The forest so dense with the body of trees that Asmoskon could only see a few feet in front of him. The Quincy was once again training in a forest that made sure to test his knowledge and reflexes. This time however Asmoskon wasn’t going to be training the attributes of him in order to gain strength. No this time he was aiming for a much more needed strength. The strength of the ancient Quincy that his grandfather had past down to him.
Asmoskon held in his hand one of the ancient scrolls of his race. Within the scroll were instructions on specific techniques that had been lost long ago. Asmoskon had received this scroll from his father shortly before his death. Now was the time that Asmoskon felt he could handle the strength of the techniques that he had studied within. The events that had occurred recently made Asmoskon believe that times were close to changing and he was going to need to make a difference somehow.
However, one can not be a symbol of strength or even a ripple in a river of water without skill. Asmoskon had trained himself recently and now new that his knowledge of his techniques were his weakest point. That was the reason why he had come to the dense forest today. In order to obtain and master the techniques that had been inscribed within the scroll. The density of the forest would make sure to find Asmoskon from anyone close by or even many hollows if they were drawn in by his Reiatsu.
One technique that Asmoskon had read of within the scroll that peeked his interest and he had decided to learn this technique first. The name of this technique was inscribed as Verwüstung. The technique seemed like something that Asmoskon thought he could pull off now it was time to test his judgment. Materializing his pitch black longbow in the left hand Asmoskon concentrates his Reiatsu into a single arrow however in a manner not normal. Judging the power of the arrows and its intention Asmoskon releases the dark red Reiatsu.
Unsuccessful were the first ten attempts at utilizing Verwüstung. Asmoskon had been attempting to activate the damned Quincy technique of his race for the past fifteen minutes. Yet for some reason he had been unable to do it correctly. For all of his intelligence and drive he was unable to achieve this damned technique. That had brought up thoughts of doubt to his mind.
If he couldn’t even master the Verwüstung how was he going to progress farther along. His entire life he had lived in order to bring justice and keep the balance. He needed to grow in strength and become someone that would strike both fear and allegiance in others. Finding the resolve that was part of him Asmoskon continued to train. It took about another half an hour. By that time Asmoskon had successfully utilized the Verwüstung a total of once.
While in all Asmoskon was disappointed in himself. He was able to complete the technique once. Taking an hour to rest and eat lunch Asmoskon thought over the time he had actually achieving the technique. After a few puzzling minutes of analyzing his own actions he came to the realization that he was too stiff. The technique needed flow that was the point of it and how it worked itself.
Now feeling recomposed and his Reiatsu toward its peek once again Asmoskon attempts to gather his Reiatsu into an arrow. Making sure that he his shoulder muscles weren’t stiff while doing the same with his legs. Asmoskon knew that he needed to stay relaxed while concentrating and being focus. The two hardly ever seemed to work together, but for this technique that seemed to be the only way. Firing off the arrow Asmoskon could tell it put far more pressure on the muscles of his arms without flexing them first.
Watching as the arrow about ten feet away split into two Asmoskon grinned. The arrows spread apart from one another to a point of about five feet. Asmoskon strained to observe with his eyes the small thin rope of Reiatsu connecting both arrows. It the next instant the arrows pashed by a tree that preventing them from continuing due to the rope of Reiatsu. Just like he had wanted the arrows were brought around the tree in a spiraling fury until a large explosion of Reiatsu that obliterated the tree.
Asmoskon had learned what he needed to in order to utilize the Verwüstung. He hoped that in the future the strange Quincy technique would aid him in victory and survival. Now it was time to undergo training for a completely different type of technique. One known by the name of Hirenkyaku. Asmoskon knew this technique would be a very essential thing to master. It was similar to both the Shunpo of Shinigami and Sonido of Hollows.
Over the next few hours Asmoskon continued to train the best he could in developing the technique. He had found it difficult towards the beginning to focus the Reiatsu correctly under his feet. That problem had past within the first thirty minutes though. Over the remainder of the first hour Asmoskon started to gain the feel for the technique. It wasn’t long before Asmoskon realized how to effectively ride his Reiatsu in a single step.
In the next hour Asmoskon continued to practice riding along his Reiatsu. Even to the point that he was riding it for more than a single step, but more like a complete sprint. Feeling like he got the basics of the technique down Asmoskon attempted something that was spoken of on the ancient scroll. Gathering his Reiatsu at the base of his feet Asmoskon began to coast across the air. Over the remainder of the day Asmoskon continued to practice how to effectively maneuver his body and his Reiatsu in flight.
The Following Morning
Asmoskon had arrived early in the morning when the grass was still wet. There was barely any light outside which made things a little better for his intentions. Today was the second day of training and Asmoskon knew that he was going to need to learn a lot more quickly or else he wasn’t going to have any time left before something bad happened. It wasn’t like he knew something was planned to happen, more like he had a feeling something would. So he stood in the same area as the previous day to continue training his techniques.
Asmoskon knew that one of the many weaknesses that he has a Quincy possessed was the amount of arrows he could fire. It was easy to know that no matter what he was going to have to pull back on his bowstring in order to fire additional arrows. That was a major weakness and one way an enemy could gain the upper hand. Asmoskon had thought there had to be some way around this weakness. He was glad the previous night to find there had once been a technique that could fire off arrows rapidly without drawing back the bowstring.
This techniques name was Klavier. It seemed by all ideals that this technique would fit in perfectly to Asmoskon’s arsenal. It would make sure that even in situations where he couldn’t utilize both of his hands for his bow that he could still fire off arrows. Asmoskon recalled that on the last hollow hunt that he had gone through with Hotaru there had been such a situation. It was against a snake like hollow. Asmoskon during that time had wished he could utilize an axe while pressuring the hollow with a volley. Now that could be possible.
Asmoskon had read over the description of the technique more than a dozen times the previous night. It seemed rather simple to execute however that gave him so kind of false feeling in the back of his neck. He wasn’t sure why, but it just seemed like there was a throw off about the technique. While it was description simply it was like there wasn’t enough detail with how to actually execute it. He felt like even if he attempted the technique it wouldn’t work.
Asmoskon had to at least attempt the technique however before coming to a conclusion. So materializing his bow was the first step. It took only a moment for the pitch black long bow to appear from nothingness into his grip. Lifting the bow upward and in a horizontal manner in front of his body Asmoskon begins to channel his Reiatsu. The scroll had explained that the technique requires constant control while being intense at the same time. Asmoskon wasn’t actually sure if he could do such a thing without losing control over his Reiatsu.
If nothing else than the technique wouldn’t work or something could go horribly wrong. Asmoskon had chosen to come back to this same spot however due to this understanding. If the technique didn’t work because he was incapable of maintaining control then only he would be in harms way. Focusing his Reiatsu into the mid section of the spin of his bow right at the connection to his hand. It was like his mind was a dam against an ocean. It seemed almost impossible to contain the Reiatsu that he was placing in one area.
Just as he thought he couldn’t help, but lose control any longer Asmoskon took aim and releases his hold over his Reiatsu. In the next instant arrows flew from the spine of his bow. Over and over again like there was no limit to the arsenal that was being depleted. Asmoskon couldn’t help, but think that there might be something wrong. That maybe somehow the technique was going to keep going until it drained him of all his Reiatsu.
From sudden fear Asmoskon attempted to cease the technique only to realize that it wasn’t working. He couldn’t stop the arrows from being fired. In the next few moments the technique had finished leaving Asmoskon wary and scared of the technique itself. The barrier of trees that had sheltered his training now seemed open due to the destruction of more then fifteen trees. Asmoskon had moved his fingers just slightly and couldn’t help, but feel as if the muscles had been ripped and burned.
Looking down on his hand and bow Asmoskon was shocked to see the immense amount of white smoke. Normally when he fired off an arrow a small amount of smoke would be release just from the friction of his Reiatsu. This though was as if all of the friction from the arrows that had just been fired was implied on his hand at once. Wiggling his fingers shortly Asmoskon could feel that the pain was not as bad as he thought, but he would need more practice to control the technique that much he knew for sure now.
This technique was something that Asmoskon now knew was going to aid him greatly against potential threats. However, it was also a technique that he couldn’t lose control of in certain areas. Asmoskon knew that if he utilized this technique in an area such a Tokyo yet lost control he would put dozens of people in danger. He wouldn’t allow that so somehow he knew he was going to have to master this technique before using it against threats. It might seem like a waste to others, but Asmoskon knew that he needed to act on wisdom. If he rushed into combat and used that technique those he was fighting wouldn’t be the threat it would be him.
So he had decided that it was time to take a break from that certain ancient Quincy technique. Instead choosing to work on the development of a technique that he himself had thought of only a few days prior. Asmoskon knew that while his newly obtained bow posed a much larger threat to any who faced him. It wasn’t enough in his eyes to simply rely on his bow release. That was a weakness in itself to Asmoskon to put all of his strength in something single. Not to mention something that he couldn’t hold for a long amount of time. It seemed better to develop a technique that could fit his style perfectly.
In order to do that though Asmoskon had thought of something that he couldn’t find in the ancient scrolls. A technique that would alter the appearance of a arrow in order to grant it a different purpose. There was one thing any archer could use in order to make a conflict end much swifter. Which just so happen to be a target that can’t evade. Asmoskon knew that his skill was good, but if he could keep a target in one place for even more than a second he could lean the outcome in his favor.
So the idea was to create a technique that would make an arrow into a spiritual net. In order to keep a specific target in place long enough to strike again and finish the job. It took about four hours of constant practice utilizing his Reiatsu. However, after that period of a few hours Asmoskon had finally successfully shaped the arrow into a blunt head. While at the same time perfecting the technique in order to release a spiritual net from the arrow itself to lock down a target.
In the next additional hours Asmoskon proceeded to study and start learning techniques from the ancient scroll he carried from his grandfather. There were more than a few that peaked Asmoskon’s interest while at the same time making him wonder what kind of technique can’t be created through talent and hard work. There was one that granted him a condensed quiver full of arrows that no target wished to be struck by. There were multiple that Asmoskon knew would aid him that had to do with ginto. That was something he truly needed to acquire and start utilizing. Now was the time for rest however and because of that Asmoskon made his way back to Tokyo.
