Name: Grace And Rage
Participants: Iwamichi Saeke, Marcus Cole, Takashi Kuchiki
Location: Human World
Difficulty Level: Medium
Setting: NDE
Plotline: A small city, about a four hour drive from Karakura Town has fallen off the grid entirely. All mortal attempts at investigation have resulted in a loss of contact with the investigators as well. UE took over the situation from the mortal government, given that there was clearly some degree of a spiritual element going on. For safety sake, assistance from Soul Society was also called in in the form of Takashi Kuchiki, a rising name in Soul Society, who is still weak enough to be sent on a relatively minor mission. The first step is getting to the small city, Iriato, in one piece. The three will meet up in Karakura Town, and then begin a drive (assuming any of them can legally drive) to the city.
Estimated Enemy Strength: Class 5-3, with one exception

Man it was always a pain in the ass whenever he was in this thing. The snow haired male was wearing a baseball cap that was grey mixed with a red strange insignia on it as well. His shirt was black and in italicized and fancy lettering was written BORN...whatever that meant...these shirt companies were getting more and more ridiculous by the minute. Trailing down, he wore blue jeans with a strange belt that had circular metal rings linned with silver on it. His arms were covered by his Reiseigen, which showed up in the form of wrist bands on both of his arms. He wore typical flat soled shaker type shoes as well. It was yet another mission for the blue diamoned eyed shinigami.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out what appeared to be an offset blueish metallic phone. Flipping it open, he read the instructions on the screen. His eyes scanned the text message. It really was a nifty thing. Text messages for only the spiritually aware; what would the 12th division think of next? In any case, Takashi would now take his mission on. He read the address carefully, it seemed he would have to drive to the city. Takashi had seemingly arrived early at the meeting point. It wasn't surprising, given how punctual he was; he hated being tardy. Without much to do, he sat down on a local bench. His left foot crossed, resting on his right knee. His arms were folded and he looked down towards the floor; most likely mental training a match against himself in his mind no doubt.

Iwa was intrigued and yet disturbed by the nature of this mission. If it was a solo mission, there would be no problem. But Kazura had pointed out that there would definitely be interference from the Soul Society in this case. She was becoming increasingly annoyed with them for messing in all of her jobs. Although she wished that it was a result of Kazura's sending Iwa on missions of high importance in Soul Society, she knew that that was not the case. She had met too many inferior shinigami over the course of her responsibilities. It gave her no pleasure and no self-assurance to say the least. Sighing, she left the Uzaki building at around 10 to get a good start.
Maybe, she would be lucky and no one else would show up, contrary to Kazura's warning. That would be the most ideal, especially since Kazura insisted she go by car. She had almost laughed when he said that. Iwa scoffed at the idea of using human transportation - filthy and uncomfortable at that. She would much rather run by herself. After all, she had gone on foot all the way to Africa before. There was no reason why she couldn't hike to her destination. It would probably take even less time than the proposed four hours. The more she thought of this car ride, the more animosity she felt toward the whole mission.
The original debrief had been interesting. A whole town went off the grid entirely, so why shouldn't she be intrigued? She really wanted to know what or who had the power to accomplish that. The possibility of fighting someone of that strength gave her a rush of excitement. But all these other details were extinguishing that enthusiasm. Now, she wasn't sure if it was even worth it. Her pride would never be able to let her forget this, nor live it down. Someone like her was about to stoop to accept transportation from humans. What was worse was they probably wouldn't let her drive. No, KAzura had said it would be a bad idea because an invisible driver would attract too much attention on the road.
Iwa finally trudged over to the initial rendezvous point. She had spent a couple hours wandering around, hoping to avoid this for as long as she could. She saw a few interesting people along the way: a man running around in female hosiery and a country hick trying to buy marijuana from a drug broker. The latter was quite unusual and proved to be quite comical in some respects, because it was obvious that he had no idea what he was doing. The fact that when she got there, there was already someone sitting on a bench waiting made everything worse. He looked familiar in some regard, which only added to her misery. She said nothing but leaned against a tree. Kazura had informed her that there would be one more joining the party. All to her dismay.

Marcus really hated wearing his combat suit in public, especially during the day. After all, a man dressed in black carbon-fiber plated armor attracted a lot of attention, not to mention the dark goggle-glasses hybrid that covered his eyes. Uzaki Industries designed it all, and Marcus could only accept such a generous gift from his leader and employer. After all, the armor would absorb the shock from punches, in case the situation called for combat. On top of that, he did look pretty badass. The plated patterns gave him a strong appearance. To top off the jet-black battle-suit, a streak on his chest was highlighted in a dark, metallic blue.
Most people would give him a few weird looks and assume that he was on his way to some sort of cosplay event, but the Fullbringer didn’t enjoy that kind of attention. He didn’t enjoy any attention at all, actually. Therefore, he didn’t go out in public. In fact, he was arriving at the designated meeting area by car. Limo, to be exact. Courtesy of Uzaki Industries. Kazura had assigned them a driver, a regular human. The man was told not to ask questions or even look into the passengers’ seats in the back. Just to make sure, there was a barrier that blocked off the driver’s seat from the rest of the car. After all, the mission he was given had Marcus working with two spiritual beings. It would be better if he didn’t come off as a wacko when the driver happened to see Marcus interact with invisible people.
Kazura had only sent Marcus documents to explain his mission, and the Fullbringer read through them tens of times, only to find very little information. A nearby city had gone completely off the grid, and Marcus would be sent with a Rogue Shinigami affiliated with Uzaki Industries as well as a Soul Reaper serving the Gotei 13 to find out what exactly was going on. They would be dropped off at the entrance of the city by the driver, who would then turn back and return to Karakura. It was up to them to find a way back, and they could text Kazura an explanation of the city’s disappearance. It was risky, but Kazura must be confident in Marcus and his other employee’s strengths to entrust such a mysterious and potentially perilous mission to them. Then again, the fact that Soul Society was helping could bolster his assurance.
The limo pulled over to the rendez-vous point, and Marcus opened the door to what the driver saw as an empty bench. He watched through the right mirror with a confused expression dominating his face. Marcus, on the other hand, had a poker face on. He didn’t show his companions any emotion, nor did he greet them. The Fullbringer merely opened the door and retreated to the far side of the limo immediately, hoping to avoid necessary dialogue. Marcus simply didn’t talk to strangers. It’s not that he didn’t want to, though he typically didn’t, but the man couldn’t. Something snapped long ago in his mind, and he was still recovering. Marcus would simply sit in silence and hope that the Shinigami accept the tacit invitation to get in the limo.

Although the sudden limo appearance agitated her even more, she was glad that no one was ruining her mood more by talking. Whatever they said would probably grate her nerves more. Unfortunately, she wasn't sure what would happen if she was pushed too far. Normally she could control herself, but a day could come where she would eventually snap. She needed to make sure that never happened. For the moment, the attention was on the stupid ostentatious limo and the silent soldier that had motioned for them to go in. He definitely was the third person to the mission - all the Uzaki armor and weapons gave that away - yet, he acted like a chauffeur.
Iwa crossed over to the other side of the car, opened the door and go in herself. She didn't need a human to do what she could do on her own. Although it was a humble gesture, she didn't need it. Besides, she would have to move to the other side to make room for the other two anyways. Might as well save some time and energy. Iwa sat silently with her arms folded across her chest. Her eyebrows slightly furrowed, one could see her frustration if they looked close enough. She normally did anything in her power to keep people from realizing those types of things though. Unfortunately, today it was more difficult to contain this surmounting tension.
She already knew the shinigami vaguely, so she presumed to study the other passenger a bit. He was definitely quiet. There could be many reasons for that. The way that he shrunk away from his companions' gaze, however, probably meant he was lacking in confidence. He didn't like being scrutinized. Either he thought himself below a human being, like another annoying weak person she had already encountered before, or he felt embarrassed when he was put in a spotlight. In any case, he was not one to make conversation or inquire about his temporary companions. It wasn't a problem for Iwa if they passed the entire ride in silence. It might let her take her mind off of being stuck in a filthy human vehicle with strangers. She, unfortunately, had to wait for the others to step into the limo, and she couldn't understand why they were taking so long.
