Training for TTP
She panted lightly as she continued to push off, each and every motion of her arms against the ground lifting her body as she stared straight ahead, a light lump in her throat as she did so, the gentle tremor that ran it's way up and down her arm, signaling the strain and subtle tearing of muscle, the light tearing that would make way for newer, stronger muscle as she continued to move herself in rhythm to the soft counting on the other side of the room.
She strained on the last motion of the set, not to accomplish it, but to slowly set herself down rather than simply collapsing upon the floor, biting her lip as she slowly rolled onto her back, letting her arms slowly relax as she stared up at the ceiling, several soft breaths escaping her before her attention shifted to the woman in the corner, looking at her with a proud little smile, an almost unnerving little gaze that brought her cheeks to glow lightly as a shade of pink flushed across her red skin. "Might I ask the reasoning behind that look?"
As she sat up the woman only smiled wider, bringing only more concern to Nola as she lightly began to speak. "It's just.....nice to see you so focused on something other than.....well...business." She noted with a shrug of her shoulders, immediately a slight look of concern crossed Nola's features, her stern visage shifting only minimally as she glanced down at the floor, her eyes slowly shifting until they landed upon the blade she had been given. Her zanpaku'to. A fine needle which seemed, for all intents and purposes, quite exotic. Imagine her surprise when she found that her weapon took on such an odd shape so early.
Rising to her feet, she made her way over to the weapon and lifted it, lightly spinning it along her finger, wielding it through the eye of the needle itself as it served as a sort of handle. Hardly very long it was.... an odd weapon indeed. With a soft little sigh she slipped it into it's sheath, lightly tilting her head until her neck cricked and she began heading upstairs. "My duty is to all of you. I did not even want this...." She murmured softly as she vanished up the stairs, immediately a look of worry crossing her features once she was out of sight of the other woman.Training for SP
Making her way up, she decided to go on a jog, making her way out of the establishment and out into the rukongai, adjusting the rather prim and pristine suit that she so often wore on her business ventures when she was not on duty. She supposed a peruse about in order to patrol for hollows was in order. Even though she perhaps.....was not entirely sure how to feel about this new job of hers. Surely the owner of one of the more successful establishments in her district of the Rukongai was a strange candidate for a Shinigami. And yet..... here she was.
As she began a brisk pace down the streets, striding forcefully down the walkways as she let her mind buzz, she wondered how it was it had all happened. As an Inn that accommodated the needs of several bars, a club, as well as a bordello, she was....at the start, simply a bouncer. Having found not one, but two individuals she knew from her life as a human, which was frankly something so very rare, she had managed to find herself in something of a mangarial position. Aunt Subida helping her out for a while until she had to leave to try and find the others. She imagined that given they had found eachother in a brothel, it might stand to reason the others found their way to them too.
But well....that was ages ago. Already she could feel the burn in her legs. But it was so faint now. Ever since she'd gotten here she'd felt....different. tougher somehow. When a shinigami had caught her using her spiritual energy to burn a particularly nasty ex-customer, it had only been a few days beforew several of them showed up at her door to invite her to the academy.... NEedless to say it had been.... a tumultuous decision. By the time she stopped to think about it, she realized she had actually changed districts, a frown on her face as she panted softly, furrowing her eyes and gritting her teeth.
She knew she shouldn't hate Shinigami so much. She'd been konso'd after all. And sure they were.......shfity customers now and then. She even received business from some of the higher officers from time to time. But even so......there was something so very different about....being one of them. About her life taking such a hard left turn that even now she could scarcely imagine how she'd managed to find herself like this. In this......job. A job she knew she wasn't cut out for.
"Hey there beautiful~ You looking for work?"
A pause. Nola glancing over her shoulder before spotting what appeared to be a young couple. The male was smiling in such a friendly manner, but his body language showed much more than that. IT was an inviting and somewhat provocative pose. One she knew quite well. It was almost signature for recruiters. She had almost forgotten that a....competitor... was built so very close to her own establishment. She'd been under the impression that they had gone out of business. But then..... it was also possible that they had simply ceased with....legitimate business venues. She was immediately on guard.
"Hey relax, we just wanted to know if you needed some extra Ryo. Times are getting hard nowadays you know? Ever since the shinigami cleared out the market, business has been just shuffling through nowadays instead of stopping to buy stuff. Why don't you come with us? I'm sure we can find some work for you to do." The woman stated, approaching Nola every other words, the woman narrowing her eyes even as a hand reached out, lightly running fingers along her cheek as words and hands both worked to try and entice her.
She had to admit, it wasn't often she saw recruiters working in bi-gender pairs. She supposed it was probably to entice on a wider spectrum. Lightly, Nola reached up, grasping the woman's wrist and lightly moving it out of her personal space, her eyes set firmly on the woman as she straightened her back. "I already have a place of employment. I am in no need of your assistance." She stated promptly before suddenly her eyes snared on something. The gleam of a knife.
"Listen, it's a really good job. I think we can definitely persuade you to our....benefits...." A suddenly much darker tone of voice creeping into the woman's voice as she lightly scraped something from the inside of her pocket onto the blade, immediately Nola recognized it as some sort of drug, and at that point her gaze hardened as she drew that strange weapon of hers, even at it's diminutive size it far outsized the knife the woman had produced.
"I'll not repeat myself."
