she parted them from her face. The night once again fell around the two. The chilling air held warmth now as the spirit rose to her bare feet. Her eyes drifted to the backdrop of silhouetted trees. Where an army of shadows spilled against the horizon and the moon sheltered spears of inescapable light. “Different?” Lumina paused. “This is Lumina’s true form...” She’d return to Aevus at that. "Though this one can't stay in it for long." Her eyes drifting to that slack jawed face. “This world only has one moon, this one did not-" She would pause. "-I didn't know that...” Aevus caught that, her manner of speaking had changed rather abruptly. She was correcting herself. He never had asked her why but he had an idea where it had come from. Lumina had once told him that she shared the very name of his inner world. That in truth, they were one in the same. That she was but a small piece of it, a shadow of its wonder. She didn't see herself as an individual so she couldn't bring herself to talk like one. Lumina Umbra; Light’s shadow. It meant the shadow of light and his entire world was flooded with it. An aurora of color and different hues spread across that forest like an incandescent fire. Lighting everything up and stretching the shadow thin. Though beautiful, it was a dark, lonely, cold and bleak world. Aevus felt a winter inside him every time he entered that forest. “It must have been cold living as the shadow of that world.” Aevus whispered under his breath and Lumina would look at him with tears in her eyes. “No...It was not, the world was lovely. The lights shimmered brilliantly on the waters reflecting even the smallest hint of light. Even a shadow like this one...like me could be caught in its beauty." She smiled. But Aevus saw through it. A smile sewn to ease his nerves. Unlike him though, she couldn't keep it, and her lip would quiver as she spoke. "In truth...it was cold, truly it was but- ” She shivered holding her naked body against the sliver of light as she gazed into his eyes. “This one...I always had you.” Her ears flattened as she spoke. Was she still lying? She had to be...he wasn't always there. He mistreated her. He even left her in that cold world. It was only recently they had reconciled. A lump formed in his stomach as he stood there. "Lumina..." Shrouded in pale moonlight Lumina would gaze up at Aevus, her ears as well as a smile perking. "That's why...I will teach you Bankai." She would smile once more as she spotted his expression. Shock had returned to the reaper and Aevus was left deafeningly silent by those words alone. " but first...I want to see the sunrise for the first time." Aevus couldn't help but smile. "I know the perfect place." The night fell from the land slowly. The orange light from the sun seemed to singe everything in its absolute illuminant embrace. Warmly painting the world in its translucent yet powerful wake. Distantly trailing forth against the greenery of the world. Far off lights from the stars, distant suns scattered across the very sky. They would die off, one by one, fading from sight. A silverish light would consume the wolf spirt as she Reverted to her lupine form. She would feel a pull on her heart as her eternal night faded. Silver lined eyes would shimmer in that coming light. A single tear would stroll down her furred cheek as She'd rest against the reaper in the light of the morning sun. ⛓ Profile | notes: Training for TP STATS & ABILITIES: Strength - [100] = [75] Points Speed - [400] = [540] Points Spiritual Pressure - [350] = [473] Points Reiatsu Strength - [100] = [75] Points Light Aura - [50] Points Dark Aura - [50] Points Instinct - [150] Points Senses - [100] Points Energy Sensory - [0] Points Healing Expertise - [0] Points Total SP: 1200 Current Skills: (11/16 SkP spent) •[Weapon: Katana] [2] •[Martial Arts: Iaido ] [2] •[Calm Mind] [1] •[Stealth] [2] •[Battle Analysis] [1] •[Strength of Will] [1] •[Acrobatics] [2] |
