Midnight Training (Solo Training NDE, R)

Jak was walking home from his martial arts master/land lord's place heading back to his apartment above his mothers flower shop. The wind blew his spiky hair around as he walked through the empty streets of Karakura town. Jak had on his usual black vest on and blue jean pants as well as his sour expression. He always seemed to be in a sour mood. He was in he mood for some more training, and luckily for him, there were no shortage of people on the streets at night.

It didn't take him long to find a group of delinquents and thugs heading his way. They all seemed around his age and all had the same uniform on. They must be coming home from some act of delinquency, but he had to ask, why do it in your school uniform? It made no sense to Jak, but then again he didn't care. He only wanted to put someone into the ground. He changed his path slightly so he would bump into the leader of the gang rather hard. The leader of the stumbled from the hit, but backed into one of the larger boys in the group catching his balance.

"Hey what the hell is wrong with you?" He asked loudly practically shouting at Jak. Jak just stood there letting him yell and bark like the yappy dog he was. The silence he was getting from Jak seemed to make him even more angry. "Well, what do you have to say for yourself punk?" One of the larger boys stepped between them shifting into a fighting stance. He was tall around six foot five and had very short brown hair. He was built like a food ball player. 

"What's the matter? Too scared to answer?" He asked with a deep voice. He moved his hand to poke Jak on the shoulder. The others fanned out around him surrounding the boy. Jak kept track of all six of the boys judging them by their size and stances their threat levels. Right now the only one that was a big threat was the tall one that stood in front of him and maybe the leader. People like that were always the least predictable.

The leader of the group pipped up again to throw one more insult at the boy thinking that he had the upper hand. He walked past his tall body guard confidently with an arrogant smile on his face. "Once we are done with you, we are going to find your mother, and we are going to use her like the whore she is right in front of--" He didn't get a chance to finish his threat let alone dodge the hard right cross that Jak landed on his face. The fist was red hot with anger leaving a minor burn on the gang leader's face.

"No one ever threats, or insults my mother." Jak said in a low growling voice. The chains around his arm clanked together as he raised his arms up into a fighting position his right arm glowing an angry red. He can take insults and threats to himself. He can take a few blows before finally attacking, but he will not tolerate any of those things directed at his mother even if she is dead. He looked at the leader with his crimson eyes which promised unrelenting pain.

The leader of the group held his nose as he laid on his back moaning in pain. For a moment all of the guy's henchmen could just stare at their leader rolling on the ground. The large man was the first to recover. It was clear that he was going to be his first opponent as the others went to help their leader to his feet. Didn't say anything as he threw a hard right hook aimed at Jak's chin. 

The man telegraphed his punch, so it might as well have been coming from the moon. Jak easily pulled his head back to let the punch fly past him. He pulled his own left fist back as he did so. When he came back forward, he threw a hook of his own to the large man's stomach colliding hard with it. His skin and muscles rippled with the impact as he bent forward in pain. Jak fallowed up with a right upper cut, but the man recovered in time to pull his head back. 

The man threw a hard double punch to Jak's head. Jak was hit with the leading left hand, and dodged the hard right that came behind. The large man didn't stop there. He brought his left leg around for a hard round house kick to Jak's gut while Jak was in the middle of his dodge. The man slammed his shin into Jak's floating ribs causing Jak to stumble.

Jak caught himself before he could fall. The man tried to rush Jak while he was off balance, but that was what Jak was counting on. Jak got low under the man's arms and wrapped his own arms around his opponent's waist. With a heave, Jak lifted the taller man up off the ground. Jak let their combined weight tilt him backwards and gravity cause them to fall. Jak landed on his back turning slightly so he wouldn't land flat on the hard ground while his opponent's neck his the ground fallowed by the rest of him. 

Jak scrambled to his feet looking at the rest of the gang who gawked at the young fighter. He had a few marks on him and he thought that he might have bruised a rib, but other than that he was fine. Jak popped his neck and knuckles again looking at each one again relishing the fear that he saw in some of their eyes and confusion in others.

"Well anyone else want to try their luck?" Jak asked taking a few steps to them. They reflexivly stepped back the same amount of steps before one of them started doing the math. "Hey its only one guy! Come on, he can't take all of us at once!" The rest of the group nodded in agreement. As they let their leader go and all rushed Jak. Jak just smiled and ran at the group drawing his right arm back to throw at the first one within range.

Jak's first punch floored the first person the came within range, but he didn't have time to make sure he stayed down. He needed to deal with the rest of them. He was hit with a wild hay-maker, but returned the favor with a right uppercut of his own. It was a throng of punches and kicks. Jak and the group broke apart allowing everyone to catch their breath and inspect injuries. The gang and Jak just watched each other for a while making sure that one didn't try to jump the other.

Jak had a few cuts and bruises already from the punches that he took. He was also panting fairly heavily. The rest of the boys fared little better. Despite being out numbered, Jak was still very capable of dealing with all of them. He will just need to adjust his strategy a little bit. Instead of fighting all of them at the same time, he could either take them out with his whip, or he could try fighting them one at a time, or at least a couple at a time. 

Before Jak figured out which one he wanted to do, the decision was made for him. They all pulled out some sort of make shift weapon. One had a large piece of pipe, several had small knives, and one even had a pair of brass knuckles. Jak just smiled as he unwrapped the chain around his arm. He was resistant to it's heat, but he doubted that the thugs before him were so lucky. His weapon did have the reach advantage, but they could easily catch it that way. He would have to come up with another way to use it. 

He put the chain back until he had about the length of a pair of nun-chucks in his hands. He would have to fight defensively if he wanted to come out of this one without too much injury. It appears that they had decided to come at him a few at a time to avoid accidentally hitting each other. That was all fine and dandy for Jak. That would only make it much easier for him. He took several deep breaths as the first two boys approached him.

They both had switch blades at the ready. One carried his in the more orthodox way and the other carried it in the reversed grip. Jak got on the balls of his feet as they ran at him. The first one made a thrust at his abdomen, while the other tried to bring his knife down on Jak's shoulder. Jak used the chain to pushed the first attacker's arm passed him, then held it up vertical to catch the arm of the other one. Jak twisted the chain around the boy's arm capturing it, as he pulled it behind the boy's back. He jerked the arm up causing the boy to drop the knife with a pop of his shoulder. 

Jak pushed him away as the first one came again slashing wildly. The first cut only crazed his chest giving Jak a shallow cut. The rest of the attacks, Jak was able to back step out of range and catch his arm like boy before him. Jak pulled his arm out wide and low putting his foot into the kids elbow. He cried out in pain, as Jak brought his foot to the ground grabbing is head and slamming it to the ground knocking him out. That was two down and four more to go. The other kid ran at him in rage and frustration making it easy for Jak punch him in the face. Okay now two of them were down, he thought with a smug smile.

The next to fight him was a tall guy with a piece of pipe. He wasn't as big as the first guy he knocked out, but he was still a fairly good size. He knew that he would not be able to catch the heavy piece of pipe as easily as he was able to with the switch blades. He would need to change it up. He smiled none the less, and motioned for his next opponent to come at him. He was ready for anything that this man could dish out. All he needed was some epic music and it would be like a fight scene from the movies. 

The man came forward bringing the pipe up above his head telegraphing his downward strike. As he came, Jak wrapped the chain around his fist to reinforce it. He easily side stepped the attack watching the man stumble a little trying to catch his balance. During that time, Jak landed a hard body punch with his right hand. The man staggered, but didn't go down like Jak thought he would. This one must have been quite tough to stay standing after that.

From behind the large man was the guy with the brass knuckles. He caught Jak completely off guard, and caught him with a right hook to the side of the head. Jak felt blood trickle down his face from the cut the hit gave him, but before he could recover, the guy with the pipe brought his weapon down on Jak's back. He cried out in pain as he fell to the ground. The two pounded on him for a while before the leader of the group walked up stopping them. 

He felt himself be picked up by both arms and restrained between the two guys that were beating him. He panted from the pain and erection of the fight. This was bad. He needed to find a way to free himself quickly. Before he could think of much, the leader hit him in the gut then the left side of his face before forcing Jak to look at him. He had a smug smile on his face confident that he had won. "So where is that tough guy attitude now?" He taunted before kneeing Jak in the stomach again.

Jak kept his body tensed and exhaled at each hit, so they could have been worse. The rest of the group laughed lowering their weapons in confidence. Jak spat out some blood in his mouth. He pulled his leg back slightly before putting it up between the leader's legs and into his groin. He then brought his foot back into the kneecap of the man to his right weakening his grip. Jak pulled his arm free and punched the guy on his left hard in the face knocking him out. Three down now. He turned back to the guy on his right kneeing him in the face. Jak then grabbed his head and slammed it into the ground downing the fourth.

The leader of the group looked to the last minion and ordered him to attack, but his minion hesitated. He had been watching the lone fighter fight and beat his comrades one by one despite their number advantage. He wanted no part of this fight anymore. He turned and ran willing to take his chances with his boss's anger later. "Get back here you coward!" The leader of the group shouted finally straitening up. "Screw this." He reached into his jacket and pulled out a pistol ready to kill Jak.

"Oh shit," Was all Jak said before jumping to the side just as the angry man fired the weapon. The bullet grazed his right arm blood soaking his arm which hissed as the cool blood made contact with his hot skin. Jak knew that he had to get that gun out from his grasp before one of those bullets found something more important. The man tried to correct his aim but missed. The bullet sped past Jak's leg as he mad his approach hitting a trash can nearby.

Jak quickly unwrapped his chain and swung it up at the man's hand. It hit his hand with enough force to make him let go of the gun, but it also wrapped around his hand. The chain started to burn the man's hand causing him to cry out in pain. Jak yanked on the chain, pulling the man closer to Jak. "Get over here!" Jak shouted as he yanked hard to get the man moving to him. The man stumbled and looked up just in time to see Jak's fist before everything went dark. 

Jak panted heavily. He didn't expect that fight to go on as long as it did. He looked at the seven bodies on the ground making sure none of them tried to get up. Satisfied that they were out for a while, Jak turned and started to head back to his apartment. He was exhausted and started to feel the pain of his injuries as the adrenalin started to where off. He needed a good nap after this. Jak wondered if he was pushing his luck fighting like he was. He always ran the gamble of fighting someone with a gun like he just did. He knew that eventually he would not be so lucky. He shook his head trying not to think about it. he just wanted to be done with the night. Jak could hear the sirens of the cops approaching the scene. He picked up his pace getting home before they were able to close off the area.
