"Alright just watch your step out there." Asen said to her before she turned to head for the jungle. He's certain that this place is safe, but he's also certain that the real threat is waiting for an opportunity to strike. In any case none of them shouldn't let down their guard. For he can sense Reiatsu, but those who's good at hiding their Reiatsu could easily get pass his senses. That would end badly for certain because he focuses more on sensing rather than relying on his eye sight or ears.
While Hotaru headed for the jungle, he takes another look around for any potential places that they can take shelter in. There were some shady spots, but he didn't want to get the shelter too close to the shore because of the tides. However he doesn't want it to be too far from the shore either. So he had to look for the right spot that would be good for shelter. Its not just the distance and tide he's looking for, he's also looking for any strategic spots in case they get attacked by something. Which he hopes that they don't get attacked, but he has to take the necessary precautions for its better to be safe than sorry.
This was a bit after Hotaru went into the jungle as Asen walks around the clearing of palm trees here and there. After he did a look around in the area, he couldn't help but notice that being out in this clearing with a fire of any sort could be seen all around the jungle like a beacon. So after he finds a suitable spot where two palm trees about ten feet from each other along with a small hill behind the trees. He designated that this spot was good for both shelter and would be good to hide a bit from the jungle if he plays this right. Though it would have a good view of the beach and the ocean, they would be able to keep an eye out on the jungle as well. To make sure nothing tries to sneak up on the two while they try to sleep.
Now that he found the designated spot for them to camp, he now searches form something that could shield their heads from any sneaky clouds in the night. The first thing he thought of was to find a way to get those tall palm tree branches down. He could climb it no problem, or at least he's confident that he could. But one thing that's preventing him from doing that is he doesn't have anything sharp to cut the bloody things down with. So he's looking up at the palm trees around the designated spot and ponders on what could bring those branches down in one piece.
He has a hunch on how to get these things down without doing anything necessarily stupid. To test his hunch, he aims his index finger of his right arm that's held up by his left arm treating his right like a rifle. When he thinks he has the target, he fires a Byakurai to pierce right through the part close to the tree of the branch. The flash of pale blue lightning pierced through the wood and caused the branch to fall to the ground. He used Byakurai two more times to cause two more branches about the size of his height to fall down.
Then he piled the three branches in between the two trees of the spot which could serve as a type of roof or just have it set to be leaned into the ground and serve as a hybrid wall and roof. Asen wasn't sure yet as he just sets them on the ground and brushes the sand off his hands on his pants. "Now i just need something to bind these three." He mumbles to himself as someone was humming a lovely melody inside his mind. Asen slightly smiles as he knows that its both Augatsol and Nardras.
"What brought you two in such cheerful moods?" He asked his Zanpakutous both mentally and physically as he starts to make his way to the jungle. Along the way he picks up a thin, flat stone in the midst of the vegetation that could be used for cutting at least. 'Well its not like we have anything else to do. Besides everything in here looks lovely and it would be a waste to ruin it.' Augatsol answered mainly because Nardras is the quiet one. Asen just raised his brow as he gets to the jungle where he could find some vines. "Can't deny that." He admitted to himself and to his Zanpakutous as he crudely cuts the vines off with the edge of the flat rock.
He kept cutting until he had fifty feet total of binding material. Then he ties knots on each separate piece of vine together save for two ends to form two twenty five feet of binding material. Least to say that it should last a storm to an extent. He hoisted both rope like vines and started to make his way back to the beach. It didn't take him long for he was walking pretty fast because he wanted to have a place with a roof over their heads before it gets dark.
While he was walking back, he picks up a few dried sticks that can be used for both fire and serve as a support on what he has in mind. When he gets back to it, he has an armful of twigs and sword sized sticks which he dumps next to one of the palm trees and dumps one of the 25 foot vine with it. He sets two of the branches about ten feet and used some of the sticks to support them as they were bind against the trees while the branches hang over the spot which the branches would be propped by the sticks. Now that that's done and over with, he goes around and starts to pick up shells and rocks to help dig a small hole where the fire can be built. Which he does just that, making a five inch deep hole while having piled over it. The pile would be small though.
By rubbing two sticks together hard and fast, he makes enough heat to where after a while the sticks would slowly catch the heat and a small bit of low flames came forth. Of course the fire pit wasn't underneath the branches for he doesn't want to burn it down or anything. By now the sun was down just over the ocean's horizon and Asen was pretty much sweating mainly from the sun. His entire torso, arms, and face was red from sun burns. Granted its nothing serious other than his upper body looks like a red lobster. That was when Hotaru had come back stumbling a bit due to exhaustion he reckon with a deer over her shoulders. He gets up to his feet and jogs towards her for he was going to help her out until she slings the deer off and she passed out on the sand. Of course he wasn't concern about the deer, he was concern about Hotaru as pretty much slides in the sand to reach her. He turns her over having one arm over her upper back and checked for a pulse on her neck by placing two of his fingers. Relieved that she had pulse though it was beating rather fast, he would check her heart but he already has a general idea on how irregular her heart is beating from pushing herself beyond the limit it seems. He smirks at himself as he picks her up in his arms and brings her back to camp. He lays her down underneath the branches and against the bottom of the small hill. Then he runs back towards the deer and couldn't help but feel a heavy sense of guilt towards it. It doesn't stop him from grabbing onto its head and drags it for he can't pick the bloodie thing up without snapping his back in two. As he was dragging it he kept muttering "I'm sorry" to it, for he couldn't help but feel sympathy for it.
Thus while Hotaru lays asleep under the shade, Asen concentrates on trying to skin the poor thing. Though with what he wasn't sure for he doesn't have anything that necessarily sharp that doesn't use Reiatsu. Sure he has a flat rock, but that's not even going to cut through the skin without bruising the meat underneath. He sighs as he knows one thing that's relatively sharp, but it'll be completely wrong to use somebody else's Zanpakutou. Of course he knows how to clean it and everything, but its just be the fact that he's dirtying someone's Zanpakutou that gets him. Now he wishes Augatsol and Nardras was at his side. Reluctantly, he walks back to Hotaru and just about every fiber of his being was telling him how wrong this was. But he slides her Zanpakutou out from her sash and holds the sheathed katana over his lap. He's not trying to commune or anything that deals with communication, he just can't believe he's doing this. However the moment Asen touched the Zanpakutou, that spirit would be able to see and hear all of his memories and even how he felt in those moments.
He stands up to his feet and walks back to the deer. Meanwhile the spirit would be able to view at one memory in particular where it contains the deepest of his pain and what originally drove him to become a Shinigami. It was dark and raining on a gloomy day. He and a girl of his age, for this was back when he was alive... And his last moments. The girl was named Yukari, and from preserving all of his previous memories, she was his best friend and even his beloved. But they were walking down the street when suddenly Yukari asked him out of the blue. "Hey Asen...? Was i really born... just to get eaten...?" She asked me out of the blue. I was surprised, but she has been pretty distant over the past week. "Eaten? Like a monster from a horror film? You need to not watch those so much or else you'll start seeing things." I half warned and half teased her with a grin on my face. Her face just grew pale, as she looked down at the ground.
"I wish it was just a movie... but it's my mother..... she's come back...." She mumbled. I tilted my head to the side and wandered just what she meant by 'her mother came back.' "Uh... i thought she'd cross over by now. Or at least that's what i believed anyways. Besides if that was the case, what business would she have with you?" I asked her while rubbing the back of my neck. All of the sudden i'm getting a bad vibe, and i could sense bloodlust radiating very strongly from Yukari.
"Quite simple actually..." She slowly lifted her head up and what i saw wasn't Yukari that i knew. "I'm going to kill you... Asen Mahawa..." Her words echoed in my mind as it took me a second to process what she just said. "Yukari? Quit messing around, you're acting like you really meant it." Oh, if only she was, things would've been completely fine. But that wasn't what happened. Her eyes were pitch black and her skin as gray as the clouds above us. It didn't take me long that she was being possessed by some entity. Looming over Yukari's body was a huge creature that I had never noticed before, and it had a white mask with large teeth and a big hole in it's chest. I could feel fear and panic rising up my throat. I wanted to scream and run like a coward I was, but I just froze in my tracks.
Yukari raised her hand which slowly formed into a fist, and quickly falcon punched me in the chest with such force that I was sent flying into the concrete wall. Miraculously, I was still breathing. But I'm sure I heard a couple bones broke as an overwhelming amount of pain surge through my body all at once. My ears were ringing pretty loud and high pitched while my mouth tasted like iron.
"Still breathing I see. You're pretty sturdy for a Human to withstand such strength." The thing with the mask commented me as I fell to the cold, wet ground with the rain pouring down on my body. "Asen.... please help me.... I don't want to.... die..... was I only born.... just to be devoured by a demon...?" Yukari pleaded with tears in her black eyes. I wanted to somehow free her, wanted power to defeat whatever this thing was. But I lacked in power, and I watched with my own eyes as that masked thing chomped down half of her body and ate the upper part of her body. Only her legs remained and they fell to the ground like sticks falling from a branch.
I was shocked, I was hurt. But most of all, I was pissed. Trying to stand on my feet with tears rolling down on my cheeks and bitter hatred towards that thing. Only to be weighed back to the ground face first. Looking up at the mask creature, I witnessed it devoured the other half of Yukari and heard bones crunching while hearing meat and bone mashing together. Cursing my weakness, and I desired power. Power to kill that thing, but I was just a human being. Blood dripping from it's mouth, it's yellow eyes gleam with satisfaction.
Those are his memories that the spirit would see as he neatly skins the deer off and afterwards he takes his shirt and wipes as much blood off it as possible. He tested its keen edge by slicing his index finger without putting much weight to it. He uses his reiatsu to stop the bleeding as he drenches his shirt in clean fresh water by cracking a coconut on a rock and uses one half of it to pour on the blade before he wipes it with his shirt again. If anything at least her Zanpakutou is no longer tainted with blood. With Augatsol he can never tell if its blood or just her blade. Then he sheathes the Zanpakutou and lays it down next to Hotaru as he goes back and with his hands tears out the muscle tissue. His arms and even legs were crusted in deer blood by the time he got enough meat to put on two sticks and place it over the fire which is steadily alive still.
