Location: An abandoned desert where no one ever goes. It's just complete clear space; no trees, no cover, just the two opponents to face each other. The sun is clearly out, leaving no ways to use the darkness as cover.
Special Conditions: None?
Circumstances: Shin is an unseated officer of squad 6. He has a huge God Complex and desires to test his powers in order to further cement his unshakable God Complex to himself. He has decided to send a letter to squad 10 to challenge Schala Alexandria, an unseated officer from squad 10 to a fight as a 'friendly' sparring session in a desert where it will just be the two of them.

"Oh my. It is definitely hot." Schala stated as the Sekaimon's gates came to a close behind her. All that lay before her were the sandy dunes that made up the vast desert. Sadly the only signs of life that could be labeled were the shifting sands that were carried off a few centimeters before meeting back with the rest of its kind. Her eyes scanning the area itself to hopefully locate the smallest signs of life besides the obvious natural state of the desert but to no avail. So, the only question that remained to be answered was to why she was summoned to such a desolate place anyways. Looking back she had received a notice that one of her associates from the barracks had brought her. According to what the Shinigami told her was that a strangely mannered male had sent it. As to why to her specifically is one question she would like to ask. As to what the notice itself had been inscribed with was quite simple. Training, or rather a "friendly" match between herself and a member of Squad Six.

Schala did take the time to look over as to who operated each Squad to insure that she made no blunders as to socializing with their members, but as to who exactly remained a mystery. She wasn't sure if there will be any other individual spectating their little session so it was assumed that there may be some manner of foul play considering the location itself. Not that it mattered much since she was already at the required location, but in case she left a copy of the note behind with her fellow team mates for the sake of safety. Yet, even as shady as the situation seemed it did provide Schala with an opportunity to see the difference the combat was when comparing the world of the living and the realm of spirits. A perfect opportunity really, and something that she'd be happy to finally figure out through experience.

Looking into her situation at the moment her host didn't seem to be presence, at least from what her level of energy sensory could tell. Another moment to gain some familiarity with her surroundings. With no one around to remove her level of concentration she gazed about the terrain. Her ability in analysis wasn't impressive to say the least but it did narrow down the ups and downs to the environment that will prove to be useful while in combat. Those little notes were posted on the side of her mind for later usage. The wind was quite refreshing aside from the constant beaming of the heat. That itself did little to affect her state of mind considering her attire. Her robes resembled more to a single piece dress. The kimono itself had been shortened to her specifications so the lower half shaped itself like a miniskirt. The material itself passed her thigh and only briefly touched her knee caps to allow full mobility, however, her heel boots were going to prove to be an issue when moving along the sands. So away they were set to the side as her practice Rapier had been drawn from her obi.

Before her host would arrive Schala thought it'd be best to warm up with her blunt weapon. For the time being she wasn't allowed to wield an actual weapon so her practice weapon would have to suffice. Although it wasn't a deadly weapon per say it was enough to guard against a sharpened sword like a Zanpakuto. However, that wasn't her greatest asset since there was another. A presence that she has been detecting for some  time. Regardless of where she went it was present too. A male's voice if she had to say, but rather it being aggressive or hostile it was comforting. A quick vertical slash downward from head to toe a few times before the presence of another came about,  "Brace yourself. He comes now." the voice warned. Immediately Schala brings her weapon to her front to prepare herself for who was to come.

I like music

He was so happy.

The young unseated officer was so happy because it had finally happened. Years and years of trying, constantly pouring his soul into the blade. He tried so hard and after several moments when he felt like giving up he just continued it. He didn't care any more because he had nothing to lose, so he kept on trying and he kept on trying. Ever since the beginning of the academy the blade had Shin's utmost attention and he never lost focus on the prize; keeping his eye on the prize it was called. It was almost strange how much he found himself in the woods by himself and sitting next to his empty sword just so he could keep trying to communicate with it.

Last night it had actually happened, Shin called out to his soul and his soul called back.

It's all going to fall in to place, my divine destiny, my divine purpose is slowly but surely falling into place. I am going to be a God, step by step.

Of course, with such a huge step in his development as a Shinigami Shin had to call someone out. He had chosen an unseated officer from another squad and sent her the message that very night. In the form of a letter Shin had taken a pen and paper and began writing. It was one of the few times Shin saw writing as actually being something useful. He hated reading and writing but now he was pretty damn happy he could read and write. Or else how could he write such a great letter? The handwriting was neat and well-crafted as Shin had naturally good handwriting. Not something he was proud of but at least it meant it was super easy to read so that was a huge plus side. He had the letter delivered to Schala and it said these words.

Schala,

I've heard of your growing power but you're not better than me for certain. I challenge you to a 'friendly' sparring match. Meet me at the Desert in the West of Outer Rukongai where we can fight. I'll be waiting.

Squad 6 Officer

Of course, after such a challenge any Shinigami with a sense of pride wouldn't simply turn that down. It was a direct challenge and unless they were a coward or had no pride they would accept. It was a good baiting tactic, now the unseated officer would surely meet up at the location Shin determined so they could fight on his terms. Of course, Shin had been drunk with power when he wrote the letter and the idea had seemed to great in his head but strangely enough Shin didn't see himself coming to regret this decision, even though it was now the day of their fight. Surprisingly, Shin was actually excited as he stepped in front of his mirror to examine his appearance . He could see himself grinning with pure excitement at the though of a good ol bash.

Shin had realised that about himself. The thrill of the fight was so exciting. Ever since that fight with the human that had left him with a horribly scarred hand Shin found that the thrill of battle was exhilarating. The blood flowing through his veins, the sight of someone trying to slice him up, the sight of a beaten enemy strewn across the ground and at his mercy. It was just so great and brought a smile to his lips every time. It had become more than just the thrill of victory, it was the thrill of the fight. The significance of the destination was slowly beginning to fade, it was now about the thrill of the journey. The challenge would bring that, it would test his power; he hadn't seen his zanpakuto yet, only heard a voice but that meant something. He was now in tune with his soul and they would feel the rush of battle together.

Shin examined himself. He wasn't dressed in the traditional Shinigami attire (as always). The sleeves were white as snow instead of being black. His whole outfit was rather loose-fitting, giving him plenty of room to manoeuvre when fighting. His chest was exposed, revealing the fact that he had become rather toned ever since his previous fight. The human and Grodd made him realise he needed to work on his strength and that's what he had done and it was showing. He wore his traditional brown boots that he always wore around, even when fighting. While most Shinigami appeared to wear some kind of traditional samurai sandles Shin did't, boots were much better for fighting after all. His sheathed zanpakuto was pinned to his side, hanging loosely on his left and ready to be drawn in an instant with either side (as Shin was ambidextrous).

However, the most noticeable thing about his chosen attire was his pitch black eyepatch over his right eye, revealing that he couldn't see out of there as that eye was too badly damaged. Shin had long since adapted to that potential blind spot and with above average senses could compensate for it to an extend. Still, it wasn't too off-putting to girls but Shin longed to be able to see out of two eyes. It made him fell so... incomplete. Shin sighed and flipped his long tied hair over the front of his shoulder and strode out of the door, moving to the location of this 'friendly' sparring session.

He had decided to use the squad thirteen senkiton to get to the desert quickly. Truth be told, Shin was already late, deciding to be late on purpose despite the fact that he was the one who issued the challenge. It was a small thing but to be late was to sow some form of annoyance in his opponents mind. In addition, it would further emphasise the silent point Shin wanted to make. He was the one who issued the challenge, the place and the method so they would fight on his terms completely. That definitely meant he would show up whenever he damn wanted. In addition, Shin really couldn't care less about: chivalry, honour or basic manners. She wasn't ranked higher than him so he'd do whatever he damn wanted and show up whenever he damn wanted.

Still, he couldn't be bothered to do that long walk so used the gates from Squad thirteen to get to their desired spot relatively quickly despite the fight being in the Soul Society so before he knew it, Shin had emerged from the gate a few meters from where his opponent was waiting. Still, he could see her waiting and Shin couldn't help but grin. Ho ho! So she has come, seems like you were right. He heard a voice say and Shin couldn't help but grin and answer back mentally. I think you're gonna learn that I'm right a lot. Shin just radiated arrogance despite not even being a seated officer, it was just an aura of confidence that had a habit of pissing many people off.

The next thing Shin noticed was that it was pretty fucking hot. It was a good thing he had decided to wear something loose-fitting or the heat might have very well killed him before Schala did! Shin could see the typical 'desert' waves and could feel the burning sun beating down on his back, drawing beads of sweat on his forehead. Shin wiped them off with his sleeve and grinned, beginning the slow walk towards the woman ahead of him. The sun's light was everywhere, making it very clear and Shin immediately knew that were would be nowhere to hide just be seeing the annoying amount of brown everywhere. There were only a few dead and dried up trees occasionally scattered along the desert plane but other than that nothing. Shin's mouth was already beginning to dry despite drinking a glass of water earlier.

She's noticed me. Shin mentally noted as he continued taking steps towards the opponent. He could see her weapon drawn, readied and at him. Shin grinned, she would immediately notice the casual grin, his dominant hand was already resting on the hilt and slowly nodded politely towards her. "Good ter see ya came, the name's Shin and I'm from Squad 6," Shin introduced himself, getting straight to the point. He wasn't in the mood to waste any more time, his heart was racing and he felt ready to burst from all the excitement. Shin's accent and dialect simply reeked of 'poor street rat', whether or not Schala looked down on that was up to her. Shin didn't particularly bother hiding his accent, not matter who they were. "Just wanna have a good fight, sometimes it's good to see how strong you are y'know." Shin explained, still grinning.

He winked playfully with his good eye before drawing his sword, baring the steel and pointing the tip towards Schala in a seemingly sloppy one-handed grip, getting into a defensive sword stance (very similar to fencing) and inviting her, no, goading her to come at him.

[Schala Alexandria]

The second gate had revealed itself and produced a man from its parting doors. Late for someone who requested her to meet up at such a location, but she'd give him the benefit of the doubt. On a side note by looking past the man she could make out some minor details that appeared to be a piece of the Seireitei. The slick man drew closer to Princess' position and briefly introduced himself as well as his intentions. It was just as the note said so he couldn't have been an impostor since he claimed he was from Squad 6. That and the name that he gave was Shin. His overall appearance came off as one who was laid back and distant from the formal garbs of the Shinigami. Loose clothing with the posture he was using as he marched up hill definitely spoke more about his character. For a Shinigami he was indeed mystique but boldly ill mannered. However he still introduced himself which showed a minor level of respect. So she gave her brief introduction.

"I am Schala Alexandria of Squad 10, and it is a pleasure to meet you Shin." She referred to him by his name because there was no means of display of him being a higher ranking than her. According to the letter that was sent it deemed him as an Officer of Squad 6 but looking at him with no means of enforcing that claim she will have no reason to say that he was her better. Didn't mean that her level of respect for him was lowered nor rose but remained the same. The difference between their nature was quite obvious. While Shin's presence was more casual and lax, possibly even aggressive and arrogant, Schala carried herself in a more elegant and soothing presence. Like the contrast between fire and water.

Shin removed his Zanpakuto from its sheath and posed it toward her in a familiar stance that Schala recognized immediately. The stance was practically screaming Fencing, to what Schala specialized in. Taking in stance into account she really couldn't decipher if his fighting style was the same as her's, or rather anything about him at all. Schala needed more information before proceeding further when facing off against the man. The silent gesture he omitted beckon to the woman to come in and attack. So it would be considered rude if she didn't accept his open invitation.

The man was only a few meters away but not far away enough to find the need to yell. Her rapier posed into position as she paced herself closer until the two were only five feet from each other. She could make out the the eye patch that clung the side of his face meaning that a section of his sight would be impaired. That will be something she will keep in mind. Both eyes widened before initiating the first strike as she launched off the sandy surface and into the heart of the Shin's territory. A single foot planted a foot away between his own footing while her rapier was thrust forward targeting the midsection of the man's chest. The right arm worked in conjunction to her right leg as it was planted in front of the man like a right hook.

Schala's foot caused a soft spurt of sand, like a brush of dust, along their sandy foundation. Her body etched to the side as a side step to allow her Rapier's reach extend an extra foot. Not the same could be said about her eyes as they were focused on another target rather than where her blunt weapon would hit. Instead, they were focused on the strands of his muscles and posture. Shin's body was relaxed and would take a moment to act or enter into a preferred stance to guard against her strike. This made her question her approach but a good way to start off their confrontation. "Keep your mind focused and your wits about you Princess. A battle can be long and is proven to be what drains a warrior of their strength quicker than anything else." the voice whispered beside her ear. She didn't need to hear that advice but wasn't something that was not dismissed either. Schala was here to learn and improve above all else. But it was always better to train as though it were a real life scenario.

Shin couldn't help but smile as she drew her own weapon, while he was relaxed and smiling externally there was a whole lot going on inside his brain. Shin liked to fight and operate on a 'analyse and counteract' kind of basis. He didn't like to make the first move, it left him too open, and there were too many unknowns - too many potential ways it could go wrong. Why would he charge at Schala first? He didn't know how fast she was, how physically strong she was, how spiritually strong she was, if she could fire off any interesting kido, if she knew any destructive techniques, how she liked to use her sword, if she was aggressive or defensive. Shin didn't know the first thing about Schala besides her name and squad, going in all willy nilly seemed a bit... illogical.

Luckily, Shin put out some bait and she bit. And now she was approaching him weapon bared. Shin didn't know if it was honour, annoyance, or respect but she came at him and Shin was very glad. She paced herself, coming towards Shin at what Shin suspected wasn't her full speed but already Shin was beginning to make mental judgements on how he could approach the situation. She had her weapon in a similar stance to him, she didn't seem particularly fast but Shin suspected she just didn't want to waste her full energy simply closing the distance between them. Still, more time for Shin to think it all meant. That extra time is what gave Shin the chance to get himself into full gear, making Schala's earlier assumption that he was too relaxed so would struggle to guard against her stance wrong. In fact he was more than ready and prepared, he had been getting himself in the zone all this time, he just seemed relaxed because that's just how he was. It didn't exactly affect his sharpness or the way he fought. Still, the less she knew the better it was.

She was there still, about five meters away from him. Shin noticed she dragged her foot forwards, and then she noticed she went forwards herself with her weapon leading the way. But what Shin noticed most of all was the apparent slowness she moved at. Not that it very slow or anything but it was only average, just the typical average joe speed. Shin on the other hand could move faster than a hare or a horse, still, that didn't diminish the threat at all. A weapon was a weapon and a weapon hitting you was never a good thing, so she came right at him with her weapon, full speed ahead and was aiming straight at him, her foot had even come forward, giving her thrust just that extra range.

A pity it wouldn't finish.

Shin's brain kick started into fight mode. The small information he had gathered didn't make a difference, all he could do was just deal with what he had and react to what was in front of him. Still, she had done what Shin wanted and now Shin felt comfortable, her invading his personal space made him feel super comfortable weirdly. It meant he didn't have to charge in, it meant he didn't have to face something so unknown by making the first move, it meant he could do what he did best which was to react and counter. It was all methodological, it was all well and good in Shin's mind at least. Battle reflexes would decide the day now!

Their steel clashed, their sword singing through the desert for that split moment all because Shin had moved to counter her strike. Schala's long thrust wouldn't finish because Shin had stopped it. He raised his sword, no, he didn't block the strike that wouldn't do at all. He parried the strike. His sword clashed midway with her weapon and Shin shoved, essentially redirecting the blade's forwards momentum and motion to the right and away from the Shinigami, completely harmless. This achieved two effects. Firstly, it gave Shin a small indication of her speed, the strike hadn't been particularly fast at all - Shin now knew that he was faster than her by a reasonable margin. What also happened was that Schala's arm would be right past Shin as he stepped inside her guard, getting her right where he wanted her.

Now this seemed like a very stupid move. After all, Shin was using a katana, and katana's were rubbish at super close range. If Shin wanted to get in close that would mean he would have to be a hand-to-hand user, or he was using a knife or a dagger, or he was just using a shorter weapon. Anything but a katana! But Shin had none of that, and yet he had stepped inside Schala's guard by freeing herself up with the parry. It was the perfect opportunity, Shin redirected her sword's momentum to the side with the parry, now her weapon was harmlessly to the right of them to slide inside her guard and bang, he could do what he wanted; if he wasn't using a katana as his weapon.

Now, luckily Shin wasn't a close-minded fight who only cared about his weapon. What Schala would hear was Shin taking a step forwards and his weapon scraping against hers as it moved down her weapon. Since his fight with Veroer he had figured out that he desperately needed to get his strength up, he needed to be able to contend with opponents in the physical strength department and here if where he would put his newfound physical prowess to the test. He slid inside Schala's guard with a clenched fist, now she was in his own range. It was simple what he did next, his fist lashed out, aiming for a solid connection with her solar plexus with all of his arm strength (which was pretty damn decent).

It was funny to think that a solid punch from someone who looked like Shin could do damage but appearance could be deceiving. Shin essentially had strength equivalent to a professional boxer, a solid blow to her solar plexus would hurt a lot. It would knock the wind out of her for starters, she would even feel the need to empty out her breakfast if the attack hit. It would be a complete shock, Schala didn't know how fast Shin was at all, nor how strong he was. The punch would come pretty damn fast and his fist would be back at his side in an isntant. It would be very hard and very, very fast.

She had gone for the jab and Shin had forced them to lock weapons, using his skills in a sword he parried her weapon to the side, leaving her wide open and easy to simply step into and deliver a hard blow.

It wouldn't end the fight or anything, but to put it mildly, it would hurt.

[Schala Alexandria]

Shin was clever to actually allow the Princess to make the first move in the battle. An easy means to interpret her abilities and capabilities all together. To his eyes Schala appeared to be the fool who had taken the bait to be ensnared by his little trap, like a fly to the spider web. Schala knew what she was getting herself into long before her move was made. True that Schala was operating with limited abilities to reserve her strength when need be. Each move made was taken into consideration and planned ahead, so Shin's response wasn't out of the many scenarios that could have happened, but only waited to see what he was capable of, and he gave his answer freely.

Her eyes widened from the parry that slid her Rapier toward the man's right. This left the Shinigami tipping toward the side with that motion continuing on, but it wasn't what she was focused on. Rather than keeping her eyes on what transpired they were focused on something else, his body language. The entire time of her single motion Schala had been analyzing his body for signs of motion. First off he altered his stance when Schala engaged him at first, then quickly shifted his weapon to defend himself, thus resulting in his parry. Her eyes continued to remain wide not because of the surprising difference in their speed but to ensure that nothing escaped her sights.

Her eyes managed to catch his action before having to switch over to her peripheral vision. Thankfully her senses were honed to that of a professional Fencing practitioner to be able to capture Shin's movements when his fingers were drawn into his hand and clench into a solid fist. She knew what would be coming when his hand drew back to muster up his force. It was one of the many possibilities that would happen when inside Shin's personal space. Although rare to fight with a mixture of fighting styles it wasn't out of the question to use a potential opening to land a blow. The only thing that Schala had to figure out was what Shin's overall speed was. And that was done with both her sensory and energy sensory working in tangent with one another.

The mind was indeed a powerful thing and Schala knew that when going up against a male opponent that she would be out muscled. Men are naturally stronger than women and it was a lesson that her Instructor had instilled into her. Regardless of the amount of training Schala was already at a disadvantage. But that only regarded in terms of physical strength. Her mind processed this information quickly but unfortunately not at the rate which she desired. The man's closed hand strike was found out by her battle analysis while his overall speed was being calculated and judged by her overall analysis ability. What her instructor went over was to examine the individual's shoulders when wanting to judge their speed.

It was quite humorous to know that her training would have paid off. Luckily for her that Shin didn't cease her momentum and allowed her blade grind along the edge of his Zanpakuto. To his surprise that Schala used the momentum to actually assist with her counter when she continued into her motion to pivot toward the left. Despite her movement Shin would believe to pivot away and regain her balance at a safe distance, but that wasn't the case. Instead, the force that Shin drove away with his own blade applied the added force for Schala to use into her rotation. Soon enough the man's fist would feel the delicate touch of the woman's free left hand as it followed the same method of parrying that Shin himself used. However, with an added motion to give her an edge.

The woman's hand led the man's fist into the same direction as her blade was directed toward. The subtle difference of strength was marginal but didn't matter when redirecting that said force, while at the same time using her own foot to trip the man's stumbling advance. From a distant view their little confrontation was viewed as a pair of individuals dancing in the hot sun. But it wasn't over yet. Schala used the force driving his solid punch to come full turn around with the heated edge of the Rapier against the soft patch of skin at the back of the man's neck. The only thing that Schala didn't expect was the grazing of his knuckle against her hip. Luckily for her the honed spirit that lingered within her formed a strong defense against a lesser physical force than her spirit.

While not enough to issue a cutback effect, but with nearly double the amount beyond his strength it would have been grazing flesh against a rock. Those pools of sapphire remained constant watch over the man when waiting for the man's response of the heated Rapier finding his skin. Shortly afterwards the Princess recovered and returned to her original defensive stance behind the man to await what would come next, caressing the upper hip where his fist had brushed against.

Something non-Naruto

Well colour me fucking impressed.

Shin was so sure of himself, he had been 90% sure that his fist would connect with her solar plexus, knocking the wind out of her and giving Shin all the time he wanted to commit his next move to knock her down a few pegs. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time, instead of his fist finding its way into her soft and poorly guarded solar-plexus it found itself grazing the hard bone of her hip. Her hard hip was an unpleasant surprise since he had been expecting something a lot softer and a much different reaction than a dance away. Luckily, Shin had good instincts, he had already processed just exactly what Schala had done in order to not find the wind knocked out of her and herself gasping for breath.

She had used her own momentum to parry Shin's fist and redirect it. Weird, Shin hadn't expected her to be able to do that; he had thought he was faster than her but it seemed speed wasn't the only factor. Maybe she had fast reaction times, quick reflexes, and to be fair it didn't take much to dodge a punch so he guessed he shouldn't be so surprised that she had blocked it. Still, Shin had expected his mixture of hand-to-hand and swordplay to catch her off guard, he hadn't expected her to react to Shin's little sly sleight of hand the way she did. That all came down to Shin underestimating his opponent, his God-Complex clouding his true vision.

It's not a complex, it's the truth. I am a God and she will see that. Shin thought to himself bitterly.

Still, perhaps in the long run it was good that she'd not been hit by that - it sent a clear message to Shin, his zanpakuto, even to the dirt they were sparring on. She was no push over. Although, Shin actually liked the weak and easy fights, he didn't like opponents that would push him, could beat him, had the potential to be better than him. That's impossible. God. God. GOD!!! She just dodged it, she was trying, that just meant the Squad 6 Officer would have to try a little harder but he would land that solid blow eventually - even if it killed him. FUCK! Is she playing mind games on me? A god? A god!!! He would not be mocked or beaten or anything of the sort! He would-

Calm down, it's just a parry. The voice broke his chain of thought, snapping him out of his moment of temporary frustration. Calm, he just had to be calm, all she did was parry, she hadn't even cut him yet and he was already mentally overreacting. He wasn't being cool and collected. As Schala found herself sliding away Shin temporarily saw into her eyes and gave a quick nod of acknowledgement. Maybe she could notice it and guess what it meant. It was a challenge, it was a challenge along the lines of 'bring it on and bring everything you've got'. From combatant to combatant he hoped she knew what it meant, for the sake that they'd crossed weapons already.

Shin grunted and kicked his foot across the ground, kicking up a bit of sand but it quickly went away. It was certainly hot, already Shin could feel sweat breaking out across his forehead and running down his face from just that one move. If this fight went on any longer Shin could see himself getting drenched, effectively needing a very long and maybe cold shower after this little fight. Maybe fighting in a hot desert wasn't one of Shin's brightest ideas knocking around in his head but if he recalled some Shinigami had to fight in palace's made of ice and if what he heard about Hueco Mundo was true then he would have a lot worse to do than fight in the hot deserts. Who was he to mentally complain? At least he was doing something. However, his mouth was as dry as a desert already and he had just started fighting - this would be a hard fight if he wasn't careful.

Still, Shin couldn't help but feel a small jolt of pride in his heart, he could see her caressing the spot where he had punched her - her hip. That meant that he had definitely done something, obviously not broken or fractured her hip -that would be stupidly ridiculous if his strength had improved THAT much in such a short amount of time- but maybe he had left a tiny bruise if he was lucky. While it seemed stupid Shin always felt a sense of pride every time he landed even a small hit on someone, especially if his little complex started to perceive that they were some kind of threat to him and his divine destiny. She's good, she's actually good. But I am a God, I am a God, I came from nothing, I killed them, I'm going to get there and first I'll beat her.

Shut up man, aren't you supposed to be like, super supportive of me or something.

A grumble.

The Shinigami simply rolled his eyes and put up his stance once again, his blade at the ready for any kind of moves on Schala's end. "Shoulda bet on this fight, this is a the kinda fight I wanna get money off of!" Shin exclaimed, openly grinning his excitement and his good eye widening. After that little comment he just stood there, making it clear what was going on. He certainly wasn't going to re-engage or make the next move. No way! Shin didn't do that, he waited for them to engage him, keeping his eyes and ears sharp for any kind of sudden movement or attack from his enemy so he could react and counter in a suitable yet brutal fashion. None of that involved Shin rushing headlong into the danger. He had to take this methodically and calmly, and that meant not charging in when no opening presented itself. He took that same approach in both forms of usual Shinigami combat, hakuda (hand-to-hand) and especially in swordplay.

"Ladies first!" Shin beckoned with a sarcastic politeness, adding a little playful wink at the end of the sentence. Nah, he wouldn't be engaging first thank you very much. He stood there, waiting for Schala to engage him, but it was more than waiting for his foe to re-start the combat and end the small lull they had at the very beginning no. No, he was waiting for an opening, he was waiting for an opportunity. Your move I guess, hit me with everything you've got. The Shinigami stood there, good eye locked on Schala and the sun rays shrouding her and waiting for her to come at him again.

"Well, he certainly is not a bright one." the voice echoed in the back of her mind, and Schala couldn't agree more. Even with sun beating the pair with its blazing radiation the man managed to form a smile from the midst of everything. As for herself the Princess was quite envious to a degree. His tenacity of being to conjure his pride from the heat and from their small encounter would surely have done him some good, especially with the small blow he managed to get off of her. The surface of what was grazed did in fact cause some discomfort, but not enough to hinder her own movements at all. If anything it served as a reminder to tread carefully. She had to adjust her approach, make herself lighter. Faster. She knew that to be impossible to out class him in the feats of physical power, but there were numerous ways to exploit them too. Schala was good at that.

The sand beneath caressed her footing in its warm embrace. Sweat trickled down the creamy white surface of her neck down to into robes. Her breath stilled itself regaining her composure. She was ready when the man again beckoned to her. "You may do so, however I am not one for such leisure activities." she retorted to the notion of gambling on a fight, knowing full well that there were many who would do such a thing. The Shinigami never took part of such things and neither did she looked down on those who did. Didn't mean that she had to like it nor accept it being around her. "You do certainly know what it means to live among those who are lively, and I believe you are rather bold as well." She continued on. "Though, I do thank you for your consideration, but do take note that in the game of chess, that even the first move can declare the winner." she fed more food for thought considering that waited for her to make the first move. The same tactic she normally implemented, and more than familiar with how it worked. But...

Her balance lowered. Bending at the knees as her off foot was brought forward and the Rapier brought down to her side cocking back like a sling. Her offhand returning to her front as though keeping a barrier between the two. Her refined figure leaning forward nearing the sand. She felt every last detail of her muscles bulging and constantly had to remind herself to keep herself loose. She only had to direct the muscles that were necessary to remain stiff to propel her for the necessary movements. "Here we go again my lady. Relax, and stay focused." the voice called again to keep the woman in check. His voice was calm and soothing to insure the anxious woman with clarity that she knew what she was doing, and victory achievable.

Sand spewed from behind as the woman re-engaged her fellow Shinigami. Her form remained close to the ground upon her approach. Thoughts about their last session still fresh in her mind going over what happened. She couldn't narrow how the man fought, but was getting an idea. So far he used a combination of melee and swordsmanship to not only surprise his opponents but deal an effective blow altogether. If Schala had not been analyzing his movements the entire time, then his fist would have made full contact with her. However, the annoying bruise that was left behind didn't hurt at all, since it was actually the pressure from his fist that made the area tingle. Later on she would have to take a look at it to full examine the cause, but for now it was back to the action.

Her eyes shifted head to toe every second on her approach. Any subtle movement, any twinge of motion from any muscle that will give up information. Not only that since the sand was also a part of what could be a possibility. Her sensory lit the man to obscure all other forms of life around her and maintain her focus on him all the more effective. He was indeed faster, stronger than her, but blind sided himself because of it. Schala was confident in herself to a degree but despite of that she always kept herself to a degree of caution, always putting into own mind that those she face will be stronger than her. Always expect the unexpected. Which did come to use for her as Schala closed the distance between the two, this time only mere inches from each other to actually be able to sense the other's warmth.

Why? If anything as a Fencer Schala should have kept her distance to analyze Shin more thoroughly instead of charging in. Actually, it was for that very reason. Throughout their little interaction she did notice a few things, some subtle discontentment with how things went about their last clash. Maybe it was nothing, or maybe it was. Anyhow it wasn't the reason, but to see how the man reacts with the small amount of pressure being applied to him because of the situation she had brought upon him. Close quarters combat. If anything he'd be superior to her in this department, and as a matter of fact she was hoping for it. Even up close as she was her two abilities in analysis were being overworked as her eyes widened to take in the details around her. From her charge he'd notice that her body was reclining from the ground, but, in a curve? Yes, her figure was actually climbing up like a boxer's uppercut. And from her motion her leveled Rapier swift lunged nearly overhand down toward the man's solar-plexus, the same as he attempted to do to her. She only would return the favor to him as he tried to do to her, after all, ladies first.

Shin raised his eyebrow at her response to his little gambling comment, clearly indicating she didn't particularly like such an idea. It looks like you're dealing with one of those 'stuck-up' ones! Ho ho ho! His zanpakuto said to him and Shin couldn't help but roll his eyes. He had encountered so many of these ones, ones that took work so seriously, who had no time for themselves and somehow Shin finding time for himself made him the bad guy. Somehow in some way... Shin didn't particularly get the logic and truth be told he really didn't care. They could act however they wanted, or see him however they wanted - it didn't really worry him in the slightest.

Perhaps that is why Schala's response to Shin's little commend didn't particularly seem to affect him. He had spent all of his academy life being called ever name under the sun, having stuck up rich boys look at him like he was some kind of rat. Street rat, sleep around, illiterate, dirty, poor. Not that Schala was being particularly disrespectful or rude or anything, but somehow Shin just didn't like what she said. Hey-ho he gave it a go and he simply took it with a pinch of salt. This was a battle, his adrenaline was surging through him and his brain wasn#t wired on social things, it was wired on the best way to beat his opponent up and come out victorious. At this point anything Schala said would go in one ear, play in his brain a bit, then go right out of the other.

"Though, I do thank you for your consideration, but do take note that in the game of chess, that even the first move can declare the winner." She told him. Hah, if you say so. Maybe she was trying to distract him, make him think that his method of fighting was all wrong. What if he was approaching this the wrong way? What if he was going to lose? What if his strategy wasn't going to work? Those were all questions Shin assumed she was trying to invoke to play in his mind. He simply disregarded them and didn't think anything of it. It simply went in one ear and right of the other. In a battle if Shin started questioning his fighting style he would falter and he would surely lose. That was simply a fact.

Still, Shin was happy that she had bit and was now moving towards him at her slow pace once again. This time, Shin narrowed his eyes to analyse what she was doing, trying to think about where she was likely to aim for and what was likely the best strategy to counter it. The only problem was that with only a 1 in Battle Analysis there was only so much he could predict she would do. The movement towards him indicated she was going to attempt some kind to attack, the way her rapier cocked backwards and forwards meant it was definitely going to be with the sword and nothing else. She didn't seem to like hand-to-hand combat from what Shin had gathered, that was okay - just meant he had an extra edge in something.

Before long she had closed the distance, but this time Shin already had his counter prepared. Where she would've began her strike Shin had already began to take a long step back, this meant her stab towards his solar plexus would take longer, she would have to stretch more for it to even have a chance of reaching. However, Shin didn't wait, and he did something that not even her analyse skills would predict. After he took his quick step backwards to give him an extra few seconds he then kicked sand towards her with his other foot. This would cause a large amount of sand particles to effectively fly into his fellow Shinigami's eyes, or she could close her eyes in time (if she was very lucky) but either way it achieved the same effect. She was blinded, couldn't see and Shin's movements were effectively screened.

As soon as he kicked up the sand into her eyes he took a diagonal step inwards to her left, meaning he was no longer in danger of her sword and if he really needed to he could dodge or block with his sword if she somehow managed to turn. However, as she could no longer see him this would be unlikely. However, with his diagonal step she was now in perfect reach. Shin used his full speed to deliver a very powerful, horizontal one-handed slash that was aimed for her side (waist) and this time it aimed to do a massive damage. If she didn't find a way to notice what had happened and try to avoid it she would feel his katana bite deep into her waist. It would draw a scarily large amount of blood that would spatter all over the sand. Oh, and it would hurt like hell.

The strike was aimed to send a message, she had tried to throw him off his fighting style and would now pay dearly for it. Shin was the god who would dictate this fight. Not her. His words, thoughts, feelings were absolute. That's what a true God was. He was absolute. "Too bad this ain't a game of chess darling." He said, grinning slightly before adding a quick flirtatious wink with his good eye at the end of the sentence. He wasn't particularly angry or anything of the sort, he was just very very determined and when a prodigy was determined it meant the situation was truly serious.

The man was certainly over confident in himself. That was a typical good sign when fighting alongside comrades on the open battle field. Someone who could always find a means to push on while others lost will to do so. She saw that upon her approach. His eyes were focused and keen on her. Not as they were before when twiddling with the situation, but trained on what was transpiring now. So, he can focus when he needs to. So her earlier analysis was on the mark.

Both her skills in analysis scanned the man entirely with her senses widened to keep him in scope. However, not of that did much when it closed the distance to only have his waistline and up in her sights. Her eyes could only focus on what her own sights allowed, even with her peripheral vision she couldn't have foreseen the dirty trick that the man employed. Little to her own knowledge was that her vision had been incapacitated by intentional outside interference. Or in more simple terms that he kicked up sand into her eyes. At that same moment out of human reflex the Shinigami halted her advance to step back from the irritation in her eyes, only to fail.

Shin took the second to step back from her thrust in order to kick about the particles of dried earth into her sights. She couldn't see. Schala's wrist rubbed against the irritation to rid herself of it. In that while her energy sensory lit up when the man motioned. He was positioned to her left but didn't know what was about to happen. More or less he would use the opportunity to his advantage, and she was right when that voice came again with a warning, "To your side!" The woman didn't have nether the reflect nor the speed to bring out a proper defense, nether in the position to see what was transpiring either. It was only out of her own safety that Schala threw herself forward where the man was before to avoid the unseen swing.

The sounds of his footing resting near her side was another clue to his sudden change in location, but still didn't recognize as to what was going to happen. If it wasn't for the whisper warning her, then it would have been her natural instinct to avoid confrontation while under duress. It was probably at least five feet of distance that her single push allowed. All she could feel was the scratching sensation in her eyes along with the salty texture of sand in her mouth. Those grainy particles clung to the loose fabric of her robes. Each one scratching against the softness of her cream like skin. Schala felt a few of the grains falling into her bra, something she was going to have to rid herself of when showering and washing her clothes.

She would have managed some distance from the man only to hear his rebuttal about her earlier comment. How wrong he was. Their two lives were distant from each other that was for sure. His ability to adjust and catch his opponents off guard. But that wasn't just it. Being a knight in the past Schala had seen many individuals in the ghettos use such a means of urban fighting to survive. How sad it was to see someone having to fight to survive. Her father, from what she could remember, always offered assistance and opportunity to those in need so that they could aspire to something more. A different and better lifestyle. The Princess found herself unable to relate to them so she couldn't say anything or judge them for who they are, only for the intended purpose for what they were trying to accomplish. How sad it was.

"How dare he. Such a disgraceful means to achieve victory." the whisper uttered in low regards to such lowly tactics. Its master argued differently, "Can you blame him? He must have had no other means to win where he came from." Another moment taken to rid herself of the sand in her eyes as she came back to bout. "For someone who holds himself in high regards you are one who thinks low of himself to be using such tactics now sir." Schala voiced her opinion as to where the man was now, not to where he was back in the time that he had to use such tricks. "I am not here to judge nor have the right to. But I do believe you are capable of more than what you must deviate to." her eyes where beginning to clear from the debris.

A breath of warm air penetrated through her nimble lips and filled her interior with raging warmth as her fingers resting alongside the length of her rapier, "Although, if this is how you truly fight, then I am more than pleased to meet you at your fullest, Shin of Squad Six." Those tips discovering the end of her blade while it being directed at her foe. Then, her eyes opened once again twitching for the last few times before returning to their previous focus on the man. From their last few encounters she had been studying his style. Twice she has experienced analyzing him to finally put the pieces together. Both her battle analysis gauging his speed and tactics while her general analysis was spent on his behavior and the region interaction with themselves. The hot air, softness of the ground, and it all entangled into their overall performance. The princess found her means of going about the battle. Her pawn pieces were taken, but now she was going to set her remaining pieces into place for the final push. With that said all Schala could let out was a smile to what was to come.

"For someone who holds himself in high regards you are one who thinks low of himself to be using such tactics now sir." So monotone, there wasn't a hint of disgust or contempt in her voice, as if she was just stating a cold fact. Shin raised an eyebrow curiously as her reaction, not even bothered at the fact she had dodged his attack. It was interesting, whenever he used similar tactics in the past to gain the upper hand he was met wit feelings of rage and utter contempt. As if he had been 'cheating' or been 'dishonest'. Shin simply let these comments go in one ear then come out of the other because in his mind one could not 'cheat' in a battle. Anything went, as long as Shin was determined the victor then nothing remained on his conscious.

So, at that comment Shin simply allowed an amused smirk to grace his facial features. Besides who is she to question me? Who is she to question a... Shin flicked his sword and took a step towards her, his constant analytical eyes undressing her every move and detail about her. Slowly de-constructing her fighting style and thinking of solutions to gain the upper hand. "I am not here to judge nor have the right to. But I do believe you are capable of more than what you must deviate to." She said to him, stopping him mid move when he was preparing to close the distance in order to unleash a fresh flurry of attacks against her. But that sentence made him stop.

A mind game you idiot, it's all a mind game.

His zanpakuto spirit's words made him snap out of his moment of hesitation and thought. At this point he was stood there, standing directly opposite his opponent; his eyes locked onto her nimble form. The man bit his lip slightly, no longer deep in thought but still focused on his opponent. "Although, if this is how you truly fight, then I am more than pleased to meet you at your fullest, Shin of Squad Six." That sentence made the corners of Shin's mouth curl and a small chuckle escape from his throat. The insolence, the fact that she would even dare try all of that mind game shit with him was laughable. That's how the young Shinigami saw it, a mind game, some kind of trick to throw him off guard. Does she not know she is speaking to... a ...

"I fight in any way that will leave my opponent beaten and bloodied on the ground, that is what battle is about." He explained, his grin growing wider and wider with every passing second and his good eye twitching once. He dug the balls of his feet on the ground, chuckling even more at the pure ridiculousness of what this woman was saying to him. "I can tell you don't like it," Shin began, pausing as he took a deep breath in an attempt to regain his composure, "but that's all fine and dandy, no one ever approves of anything I do, but y'know what? I couldn't care a tad less." Shin explained calmly, still keeping his gaze locked on Schala.

Before Schala knew it Shin suddenly blurred, that's all she would see of the young Shinigami before he was just ... gone. All Schala would see were the footsteps of in the sand where Shin had been standing. Suddenly the Shinigami appeared to the left of her, already in the motion of a quick slash that would leave a deep, crimson smile on her arm.

God...

But how had he done it? The answer was simple... Shunpo. Shin took a diagonal step to the left of Schala, stopping to the left of her, however, he had taken care to make sure he was just about out of range of her weapon when he stepped and appeared out of the shunpo. However, in order to deliver a solid attack he took a step inside as he swung his blade, ensure the tip of his blade would meet her flesh and would hurt. Luckily for him, the element of surprise was on his side, Shin was counting on the fact that a shunpo was the last thing on Schala's mind, particularly since that Shin had been talking and had made it seem like he was simply going to wait for her to come to him (as he had always done). This whole fight he had been waiting for Schala's to make the first move, the fact that he would suddenly go on the offensive would surely catch the analytical Schala off guard, especially since that it had happened to quick. One minute he was talking, the next he was at her side taking a slash at her arm!

Shin spoke like one from the streets. How he carried himself and how he operated sent waves of facts to the Princess. His demeanor, ways of speech, and battle tactics, he was the very essence of an individual who would seize victory by any means necessary. Such as one from the streets where the rules didn't apply, at least for survival. So what came next did in fact surprise her, but to no great lengths. Even as he spoke reiatsu began to build within him. Despite her eyes regaining their focus her energy sensory, something that Shin lacked, immediately sighted the increase of spiritual energy.

Her wonder was what it would have been used for, but from what she was capable of seeing wasn't a manifestation of a spell. What could it have been then? Before he finished his sentence her rapier rose to take on a defensive posture, its edge crossing her torso at a forty-five angle. The stinging sensation of sand rubbing against the delicate tissue of her eyes irritated her, it distracted her, and that was when he vanished. "Princess!" the voice echoed in every corner of her mind when the man reappeared to her side, his blade swinging in her direction. Her analysis narrowed down to the distance and speed of his blade.

Her athletic senses honed onto his motion only. By no means she could have avoided the slash. The only means of her protecting herself was her blade. The blunt weapon was raised in adjacent to the incoming swipe. She took his speed into consideration from the previous encounters which was the reason why her off foot rounded to her left toward her rear. A back step while positioning herself to brace for the incoming force. And what added to her surprise further was the amount of force applied. It was simply the tip of his Zanpakuto that nudged her back. Thankfully the sand's own composition acted as a cushion to reduce the force, which she noted earlier on during their encounters.

The pair of blades grind against one another sending small flares of sparks toward the side. Was this going to be a single strike confrontation? No, she had to get into his personal space. She saw one way through. "Princess, into and through the center." Schala's weapon swung inward in a counter clockwise motion. Her left hand palmed the tip of her rapier gave the extra support to apply the small amount of strength she wielded to push the man's swing, with this effect the man's blade would complete its swing. But that wasn't all.

Even as his blade continued its swing a single step was taken to confront Shin on his own ground. The Shinigami's small figure was brought down under his swing with her left hand pushing upwards on it. For Shin he would feel a small push upward from down below while her left hand completed its own motion coiling around the length of his arm. A second step soon followed, this one bringing her main right hand past his defense and directing her rapier's tip down and around to Shin's chest cavity. To say that wasn't the only strike as Schala cocked the rapier back a mere inch before launching it again, however, this time was aiming in the center of his face.

Not only that Schala managed to take on his swing using her spiritual pressure to act as a defense, but mostly parrying his blade by following its motion through. Whilst still in motion she found a narrow opening through his slash and pushed onward into Shin's personal space. A risky gambit if wishing to land a two sequence. Altogether her body whipped into Shin to initiate a one-two thrust before backing away a foot away for them to continue their little session.

She's good. He thought to himself. Yea, she was definitely really good, she countered to expertly, with a grace that arguable Shin had not even achieved. However, while vain Shin did not fight to look pretty; he fought to cut his opponent to ribbons and get something from it. He was the kind of guy who could slit throats and smile about it while having a cup of sake. That is what would ultimately separate Shin from the other Shinigami. Every corner of Shin's mind was invaded with alert and danger, it racked his brain and echoed in every corner of his mind.

Schala reacted well, Shin could definitely give her that. Although, in all honesty, it was a pretty basic attack and he didn't quite expect it to hit easily. However, what he didn't expect was a full on counter attack that could result in personal injury to himself. His blade began to grind against hers, sending orange sparks flying everywhere. The song of the sword filled the air for a split second, Shin didn't struggle against the block however. He simply went with the flow, hence why his face seemed so relaxed. Shin's above average senses kicked into gear. His eyes narrowed on her movements but not even he could predict what she would do completely. Anything he did would have to have been from pure reflex.

Shin felt a small push upwards on his arm. She had effectively parried the blow that was a given. He raised his eyebrow as she began to take a step into his personal space. Effectively attempting to cut off any breathing room or thinking space Shin would've otherwise had. However, that had it's downsides. For one, Shin was stronger and bigger naturally. Should Shin choose to initiate some kind of grapple that could be it. However, that wasn't Shin's fighting style and maybe she knew that, a skinny figure like Shin would never attempt to grapple someone. He preferred to go in, land a quick and effective hit and get out. They had been fighting long enough surely she would notice that. However, Shin didn't know much about how good her battle analysis was so he couldn't make such assumptions.

Her she comes. He thought to himself. He had finished his swing ages ago and she took a second step with her arm effectively coiled around his arm. Shin knew what was coming and he definitely did not want to stick around for it that was for definite. One might wonder how the hell Shin would dodge, how would he get out of this one? She had held onto his arm, meaning dodging normally wouldn't be as easy. But... Shin braced his arm, bringing towards his body slightly and tensing his arm full 100 strength and she would feel this for a split second before...

Before her eyes Shin was gone once again, having used the instantaneous step known as Shunpo. However, the shunpo wouldn't only have the effect of getting him out of reach it would have a pretty negative effect on his opponent. She had held onto him, however he had suddenly moved at a very high speed which she hadn't been prepared for while he had. The result would be that her arm was tugged forward suddenly at a very high speed. She would certainly lose her balance and fall forwards, flat on her face. However, since he had suddenly moved at 1500 speed she would suffer from a dislocated shoulder. Shin on the other hand had been the one who initiated the shunpo so had time to brace himself. As she had suddenly been pulled forward by his shunpo she would feel an audible pop in her shoulder before his arm ripped out of her hand and she face planted the sand.

After exiting the shunpo Shin would spin around, getting back into his typical one handed stance.

"Almost.. there.. Her blade was a mere inch away from contact. The man's defenses were side stepped and she was clear of any obstacles. It was within close quarters combat that Schala excelled. Despite being such small stature and a recent graduate, it was her experience as a Knight and cautious nature that aided in her confrontations. From the get go from observing the man's physique that he was naturally stronger than her. By how much wasn't quite so obvious of course. The physics and potential of spiritual bodies were unfathomable when considering how far a spirit can go. However, being a female her natural ability of being flexible gave her more leverage when it came to motions.

Shin was in the position that she desired and her Rapier whisking its way through the air. The moment seemed to last but an eternity. The first initial strike under the hot dessert sun. Beads of sweat protruding from the exposed surfaces of her robes. Several of them dripped down into the depths of her attire to gather in the fabric of the Princess' silk white bra. Her arm coiled in the arm of her rival as the space between them lapsed over. But, something was off. In her eyes Shin didn't appear to be frightened nor looking for a means to dodge. Perhaps, could it be...

It happened. A swell of reiatsu flared on her Energy Sensory for moment to indicate that he was about to use a technique. Which one? From their entire session Shin only displayed only a single technique, Shunpo. The Shinigami never revealed any other technique besides the stepping technique. She'd seen him use it several times and knew its capabilities. Shunpo allowed a sudden burst of speed for a single step that lasted but a moment. Yet, that single moment was all that was needed to evade, and it was that moment that Shin intended to use to have the woman play into his hand.

His arm tensed, "Princess!" Damn it.. she cursed herself. That was his plan. Simple and yet effective. Her arm was coiled around his, it tensed. The air itself felt as though it were being forced against her. Shunpo was being activated. Her entire body came flaunting forward as the man's body blurred from her sights. "Not over yet.. Exactly. Just as Shin would use her blunder to cause her harm, she would use that same blunder as a means to follow his movements. Indeed, it was going to leave a nasty result for the woman, but at the same time would still position her within striking range. After all, woman are more flexible than men.

It was only for a moment, as any Shunpo did, but Schala would use that moment to initiate her counter attack. She actually plunged herself into the man when falling over. Shin was much stronger than her in terms of physical strength, and Schala was indeed much lighter than he was. Adding in the burst of speed to his physical force it would be like a car hauling an empty trash can. All Schala had to do was leap forward into his pull when initiating the Shunpo. The result, however, was still the same. Only a moment it was. A single pop, or more like a snap echoed throughout the dunes of the lifeless sea of sand.

It was only a pop but the pain that came when the moment ceased was immense. One could say that someone opened a bottle of Champagne. Her arm was coiled around Shin's. Even as useless as it was it did keep Schala close to her target, close to Shin when he pulled. Her body acted like an anchor against his Shunpo, but to no avail. However, even if it did not impede his movements it did present Schala with another opportunity. She was a quick thinker as well as cautious in her movements. This however was a bit reckless for Schala, something was may have been required to face someone such as Shin. She would sacrifice a limb to deliver a decisive blow.

This was not something strange to Schala. For a Knight, they would be willing to sacrifice anything of themselves to deliver a critical blow to the enemy. If anythign Schala would still be in mid-air when the two emerge from the blurred movement of the Shunpo. The woman's are left lifeless around the arm of her foe before slipping out. To Shin, his eyes, filled with the woman nose diving into the sand a few inches in front of him. She was close to him, entering into a side roll back into his personal space, and whisking her right round with a horizontal slash across his stomach. He wasn't getting away.

Sand kicked up as she drew herself back in a ready position. Like a wolf about to pounce, as a wasp ready to sting. Eyes penetrating through the strains of dampened hair that rolled over her wounded shoulder. She panted heavily with a few winces from her dangling left arm. Those passionate eyes grew cold, then narrowed. "Princess.. can you hear me.. Princes.. "No longer. Go ahead 'Princess,' fight on."

Shin heard the audible pop loud and clear, it was like opening a bottle of champagne; even through the sound of shunpo he heard the audible pop which immediately indicated that his plan had been a success. She had been too quick that the Shinigami would stay still even if he had been gripped onto and his defences had been slipped past. Back in the slums of the Rukongai Shin's tactics were effective. While bigger foes were big and tried to overwhelm with brute force and muscle Shin didn't have any of that - especially being malnourished and underfed his whole life trying to overwhelm such men was a joke to even think about and he certainly would have been dead a long time ago. No, the Shinigami had to rely on his lithe figure, speed and evasiveness to get the job done and it worked like a charm; hence why he was still standing.

Although, this fight was different as they fought in very similar ways and Shin had noticed this. In fact (for once) Shin was the stronger opponent. That was certainly not something he was used to and as a result it was not something he was actually familiar with exploiting. However, he was an adaptive fighter; he was almost an expert at picking out pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages and promptly exploiting them as a result. Even better (from what Shin had picked up) he seemed to be physically faster by a slight margin, his body could react faster. Overall, Shin appeared to actually have the physical advantage but spiritually that was a grey area that he was not sure about. Shin didn't use Kido and he hadn't seen Schala use such techniques either.

A certain yet sudden rush of bloodthirsty thoughts rushed through Shin's mind as he imagined the kind of agony Schala would be going through right now. He didn't know anything about her pain tolerance so for all he knew she could be sobbing internally. Pain let someone know if their body was in danger but it was also a limiter, people couldn't focus as well when they were in pain and as a result their movements would become sloppier and less precise. Perhaps that would give Shin an advantage, especially since that arm was literally useless at this point and would only become worse as it stiffened which definitely wasn't the best scenario (for her at least).

They came out of the shunpo, everything instantly became clear to Shin once again: the golden sand, the bright sunlight, the blue sky, it all rushed right back into focus once again as they exited the shunpo. However, the one thing that truly stood out was that he could still feel Schala's tight grip against his forearm. A wave of frustration passed through him as it meant his plan had not fully worked. He hadn't loosed her grip and he wasn't free which meant his mobility was still limited. At this rate I'm gonna have to slice it right off.

However, Shin would not need to have worried because she _willingly_ let go herself and the momentum from their previous shunpo had carried over and she flew through the air like an oversized bird. She went right past him and she landed right into the sand. At this moment Shin had registered that she had gathered herself (after all she wouldn't have been moving at super fast speeds) but what she did was unexpected. He expected her to spin around, he expected her to move forwards back out of his personal space, he expected her to outright give up and beg for mercy. After all, it was only natural that she would do such a thing - Shin was a god in the making.

Oh, but she did none of those things; in fact she did was opposite. She rolled right back into him. She looked professional and pristine, almost flawless as she rolled back as if she'd been trained in acrobatics for a few years. Despite her dislocated shoulder she was so impressive she seemed to shimmer and mould as she rolled smoothly right back into the danger area. Shin actually had to sidestep (which was much quicker and easier than doing a full on roll) to give himself a bit more space and stop her rolling right into him. She was on her feet, in a crouched position like a cat when her rapier whirled around right towards his midsection.

Instead of his warm divine flesh it was met with cold bitter spiritual steel. Re-adjusting a sword took much less time and effort than fully rolling and slashing. Her rapier hit his katana with a cold clang, the song of their swords ringing through the air. All he had to do was lower his sword vertically in a downwards position in order to block her horizontal slash. In the corner of his good eye he saw that her arm was uselessly hanging limply, confirming that his earlier attack had been a success."Nice try." He said through his mocking grin as he quickly moved back out of her range, taking himself back out of the danger area. He got back into his typical one handed stance, eyeing her carefully.
