Training between two new friends (Closed/ Hotaru &Takashi)

[Takashi Kuchiki]

The white hair shinigami looked towards Hotaru. His burns were getting worse on his right hand as he could feel the pain from his flesh burning. However, the man had received nearly third degree burns from Lax before and this was nothing of the sort. Being at his low class, there seemed to be some great gap between Hotaru and himself. He was not utilizing Shikai at all and his stats seemed rather low in comparison to this woman. He had to think very carefully on what he would do. His hand was burning and that was yet another thing that he didn't want to deal with. Takashi's dazzling blue eyes focused on the woman whom seemed to be ready to fight.

The man was then listening to what Hotaru said. She seemed to be hurt and she was really utilizing her shikai to the fullest. However, it seemed she too had taken a greater amount of damage then even he had. There was something definitely strange going on here as well. This fire would eventually burn off his arm, however, he really had to make the best of it while he could. Takashi had a few ideas and now it was time to implement them. He pushed past the pain and was getting ready to make a move. However, he felt he should at least respond to the woman.

"Keep your focus. You also mistake my strength for my mental prowess however. My strength has not increased during this fight, none of my abilities have. However, in light of your shikai I will simply utilize one technique I have held back". Takashi looked towards Hotaru whom seemed to be very impressed. Alright, this battle would definitely take an interesting turn as of now. Takashi slowly rose his sword and pushed out in simple diagonal strike from right to left with his right hand; Asuchi in hand.

From this, there emitted a medium sized shockwave which was heading straight towards Hotaru, intended to biscect her. Takashi instantly disappeared, pushing right on his left foot. He would push nearly 15 meters away from Hotaru. He had left the temple and arrived in the desert like area of which he stood. He was looking towards Hotaru with his sword raised once more. It was lucky for him that the girl had suffered a massive trauma as a result of crashing on the ground. There were other factors that would aid as well.

It seemed as though she hadn't gotten rid of the fire that was on her left arm, spreading through it as well. In addition, there was the gash and blood that would emit from the fall and the initial cut. She would be bleeding out and that would be good for the shinigami. He would continue, watching the fire engulf up to half his wrist. He had some time but it would take a good deal of time to finish out his strategy. The shinigami was now nearly 15 meters diagonal of Hotaru, assuming she was still in the same area as when Sakugen was thrown towards her; now what would she do?

The
user pours reiatsu into their body, and their sword, and releases it in
a mighty slash attack. A small slash of reiatsu shoots outwards, and
can cut with the same force as the user, if it hits. It also bypasses
cutback effect, as well as comes with the user's weight. It feels like
it hit the enemy with the user's body weight, on top of cutting into
them or their tools.

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

She noticed that his flames were getting worse on his right hand. It would definitely be a hinderance to him, either now or a lot later in this fight. Watching her power at work was something to behold that's for sure. She felt Rivu~aiasan flowing through her and it gave her strength that she didn't even know she had. It was nice to feel that kind of warmth inside of her. She kept to her stance, staring at Takashi, ready for whatever he was going to throw at her.

Hotaru knew that he has to have some ideas in his head, it seemed as if he always had multiple ideas for what he could do in battles. She envied that part of him. She was never that quick, but she hoped to learn to be quick like that. It was then that he told her that she had to keep her focus. She took a deep breath and centered herself again. Her focus was now kept. She didn't think that she had mistaken his strength for mental prowess, but whatever he thought. He was going to use a technique that he was holding back and she knew that his power has not increased, he just used it better.

Then, she saw reiatsu come out of Takashi's blade. He slashed and the reiatsu came straight at her. He then shunpo'ed away from the area. She only had a few seconds to think about what she could do against this attack. She could either use one of her techniques and try to negate, using more of her reiatsu, which she didn't really want to do, or she could try to withstand the attack, saving her reiatsu for future attacks, but it would take a toll on her body. She only had a few seconds to decide.

Hotaru, while the attack was coming towards her, moved her sore left arm in front of her body. She then braced her sword on the cannon on her left arm. So, it looked like she was making an X in front of her, sword in front, braced against the cannon that is behind it. She took a deep breath before it hit, hoping that she could withstand this attack after she injured her left arm. She watched it come at her and then that's when it hit.

She felt the weight of the slash on her body. She gritted her teeth to withstand the attack. She was stronger than Takashi, but still the attack hurt. She felt that her wound on her left arm might've gotten worse, but she wasn't going to worry about that now. The attack didn't last for long and when it was over, she had to take a few breaths. It seemed like she wasn't breathing while she endured the attack. She put her arms down at her side to try to work them out. She moved her right arm, to get some feeling back into it.

Then, she looked at her left arm. She looked at the bandage first and it was soaking with blood. She knew that the brace would probably hurt it more, but it was necessary so she didn't whack herself in the face with her own sword and then set her face on fire. She unwrapped the bandage, after she ripped a piece of her uniform off. It was pretty bad. She didn't have anything to clean it out with, so she ripped another piece of her outfit and cleaned the wound as best she could. Then she re-wrapped it, trying to make it as tight as possible. Thankfully, she already turned off the fire on her arm or her left arm would be worse.

Next, she lightly shook her left arm. It was in pain, but nothing she couldn't handle. She carefully left her left arm up and held her sword in her right hand very tightly. She knew that Takashi was somewhere, she just didn't know where. She also didn't want to let her guard down. Takashi is proving to be a very tricky enemy. He had many ideas to set her off balance. She just needed to use her brain power to try to do the same thing to him.

[Takashi Kuchiki]

The white haired shinigami knew Hotaru had to have a breaking point. He wasn't sure when it would come, but he was sure that she had to have it. The woman was good, but she had yet to fully realize the potential of her shikai. It seemed to Takashi that she hadn't fought with something like this before. As such, he knew that she wouldn't be very proficient in it. The white hair looked to exploit this, wondering if he could actually do something like that, he'd have to stay on his feet. He honestly expected a different outcome to this fight, but it seemed he still had a few aces up his sleeve.

It was now Takashi's attack. The man had swung his sword, the blue aura engulfing it with his reaitsu. As he pushed it forward, spinning counter clockwise to give the attack more of a push. What happened next would be something he didn't expect and cause him to change course fully. The woman would block the attack with her hands. The X shape she put her hands into was a dead give away that she would. Takashi knew that the force of the impact would cause her to jerk back. It would also take a few seconds for her to have the attack fully dissipate.

The shinigami could see that once the attack hit, it pushed her back slightly. The attack hit with Takashi's speed, weight, and strength. He realized that this would undoubtedly be completely take out her left arm as well. The man zeroed in on this fact and instead of pushing away the 15 meters that he had planned, there was yet another plan. Takashi was well versed in combat, situations had always changed, as such, he kept himself prepared for anything. It seemed he had found himself yet another exploit that he could utilize in this battle.

As he spun, his blade once again glowed a blue color. Pushing off his left foot, he arrived nearly 6 feet away from Hotaru. His blade swung out, continuing the motion from before. The blade rung out in another shockwave that was aimed towards the woman's lower abdomen, a few inches below the first shockwave. Takashi had timed it perfectly. As soon as the first shockwave would hit her, he would already appear to her left and swing his sword. Yet another shockwave would come out, obviously lower than the first one and hit her on her left side. This attack would be most valuable due to her left arm being useless now more or less.

Takashi knew he had to keep on his feet. There was a lot of things he had to consider. Hotaru's shikai was indeed powerful. He wouldn't deny it, his right hand was still basically burning off, now beginning stages of second degree burns were setting in. The pain was excruciating, but he only pushed through with his will. The shinigami clenched his jaw, making sure that he could deal with the pain. He knew that eventually his arm would be burnt off but he indeed even had a plan for that as well. For now, it would be on what Hotaru would do here. It seemed the woman was now in a rather difficult predicament and it would perhaps cost her; only time would tell.

Reaitsu: 470/670 = -50 Shunpo, - 25 Sakugen

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

Hotaru felt that her arm was giving out. It was pretty injured, but she figured that her left arm could still be useable. She noticed that Takashi was changing tactics and getting ready to do something. Right about the time the first shockwave was starting to dissipate, she glanced around and noticed that Takashi had Shunpo'ed to her left side. She figured that she would try something out of his book to get back at him.

She saw he was doing the twirl thing again. So, she tried one of her own. While the shockwave was dissipating and right before he started to shoot off the other one, she started to turn to the right. She was quick enough to get about halfway through the twirl before he shot off another attack. When he was already committed to shooting off the attack, she Shunpo'ed to the right, getting about three feet away from Takashi.

Immediately when she appeared, she let off her cannon to shoot out her liquid and slashed her sword out hard enough to start flinging out of her sword. Once she finished her twirl and hopefully coating him in her liquid, she quickly jumped up and created a stepping ground underneath her. She wanted to get a little more distance from Takashi. It was only then that she was able to actually look at the damage to her arm. Thankfully, due to inertia, she was able to use the cannon to shoot. But, besides that, she didn't think she could use her arm again.

She looked down and noticed that Takashi was still burning on his right side. The burns were getting pretty severe. So it was almost an arm for an arm. She got his right arm and he got her left. It was a pair of pretty mangled limbs. Though, she was still happy to have been able to get this powerful. It was all thanks to Takashi. He seemed to push her beyond her limits. She would always thank him for that.

[Douma]

To say that Kagami was watching the fight with intense focus would be a bit of a lie. You see, as much as he cared about how Hotaru progressed, he just happened to care about his beer just a little more. And so, when the goddamn bottle was in his hand, the most philosophical question popped into his tipsy head. What is beer made of? Of course, there was alcohol and water, but what else? Those couldn’t possibly be the only two ingredients for the most affordable method of getting wasted. He suddenly had to know, ignorance wasn’t an option.

And so Kagami began reading the ingredients section of his Heineken, and the surprise was evident on his face. What?! There’s yeast in this thing?! Kagami tilted the beer so that he could see into the bottle’s opening with one eye. Yeast, who would have guessed? And now another ingenious question suddenly emerged from the same corner of his mind that brought the first. How healthy is beer?

He regretted even checking… 150 calories and practically no nutritional value except for sodium and carbohydrates. Kagami suddenly worried about his physique. What happened to his rock-hard abs and chiseled body? Had living off beer for the past 70 years ruined his body without him even noticing? The Vice Captain lifted his shirt and carefully counted his six-pack. What a relief, they were all there. He shrugged to himself and drained the rest of the bottle, throwing it to the side where the glass would shatter to bits. Lesson learned; do not read your beer bottles.

And when he looked up, Kagami found a surprising site. Hotaru’s left arm was gushing blood and seemed practically unusable. However, she still seemed to be fighting as hard as ever. In the meantime, that other Shinigami was going all out as well. But, as he fought, flames were eating at his arm. The Vice Captain sighed with frustration. So much for a ‘training’ session. These kids were practically trying to kill each other. Uh-oh, bad time to zone out and read the nutrition facts and ingedients of a Heineken.

The Vice Captain summoned a mirror between Hotaru and Takashi, cutting off the man’s Sakugen and preventing Hotaru from spraying any more of her Zanpakuto’s liquid at him. Just to make sure Takashi didn’t continue moving around, since he seemed like a speedy, physical fighter, Kagami created immediately next to him, one on each side. He would have to move backwards or forwards to get around them, but Kagami would hope that he learned when to draw the line in a training session. Hotaru, too. They both needed to learn when to draw the line.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TWO DOING?!” Kagami kinda pissed off. They were supposed to be allies, and he didn’t see any particular reason for a fight to initiate between the two. He’d get it if there was a legit reason, but they seemed to be on happy terms before the battle began. It made no sense to him.. “Okay, kids. Great fight and all, but try to save it for the Quincy. And you might want to pop into Squad 4 sometime soon, before either of you lose one of those arms."

[Takashi Kuchiki]

It appeared as though Hotaru was making her move. The woman was using a twirl like maneuver, using shunpo as well. It was the same tactic for her, to hit him with the strange liquid. Takashi knew that was what was coming. It was obvious that as she spun either her sword was connecting or her liquid. His eyes trailed towards her, looking at her right. There was definitely openings the girl had. Takashi knew how to exploit them. He was going to attack when he finally heard something that would cause him to turn his head. He was about to step back, pushing off his foot, that was when he saw something. The liquid was being stopped by...something. He wasn't sure what this was but it was some force.

Takashi looked towards the force. His adrenaline was being lowered due to his surprise. As such, his hand began to hurt more; his body could only ignore so much. He gritted his teeth. However, there was another moment of shock when a man shouted towards them. Takashi turned to his left, his eyes fell upon the Vice Captain. He listened to him speak and Takashi gave him a slight bow. "My deepest apologies Vice Captain Kagami-san", Takashi said. He raised his head a moment later, there was still so much pain.

That was when he turned to Hotaru. He blinked a few times before holding out his hand and sword. "Hotaru...if you please". He spoke to her, indirectly asking her to extinguish the flame. He assumed she would do it. Afterwards, he would feel a soothing sensation. If she didn't do it, he'd probably kill her on the spot....well not really...probably not...hmmm. In any case, the man would look at his hand. There were severe burns on it and now he was shirtless again. He noticed that his shinigami uniform had been burn to a ashes along with his sheath. He let out a soft sigh before turning back to the man.

"I believe that even during a spar, one should be willing to risk injury. The imminent fear of death causes one to push beyond their limits. I would rather prepare with an ally rather than an enemy whom I know wouldn't hesitate to eliminate me. I understand that perhaps this mentality is taken too far due to my nature; and I apologize for that. Perhaps the mentality stems from the 11th division of which I hail from. However, I respect your authority and your wishes. For now Kagami-san, I will depart. It was a pleasure to have met you and I hope we can do combat in the future". He gave the man a light bow before turning towards Hotaru.

"Hotaru, I see you are becoming stronger. There is still a ways for you until you are able to reach me. Drive yourself further into your training and learn to utilize your power to its maximum. It is indeed powerful. However, there is something even greater in power than any release; I shall leave you to figure what that is. In any case, I thank you for the opportunity to battle against Shikai. For now, I will see you both.". Takashi gave one last bow to them both before blurring out, using shunpo to get medical attention at the fourth division. It was indeed a good fight and a good day of sparring.

[Douma]

"My deepest apologies Vice Captain Kagami-san" Kagami raised an eyebrow in question. The kid was respectful, a trait he didn’t see in too many Kuchikis. Takehiko and Ana are fine, of course. Ana’s extremely fine, mind you. Kagami should really take her out sometime so they can have a little more ‘fun.’ Er, back to what I was saying. Takehiko and Ana are fine, but Kagami couldn’t stand Sozen or Hokori. Those two irritated the Hell out of him. Sozen, for calling his suit ‘cheap.’ Hokori for replacing Sozen in the challenge Kagami sent. No, those pure-blood Kuchikis are too full of themselves, and it pissed Kagami off.

Kagami began to find Takashi even more interesting by the second. So, he would be willing to put his life on the line in a sparring session? Sozen really messed up with this one. He’s too battle hungry, which does explain why he’s in the seventh division. Kagami wouldn’t mind accepting a fight from him one day just to put him in his place. But, the next thing brought a look of confused amusement to Kagami’s face. He bowed, for apparently no reason. Well, to Kagami, there wasn’t a reason. He was well versed in noble etiquette and everything, that’s how he was raised. But, to him, it was just weird that the kid bowed so many damn times. “Did you drop something, Mr. Takosha?” Kagami intentionally got the man’s name wrong. It was one of the many little games he liked to play with other people. The question itself was a joke.

When Takashi went to talk to Hotaru, Kagami listened with mild interest while muttering inaudible words under his breath. If Takashi or Hotaru listened closely, they would pick up on a few words: ‘not enough beer.’ Finally, though, Takashi decided to leave. Good riddance to that Kuchiki. Kagami’d whoop his ass any other day, but not today. No, today was a day of ditching work and getting some drinks. Not tomorrow, either. Tomorrow was the day to wake up next to a stranger – or strangers, if it was a good night, and get over a hangover before hitting the bar again. But, one day, he would fight Takashi.

“Good job, Hotaru. Finally got your Shikai, and you can finally have a chance at cutting me.” Kagami flashed her an arrogant grin before continuing, “A small chance at that, but still a chance.” The Vice Captain examined her arm before shaking his head in disapproval. “That fight really shouldn’t have gotten so far out of hand, but you looked good out there.” Kagami left a small mischeveous hint on his tone, letting her interoperate the last part however she liked. “Let me walk you to Squad 4, so they can patch you up.” Kagami walked on ahead, expecting Hotaru to follow him out.

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

Hotaru watched the interaction between Takashi and her Vice Captain. It was pretty funny actually, just based on the looks on Kagami's face. When Takashi came to her to turn off the fire, she let it smolder on his arm for a few more seconds than she needed to before she turned it off. She took a deep breath, letting Rivu~aiasan flow back into her zanpaktou. She looked down on her zanpaktou with pride. She was happy she finally got to this step.

While Takashi was talking to her, she heard Kagami mutter not enough beer under his breath. He definitely was a partier, like she heard. Takashi was saying pretty much what Kagami had told her before, get stronger so she has a better chance of beating Takashi. He then walked off. He was just letting arrogance flow out of him today, she thought. She had never met someone like him, someone so full of himself.

Once he left, Kagami came over and talked to her. He told her good job and said what she has been wanting to hear for awhile, she finally has a chance of cutting him. He said it was small, but the chance was still there. A huge grin spread across her face when he said that. He looked over her arm and said the fight shouldn't have gotten that outta hand but she looked good. The last part was said mischievously. She knew what she meant and let it pass. He then wanted to walk her to Squad 4 to get her arm looked at. He started walking off.

She hurried and caught up to him, putting her arm through one of his. "You know, if you're going to walk me, you should do it the proper way. Though, on the way to Squad 4, do you think we could stop by a bar and have a few drinks. It seems that you haven't had enough beer yet." She winked at him after this last part, walking off with him and hoping her night would be much more interesting.
