Frustrated by yet another failure, Kazura left the cave and returned from his vacation prematurely. He poured over his work again, while in the back of his mind he couldn't help but think "what if I had stayed and managed to succeed?" He also was curious as to who had cleaned out his trash can, and after asking the only people who knew about the cave and coming up short, he tried to investigate who had been there while he had been passed out by checking the camera records. He went through the time that he had been working, and nobody but himself had gone through into the cave and nobody had come out either. It was definitely odd, but the man fast forwarded through the rest of the footage.
When he got to the day where he had come back after the cave was clean, he could have sworn that he saw a flicker of shadow in the background, but it must have been a trick of the light or a glitch. Right? Shrugging it off, the fullbringer went back to work. After he finished up all of the stacks of paperwork, he resolved to go back to that cave and give it another shot. After all, didn't Edison try a thousand times to get a good working version of a lightbulb? Kazura had only tried seven times, so far, so he had to be close to a breakthrough, right? Regardless, the man gave it another shot. He welled up the energy inside himself, pushed it through the machine, and tried to imbue it into the crystal in the bowl.

Another failure... In a frustrated rage Kazura flung the charred crystal failure across the cave where it shattered to pieces. He sat on the ground holding his head for awhile, thinking of what was wrong with him that he couldn't do this... He had the science all worked out but couldn't manage the practical skills of binding the souls. He was useless, weak, unskilled... All these thoughts rolled through his mind. He couldn't just push them away as they nagged at the back of his head. Instead... he stood up and got back to work. He got some new fresh Lacrima crystal and carved it into small strips.
Inlaying the blank crystal into his altar, he wanted to leave it separate from the bowl to absorb some of the soul each time that he attempted to forge something. If he failed, some of the energy would remain in the altar. If he succeeded or attempted a different crafting, the stored energy in his altar would be completely wasted. But this would help him, he was sure of it. With a new storage crystal in the bowl, he again placed his own energy into the altar and attempted to bind part of his soul into the matrix of stone...

The matrix had stored some energy, but not nearly enough. The mixture in the bowl exploded violently, nearly taking off Kazura's eyebrows with the catastrophic failure... Maybe I'm not meant to mess with the nature of souls, maybe that science is best put to rest... No. I must do this. I must push forwards. He had to try again. The matrix had absorbed more energy from the failure, so he had an even higher chance of success. This would be his last time, though. If he failed to bind the soul to the Lacrima crystal this time, he'd give up and take a small break. He had to keep his cool, after all, and there was work to be done on many other projects...

New Ryo Total: 160,000
The result was, yet again, a failure. Kazura just looked up at the sky, where gods most often dwelt. Did they have gods in Hueco Mundo? Was that his problem? He needed to have his altar here for secrecy, he couldn't just move the million ryo equipment willy nilly, but he wanted to make sure that he could actually succeed at this endeavor. Moving the altar would have to be a last resort. For now, he'd be content to leave this project and work on some others... Packing up, he left through his portal and headed back to the Land of the Living. There, he toiled away many days before the Lacrima again called his name to try and work on.
In the hiatus, he gained a new employee, Irina, who grew quickly into a competent fullbringer. He also had a run in with many enemies, including Hell invading his town and Xcution invading his headquarters. But his secret stayed in Hueco Mundo, where Satsujun would never find it... Kazura couldn't imagine what would happen if the terrible monster found out how to bind a soul to crystal... The innocent lives that could be lost... With a shudder, Kazura returned to his flashback as he walked into the portal into Hueco Mundo. The biggest change in the man's life was having met a Shinigami willing to call herself a partner in his work: Katrina.
Katrina had been interested in Lacrima crafting, so Kazura needed to figure out the kinks in it and actually have something to show for it before he could begin to show it off. He needed to get better at binding the souls to this crystal if he was going to actually perform it in front of the Shinigami. So, he got out his tools and again began the process of imbuing. The matrix had still held onto his previous experiments, so he'd have a higher chance of success than the previous times. Hopefully he'd manage to get his soul to latch onto the crystal this time...
Success chance 40%
