The eyes of the Bount mercenary widened underneath that porcelain white mask. He was slightly shocked to see that the young Quincy had tricked him. It seemed the attack had only been used as bait. The large arrow that had been fired, despite using up so much reiatsu to form, had been used to bait the Bount. Why the young Quincy would use such a powerful attack as bait made sense to the Bount. By using a powerful attack like that, he had been able to trick him into using an equally powerful defense to protect himself. The young Quincy had probably figured that it was during the moment of defending that he could have an opportunity to attack. It was a very risky strategy. He’s low on stamina from Blutsauger. He’s probably doing whatever he can now just to survive. The Quincy was running on fumes now, and that last attack had probably drained him even more. It was all futile, however. All of his attempts. All of his efforts. All of it was in vain.
The Bount’s eyes followed the Quincy easily enough. While using that technique to defend himself had drained him, it hadn’t taken everything out of him completely. He wasn’t as drained of stamina as the Quincy was. He, who had been pressuring the young Quincy mercenary since the beginning of their battle, had stamina to spare. He, who had been toying with the young Quincy from the beginning of their game of cat-and-mouse, was still full of energy. His reiatsu was at about half now because of that last technique, but he had much more reiatsu and stamina to spare than his opponent, who looked like he was ready to collapse before him. It was futile for the Quincy to fight on, and yet he did. It was to be expected. Since the beginning of their battle, the young boy had been fighting with that same determination he once held himself.
As the orange mist that had shielded him from the massive arrow from earlier was dispersing, his eyes were following the boy. Coupling his sight with his energy sensory, he looked up to find the young Quincy in a cartwheel above him with an arrow notched and ready to fire into him. ”You don’t realize how pitiful you look right now,” the Bount mercenary spoke when he noticed the Quincy hesitate in mid-air. Why he had frozen, was anyone’s guess. Nonetheless, that small moment of hesitation had given him enough time to prepare his next defense even as the gas was still dispersing. ”So, allow me to end your misery now. Forgive me for delaying.” this he said in a cold voice, a creepy synthetic monotone that would send chills down the Quincy’s back because of how much that tone differed from his much playful tone before. There was no way to move in time after using such a straining technique, so he only had one choice. The next technique would not be as straining for him as the first had been. This one, while draining on his stamina, would be easier to use than the other had been. This one, he had trained and honed more than he had that first one. Thus, his next defense to the Quincy’s onslaught of crimson arrows would be second nature.
{Now This}
As the arrows rained down on him, reiatsu expanded from his body. His reiatsu, which took on that bright golden hue, burst from his body all around him and expanded. It expanded outwards like a sphere of sorts just as the arrows impacted. It stopped the arrows which slammed into it and then pushed outwards, deflecting them in multiple different directions. It continued expanding, moving out with incredible speed as it did. The young Quincy would be quite surprised to see his attacks so easily deflected once again. It might even anger him, frustrate him to see his attack so easily swatted aside by the Bount mercenary’s reiatsu alone. The Quincy would have no idea of the type of technique that was being used to defend against his arrows. The technique, which was called Ken, was known only by the most powerful in the Human World. Only those who had fully mastered the techniques available to those dwelling in the Land of the Living had access to such a power.
The sphere continued outwards even after deflecting the arrows and the young Quincy would also find himself in danger as he attempted to appear five feet behind the Bount. The sphere of reiatsu continued moving outwards until it expanded to a maximum distance of 25 feet from Anarchy in all directions. Having moved 5 feet behind him, there was no way that the young Quincy would find himself escaping the sphere’s onslaught completely. Given that he was also already in mid-attack, it would be incredibly difficult for him to even move away in time to escape it. The sphere shaped aura of golden reiatsu would plow into him with a strength of 1250, a strength that was enough to shatter many of his bones if he was hit directly. It was a strength that would leave him devastated if he was hit and left unable to even move. That would be it for the Quincy. There was no way he would be able to continue once that aura of reiatsu impacted him.
The Bount stood still as the Quincy was blasted away and sent flying into the window of a store behind him. The bruised and broken body would impact the window and shatter all the glass as it crashed through it, until he finally landed in a pile of the shattered glass. It was then that the aura of reiatsu would recede once again into the Bount’s body, pulling back into him at a rapid speed. Once it did, there was heaving from the Bount mercenary, that would be inaudible to the broken Quincy. His breath came in quickly for a few seconds, and then when he finally gained control of it, he breathed more slowly, more deeply. He took a few more seconds of breathing slowly like that before he finally moved again. Slowly, his footsteps could be heard approaching the young Quincy, if he ended up remaining conscious after all the pain he had just been inflicted by that aura. The footsteps would stop just outside of the window where the young boy’s body lay and there, the menacing shadow of that monster who called himself Anarchy would spread over the boy’s broken body. His appearance in that moment would be enough to subdue any form of determination left in the boy. That, and the words he spoke to the young Quincy before he left.
”Today just wasn’t your day, mate. But, you should be glad…you’re not worth killing today. So keep fighting, and keep getting stronger. And on the day when you’re finally ready, I’ll be back for you.”
Anarchy chose to leave the broken Quincy with those last words, delivered in that synthetic, almost robotic-like voice of his. He had planted a seed, and that was enough. The young Quincy had the drive, he could tell. He had the determination. And now, he had given him something to channel it towards. The Bount was unsure of what exactly had given him so much motivation, but whatever it was reminded him of what drove him. Either way, he would not be killing the Quincy today, and it didn’t matter if he didn’t collect his money for the kill. He was never in it for the money anyway. He was only in it for the fun of the fight.
Jin’s Remaining Reiatsu: 2200/4000 (-200 for Martial Discipline: Ken)
Jin’s Reiatsu Strength: 1200
Hitzeschutz Cooldown: 1/2
{Technique}
Technique Name: [Martial Discipline: Ken]
Class: [1]
Technique Type: [Human World Dweller Technique]
Usable By: [Bount, Fullbringers, Mod Souls]
Technique Element: [None]
Technique Description and Effects: [Insert Below]
Think about it this way. Most any human with spiritual powers should know the four basic techniques of the human world: Willpower, Output, Movement, Energy Generate. Any who fails to know these is simply a low class combatant. To be a true contender, these techniques are necessary.
Well, likewise, knowing Ken is what puts a human world dweller in the upper echelon of the human world's spiritual abilities scale. Oftentimes, high level contracts or organizations won't even accept someone who does not know Ken. Let's explain. Martial Discipline refers to a mental or physical discipline, or both. In this case, it means disciplining one's soul. It is tempering the soul to achieve a certain effect. This is where Ken Comes in. That's what this technique is. Confused? What this technique does can be located below.
Ken is the next step from Willpower, Output, Movement, and Energy Generate. Ken focuses the user's soul into an aura around their body. What this technique does is utilize the spiritual aura of its master to create a glowing field of energy around the user. The field extends a quarter inch off the skin for every 100 reiatsu strength the user possesses. What this field does is repel incoming attacks by utilizing the current physical strength of the user combined with the current reiatsu strength of the user. That's the strength of the aura. It repels them, but doesn't destroy them. It simply deflects them or blasts them away. Simultaneously, the user produces an intense feeling of intimidation which would cause even the most tempered of warriors to feel extreme fear. Wild animals will flee instantly from this aura. The aura can, if the range of the user is wide enough, actually be directed at and focused straight onto a certain target or group of targets.
How to use technique: [Insert Below]
Simply activate it at will. The reiatsu cost to activate it is 200 reiatsu per post active. The user must know all four HWD main techniques to learn this one. This is considered an extension of all four.
Technique Drawbacks (Limitations, repercussions for use, etc) (Insert Below)
The aura of intimidation can be resisted completely by the use of an opponent's Ken, regardless of user stats or class. Otherwise, if the opponent does not know Ken, then it can be resisted by those of superior class. This technique can be broken by techniques of superior class, or by opponents of superior class. It is also extremely fatiguing to use, especially in consecutive posts. The user must remain immobile when activating this technique, and cannot use any attacks, other defenses, or other spiritual abilities while Ken is active. Luckily, to those who have mastered the technique, it can be switched on and off in a split second as long as previous conditions are met. The user burns up more stamina in a single post of Ken than if they were going all out with movement the post before. Therefore, knowing and using this technique both require built up stamina.
