Thread Title: Which Squad Is Better? Participants: Kisala Shihoin vs Tsukuyomi World: Soul Society Death Setting: Non Death Enabled Rating: R Location: A wide out sparring ring that has a few other shinigami watching. The ring is on the ground and made of stone so it's dense and smooth. The ring is about one hundred feet in every direction so there is more then enough room for the fight to take place. Special Conditions: N/A Circumstances: The Squads 2 and 7 are arguing over which has the better low ranking shinigami. So two of the shinigami are ordered to fight one another by higher ranking shinigami of the squad.

This is stupid, Kisala thought to herself as she entered the ring. She had been ordered to fight one of the lower ranking members of squad seven. If it was just as some sort of joint training exercise she would have been more than O.K with, but that was not the case. She had been ordered to settle a pitiful dispute between the two squads. There have been arguments and debates over which of the squads were better. To Kisala both squads two and seven served important roles in the soul society, but the pride of the higher ups just can't be kept in check.
Kisala tried to reason with her superiors. "One squad cannot be judged by the strength of one low level member." She tried to argue. "It takes the whole squad to function properly. The captain, vice captain, and the seated officers as well to make a squad truly strong." But it seemed that her words had fallen on ears deafened by pride and arrogance. It infuriated her. To see people of position and responsibility acting like children.
"I don't care what you think!" Her superior shouted at her while she was voicing her opposition. "As long as you are under my command you will do as I say! Do you get me!?" he shouted getting right up into Kisala's face. Kisala did not flinch or back down. She glared at her commanding officer with her burning orange eyes. She gritted her teeth before answering her commander. "yes sir," She answered in a growl. She turned away from him. She was too irritated to look at him any more.
She entered the ring keeping her hands off her sword. She had to look at it a different way. She could think of it as a way to meet someone from a different squad than her own. Who knew, maybe this person was loathed to fight as she was. It wasn't that she was a pacifist of anything like that. She just hated fighting over something stupid. She took a deep breath and waited for her opponent to step forward into the ring from the opposite side.
Kisala stood reasonably tall at five feet ten inches. She stood proud and determined despite her reluctance to fight. Her off white air swayed in the gentle breeze. Her fiery orange eyes scanned the crowds for her opponent. She was a muscular woman. Her muscles were well defined which looked a bit odd compared to most of the other squad twelve members. She looked like she would be at home with squad eleven. She we well endowed, which was the only thing she would change if she could She kept pulling her uniform over her bust as if afraid they would bust through. She tried not to let it worry her though.
Seconds slowly turned into minutes. Kisala was getting tired of waiting for her opponent. "This is a waste of my time." She muttered to herself, so no one would be able to hear. She crossed her arms over her chest drumming her fingers against her muscular arms. She took several deep breaths knowing that she shouldn't allow the wait to get to her. If anything, maybe they will see how stupid this whole fight was and call it off, but she really doubted that.

"You there runt I order you to fight against that woman from squad two." The large man was standing right in front of Tsukuyomi shouting at the top of his lungs over and over again as Tsukuyomi spoke not a word. Tsukuyomi was simply standing there surrounded by the other members of squad seven. A squad that was tasked with the duty of protecting the peace in Soul Society. What a joke! This was the complete opposite and was only going to cause true chaos if it was allowed to continue much longer.
Tsukuyomi wasn't completely sure how he would fair against another Shinigami. He had only trained in the art for the last few months and had been told he was a prodigy that would only ever be seen every hundred years or so. Tsukuyomi took it as a sign that everyone in Soul Society was a kiss ass to someone who scored higher or finished faster then they originally had themselves. He had only been a Shinigami the past few weeks and so far it seemed that nothing was like what the academy had spoken of.
He hadn't had the chance to leave yet and fight against a creature known as a hollow. God he hadn't even had enough time for himself. All he had been tasked with so far was paper work from the higher up ranking members of his squad that had grown to lazy to do it themselves. Tsukuyomi had been wanting to go into the wilds like he used to and try to find the small animals that seemed so much more at peace then the other Shinigami. The fact that the one who was in charge right now was literally spitting without realizing it as he screamed was irritating.
The man was more then a foot taller than Tsukuyomi however that wasn't out of the norm. Tsukuyomi was a rather short boy who in fact was far to young to even be a Shinigami. He had been told that it was rare for a soul to even try to be a Shinigami if they were younger then one hundred years. Then that it took at least fifty years of training and practice in the academy to be accepted as a Shinigami. Yet Tsukuyomi was only fourteen and still young yet had achieved far more then most others could even hope in such a short amount of time.
"I've told you already I don't agree with causing this much chaos. We're suppose to be the police yet your making us all look like retarded drunk losers." Tsukuyomi turned his face slightly meeting the gaze of the man in front of him. The fact was that Tsukuyomi's eyes were closed due to his blindness and now the man saw that he was in fact blind. It didn't matter though Tsukuyomi had just insulted him gravely and the man was going to make him pay for it.
"YOU GET IN THERE NOW! IF NOT YOUR GOING TO BE ON DESK DUTY FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Tsukuyomi let out a sigh as the threat against him was voiced. He really didn't want to fight against whoever this woman was in squad two, but he had no choice now. Even if he was going to be used like a tool by this fucking retard it'd still be better then wasting five years of his life doing someone else's paper work. Little did they know though that they had been appointing a blind boy to do it. . . dumbasses.
Seppinginto the ring from the crowd everything went silent as all of the Shinigami saw the small boy in black step up. It didn't seem right that he was going to fight this rather large woman who seemed more in touch with a man's style then that of a female. Tsukuyomi could finally hear a decent deal without the degree of shouting and cheers. His face was towards the female with his hands behind his head interlocked by the fingers. "I'm sorry about this, but my squad isn't giving me any choice."

Kisala was not an arrogant woman, but she had to admit that she was a little disappointing that such a small boy was sent to fight her. She looked at the boy not really sure how to proceed. Did squad seven really decide to send him out to fight her? She shrugged as she sighed inwardly. She was only reminded how stupid this whole thing was. Why did the stealth force and the police force have to have this petty squabble anyway?
The boy seemed relaxed though. He stood with his hands behind his head looking at her. "I'm sorry about this, but my squad isn't giving me any choice." She was glad that she was not the only one that did not want to fight like this. "Its ok," She replied with a smile. "I wasn't given much of a choice either. This whole thing is stupid if you ask me." She shifted onto her back foot. Her zanpakuto clanked against her hip as she shifted. "If this was just training for myself I would not be opposed to this, but I refuse to fight for the pride of arrogant superiors."
She bowed respectfully straightening back to her full height with a hint of a smile on her face. At least this kind is respectful and well mannered. She always wondered how it was the assholes of the soul society that managed to get promoted. Kisala didn't have any ambitious goals of promotions and maybe becoming a captain. Kisala only wanted to be the best that she could be. She pushed herself to the absolute limits trying to get better and stronger. If that got the attention of other and happened to get her promoted, then that was just fine with her.
She could hear the shouts of her squad mates and superior behind her. They wanted this fight to start already, and she was sure that he was getting similar "encouragement" from his own squad. This really was stupid, but it would seem like neither of them had a choice in the matter. Kisala narrowed her eyes and gripped the hilt of her sword. She didn't draw it yet. She hesitated seeing that he didn't have a Zanpakuto of his own. She let go of her sword bringing her hands in an upright position.
She had not had that much practice in hand to hand combat. She preferred her own blade and using throwing weapons. She would need to see about learning some hand to hand combat from her sister when she had the chance. She bent her knees and kept them springy. She didn't really want to hurt the boy, but there had to be a fight, so might as well fight on a more equal playing field. Her superiors just said that she had to fight, they didn't say how, or how well.
"Looks like they are getting impatient. We should get this whole mess over with. Maybe next time we meet, it will be on more pleasant circumstances." She was waiting for the boy to get ready. She was not going to fight someone who was not ready or willing to fight, unless they were a hollow. That was the only exception to that rule. "I am ready whenever you are. I am Kisala by the way. Kisala Shihoin."

So the female Shinigami that he was being forced to fight against always was being forced by her own squad. This was pointless it didn't matter which squad was stronger then the other. Honestly from what Tsukuyomi had been told since he joined the Shinigami ranks was that things were far worse then anyone outside of the Shinigami knew. There had been an attack against them by some other race that started with a Q. Well Tsukuyomi just thought that it was something minimal until he found out that the other race completely fucked over Soul Society.
Honestly, instead of fighting one another to get a little more arrogant about your choice of which squad you belong to they should all be working. They needed to repair Soul Society and actually work to get stronger and take out this other race. Tsukuyomi was already going into a horrible mood both from the idiots causing this conflict and the actual amount of noise that they all were causing. Well it seemed that this woman felt pretty much the same way that he did on the whole subject and what should be done instead.
It was quite a shame and perhaps after this the two of them would e able to help one another train instead of being forced to fight one another. As the girl bowed to Tsukuyomi though he didn't return the sign of respect. In truth it wasn't his fault all of the cheering around them had caused him to not pay close enough attention and missed over the slight sound of her movement. Tsukuyomi had to correct that problem now if he was going to stand a chance. "All of you be quiet! That's how you're all going to get a good show if you want one."
Tsukuyomi was actually forced to speak like one of these retards in order for them to be quiet and allow him to focus better. That was when he heard the sound of this female's hands touching her zanpakuto. Tsukuyomi's ears twitched slightly at the sound and then as her hand moved away from it he could tell that she hadn't actually drawn her blade. He couldn't understand why, but from then on would made sure to be mindful of the fact that she could slash him most likely at any moment.
Tsukuyomi was able to hear the sound of her body moving yet not enough to actually know the location of her arms. He could just tell that she switched up her position slightly, but was still in the same place. "Looks like they are getting impatient. We should get this whole mess over with. Maybe next time we meet, it will be on more pleasant circumstances. I am ready whenever you are. I am Kisala by the way. Kisala Shihoin." Tsukuyomi nodded his head forwards slightly as a signal that he heard her and was ready to start the fight.
"My name is Tsukuyomi." Right after he spoke the small dark haired boy rushed towards the Kisala. He hopped up off the ground when he got within a few feet of her. He was a few feet up off the ground now and was swinging his right leg forwards in an attempt to kick Kisala across the face. He was far enough away that only the actual foot of his right leg would make contact. As he did this Tsukuyomi was listening to everything he could specifically at the location that Kisala was standing.

"All of you be quiet! That's how you're all going to get a good show if you want one." Well it seemed that this one had some spirit in him after all. The boy introduced himself as Tsukuyomi. She would have to remember that name for later. Right now she was ready to fight, and it seemed that he was too. She also noticed that he was blind. She suddenly felt a little bad about fighting a blind person. She knew that he must be capable to be a shinigami, but still being forced to fight someone with a physical handicap. Those thoughts were tossed aside when Tsukuyomi attacked.
It was a standard high kick. Kisala pulled her head back letting the kick go by. Kisala moved slightly more than half her full speed. She wanted to see how well Tsukuyomi was able at tracking her with sound along. Of course as she pulled her body body back, Her robes rustled and snapped with her sudden and quick moments. She would then want to see how well the boy was at defending himself. She found her balance quickly and readied her attack.
Kisala leaned forward slightly before moving in to attack. She threw a punch aimed right at his chest. The punch came at the same speed in which she dodged. The punch itself was nothing special. It would probobly hurt him a little bit, but it wouldn't be anything truly damaging. After that she would spin around bringing her left leg around in a spinning back kick aimed at his head. The cloth around her legs whiped in the wind generated by her leg no doubt warning him of the attack.
Post by Tsukuyomi Kawada on Mar 7, 2015 17:42:25 GMT -5
Tsukuyomi felt the air glide over his leg and after a moment could tell that Kisala had been able to evade his kick. He hadn't known immediately where she was however the sound of her clothing gave him what he needed to acquire that information. She was still pretty much in the same spot she had been standing. She must have moved very slightly in order to evade his kick and from the sound she was moving inward to attack him. Tsukuyomi still had momentum in his spin and decided to go ahead with a follow up attack while she attacked.
It was definitely not the smartest of tactical decisions, but right now Tsukuyomi was not in a fight for his life. He was in a contest that had been put together by nothing , but arrogant fools. So as Kisala moved back and began to throw her punch aimed at Tsukuyomi's chest the boy spun and brought out his left leg. This caused Tsukuyomi to take Kisala's punch not in his chest, but instead on the left side of his ribs. As that happened Kisala would feel Tsukuyomi's left leg kicking her across her face.
Tsukuyomi could hear the sound of her clothing still moving and taking it as a sign that she was going to attack the boy leaned his face backwards. He had already be falling from the height he had been at due to gravity and now as Kisala's back kick came towards him he narrowly evaded the kick just as she had done to his own first attempt. Tsukuyomi could feel his feet touch the ground and he stopped moving as soon as it happened awaiting the attack that would come from Kisala.
Post by Kisala Shihoin on Mar 7, 2015 18:24:00 GMT -5
Kisala had managed to hit him, but not in the desired target. She hit him in the ribs, which was just as good as any to place to hit him if not better. Her fist would defiantly cause some pain there, and maybe leave a bruise but not much more than that. He kick however missed the boy as he fell back to the ground. It was a goo thing in her mind. She didn't want to end the fight too early and humiliate the boy.
Though she didn't really think that he would have tried to beat her attack with one of his own. The kick he had thrown hit her in the face, but the difference in their spiritual pressure must have been greater than he thought. It hit her, but she wouldn't seem to react to it. It didn't hurt since her spiritual pressure protected her from his attack. That was disappointing to her. She had some understanding of how spiritual pressure protects an individual from physical attacks, but not reitsu based ones.
So unless he knows some kido, this fight won't last long. She thought looking at the boy as she jumped back trying to think of what to do next. This had the potential to be a one sided fight if he didn't know kido, and she could hurt him without even doing anything if he landed too many hits on her. She shook her head with a sigh. It was nothing against him, but squad seven really should have picked someone else to fight her.
Kisala didn't have time to think about it as her fellow squad two members shouted for blood, and for her to go on the attack. She didn't have a choice. The only thing she can do is just make it last as long as possible and hold back. Hopefully the boy was smart enough to think of something on his own to get around the difference in spiritual pressure. If not, she would just have to hold back as much as possible without being chewed out by her superiors.
Kisala charged in again planning to throw a right hook at the boy's jaw. She wound it up letting the boy hear her clothes billowing to warn him of the attack. She would see if it was enough of a warning for him to avoid it or not soon enough. She pulled the speed of the punch to about his speed and was not throwing it at full power. She refused to give the crowd their little spectral. If they wanted a fight so badly, they shout be out there fighting hollows.
Kisala would fallow the punch up with a left spinning back fist also aimed at his head. Much like the other punch it was exaggerated to allow him some warning that it was coming. She slowed the speed and eased of the power wondering what he would do. She has been aware of her unusual high amount of spiritual pressure since she became a shinigami. It aided her in the training fights that she was in, as well as her fights with hollows. Unfortunately, it was good in these pointless fights as well.

Tsukuyomi felt as if his leg had hit nothing really just air even though he knew he had landed his kick against Kisala. Right as his leg moved away from her skin he felt pain coursing through his leg. In the next moment he felt like a bunch of tiny knives were being dragged across his leg. For those who could see Tsukuyomi's uniform would be torn on that section and a small amount of blood burst out onto the ground.
Tsukuyomi landed on the ground and could feel the pain in his leg. He wasn't one hundred percent sure what had happened due to his blindness keeping him from the knowledge of if she had used some type of kido or weapon. In his head though Tsukuyomi knew that neither of those could be the cause. He would have been able to hear a kido activate or the weapon being pulled out from wherever it was stored. No there was only one thing that could have caused this type of reaction without him having heard anything to give him a warning.
Kisala had far more spiritual pressure then he did and it was causing his own attacks to turn against him. He remembered being taught the basics on how spiritual pressure worked when it clashed against itself. Whichever side had the large quantity would win which meant that Kisala's reserves were larger then his. That caused a large problem for Tsukuyomi. He wasn't sure how he would deal with her without kicking her he just had to figure something out.
So as Kisala moved in on him and began to swing towards him delivering a punch aimed at his jaw. Tsukuyomi was shifting into the more evasion style of Baguazhang. It was one that was based of swift and agile movements in order to keep harm from occurring to those who practiced it. It always aided somewhat in a few offensive manners, but right now Tsukuyomi wasn't even sure if the less aggressive style would be effective against Kisala's spiritual pressure.
Leaning backwards again Tsukuyomi felt the air breeze past his face as Kisala's hand moved right in front of him. He was stepping backwards making sure to put the majority of his weight on his left leg. That leg was the more balanced oriented one anyway so sing it like this wasn't a handicap at all for the young boy. What came next was the sound f Kisala moving in a circular manner. She was spinning that much he knew, but her feet were both still on the ground he could hear them sliding on it.
So she was going to try and punch him again that was the plan. Tsukuyomi lunged to the side tucking slightly which allowed him to hit the ground and round over into a semi crouched position. That had been how the second attack had been evaded and now Tsukuyomi was turning around to face the direction that Kisala was still in. He had to come up with something, but right now all he could do was fight her in hand to hand combat or evade. It didn't look like he could win right now.

This was even more ridiculous than she originally thought. This kid can not even physically harm her even if he wanted to. He didn't seem to know any Kido, or else she was sure that he would have used it already. She still needed to be sure though. She look at the boy getting into a relaxed position. She put one hand on her hip popping it out to one side giving her a confident if not cocky stance just for the crowds sake. Though they could all just fuck off for all she cared.
"Hey Tsuki," She called out in an even, friendly voice. She decided to shorten his name because it was a bit much for her to say. Plus, she never cared about formalities like full names and the like. "Do you know any Kido?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest. This question would decide the rest of this fight. If he did and was willing to use it on her, then she would keep fighting until he ran out of energy, if not she would end the fight here and now.
The crowd of squad twos shouted for her to start beating on the kid. She could hear her commanding officer in particular shouting anything he could think of to motivate her to fight. He shouted, curses, threats, and everything in between. She ignored him though. She doubted that the vise captain or the captain would like to hear that officers were using their underlings in fights to try to display superiority among each other.

Tsukuyomi was still in the half crouch listening through the sounds of all the cheering and shouting for further combat. All of these idiots were making his sense of hearing almost useless and if that happened then Kisala would definitely be able to do something against him if she tried hard enough. Tsukuyomi wasn't liking this he knew that even though he graduated incredibly early that he was far from strong and that he needed further training to develop his potential.
That was when he heard the sound of Kisala's voice once again. She had called him by a shortened version of his actual name. Tsukuyomi wasn't sure if he liked something like that. It didn't seem appropriate and was on the ledge of falling into rude territory. As it was though he just continued to focus on her voice for if nothing else it was allowing him to gain the knowledge of her current location.
What came next was a question from her audited from a friendly voice. It seemed that Kisala was at least trying to be friendly towards them which made a fair deal of sense on a number of factors. Both she and him were not happy to be put against one another for they didn't agree with the idea nor the reasoning it seemed. On top of that they were both Shinigami so that immediately gave little reason to be unfriendly towards one another.
She asked if he had knowledge in the Shinigami spell art of Kido. Sadly that was the only aspect of being a Shinigami that Tsukuyomi seemed completely inept at performing. Even when in the academy he had been instructed on its use at the lowest level. When he had attempted them even with the incantations there had been no sign of activation. "I have no kido techniques Kisala, but what does it matter?" It might not have been the wisest thing to speak the truth, but Tsukuyomi wasn't a liar.

Kisala nodded to when he said that he did not know any Kido. There was nothing more to prove here. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that the boy stood no chance against her. He could not harm her physically thanks to her high amount of spiritual pressure, and without Kido, he could do no damage to her. If she was like any of the others, she would just take her time and pummel the boy at her leisure. Good thing for both of them that she was not.
"No offense to you, but you stand no chance against me as you are now. Without kido, you cannot harm me with my high spiritual pressure. It would be best for you to concede with dignity now. This fight is over." She turned quickly letting her clothes snap sharply as her footsteps could be heard walking away. She stopped turning her head back to the boy with a smile, though he could not see it. She made sure that there was a friendly tone in her voice. "Anytime you want to train, come find me. I would like to help you get stronger. Until then fare well."
She waved to him as she walked out of the ring and back to the direction of the squad two barracks which would require going through her squad mates first. They were all silent for the moment. She wasn't sure what they were thinking, but she was sure that her commanding officer was about to bust several veins from the look on his face. His face was contorted in a look of shock and rage. She would have to get an ear full from him sooner or later, but now she had a few words for him.
"You miserable--" He didn't get to finish before she got right into his face piercing his eyes with her burning orange orbs. It was clear that she was not in the mood for any of his shit. She would not draw her sword on him, but she was not afraid to strike him with her fist if he made any aggressive moves against her. The other squad members around them backed off looking a bit scare of the young Shihoin. She was not going to let this opportunity go to waste while she had their attention.
"Now listen here sir!" She said through gritted teeth. She didn't like to involve the seated officers in any of her problems, but since this was a special circumstance she would use it. "I am all fine and happy with training to get stronger, and if that means practicing with other shinigami so much the better, but if you force me or anyone else to fight in these pointless and might I add frowned upon little fights you force your underlings in, then I will be forced to report this to the seated officers and see what they have to say." She turned and walked back to the barracks ignoring anything that her superior was saying if he said anything at all.

Tsukuyomi was still in the half crouch and listening the best that he could when Kisala spoke in the same calm tone that she had been for the last few moments. This match if one could even call it that was short and it seemed like not only Tsukuyomi was growing far more irritated with it. However, that was when Kisala spoke and Tsukuyomi took a fair deal of offense from her tongue. She spoke of how much stronger she was and even with his pride Tsukuyomi knew that her spiritual pressure was far superior to his own and was keeping him from hurting her.
The crowd was now raging in a fury at the fact that the match that the two of them had been forced to enact in was being ended by the Shinigami from squad two. In all honesty Tsukuyomi wasn't speaking and showed no intent to keep fighting or even speak with Kisala over what she had said. Right now he was in a state of rage yet only a small fraction was directed at her. The majority of his hate was inwards and at himself for not being strong enough.
This was something that he was expected to do not only by his squad which he could honestly not care less about right now, but also the memory of his mother. He had vowed to himself that he would grow strong in order to track down his father and find out the truth. He wasn't even close no matter how much he was told that he was a prodigy. He was only strong for someone blind not the average person. That was when Tsukuyomi heard the sound of Kisala's clothing snapping as she turned away and began to walk.
Taking this chance to do the same Tsukuyomi turned around and began to walk from the ring that the two of them had been fighting in. As he did that though the squad member of division seven walked up towards him screaming in his face at how disappointing he was in the match. "How dare you turn your back and start to walk away. I don't care if she says that she can't be hurt by you! I told you to beat the shit out of her now do it maggot!"
The man was spitting again in his rage and Tsukuyomi honestly had, had enough of it. Instead of using his legs to strike out at the Shinigami kicking him with every bit of strength in his leg like Tsukuyomi truly wanted to do the small boy vanished from sight. The boy had used shunpo to get away from everyone just so he wouldn't have to deal with everything. If he got assigned more paper work for such an action then fine. They would eventually realize he is blind and have to redo everything with no actual punishment being possible for him.
