{Cinematics}
The Captain's meeting was underway, but not in the Squad 1 barracks. Those no longer existed as a physical building. They were ash. The Seireitei was ash. All of it was ash, and all of the Shinigami had to pitch in to help rebuild it, brick by brick, fixing the entire thing. The Captains instead met in a large conference room within the Kuchiki Manor, as this was the next most active traditional building remaining in the Soul Society. It was old, and it was untouched. The Central 46 building was also untouched, but was, for obvious reasons, completely off-limits to the Captains for their meeting. This was why the manor had been selected for use in the meeting. The Shinigami Captains of the Gotei Thirteen were gathered, what few could be.
There was not one among them that was uninjured. From Squad 2's Kenryoku Kawada to Squad 9's Raion Souretsu, not one was uninjured. Kenryoku Kawada, Griswald P. Lorilad, Hokori Kuchiki, Sozen Kuchiki, Rave Haretsu, Raion Souretsu, Okusa Shogen, Iro Kuchiki, and Shade Kawada. Nine members had been gathered in rows, one row of five, another of four, facing one another. On one side stood Kenryoku, Lorilad, Sozen, Rave, and Okusa. On the other side stood Hokori, Raion, Iro, and Shade. There were Captains absent from this meeting. In particular, the Squad 3 Captain, Ryuu Usagi, could not attend because of the severity of his injuries. Whether or not he would ever return to duty as a Captain was uncertain.
Of other particular note, the Squad 7 Captain, Enma, was nowhere to be found. He was missing completely. He seldom showed up to Captain's meetings anyway, and when he did he usually put others to sleep. However, his total absence was unnerving. Also absent was the Squad 12 Captain, Bokuga Sayuri, and even his fill-in, Xerxes Alejandro. Sayuri had gone missing some time before all of these events, and his fill-in had grave injuries on the same level as Ryuu Usagi, if not worse, and his life was in peril as well. Of those Captains gathered, not one existed that hadn't been gravely injured. All were covered in bandages, and all were sporting at least some broken limb or another. The Captains had been massacred.
At the head was the Captain Commander. His injuries were so severe that his entire body was wrapped in white bandages, even his face, and only one eye could be seen from those bandages. His mouth was left exposed, as was the entire lower half of his face. On this, from what little of him could be seen as necessary to allow him to speak, all could infer that he was covered in horrific burns all over. He was so gravely injured that he had to sit in a massive metal armchair which resembled a throne, and used a cane to keep himself upright. His exposed eye was focused on all of the Captains at once. He observed them, gauging their reactions. At his side was his Vice Captain, Kurosaki Juuken, whose torso was bandaged, and who sported a head wrap on his forehead as well.
"Something...has to be done." The Captain Commander urged all of the Captains. "Never before have we faced so powerful an enemy. Never before has the peril been so real. Not since Satsujun has the Seireitei been laid to waste like this, ravaged completely. And not since the days of The Great Hollow Armies of Cain has this Gotei Thirteen we have worked so hard to maintain been so threatened." His words hung on the air, but they were cracked. His voice was strong, his words were strong, but his physical demeanor was weak. And why shouldn't it be? It was a miracle that even Lorilad had been able to heal the Captain Commander, and even then he had barely healed him. The fact that the Strong Man was even awake through those injuries was a testament to his power.
Yet, it was a power that had proven useless before the Emperor of the Vandenreich. "We're weak..." the Captain Commander admitted to his Captains. "We're all so very weak. Their Stern Ritters are more powerful than you. Their Holy Emperor is more powerful than I am." Elsewhere, there was a man in a black skin tight jumpsuit with a hood draped over his head tightly, and a red, skeletal oni demon mask on his face to obscure his identity. On this man's torso, belts covered in kunai extended across his chest. A Zanpakuto was sheathed at his side. In this elsewhere, which was the interior of a small cabin in the middle of an unspecified forest, this man had a prisoner underneath him, a man around whose throat the masked one's hands were. Their eyes had met, at the one being assailed was in white, and was not even able to make sounds because of his predicament.
"WHO IS HE?!" the masked man bellowed. "TELL ME ABOUT THE EMPEROR!" The Strong Man, back at the Captain's meeting, continued speaking. "The truth is that we are no match for them. That is fact." The masked man heard a rustling noise, and whirled around, his eyes wide. Several others in white had come into the room. Instantly, he disappeared, using impressive speed to attempt to escape all of them, moving into the forest and taking off branch by branch. "The truth of the matter, gentleman, is that if this war continues as is, we will lose. We need to do something. We need to become stronger. We need to seek allies. And yet, I have no real idea of where to begin for that. I truly do not."
The Espada had gathered. Starting at Octava, Cierro Muerte, and working up. Septima, Myzaraphiston Synderfell. Quinta, Rio Demonliogalgo. Tercera, Zeruel Moreno. Segunda, Kuroi Naito. Primera, Adalo De-Mona. The Arrancar were not alone in this. They were all lined up on one knee within the enormous, dark throne room of Las Noches, where the only light shone in from the open windows and balcony, a pale white moonlight cast over them. Their heads were lowered, their fists on the ground, and they were bowed before the huge iron throne on which their King, Sonken Kouhai, sat. To his left was his right hand man, Guujin Karai. To his right was the Exequias Leader, Shiroi Hokai. And in the shadows, lurking behind him, there was a monster with glowing eyes.
The Arrancar were not in good shape. "We have lost three of our own." Sonken Kouhai said, addressing his Espada. A serious look had come upon his face, whereas ordinarily a smile should be there mocking all who looked on him. Though none appeared to be injured because of advanced healing techniques, still there were many who had been injured in a recent event. The throne room appeared totally fixed, but not days earlier it had been full of rubble. Even Kouhai himself was one of those that had been injured. "Noveno, Arhellai, and Sexta, Luticide, have both fallen to the enemy. Worse, Cuarta, Baocao, has also fallen." The enemy. Amoguerra. The monstrosity of a Hollow that had finally turned Arrancar. An Arrancar so powerful that even Kouhai had trouble against him. An Arrancar of such intellect that on his merit of genius alone Las Noches was at last in danger, a prospect that had never before been possible.
"Amoguerra is the first time that we have ever truly had an event where all of us are threatened. His goal is to destroy us all. Myself and all of you. Not one of you will live should you try to join him. Not one of you will live should you refuse to stand up to him. My dear Espada, it is time now that we fight, for we are not going to stand by idly and allow him to kill us. But something MUST BE DONE. We CANNOT allow him to destroy us! He is a very powerful enemy. A very powerful enemy indeed. Where to begin I am not certain, but all of you must now grow more powerful. It is imperative. And, beyond this? We will require assistance. As much as it pains all of you, I am certain it will be necessary to seek an ally against this menace."
He had returned. His organization, Xcution, had been put under the thumb of a violent underworld criminal, Bishop, who by day was a politician of incredible world prestige, and who by night was a man that ran one of the most lethal crime syndicates in the world. With close to no spiritual powers of his own, the man whose alias was bishop, whose real name was Hideki Takanojo, a prominent politician in Japan, was reliant solely on the political powers which he possessed. However, the man that had founded the organization, and the man that had given it power, and who in his own right still had powers, had returned. He was the God of Murder, and he had returned for wartime. Satsujun, by all intents and purposes that being his name, was back.
Wearing a black leather coat with tails reaching down to his knees, black jeans, and a black sleeveless shirt under the unzipped coat with spiked coat tails and a popped collar, the pale skinned man with the demonic eyes and medium length black hair arrived. None could deny one simple fact. Satsujun was the strongest man in the world. As soon as he had first walked into the Xcution headquarters, there had been shock. There had been gasps. And then he had called upon all of his Xcution assassins at once in an enormous joint cell phone call. And Satsujun had told them all only one thing. One thing only had been what Satsujun needed to say. They had in enemy from Hell in Lord Discord, but only three words were needed. "Prepare for war."

{War of Angels Description and Mechanics}
War of Angels is the largest event in this site's entire history. What does that mean? Well, first of all, it means this is one hell of an opportunity for you guys to claim plot relevance, alter and shape the course of these worlds forever, and achieve glory and all other goals of your individual characters. Here, I'm going to talk about the mechanics of it.
Let's begin with the canons for the remainder of Arc 2 and even Arc 3. Arc 2's canons will be broken down. Ordinarily, there would be 35 threads remaining within Arc 2. However, this is going to take us years if we let that happen. So, how about this? There are 10 threads left, each consisting of approximately 3-5 missions within, each mission being considered a "Canon." These ten threads will be forum super-events which will be able to take in MANY participants due to there being more than one "side-thread" associated with each "main-thread." Example? Let's say Canon X is a big thread, a huge forum event. There will be a few NPC bosses available to be signed up for you to fight in one on one cinematic combat in a side PvP thread associated with the actual main plot event of the canon. That's how that works. There will be more than PvP associated as side-threads to these however. I'd like them all, if you will, to be considered "episodes" of this coming story. These are the canon Super Events. They will cover HUGE realms of plot spanning the war against Amoguerra, The Vandenreich, and Lord Discord.
Next, we'll have faction wars. This is probably the largest and most important part of the entire thing. Several factions will competitively exist on what will be called the War Scoreboard. Those factions are Gotei Thirteen, Las Noches, Xcution. These are Player Factions. There will also be the Vandenreich, which is the main antagonist of this plot. That's where "War of Angels" comes in. Shinigami were meant to be angels, yet the Vandenreich's Quincy have claimed this title as well. Angels vs Angels. Who are the real angels? We'll find out. At any rate, the Vandenreich will have RPC participants as the first three do, but will also have a massive number of important NPC participants to keep things lively. There will also be purely NPC factions, those being Amoguerra's Faction and Lord Discord's faction. Players will not be able to join Amoguerra or Lord Discord in rank, and will instead keep whatever rank they currently possess. HOWEVER, they will have the option to join forces with one of these villains, and assist them. The same is true of the Vandenreich, though some RPCs will obviously also be a part of the Vandenreich. Unaffiliated or neutral characters will have an option in every thread they enter to claim they are under hire by whatever faction they choose. Other faction members will be able to help out factions that they do not belong to if desired. Now, what's all this for and what's it mean?
Essentially, all of these factions will have points, called War Points. What are War Points? War Points are points associated with each faction's progress in this massive war. Gotei Thirteen, Las Noches, Xcution, and the Vandenreich will all start with 100 points. Amoguerra and Discord start with 50. Other factions, such as custom ones, will come into play if created during this event. Noble Families will also be given the option to become factions of their own. Escudo, Omnitsukido, and the Kido Corps can also become separate factions if they gain enough of a following. For now, Omnitsukido and Kido Corps are considered part of Gotei Thirteen. Now, what are War Points? Based on triumphs or defeats, factions will LOSE or GAIN points. This can be done in several ways. Firstly, faction vs faction battles. Let's say an Arrancar fights a Shinigami. Arrancar defeats Shinigami? Gain 3 points for Las Noches. Gotei Thirteen loses 2 points. Las Noches now has 103, Gotei Thirteen now has 98. Say a Shinigami fights another Shinigami, and they are on the same side. Regardless of winner, they gain 1 point for boosting each other's strength. Gotei Thirteen now has 99 points whereas it previously had 98. Missions will also exist as Adventures and Quests. Adventures will be worth 10 points. Succeed in an adventure, faction gains 10 points. Fail in a mission, faction loses 8 points. Succeed in a Quest, faction takes 15 points. Fail in a quest, faction loses 10 points. Canon events will always be worth a variable number of points which will be specified with the canon event. HIGH LEVEL ENGAGEMENTS, such as between two rank level 3+ opponents of separate factions, are different. 5 to winner, 4 to loser.
So what's the point of these points? No pun intended. Based on gain and loss, there will be changes. There will be various benchmarks for points. For every benchmark passed, for example 115 being the first one, an event will be triggered for that faction which is in favor of the faction and has potential to cause great damage to others. Let's say Las Noches gains 115. Invasion of Soul Society triggers. This will be an event which can succeed or fail, and will also be worth even more points. A chance to really deck it to them. This gives the potential to gather momentum quickly for some factions. However, should a faction lose points and go below a benchmark, they will lose benefits they had previously gained from that benchmark. Some benchmarks are worth perks, like new items/techniques to that faction, and these are lost if benchmarks are lost. Once it is lost, it cannot be regained. This means that if you dip below 115 as LN, and then go back past 115, a new event and reward will not be triggered. But let's look on the other end. What if you LOSE points? There will be loss benchmarks as well which while they also cannot be repeated, they will cripple the victims. For every X points lost, that faction loses ground in some way, and an important NPC in their organization dies. When NPCs are exhausted and faction has lost all possible ground, faction is disbanded. In other words, if points can be reduced to 0, a faction will be destroyed. Some from within a faction may work against it just to cause its demise and try to take over. See, if a faction is lost, all its ranks are lost as well! To maintain these, a leader can step forward and claim power. If people follow, the organization reboots its points and starts anew with new benchmarks and the like, and a new leader and potentially structure. Of course, that leader can be disputed...
You can ally with other factions for some missions. Say you are an Arrancar, and wish to degrade your own faction. Claim that this is your desire in a thread, and undertake it. Success in the thread, meaning victory or success in your mission, will cost your own faction points. Additionally, you can ally with a faction for the duration of a thread. If you are a Shinigami, you can fight to help out Las Noches and gain them points if you so desire, if stated at the start of the thread. Unaffiliated characters, such as mercenaries and most HWD, can associate with whatever faction they desire in every thread they enter, or with none. If none, no points are involved. If they ally somewhere, points can be gained and lost. See the picture thus far? Good, we're not done.
Amoguerra and Discord, once you drop their points to zero, will automatically die assuming you have not already managed to kill them. However, at every benchmark of lower and lower numbers for their factions, you will gain an opportunity to kill them. Should you fail, there may be more. If they regain points, they will gain grounds based on benchmarks. Amoguerra, Discord, and the Vandenreich can all gain points based on your failure in their related events. The Canon Plot Threads will take you to opportunity to battle and KILL bosses beyond the main arc villains, such as those NPCs in current control of everything. Additionally, you will gain the option to side with non-existing faction's motives. Hell will begin making a move here, as will Satsujun. These will become possible to side with. Furthermore, certain events, items, perks, bonuses, and rewards will have the ability to superpower those who obtain them, allowing them to become actual, powerful, dominant plot forces not unlike an NPC.
So here's where it gets even more fun. Points aren't starting necessarily as I promised. ALL events PVP or mission which have been completed will be counted toward War Points, and in general all events on this forum are counted toward your faction's success or failure. This includes the Iron Champion Tournament. Starting from October 4, 2012, and onward, all PvP and mission threads go toward War Points if complete. Those that have died will be counted up as failure for those who held these threads up. Any thread since July 1 of course that is incompleted is not counted.
In addition to everything that I just said, there are eight SUPER ITEMS, two in possession of each faction at this moment. Gotei Thirteen, Las Noches, Xcution, and the Vandenreich all have two of these items. So what are these super items? I'll list them off now.
The Black Ring - This ring is, by all intents and purposes, absolutely the epitome of evil. Any who gaze upon it instantly desire it. Any who gaze upon it will kill to take it or guard it. Any who wear it will immediately become a shining beacon that attracts all nearby Sinners and their wrath. In possession of Las Noches.
The Hougyoku - Carefully reconstructed after its demise, it has lost much of its old power. It is not as powerful as the one first used by Azeru Cho. Rather, it is a shell of what it could once do. However, what it can do is "unleash the true form of one's power." This can be used to create Arrancar, or to create Vizards. It can do other nasty things as well. In possession of Las Noches.
The Black Beads - Similar to the ring in keep of Las Noches, these beads will be desired and killed for by all who see them. It is a necklace of small metal beads, and anyone wearing the necklace becomes a beacon to attract Sinners and their wrath. In possession of Gotei Thirteen.
Sokkyokku - The enormous spear on Sokkyokku Hill which takes 6000 reiatsu strength and 150,000 reiatsu cost to release. It is in the form of a gigantic phoenix when released, and is unblockable. Any who are hit by it and destroyed will be erased forever from the soul cycle. Gotei Thirteen possession.
Blade of Abhorrence: Teliki - It was thought destroyed by the monster King Shada, against whom the hero Arashi Manako lost his life. However, it appears to have been reconstructed as a shell of what it once was. It can be released only once for 10,000 reiatsu. Its release grants a single wish to the user. In possession of Xcution.
The Black Pyramid - A small baseball sized black pyramid which is made of metal. It can be used only by those who know "true pain" in their hearts. When used, it opens a portal to Hell. Anyone that enters Hell using this pyramid gains a "bond" with the world they entered from, and this guarantees them the ability to teleport back to their world from Hell at any time. In possession of Xcution.
Soul Cross - A relic once thought destroyed, this powerful item is different from the Quincy Cross. It is a cross fashioned from white reiatsu, and is usually kept in a box. Its light is so bright, it is blinding to look upon, like the sun. It is a source of infinite reiatsu upon which to draw. In possession of the Vandenreich.
Elder Scroll - A scroll with text that cannot be deciphered. From the ancient times of the Spirit King. Only the Emperor has shown the ability to read it, and thus its purpose is unknown. In possession of the Vandenreich.
So what is the point of these items? You will be given opportunities to grab them! For yourself, for your faction, etc. However, a certain goal will be to gather all eight. Why? Because those who gather all eight will be met with quite a reward, which for now will remain an enigma.
Is this all enough incentive for your participation? Glory, power, the biggest plot event in-site history. I bid you good luck. I hope you will do well. Worry not, almost all associated threads are NDE, minus the biggest ones.
Enjoy yourselves. Welcome to the War of Angels.
As of now, the event officially goes from 7/21/13 to 5/21/14. This is its tentative lifespan, and is subject to change.
