Okay, I feel this is long overdue and would add more dimensions to our characters. It would also serve as a TP dump for characters who are already maxed out and help flesh out our current roster and make them more well-rounded. Essentially what I've noticed is that people are hesitant to put techniques in their lists that don't directly help them in combat. Whether that means they load up characters with healing techniques, binding techniques, utility, or just full on offensive techs, pretty much everyone is overloaded with abilities to make their characters useful in pvp situations.
But is that all the Bleach universe has? Hell no. We've seen that Bleach has its fair share of superhuman abilities that DON'T help the user out in a fight. Remember Ulquiorra's eye thing? It basically recorded everything he saw and showed it to his allies after he removed + squashed his eye. We need more stuff like this that can't be used in combat, but is intended to be used to help the character in out-of-combat situations. I think characters should have a section with maybe 5 cinematic-only techniques intended ONLY for either helping the plot along or in social situations.
Ulquiorra's eye thing is a pretty good example of what I'm talking about. It was an easy and cool way for Ulquiorra to show everyone what he'd seen. Sure, he could have just TOLD them, but where's the fun in that? It didn't necessarily give Ulquiorra an advantage in combat, and it would have been entirely impractical to use during his fight, but he had it regardless. I don't see any harm in letting people learn Cinematic Utility techniques assuming that A. they cannot be used during PvP or combat, and B. there is a good reason for a character to know the technique anyway.
Some examples of cinematic techniques would be interrogation/torture techniques to be used on captured prisoners, crystal ball-esque spying abilities, special inter-dimensional travel techniques, sealing techniques that take a lot of preparation. Some cinematic techniques might have SOME uses in combat, but one of the rules regarding them would be that their use would be restricted to cinematic or social situations only. Hell, you could even throw the occasional funny technique. Remember how Inner Sakura kicked Ino's ass in Naruto? Inner Sakura could be a cinematic only thing that sometimes emanates from her body to punch someone senseless in a social thread. Purely for comedy relief of course. Anyway, those are my thoughts.
Can we please implement this into the system? Thanks.
