A Noble Endeavor (Closed Joint Training)

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

Hotaru watched the two techniques in the air. It was an interesting sight to see, her liquid fire traveling towards a Kido. She watched and noticed that Arashi's was just a little bit more speed. She watched with great antici... She was actually getting a little giddy to see what would happen. Then, she watched as the two techniques clashed in the very middle of the field. It was impressive to see.

When they did clash, the light and sound was very intense. She had to avert her eyes and use her hand as well to try to shade her eyes from it. She could tell that for a little bit, the techniques seemed to be evenly matched. But, she noticed that a few seconds after they met in the middle, Arashi's technique easily overpowered her own. She figured that would happen. The technique was massive and she saw it crackling with power.

She noticed that her technique could've possibly weakened this technique, but it wouldn't have been by much. She watched as the technique came straight towards her. She just stared at it in disbelief for a minute. She was close to trying to duck and protect herself, but then she remembered that his barrier was still up. So she just stood there and watched it come straight for her.

It slammed on the barrier pretty hard, with a great amount of force. She could feel the wind pick up around her, giving her hair some look of untidiness. She was sure that she still had a wide-eyed look on her face, due to the impact on the barrier. Then, the barrier cracked and shattered. It was only then when she saw Arashi staring at her. She hadn't even noticed that he had moved.

He said that honestly, he didn't expect the technique to be that powerful. He hadn't cast that specific kido in some time and he figured his skill in kido has grown since he cast it last. He then said that everything worked fine in the end. She looked down and noticed her uniform. She quickly cleaned off as much dirt as she could, then fixing her hair while she talked to him. "Arashi, that was AMAZING! Seeing two techniques clash like that was so cool! Is there anyway we could do that again?"

In answer to Hotaru's question, Arashi gave her a smile, "Of course we can Hotaru-san." This time I might use one of my weaker technique" Arashi chuckled slightly "Wouldn't want that beautiful hair of your to get tossed about again". Arashi walked back to his previou position at the other end of the field, calling out to Hotaru, he said "Why don't you just get into position and signal when you're ready? I'll set up the barrier when you give the signal, and then we can cast our techniques?"

Arashi took his place and began chanting out the incantation for his chosen technique. "Shoot forth from the heavens and find your mark. Soundlessly. Cautiously. Swiftly. Make yourself known by your bite and curse those who condemn you." Finally calling out the name of the kidou "Hado: #50: Mabarashi Dangan!" With a final cry, the small white sphere generated by the technique flew towards his opponent, far faster than any of the other technique shown today. When it finally reached Hotaru's technique, there would be a moment wherein the two clashed....

But shortly thereafter, the technique would sheer through her own. The reason for this was simple. For one, Arashi's skill in reitsu use and power was significantly superior, and two... While his last technique had one the exchange through sheer extreme power, this techniqe, Mabarashi Dangan, would most likely win, through it's peircing ability. It was Arashi's fastest technqiue, and had several times the peircing power of any of his others.

Once Arashi said of course they could, she got a little giddy. He smiled at her and said that he would use one of his weaker techniques. He then chuckled and said that he wouldn't want that beautiful hair of hers to get tossed about again and she blushed a little bit. He definitely knew his way around words, but she has noticed most nobles are. He took up his previous position, telling her to just get in position and signal when ready. He'll then set up the barrier and they could cast their techniques.

She got back to her position, gave him the signal and then watched the barrier pop back up again. She then took a breath and figured out which technique she would use. She jumped out from behind the barrier and heard Arashi speak out his incantation. Then, she made the liquid from her cannon shoot out liquid from the top left corner of her body down diagonally to the bottom right corner of her body. She did the same with her sword, but from top right corner to lower bottom left corner.

After she got the x in the air, she lit it on fire and sent it towards the middle of the field, yelling "X-sen surasshu!" She watched the firey x sail through to the center of the field and saw Arashi's technique heading towards her. She felt the strength of it and knew that her technique probably wouldn't last against it. She saw them clash and had an inkling that this technique would slow it down. She watched and his technique pierced through hers and was coming straight for her. She stood there again, hoping that the barrier would hold like it did last time.

Although Mabarashi Dangan was a powerful peircing technique, it simply couldn't hold up to the sheer defensive power of Danku. Hitting the shield with a loud thud, the technique clashed against the barrier for a moment, but quickly exploded, sending shards out everywhere. Arashi's barrirs of course stopped any of the energy shrapnel from hitting Hotaru or himself. Lowering his kidou, he made his way towards Hotaru, as he did, he noticed the sun had begun to sink towards the horizon, casting a quite beatutiful orange shadow over everything.

Arashi really loved sunsets, so as he reached Hotaru, he gazed out at it for a few moments before speaking to her. "Well, it seems the day is getting late, it appears our training time is over." He bowed to Hotaru slightly "It was a great honor to train with you, we should do it again sometime." As he turned to leave, Arashi remembered his 'manners'. "Would you like me to accompany you?" It would have been rude of him not to.

Arashi's attack was coming straight for her and she knew for a fact that his barrier would hold up. But still, seeing something like that coming towards you, there is a somewhat primal fear that you're going to get injured or worse. It came closer and closer until it hit the barrier. It made a loud thudding noise until the barrier exploded. Thankfully, he had put up two barriers, so the other barrier protected her from serious harm. Thankfully, Arashi had his barriers up as well because there was shrapnel heading towards him as well.

After the explosion was over, Arashi let his barriers fall and Hotaru breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't even know she was really holding her breath. But, she did breathe a little easier after that. She made a mental note to make sure that she never faced off against his high tiered Kido. It was a lot stronger than she thought it would be. He walked over to her and looked at the sunset. She did too. It was a beautiful sight to see. He then turned back towards her, saying that the day is getting late and that training was over. He bowed and said it was an honor to train with her and they should do it again sometime.

He was getting ready to leave. But, before he actually left, he turned towards Hotaru, asking if she wanted some company on the way out of the training grounds. Since she was being asked, it was rude of her not accept his invitation. She bowed towards him. "The honor of training with you was mine, but thank you for the kind words. I would also like the pleasure of training with you again. As to your request, I would love for you to accompany me. It would also be nice since I would have some company for a little conversation while we were leaving. " She walked out of the grounds with him, talking about the training the entire time.
