Irudai had not expected to appear in a newspaper building. One second, he had been training up until the last second before the tournament began, and the next he was in a newspaper building. Irudai had definitely not expected to appear in a newspaper building. Around him, there were various papers and prints with headlines which he did not understand, and photos which made no sense. Irudai had never been exposed to Soul Food, and had never known what it was. He had heard the name once, when they had said that the former Vice Captain of his squad, Hiro Kaname, would be going on leave for a while to work for this 'Soul Food.' Irudai realized that it was a newspaper, since that was the title on all of the papers, but did not know who it was for.
"What is this shit?" Irudai asked out loud. Except he didn't see anyone yet that was there. He was alone. Irudai was pretty sure that they had fucked up somewhere. Irudai was pretty sure that they had fucked up somewhere, because where the hell was his opponent? Weren't they supposed to appear at the same time? What was this shit? There was no opponent! Was Irudai's opponent air? Was it the building? The wise words of his Captain echoed in his mind. YOU CAN FIGHT ANYTHING! Irudai grinned. HE COULD FIGHT ANYTHING! He pulled out his Zanpakuto and grinned at the newspapers, the walls, the ceiling, and the windows. Who was stronger?! Irudai wondered this. The newspapers...or him?
Irudai was clad only in his traditional black pants, the Shinigami style ones. He had been training so he had no shirt. He had been training so he had no shirt, and therefore his upper body was revealed completely. He was incredibly muscular. He might have been thin for a Squad 10 member, but his body was so tight and firm, his muscles so pronounced and so large, that there was no mistaking Irudai was at least one of the top in the Soul Society for muscle mass. His body was very fit. This was because he was in Squad 10. In Squad 10, there were three main activities. Training, fighting, and fixing rooftops. That was Squad 10. Most of his muscle came from hard labor and fixing the roof, actually, though. That was in part his fault.
Irudai was getting really pissed off though that they had given him an opponent that wasn't a person he could fight! It was just a bunch of newspapers! Maybe they exploded though. Maybe they were hard to destroy. Irudai stomped on one of the copy machines and exclaimed himself proudly. "SOUL FOOD! I AM YOUR OPPONENT! I AM THE VICE CAPTAIN OF SQUAD 10, AND MY NAME IS...IRUDAI IZUUUMMMIIIII!!!!!!!! FIGHT ME!" He started slashing up the room with his sword. This was a fight, after all! He held back nothing while he slashed the room, destroying machines, tables, newspapers, and everything else around him. Combat was exhilarating! If only he was in combat with someone that wasn't a newspaper!
Going with a class up to become class 0! Cause that doesn't give me shit! Irudai Izumi doesn't need a godamn thing to get this fight started! Handicaps are for pussies.

"But the building is not your opponent, Squad 10 Lieutenant." a voice echoed, resounding within the deserted building. From behind an untouched column, he had been in hiding, watching, learning, and observing. Stepping out was a matter of ease, and was done in a fluent motion after the former, the one from the tenth division, had already massacred a lot of the room, clearing it of obstacles that would otherwise have posed as annoying in the fight. At last, it was more clear for a decisive and easy battle. That was all that was required for it to begin.
The one who had stepped forth was adorned in only a black robe, as was expected of the Shinigami to wear, and which was traditional in every way. At his side, he had his Zanpakuto. Ordinarily, perhaps, he would have worn a different outfit, but he found on this day that the regular one would suffice. He had not even bothered to bring his Haori, which had been something new he'd acquired just within the last few weeks. No, he was no longer the Lieutenant in Squad 13. That was long past. The man with neat blond hair and icy blue eyes colder than any Arctic storm was a Captain.
He was the Captain of Squad 2, Kenryoku Kawada. He had come to defeat the man known as Irudai Izumi, for this tournament had the potential to be of great value to the Kawadas, if rumors were true. As a Kawada, he must do everything that he could to further that noble family. The Kawadas were a prestigious, powerful family, yet they had suffered their noble losses, their shame, and their disgrace. For too long they had been a shadow under the boot of the other noble families. In recent years they had grown stronger, but Kenryoku wanted them to be stronger still. There would be no stopping until they were the boot, and all else the shadow.
Reviving the Kawada family is everything, and failure is nothing...
It was Kenryoku's creed, and he wore it like a badge. He did not even draw his sword as he stepped forth to greet the man that he would slay. Kenryoku stepped forwards, cracking his knuckles, one at a time. He had watched and gauged the man. Irudai had more physical strength than Kenryoku did, but the latter had more physical speed. This meant that the match could potentially be very close, or otherwise it could be a disaster for one or both of the parties. What mattered was who got the first hit. The very first hit, Kenryoku realized, could well decide who would have the advantage for the remainder of the battle.

A Captain...? Irudai thought. Irudai considered this. Captains were powerful enemies. Irudai himself hid his greatest talents for the reason that he was not powerful enough to be a Captain, and would pale if he joined their ranks. Though powerful, Irudai was not at the same level as one who was a Captain. Though powerful, Irudai was not at the same level as one who was a Captain, such as his own, Okusa, or perhaps even this one, Kenryoku. This made him weary. This made him weary, despite his incredible battle talents. Irudai was known to win against strong foes, and once before had defeated a Captain, Squad 8's, named Ranmyaku. However, this had been luck at the time, for the fool had not thought to block Irudai's strike.
Irudai was more known now than he had been. Irudai was more known now than he had been, and therefore those like Kenryoku knew to dodge him, and those like Kenryoku, who were smart to start with, would know that tanking him was not a good idea. Irudai only needed to get one hit in his released form to truly make a difference, even if his released state was easy to underestimate. No one knew what his Zanpakuto did because of how seldom he used it. Those who had found out were dead. However, word had gone around of Irudai's power, and he knew that underestimating him had become more difficult because he had become a Vice Captain. One did not simply tank a strike from a Vice Captain.
Irudai grinned and gripped his sword tightly, taking a defensive stance. He wanted very badly to attack first, but he thought that he would give an edge to Kenryoku. He thought that he would give an edge to Kenryoku, who was probably more powerful, but who did not combat physically the way that Squad 10 did. Irudai guessed that his experience with that closer combat outweighed Kenryoku's. He guessed that his experience with that closer combat outweighed Kenryoku's, so he stood there grinning and waiting for his opponent's attack. "You look strong..." Irudai commented. "Butare you? Here's our chance to find out. I'm giving you this handicap. You get the first attack! It's the only opportunity you'll get for doing real damage, so make it count."

OOC: I just changed my skills because I realized Battle Learning is outdated.
"I have nothing to prove to you." Kenryoku said, his Zanpakuto sheathed at his side. He held up his left hand, studying it carefully, and then clenched it into a fist, and held that a few inches in front of his face, just beneath his corresponding eye. Kenryoku slid back his right leg, planting himself at the center, but staying light on his toes. He brought up his right fist, also just under the corresponding eye, clenched tightly, nearer to his face than the left was. It was a boxing stance. Irudai was strong, but Kenryoku had no intention of losing to the likes of a Vice Captain, even if that Vice Captain came from Squad 10.
Kenryoku remained in his immobile position, that readied boxing stance. He was truly prepared for anything, even if that anything could be troubling later. What he had heard of Irudai was enough to put him on guard. This man had taken out a Captain before, and done so in a single hit. This man had battled at the same level as an Espada, and was known for defeating enemies with just the first attack. There was no reason for the newly promoted Captain of Squad 2 to be reckless. While his victory was assured, this was only because of his skill and his power. Part of his skill implied not underestimating his opponent.
Kenryoku considered his victory assured, but knew that in order to keep that statement true, he needed to be smart about combat. If he went for it and gave Irudai the opportunity to retaliate at a close range, then the fight would not last very long. Kenryoku was painfully aware that in order to defeat Irudai, he would need his all. That was why for that moment, he would save up his reiatsu and allow his Meiunatsuin to gather power. If Kenryoku could last just long enough to release that seal, then there was nothing Irudai would be able to do to stop or defeat him.
Kenryoku's Remaining Reiatsu: 2270/2670 Reiatsu
Meiunatsuin: 2/13
"I command you to disobey, so that I may have the pleasure of ending you..."
"Don't get me wrong. You aren't being arrested. You're being chained like an animal."
"The fuck?!" Irudai roared at Kenryoku. Irudai roared at Kenryoku because he was insulted. Irudai roared at Kenryoku because he was insulted that the Captain had thought Irudai so far beneath him that it was not worth attacking. Irudai was the person who liked fighting the most! He was giving someone who fought less than he did an opportunity to get an advantage which might be needed later. This was fucking bullshit. Kenryoku wasn't going to attack Irudai first?! KENRYOKU WASN'T GOING TO ATTACK IRUDAI FIRST!? Fuck that! Fuck that fucking hard! Irudai wasn't going to hear it or have any of that shit. Kenryoku was a bitch. Irudai was going to flay that fucker with everything he had. His sword was at the ready for him to fight Kenryoku.
"YOU FUCKING PUSSY!" Irudai challenged. "KENRYOKU, YOU TALK LIKE A BITCH, WALK LIKE A BITCH, AND EVEN SMELL LIKE A BITCH! YOU ARE ONE BIG PUSSY! I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS, AND THEN I AM GOING TO LET YOU HEAL, AND THEN I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS AGAIN! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU!" Irudai grabbed his sword and had at it. He materialized at top speed next to the support column that was next to Kenryoku, and slashed it so it began to crumble and fall toward Kenryoku. That was Irudai's distraction for the Squad 2 Captain. Fuck him! Fuck him sideways! Irudai stepped to the side to get right in front of Kenryoku as the column started falling on him.
He got up in Kenryoku's face. He got up in Kenryoku's face and started slashing at him wildly and repeatedly while grinning. He started slashing him up while laughing maniacally. Irudai kept on laughing throughout the whole encounter. "YOU BITCH!" he yelled. "YOU PUSSY!" He slashed and slashed and slashed. Kenryoku did not have the physical strength to block Irudai much. He could block him, but it would hurt. It was still better than most people, who Irudai could crush very easily with the first strike, but it was still not much. Kenryoku did not have the physical strength to block many of Irudai's strikes. Hell, he didn't even have the weapon to do that. Kenryoku had not even drawn his sword to block with! That bitch.
After the initial attack, Irudai drove in close, pushing his shoulder in toward Kenryoku so that he could really get in there into his guard. Irudai shoved his sword into the floor and it stuck in there as he got in close. At close range, he started shadow boxing around Kenryoku, and then actually started street punching. He was trying to deck Kenryoku's face and shattered it! "FUCKER! BITCH! PUSSY! BITCH! YOU WALK LIKE A GIRL!" Irudai kept on yelling. "AND I THINK YOUR HAIR IS STUPID! AND SO'S YOUR FACE!" He was saying everything that he could to let out his own steam. He was saying everything that he could to let out his own steam, and to ruffle Kenryoku's feathers. Irudai wanted the latter to attack him.
Kenryoku stepped far to the side with incredible speed. Even restricted by his Meiunatsuin, Kenryoku was very fast, even faster than a physical combatant like Irudai. He saw no point or efficiency in holding himself back when he already had a sealing technique keeping him pent up, so a simple dodge was all that it took for Kenryoku, given he held nothing back. He was out of the way of the column easily, moving backwards so that it fell in front of him. It crackled and crumbled and rumbled, and began to fall with a sound like heavy tearing.
Irudai, who tried to get in front of Kenryoku, would suddenly find the column in his way. It didn't make much of a difference since his pure strength allowed him to cut through it, but it did allow Kenryoku space to avoid the slashes since they focused on the column instead of himself, and then dodge any remaining ones that happened. Kenryoku knew enough about Irudai to have recognized from the second that the column was destroyed that the physical strength of his opponent was enough to warrant wanting to avoid any possible hit. He did not yet put himself in a situation where he could be hit, damaged, or retaliated against by Irudai.
The slashes were all strong, and he felt air wash over him, but he still moved to the side just enough that even the air would barely touch him. Air could be used as a surprisingly well working distraction by the most experienced. Irudai appeared in front of Kenryoku suddenly, but Kenryoku side stepped to dodge the shoulder barge that the Squad 10 lieutenant was planning on using against him. If he had taken that, Kenryoku imagined that most of the bones in his body would have been completely shattered. Even at a Captain level, he could not afford to take that kind of hit from Irudai. It was clear that this was a stronger opponent than most at his level.
The shadow boxing was also easy to take care of. Kenryoku could read every single movement of it with exact precision, and he dodged all of it easily with quick, simply movements of his body. Every punch, fake or not, was dodged. He was watching out and making sure that Irudai had nothing to use to fight him. He didn't want Irudai to retaliate against him so soon, but he also knew that if he didn't give Irudai enough of a fight, he would get more serious before Kenryoku was ready to do so, and that would be bad as well. He had to keep things entertaining, but just entertaining enough that there was no need to try to end it early, or rise to the next level of combat.
"Your attacks are slow," Kenryoku said. "And your form is pitiful." Following Irudai's failed punch attempts, Kenryoku at last attempted an attack. Kenryoku spoke while dodging Irudai's punches. "You have become the flower from which the bees draw nectar, and you have also become the hive from which honey is stolen by other creatures. You are nothing but resource now, and this you will carry out for the rest of your days with shame and humiliation! Saiwan #4: Suikan." Blue auras of reiatsu formed on both of his hands, and finally, with another one of Irudai's incoming punches, Kenryoku retaliated.
The first technique that he used was a retaliatory technique. He braced himself, planting his legs in a firm horse stance, shoulder width apart, and crossed his arms in front of one another. They started to vibrate with his speed, just as Irudai's punch slammed into where Kenryoku's face would have been. His arms blocked the attack, and caught the force of it as well. He flicked his arms outward after blocking the punch, redirecting the force of Irudai's strike using an advanced Hakuda technique. Not only did he negate the damage of Irudai's strike, but he turned the residual force back inwards on Irudai himself.
"Gokken." Kenryoku said, stating the name of the Hakuda technique that he had used to redirect the force of the blow. The impact had hurt, though most of it had been absorbed, and Kenryoku felt a dull ache in his arms from using Gokken against Irudai. However, because of Kenryoku's speed exceeding Irudai's strength, the attack's damage was more or less totally negated, and, given it was 900 vs 800, there was a 100 difference left. Irudai's arms and torso would feel and receive damage as if they had been struck by a punch of 100 strength. It was not enough to have much effect, but enough to surprise him a moment. Also relevant, his earlier Kido caused him to regain reiatsu by siphoning it off of Irudai during their brief moments of contact.
Worst of all for Irudai, Kenryoku had another coming attack. Firstly, when he had blocked the punch earlier, it had been with Jinbei Kawada's boxing style "Guard Hit" system, which pulled in Irudai and allowed his hit a glance. While using Gokken, Kenryoku also used "Guard Hit," which pulled Irudai offbalance as he attacked. In other words, not only did Kenryoku block the attack, but he used it to force Irudai forward a little, causing him to overextend and lose his balance. Without balance, he would have more trouble defending. Kenryoku had just the attack for such an event.
Using Shunpo Karin, Kenryoku blasted his left fist toward Irudai's left hip, aiming to hit him right there. It would however do no damage, and Irudai might be surprised by the hit which came at such fierce speed that it was almost impossible to defend himself against. The hit would leave no damage, and instead would gather nerves and blood cells into a clumped area there. This was because of Kenryoku's "Ni Higyou" boxing technique. While there wouldn't be any damage yet, that was a set-up. The next punch, to a corresponding location, would cause that blood clot area to rupture and the fight to end. Kenryoku had thought it out in advance.
Gokken earlier regained him reiatsu. If this next attack hit, it too would regain him reiatsu.
Kenryoku's Remaining Reiatsu: 2120/2670 Reiatsu (-250 total, +100 from Suikan)
Meiunatsuin: 3/13
How much Reiatsu Irudai should have: 1400/1500 Reiatsu

Irudai was taken aback. His punch not only was blocked, but he felt himself take damage from it when Kenryoku repelled him. He grinned even more widely. His arms felt like someone very weak had punched them, and he felt a dull ache in his abs as if he had been punched there too. Irudai was even pulled forwards while that happened. Many things were flashing through the Squad 10 Vice Captain's mind when he was pulled forwards and attacked by Kenryoku. Many things were flashing through the Squad 10 Vice Captains mind when he was pulled forwards and attacked by Kenryoku, including different strategies for the fight, most of which were just instinctive reactions because Irudai couldn't be assed to think of something brilliant or anything.
First though he noticed that Kenryoku had some real speed. Irudai was fast, and many had trouble keeping up against him. Kenryoku had speed that far exceeded Irudai's. Not in his wildest dreams could Irudai match his speed to Kenryoku's like that in a sealed state. They were at such a difference in speed that Irudai understood there would be attacks from Kenryoku which would be impossible to defend against because of their ferocity, and he would just have to take some of them. His next reaction was thinking on how to defend against Kenryoku. Everything that Kenryoku did was fast, and Irudai doubted that the speed was all Kenryoku had. Kenryoku was a boxer. Kenryoku was a boxer, so he probably had hard hits too.
Incoming was a very fast attack. Irudai recognized it in a split second as a punch using some kind of advanced technique on Kenryoku's arm to speed it up. It was an acceleration technique. It was an acceleration technique, and it gave Kenryoku the advantage against Irudai. The speed difference was so huge that even if Irudai tried to use Shunpo, he would still get hit. They were too close. Kenryoku was too fast. Irudai was too slow. Irudai was too slow. Of all the things, a warrior of Squad 10 was too slow to keep up with someone from another Squad. It was not completely unexpected. It was not completely unexpected, since Squad 2 was an assassination division which probably prided on speed and quickness of the kill, however Irudai still did not expect it to be so overwhelming.
Irudai decided to gamble. If Kenryoku was too fast for him to do anything against, he would gamble to beat the Captain! Irudai grinned as Kenryoku's punch connected. Irudai was even leaning into it, his body offbalance. His body offbalance, his body leaning into the hit, Irudai felt it impact, felt no damage and felt confusion at there being no damage. He felt no damage, felt confusion at there being no damage, and felt good. His arms were wide and he clamped them around Kenryoku as he was hit. Kenryoku had hit him, but Irudai used a Shunpo almost simultaneously to Kenryoku's Shunpo Karin. The faster of the attacks was Kenryoku's punch, so Kenryoku would connect. However, he had just finished his attack, and had no time to counter this one.
Irudai rammed into Kenryoku at full strength. This bodyslam would be enough to shatter every bone in Kenryoku's body, and it wasn't even the end of Irudai's attack. It wasn't even the end of Irudai's attack, for there was more coming. Irudai hugged Kenryoku as he slammed into him. They were both taken flying, and they moved through the air with Irudai hanging onto Kenryoku. If Kenryoku had been hit by the original attack, then he would also have Irudai clamped onto him hugging his already broken body and crushing it into even more bits. Irudai continued hugging the body. Irudai continued hugging the body, even as they hit the ground, and started to skid on Kenryoku's back. If all of that was what happened, the force of it would break Kenryoku's neck.
It would break Kenryoku's neck, his head would slam back into the ground, and his skull would shatter into pieces in the back. His whole body would be broken by the attempt. This was not to say that he would die, or even that he would be finished off. It was completely possible that he would have another method to keep fighting. However, the bones in his body would be broken, his skull would be given a concussion, and his neck would break. He would be crippled completely by Irudai's attack, if it hit. There were a lot of ways to stop much of it, however Irudai hoped that at least the body slam would hit Kenryoku and turn this fight in the Squad 10 Vice Captain's favor. Ending things had to be done quickly, so Irudai planned to wrap it up within the next attack if he could.

OOC: You forgot reiatsu dock for my Kido hitting you.
An explosion of reiatsu knocked Irudai away as he approached. His momentum, even from Shunpo, was stopped and he was blown away on his approach. Kenryoku hadn't even finished retracting his one arm when that happened, but he had seen the approach of the Squad 10 Lieutenant, and had known that he didn't have the time to get himself out of the way, even with his speed, unless he released Meiunatsuin. Since it was not yet charged, Kenryoku refused to release Meiunatsuin however, and that was why he'd released what he did.
The Phoenix. A power he had created which released his reiatsu around him in a huge cloak that kept attackers at bay. Its release had knocked Irudai back to stop him from body slamming Kenryoku, but it had more strategic value than that. It was shaped and formed into Kenryoku's mold, mimicking him perfectly, but in giant. It was several times Kenryoku's size, and could still get even bigger if he willed it to. What was worse, it had physical effects, and that was what Kenryoku planned to take advantage of. His hand finished retracting by the time Irudai was blown away, but he reached out with his free hand anyway to get things done.
Irudai, knocked away by the huge blast, would be offbalance. Not only would he have no balance, but he was slow, and Kenryoku was much faster. With their difference in speed, Irudai was going to have a tough time stopping what Kenryoku was about to throw at him. Kenryoku's hand that had not already thrown a punch reached out, and grew to be the size of a house, keeping itself upright in front of and around Irudai. This blocked off his escape route, and also closed him in right in front of Kenryoku. Irudai was closed in, with nowhere to go, and even releasing wouldn't create a shockwave that could push Kenryoku back while that cloak was up.
Kenryoku's hand portion of the cloak left no room for Irudai to maneuver to, and therefore it trapped him, already offbalance, with a wall encircling him on all sides. Kenryoku's other hand had a cloak of reiatsu around it which was normal size, and was barely anything more than an outer layer. Only one hand was gigantic. The other was regular size, for Kenryoku planned to finish Irudai. This next attack might still leave Irudai able to continue, but victory was assured and absolute if it did hit. What Irudai had not counted on, clearly, was meeting an opponent who was so skilled in combat. Kenryoku may not have the greatest destructive potential, but he was skilled.
His hand that had just thrown a punch launched out again, using Shunpo Karin to accelerate into a punch to Irudai's other side. If this one hit, then the Ni Higyou technique was completed. This meant that while the original had not damaged Irudai, this hit would cause blood to explode out of the clot which had formed in the area of the original punch. A large hole would be left in Irudai's side and he would have already lost a lot of blood, and would continue to lose even more. The fight was not going to go anywhere for Irudai with that level of injury. Therefore, getting hit might just be the end of him. Kenryoku had prepared himself to destroy, and this was how he did it.
Kenryoku's Remaining Reiatsu: 1670/2670 Reiatsu
Meiunatsuin: 4/13
"I command you to disobey, so that I may have the pleasure of ending you..."
"Don't get me wrong. You aren't being arrested. You're being chained like an animal."
Irudai gasped and fell to one knee. He gasped and fell to one knee, a large gaping hole in his body. Blood poured out, for he was wounded. Irudai did not know what to do. Irudai did not know what to do, nor how to continue to combat this Captain level opponent. He was very powerful, there was no doubt about that. Irudai too was powerful, however he was not as skilled. This perhaps was what led to his downfall. It would be a mistake to believe that Irudai had no method however of countering. Had he utilized his Bankai release, he could have blown away Kenryoku to prevent him from landing the hit. He could have blown away Kenryoku to prevent him from landing the hit, but Irudai had instead made the split second decision not to reveal his full power to a Captain.
Irudai coughed out blood onto the ground, continuing to grin. Despite the pain and his injuries, Irudai could still smile. Despite the pain and his injuries, Irudai could still smile, and he could also still stand. Irudai was shaky at first, but he eventually stood. His blood loss had been great. A very large puddle was at his feet, and his clothing was becoming stained by the running of blood down his body. The blood spray from the hit had gotten some on his face as well, and the blood from his mouth ran down the corners of his lips and to his chin. Irudai had smears all over his body of his own blood. He kept grinning, however, watching Kenryoku. He did not blink. He held the same creepy grin throughout the whole time as he spoke.
"That's what I'm fucking talking about!" Irudai exclaimed. "You're good. You're fucking good. Is this what it means to be a Captain? You fucking got me." Irudai's vision started to blur. Just from that wound, he was bleeding profusely. He stood and spoke as if it meant nothing, but his knees were a little bit wobbly. His knees were a little bit wobbly, and his vision was blurring. He had taken very serious damage. Irudai was of the belief that Kenryoku also loved battle. Perhaps he would not admit it, but Kenryoku did love battle. Irudai knew this to be true. Irudai knew this to be true because of the ferocity behind Kenryoku's attacks. He could see it in Kenryoku's eyes. There had been a satisfaction in landing that hit.
"I don't know what that giant reiatsu around you is..." Irudai said. "I don't really care, either. All that matters is I think you're fucking strong, and I'm not gonna hold back anymore. You hit me with a really serious blow, and I don't think that I can fight you for much longer. I'm gonna make you fucking regret not taking me out just now, though." Irudai's reiatsu started to glow around his body. It appeared to merely be an outline over his skin, but the static feeling in the air intensified, and Kenryoku would be able to feel energy resonating from Irudai's body. There was lots of energy and power involved here. Irudai held up his sword and grinned at Kenryoku. His blade began to glow, and despite the pain from it and the blood loss, Irudai bellowed at Kenryoku.
"EXPLODE, KAMIKISOKUUUUU!!!!!!!!" Irudai's glowing sword shrank down to become a Swiss army knife with a two inch blade. He grinned more. He was grinning nonstop. He was grinning nonstop because the battle had gotten good. "You lookin' down on my blade?" he asked Kenryoku. "Well don't. The reason it's so small is so that I can enjoy my fights as much as possible." Irudai started to flex his muscles, and blood continued dripping from his wound. He tore off a whole pant leg from his pants, and wrapped it sloppily around himself. He tightened it. It was almost ineffective because he had no healing ability. It served no purpose, except to make Irudai feel better about the wound. It only partially stemmed the bleeding, and this was by chance.
"When I stop holding back, my opponents don't usually have a fucking chance." Irudai explained. "So when I release my Zanpakuto, it becomes smaller so that I can enjoy the fight with my full power. It has a lot less destructive power if it's just a little tiny knife. Get ready, though...This little tiny knife's gonna split your head open!" Irudai vanished with incredible speed and appeared behind Kenryoku. Shunpo would have been risky given Irudai's injury, so he used regular speed. His speed had doubled, allowing him to move even more quickly than Kenryoku. With tripled strength, Irudai packed a punch too. A single thrusting movement created air blasts that would shatter Kenryoku if they hit, and a stab attack that on impact would turn Kenryoku into a blob of jelly. How to dodge?

The cloaked form around Kenryoku exploded in proportions. The size of the thing expanded immediately, and this in turn would blast Irudai away as he approached. His body would be blasted back, his arm knocked upward, and his wound further stressed than ever before. The arm being knocked upward naturally prevented Irudai was being able to send air blasts at Kenryoku, and being blown away took him out of range of attack as well. Having landed one move, Kenryoku no longer needed to continue to attack. It might not kill Irudai, but he would be aware that he could no longer approach Kenryoku.
With the state of that profusely bleeding wound, and a lack of healing ability, Irudai would simply bleed out from continued combat. Physical combat against Kenryoku was impossible while he used that cloak. Defeating him would never work out for Irudai. It was obviously expected that a Captain should have this level of power, and it should also have been expected that no Lieutenant could ever lay his hands on the power of a Captain. Any Captain that was weaker than and lost to a Lieutenant or even took sufficient damage from one was weak, undeserving of their rank, and overall nothing but a disgrace.
Kenryoku had knocked Irudai away, and that was it. That was his only action taken against the Lieutenant. There was no more need to continue. Irudai was finished. Kenryoku knew that the Lieutenant had the power to keep fighting, but he knew that Irudai should also realize that the more he attacked, the more he would be repelled by this cloak which was invincible to melee combatants, and the more he would bleed until he either died or lost consciousness. Such a battle was pointless. Even a berserk fighter like Irudai should know this much. Kenryoku did not turn to face Irudai as he spoke.
"Your level of strength is both commendable and admirable." Kenryoku explained. "You are easily the most powerful of all the Lieutenants, and even some of our Captains, the weaker and more disgraceful ones naturally, would fall to you. However, to the likes of a true Captain of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, you are nothing. Defeating you is easy in that circumstance. Furthermore, I am a Kawada as well. Even the greatest genius in the world could never be considered more than mediocre when compared to a Kawada. We are naturally gifted, born to be geniuses beyond geniuses from our first days of life."
Kenryoku's incessant bragging about being a Kawada was something he held to be of absolute truth, whether or not others agreed. It could be said that the Kawadas were indeed powerful, and that Kenryoku himself was extremely powerful and skilled. He had at least some basis by which to claim that Kawadas were special, especially when there were two Kawada Captains acting in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. "Do not fight me any further." Kenryoku ordered. "If you do, you will die, and this would be a waste to the Seireitei. You are beaten. Know this. Accept your own defeat with dignity."
"I command you to disobey, so that I may have the pleasure of ending you..."
"Don't get me wrong. You aren't being arrested. You're being chained like an animal."
