Kimiko stood in the forest that she normally chose to train in with her zanpakuto. She had been out here for some time now and had wounded all over her body. She had lost a good portion of her blood due to the bite wounds and clawed in flesh. She knew that she was pushing her limitations and wouldn't be able to get back to the Seiretei if she kept going so she chose to deactivate shikai and start the long walk back to her home. She was doing her best to get stronger.
Captain Kenryoku had instructed her to keep growing in strength to the point that one day soon she'd be able to claim a position of actually ranking for herself. She had more than enough potential according to her Captain and many others. However, her determination needed to be strong enough for her to reach it in time to make a difference. The war against Las Noches, the Vandenreich and those strange groups in the world of the living was still going on. Kimiko needed to do her part in winning the war.
So she just kept at it until her bones broke and her mind adapted to the pain. Now though it seemed that perhaps she was going at this the wrong way. Maybe she wasn't going to get strong enough in time if this was all she could do. She wished that Okami or her Captain would train. Both of them had done so in the past so why couldn't they continue to do so now. She knew they were busy, but she needed someone to help her. That was when she suddenly started to feel tired and felt someone approaching her.
