This is a closed training thread held between Academy students Akeru Kurohi and Kyomei Mitsukaru.
Kyomei and Akeru both pride themselves in their reiatsu based combat capablilities. It was only a matter of time before they would have a spar to see who was better, and in the process hone themselves and each other. The setting is NDE and the training is for general TP. The weather is clear and the time is early evening after classes and before supper.

Kyomei ran just one word through his head again and again throughout the day of class. “Rival?” Kyomei had found that there was another like him, another who took pride in his spiritual strength and the level of his reiatsu-based combat. Another who’s mind was much stronger than his body. One who could easily be called his rival. This man, Akeru Kurohi, would be a perfect match in combat. Someone like him could very well be a partner who would hone Kyomei’s own skills and experience in battle. He had thought about it the entire day, hoping that when he approached Akeru that he would feel the same way. After the last class of the day, Kyomei went looking for him in the various courtyards around the Academy.
It was an exciting prospect for Kyomei, finding another like him. Kyomei was very reclusive, very introverted, and had very few people whom he called friends. He hoped that he could find a kindred spirit somewhere in the Academy, one who was intelligent enough to see the proper Order of things as Kyomei did. To see that everything had its proper place and to go outside that was to do wrong. Everyone that Kyomei had ever met hadn’t understood him. They called him OCD and weird and judgmental. It wasn’t his fault that other people weren’t in tune with proper Balance as he was. There had to be just one person somewhere in the world who was the same as him. He couldn’t be all alone, could he? “You… You’re Akeru Kurohi, aren’t you? Would you have some time to spare with me?”

OOC: I'm going to Color Code my paragraphs, Uncolored is for TP. Red paragraphs will be for Shunpo. Blue will be for Horin. Basically that's what i meant for color coding. Anyways good luck and may the we enjoy the fight to the fullest.
Akeru was exiting his classes, he had a tough day in kendo class today. If Madrugal-Sensei hit him one more time, he was about ready to scream his head off. Summon his Phasmatis ability and chop his head off, however that would be most unbecoming of someone looking for the prestigue of being the Third Seat of Squad Six, and underling of one of the most powerful captains of the Gotai 13. Sozen Kuchiki, Akeru was taking more and more steps toward his goal. He was doing his best in his first year and had even taken the step to acquire what was almost impossible in his stage of development, his zanpakutou.
It was strapped on his right side, he never went anywhere without it. And by now his waist was getting used to the weight that the sword put on him. He turned left walking leisurely to his dorm room, it was nice to get lucky and have the room to himself. He sighed, he was still feeling kinks from the fight. His mind flashed to it, flying at the teenager with the glasses and the different colored eyes and the next thing he knew . He was flying and being crushed against stone by a tornado. He gritted his teeth. Nothing like that would ever happen again.
He turned down another corridor and into a courtyard. He sensed something and before he could verify who it was, or by the matter what it was a voice piped up behind him. “You… You’re Akeru Kurohi, aren’t you? Would you have some time to spare with me?” His eyes opened slowly, and looked behind him. There was a kid, Akeru looked him right in the eyes, his almost alien face turned into a half smile as the Sapphire Blue met the Light Brown. "Yes, I am Akeru Kurohi."
A spar? hmmm, Akeru let his sensory take over instinctively. This Person, whomever he was. He was about Akeru's strength in terms of Reiastu, which was quite impressive considering how much Akeru had grown in such little time. Akeru noted the sword strapped to his waist as well, he had a zanpakutou of his own. "As to your question about the sparing match, are you sure? Because ever since my battle with a certain Student, my power has grown exponentially." Akeru let his full power flow for a couple seconds, Kyomei would feel it. Gravitational pressure was taking effect on him without Akeru really realizing he was doing it.
Kyomei would feel the strength leaving his legs and his knees begin to shake, and on top of that would lose the ability for that moment to breathe. Akeru was still just smiling serenely, he then reasserted control over his power and all of those feelings would go away for Kyomei. Akeru had no knowledge of his class difference, as he had only fought equal and stronger opponents. He just stood there, contemplating whether to fight or to go home. Kyomei might have even felt the need to run after that show of power.
Spar then, He said as he let a controlled amount of energy let loose. Even his eyes were flowing with the reiastu, he pumped out reiastu and from his hand sprouted a staff and from there the main blade and secondary blade on the back half of the head of his phasmatis Axe. He raised it up, resting it on his left shoulder, His smile never left his face. "Now then? Shall we begin?"

"Such power... I can't... breathe easily. This truly is a powerful opponent... Definitely someone who could help me grow in power." Kyomei was left weak at the knees and gasping for air as the force of Akeru's strength was reigned back. If Kyomei was to get into a spar with him, there would be little chance for victory. Akeru could, at a whim, take his breath away and weaken him without any sort of drawback. However, Kyomei was not one to give up, not one to back down. This would be an effective learning experience, going up against a far superior opponent. Akeru's experience and level of power was a huge factor in this fight. Instinctively Kyomei began to analyze the surroundings and the environment for any sort of advantage. They were alone in the courtyard, and there was a lone tree in the middle. This would provide no cover at all, nor would the benches placed around it. If Kyomei needed to protect himself from any sort of attack, his Zanpakutou would be his best bet. Kyomei could roughly sense that his reiatsu strength was strong enough in comparison to Akeru's that there wouldn't be an issue in stopping his opponents blade.
Akeru's sapphire blue eyes lit up as reiatsu poured from them. His entire being seemed to give off an aura of power as reiatsu flowed to form a large double bladed axe. Being made of reiatsu, this giant weapon must require no more strength than a dagger, meaning this could be a dangerous weapon. Being made of reiatsu might mean that it also had hidden abilities. "It would probably be best not to let that cut me. Besides the obvious pain and damage it would cause, it might have more sinister ability" Akeru lifted his large axe to rest on his shoulder, still smiling the whole time. This was one person who obviously reveled in combat. Maybe he would not be as similar to Kyomei as he had hoped. "Now then, shall we begin?" He was a rash one, wasn't he... "You get ahead of yourself, Kurohi-san. I haven't even introduced myself. I am Kyomei Mitsukaru, first year Academy Student. It is nice to make your acquaintance. Now that I've introduced myself, I am ready to begin."
Kyomei put his hand to the hilt of his Zanpakutou and leapt backwards. A little distance was important, especially when he needed to analyze the situation to strategically combat his opponent. He had never drawn his Zanpakutou against another person in a duel, but he was proficient enough with a blade to know exactly what to do to keep the enemy at bay. Kyomei only hoped that he would have the physical ability to put his sword where it needed to be in time. He didn't draw it just yet, but waited for the right moment. As he prepared himself for the battle ahead, he tried to analyze his opponent. Would he exert his power to force him to submit, would he use his slightly superior reiatsu strength to hold him down, would he use brute strength to batter him to pieces? Kyomei would need to watch Akeru a bit longer in order to find out. All this analysis took place even before Kyomei hit the ground. Upon hitting the ground, he placed a foot behind him in a defensive stance, ready to move where he needed or defend himself in another way as necessary. Kyomei was ready to learn and to fight to the best of his ability, no matter the difference in power between them.

Akeru watched as the man introduced himself, was the look on his face disgust? Was he disappointed? There were so many things that could explain this, Akeru tilted his head to the side and his faced morphed into a serious expression. "Do not take me for one that loves combat, I will spar with you. But I will not kill you, or maim you if i can help it." Akeru swung around the axe, it was slow, methodical. Around the speed stat of 60. Fast for a human but for slow for a shinigami.
His grip was loose on the Ax, however unknown to Kyomei. It was for the main reason was the whole physical show was a charade. He was controlling the Ax with his mind, simply put that if he wanted to he could let go at any time. But for now he wanted to test the waters, he simply raised his right hand pointing his right index finger straight at Kyomei, aiming for his right shoulder. Speaking as fast as he could, he chirped out, "HadofourByakurai!"
Because of his special skill, his ability to talk was unmatched in terms of speed in the seireitei, and the Gotai 13. It was a speed to the point Kyomei would probably only caught the end Byakurai. Even that would have come out as mush to the Student. Lightning flared from his finger, forming as a strong, blazing, bolt of electricity. It shot out surging to hit his target. Would Kyomei dodge? Would he block? What would be his move Akeru's attack was basic and merely a test to see where the teen stood, hopefully Kyomei would be on Taien's level. And from there they could both have some fun.

Kyomei watched as Akeru tried to make sense of his first impression. "Do not take me for one that loves combat, I will spar with you. But I will not kill you, or maim you if i can help it." This was a relief, maybe the man was redeemable after all. As Kyomei stood in his defensive stance, Akeru began to swing his axe. Kyomei immediately suspected that it was a distraction. As he had previously leapt backwards, Akeru was nowhere near close enough to hit him with that swing of his axe. But as Akeru began to clench his right hand in a pointing guesture and raise his arm, Kyomei understood his intention. A Byakurai was a common Kido and was fired from the caster's finger. As his arm reached its peak Kyomei didn't hesitate and prepared to shunpo away if his suspicions were correct.
"HadofourByakurai" Wow this guy could talk fast. Even with his shunpo ready Kyomei couldn't even fully dodge it. The Byakurai singed the back of his shihakusho in passing. The burnt garment was not to comfortable to wear, so Kyomei left it behind when he stepped out of his shunpo. This left him wearing only a set of thin cloth robes. "Now I'm going to be up all night repairing that for tomorrow's classes... Well, I guess that's the risk you take in combat." Kyomei's shunpo took him a good thirty feet at least away from Akeru. Kyomei decided that it would be best for him to draw his Zanpakutou now.
With a swift movement the blade slid out of its scabbard at his side and flashed in front of him. It was a shorter than average blade, measuring two feet long, and was classified as being an Uchigatana type blade. It was curved farther down the blade to allow for better maneuverability in removing it from the scabbard. There was no guard on the weapon, just a two inch bronze ring that connected the oaken hilt to the blade. Half way up the blade, at the point where it started to curve, there was a small notch seemingly removed from the back of the blade. Having drawn his Zanpakutou, Kyomei was ready to defend again against Akeru, this time being wary of his incredible speaking speed. If he so much as opened his mouth, Kyomei would be ready to take action.

Akeru frowned, he missed....drat. Although what caught his attention was the techinques that Kyomei used to evade. Watching him, Akeru could see the reiastu channeling at the bottom of his feet, and using that as a catalyst to push off the ground with greater propulsion. That could be useful. Akeru was able to follow Kyomei's movements perfectly fine, even in that level of speed. The reason was that his senses and instincts and even his energy sensory were all high enough to allow him to easily track the movements of a student using a stepping techinque, or whatever it was.
He threw his arm up and his axe spun up and vanished from sight, he was going to try it. Akeru surged his power again, controlled but as much as he could channeling it down to his feet. The power in his feet was enormous, and he could feet it down to his toes. The reiastu was there and he just needed to use propulsion to get it going. Akeru flexed his leg muscles and stepped off. The feeling was incredible, with a noise like a gun shot. He propelled himself right after Kyomei, but he was unprepared for the consequences of using so much power at once. It wasn't something that he was comfortable being able to do in any case either, physically speaking.
His leg muscles strained from the pressure, and he didn't use any counter reiastu to help with the impact of the landing. He landed and slid three feet to the left behind of Kyomei, he had a grimace on his face from the pain of his first attempt. Clouds of dust were toiling in the air around his feet from the velocity of his travel. "Yes, combat no matter whether if it is sparring or real is probably going to tear up your clothes. But better your clothes then your flesh. Wouldn't you agree?" Akeru used his speed to instinctively close the distance and put his right hand on Kyomei's shoulder.
Multi-tasking, while he put his hand on his opponent he put his left index finger right on Kyomei's lower back. He didn't say anything only stood there, letting his legs get back and adjust to the technique he had just tried to use. Akeru was curious, "Kyomei, what is the technique you use to propel yourself so quickly?" He waited in this position, he had reiastu ready to summon his Ax again should Kyomei try any funny business. But he doubted it. Kyomei knew how fast Akeru could speak and a Byakurai through the back would be extremely painful.

Coming out of his shunpo, Kyomei caught a glance of Akeru trying to copy him. His reiatsu was largely unsteady and unfocused. Thus, when his body was thrown forward he had lost control and ended up with a rough landing. That would hurt plenty. However, Akeru was fast, much faster than Kyomei. Kyomei estimated that the speed of Akeru's shunpo, however unfocused, must denote a speed capability of almost twice that of his own. Thus he had no way of getting away before Akeru had his finger pressed into the small of his back. Another Byakurai at this range would tear Kyomei to pieces. There had to be another way to get out of this situation, perhaps diplomatically or just plain tricky? "Kyomei, what is the technique you use to propel yourself so quickly?" What? He didn't know the simple technique of the Shunpo? Interesting... This could prove very useful.
"You don't know of the Shunpo? It's quite simple, really. You're technique is not bad for your first time, just focus the reiatsu better. Yours is too shaky and unstable. Also, you need to get ready for your landing before you even step away. That way the speed doesn't surprise you too much." "If he doesn't even know of the Shunpo, then I may have some advantage in techniques here..." Kyomei's body blocked his hands from view, so while Akeru was just sitting there threatening him with his finger, Kyomei concocted a plan in an instant. Two things happened at the same time. Reiatsu pooled underneath Kyomei's feet to push off into another shunpo and at the same time orange reiatsu jumped from his hand to wrap around Akeru's hands and hind them together. That should give him the fraction of time required for his Shunpo to leave the three inches of deadly space of the Byakurai. It wouldn't be much, so Kyomei made sure to pivot around to look out for any incoming attacks.

Huh, so that's where he went wrong. There was a name for it, it was called shunpo or Flash step. How fitting, considering that Akeru had disappeared in a great flash. He was busy mulling over everything that Kyomei had told him. Less power on the step, more control, more of a glide. And to brace the body on impact knowing when you land you need to apply equal counter force. Huh, lots of science to this wasn't there. But no pain no gain for those who could use a technique that was well worth the result.
However he was unprepared for the trick that Kyomei used on him. Before he knew what had happened his wrists were bound together in a kidou spell he was only vaguely familiar with. It was a binding spell type, he believed the name of this spell was Horin. There was a page on this spell in one of the books in Reti-sensei's class. It was meant to literally bind the target to prevent movement. However it may have restricted his hands, it did nothing on his reiastu. Most reiastu techniques required the hands, although he had shown he summoned it last with his hands. He didn't need to considering it's base use.
He merely channeled a large amount of reiastu and the reiastu rope that was connected between Akeru and Kyomei was suddenly severed as an axe cleaved right through the energy like butter. hitting the ground and sinking down to the shaft. However Kyomei needed to be paying attention and on guard to much more then that. As that was the least of his worries. Another larger axe, identical to the first was swinging right at his neck looking to decapitate him. It was traveling as fast as Akeru could move, even with his sword out the axe's weight and striking strength was far higher then Kyomei could even hope to try to block. It would just grab his blade break it and cleave into him.
Akeru pulled at the bonds holding his wrists while flaring his reiastu and the bonds snapped but not after a bit of effort. He was proving that while he may have been lacking in the technique department, he was making up for it in the ingenuity of the two techniques he did have. Kyomei needed to become more aggressive or all that would happen would be that Akeru would drive him into the ground until he couldn't move.

Kyomei didn't expect the kido he used to be anything more than a distraction. It was a bit of a shock that the axe Kyomei had seen earlier had sprung from nowhere. So it would seem that his ability was not limited to just his hands. Being formed from nowhere meant that he did not need to swing it with his hands and could manipulate it through just thought. That ability would require much more caution in the future. Caution was good, caution kept you safer, meant you had more time to analyze the situation to form the best plan. As the blade of the Phasmatis axe descended upon the Horin rope, there would be a snag. It wouldn't be much, but the axe would not cut through the Bakudo as easily as Akeru had expected. Kyomei's energy sensory was not amazingly honed, seeing as he was only in the Academy, but even he could sense that the axe did not have the same reiatsu strength that Akeru did.
As the axe was flung towards him, Kyomei did not run away, he did not dodge. He swung his Zanpakutou, cleaving at the axe with all his might. He didn't know if it would work, but it was worth the effort. Just running away was not going to help him train any. The blade would pass cleanly through it, severing the axe in half completely and leaving Kyomei unharmed. "So it seems you aren't as strong as you boast yourself to be. Shall we continue?" Kyomei blasted forwards towards Akeru with another Shunpo, cleaving at his other axe. The blade would again be severed and this time Akeru's chest was completely open to the attack. After completing this slash, Kyomei wasted no time in spinning to strike the legs and position himself to jump out of the way of any counter strike that would follow.
He was fast, but not near as fast as Akeru. Kyomei was completely counting on the entire force of surprise as his main ally. Akeru was smug and thought himself to be so far superior to Kyomei that he could not be beaten. "You know what they say about the bigger they are..." Akeru couldn't block Kyomei's attacks seeing as his axes were shreaded easily, and his Shunpo wasn't developed enough for him to be able to gather the reiatsu properly in time to dodge away. If he wanted to go through the intense pain of a failed Shunpo, that was his decision, but if he decided to stay, he would need some way of defending himself better than an axe easily cut.
OOC: I did the math, you can't argue. Your Reiatsu Strength is 218. That means your axe has the Reiatsu strength of 109 due to this, "move at 100% of his speed yet only 50% of his reiastu strength" for a Class 4 axe. Due to this, "It now takes more a 60% higher reiastu strength of the swords to break even one of his Axes" the required reiatsu strength is equal to 109 x 1.6 which equals 174.4 With a reiatsu strength of 195, Kyomei can easily slice through those axes.

OOC: You did well, i'll give you that. But my speed is not the only thing that gives me a edge in this fight.
IC: Kyomei shredded his first axe which was a surprise to Akeru, his Axe's Reiastu Strength was apparently not high enough in number four mode. It was an interesting problem but one that wasn't hard to deal with, Akeru could see the shift in Kyomei's reiastu that was flowing through his body. He could guess that his next attack would be to destroy the second axe or to attack Akeru directly. As he spoke he gave Akeru all the information he needed to know. He was flaunting his power to break Akeru's number 4 Axes. So what? Akeru had the easiest remedy for this.
As Kyomei used a shunpo, Akeru's axe changed. Flames sparked into life upon his 2nd axe. Akeru had used one of the secondary properties of his axes, being able to switch between levels by paying the cost was merely child's play for him. As Kyomei connected with his second axe, he'd fine that he wasn't going to cleave through this one like the first one. He'd slam into it hard, probably jarring his arms and the muscles that connected at the joints. It would have been like going one hundred to zero in next to nothing.
Akeru had enough, he had seen all he needed to when it came to the next technique that he used. He had just had an error on the power last time but he didn't need to push off so hard as much as glide. He just used what reiastu that was already flowing in his body. Pressing off the ground with it and stepped off, his power was a little under this time and he was traveling himself at around a stat speed of around 1000, he landed 20 feet behind Kyomei at the tree in the center of the courtyard. He was smiling at himself, because even if his power was off. His form was down. He laughed and stepped again.
Akeru landed to the left of Kyomei by about 4 feet, then pushed off again, gradually getting the power up to the max that was flowing through his body. His mistake was purely forcing the step. He was trying way to hard and forcing his reiastu out making his energy unstable. Now that he was just flowing, it was much more simplistic. He landed back at his original position, stepped again to fly past Kyomei and back to the tree, He loved the feeling of the energy rushing through him. It was amazing and incredibly fun all at once.
Akeru landed, turning back to see Kyomei. His axe swiveled around and faced Kyomei, guarding his body between any attack that would be coming. However Akeru was more worried that the attack that Kyomei had tried and failed to accomplish was going to have serious repercussions on his arms. Hopefully he would still be able to fight, Akeru defiantly hoped for that. He wasn't done sparring as he had just learned a valuable techinque today, maybe he could pick up on another. "Are you okay? Will you be able to continue?"

Pain. Agonizing pain. This was the cost of being reckless. Kyomei had pushed his attack too hard, being too confident after shredding the one axe so easily. The new axe was much stronger and didn't even dent as Kyomei's Zanpakutou hit it with almost the momentum of an entire Shunpo. This pain... I am usually able to shrug off minor pains, I've picked up a little pain resistance over the years, but this pain is beyond anything that I have ever gone through... It feels like the bones in my arms have fractured in several places..." There were most certainly breaks in his forearms, but luckily Akeru had left with his Shunpo before the axe flames had heated up Kyomei's Zanpakutou to levels where he would be injured. Kyomei decided that staying calm was the best way to let the throbbing pain dull down. Getting worked up over his injuries would only serve to cause him to panic and be unable to think clearly. To overcome not only his opponents superior skills but uninjured body, he needed the entirety of his mental faculties.
Akeru was still fixated on learning that simple Shunpo. He gathered reiatsu again and this time didn't put enough into it and only managed to squeak by. He still managed to get a fair amount of distance, but that he didn't land in a bone jarring crash was an improvement. "I'm quickly losing my advantage over him. He's working out the kinks quite efficiently... He may have been able to copy a simple Shunpo, but what about my own mix of Kido that is much more complicated. Who knows, maybe I will actually cause a bit of damage with this one..." Akeru started to immerse himself in his new found success, not even paying any attention to Kyomei in the least. Kyomei knew he had to do something about the breaks in his arms, so he worked out a plan in an instant to fix that.
Even with high energy sensory, Akeru would have no way to detect subtle changes in Kyomei's internal spiritual signature. He had never tried this before, but it had to make sense that there was a time when experimentation needed to occur. Kyomei focused the power of Horin, not outside his body at all, but on the inside of his body, controlling his hand from the focal point of his elbow. While Akeru was busy working out how to flow his reiatsu into a seamless Shunpo, which would take eight seconds, Kyomei was busy trying to get even a little power to make his arms move, even slightly. Akeru stopped his playing next to the tree, twenty feet away from Kyomei. He turned and kept his axe in a guarded position. Kyomei knew he had to be a bit more cautious than he was last time, especially seeing as Akeru could change the power of his axe before a Shunpo could reach him. "Are you okay? Will you be able to continue?"
"What a dumb question, of course I will fight on. I will fight until I have no more strength left. Giving up is not my way." Kyomei put all of his strength into connecting his right elbow and his right hand. That was all that was necessary for now. Once this trick had been completed, he would have plenty of time to work on the other arm. Kyomei put on a big smile, lifted up his arm, and used the Horin to control the forearm, forming a waving gesture. "Of course I'm ok, I'm not even hurt at all! You think I'm some weakling that gets put out of commission by a simple block, pshh, you're crazy!" It was all a charade of course, and the surprise would obviously buy him the two seconds necessary to fix his other arm too. "You ready for one of my best Kidos? Bakudo #10, Horin!" Calling out the Bakudo was another charade. Instead, he allowed the bond holding his hand to expand, surrounding his hands like gloves. With his Zanpakutou held in his left hand in a defensive position, he raised his right hand in a boxing stance. He knew it would look funny, but he was ready to fight once more.

Akeru was confused, and because he was confused he began to fidget. It barely hurt him at all? He was lying, and because of that Akeru knew too things. This fight was in his favor after all, and Kyomei was a horrible liar. Akeru didn't know how he was still able to move his arms after that kind of crash, the fact that he was still able to wave had make Akeru confused. And of course because he was confused he began to fidget. His eyes were a little squinted in confusion and his face was blank. However he got a reaction from Kyomei's next statement, it sent him into a frenzy of nervousness.
"You ready for one of my best Kidos? Bakudo #10, Horin!"
Akeru knew now what Horin did and he wasn't going to let it touch him again, so using his mind he in acted a quick but powerful defense. Turning the Axe blade parallel to the both of them it began to spin at an incredibly fast rate, as fast as it could go. The fact that it was also on fire created a large shield disk of flames in front of Akeru to block the attack that he thought was coming, however he never felt anything impact the axe with his mind. So with that knowledge under his belt, He thought about his predicament. He was hidden from Kyomei's vision and Kyomei couldn't go through his shield but he could always go around it while he was here thinking but he doubted it so he pointed his finger where Kyomei had been.
His movements and intentions would be hidden by the spinning axe. Electricity sparked across his left index finger, and he mentally called out Byakurai. As the spell began to fire the axe stopped spinning, it's blade turning once again to guard against attacks. While at the same time lightning streaked at Kyomei. He would have had little to know warning and if he didn't move he was going to be shot. Akeru looked serious, but also a little worried. "Why don't attack me for once? All this aggressive attacking really isn't my style. And if you're so fine, then why not?" If he was telling the truth then he had nothing to lose.

Akeru didn't look completely fooled by Kyomei's charade, which was perfectly fine. There had been plenty of time to fix his arms and that is what really mattered right now. Akeru then decided to be defensive and spin his flaming axe in circles. The problem with this was that it only protected him from one direction, the direction directly facing Kyomei. Kyomei could move in any direction and directly attack Akeru. With Akeru's vision impaired, there was no way he would be able to see Kyomei move. "But... he's already demonstrated that he can sense me. If I try to move, he will just track me with his energy sensory and re-position himself... wait! What about that Kido that I read about in the library! That should work!" Kyomei took no time at all to get ready to try and pull off this Kido. Waiting would only allow his opponent to have time to attack.
Kyomei summoned his reiatsu and began to work on the fairly complex Kido. It required him to bend light around him, masking not only his image, but also his spiritual pressure. If he could get this to work, he would be totally invisible to Akeru, not just by sight but also by energy sensory. The axe of Akeru's was six feet long, so the range that he would be unable to see would be hindered by three feet of axe. Kyomei did some quick calculations in his head. They were standing twenty feet away from each other, and at that distance, Akeru would be unable to see anything in the direction of Kyomei for roughly forty feet in either direction. The sheer size of Akeru's axe made visibility very difficult.
Controlling reiatsu to bend light wasn't too difficult of a technique to work out, the biggest problem was bending -all- of the light around him to make a perfect isolation from sight and energy sensory. Kyomei knew that on his first attempt he could never manage to bend the light that perfectly, so he did what made sense, he did it twice. He spoke quietly enough that there would be absolutely no way that Akeru could hear him from such a distance. "Bakudo Bakudo number number twenty twenty six six, Kyakko Kyakko." Doing two incantations at the same time was often a technique to baffle the opponent and ready two different Kidos, but what was stopping him from readying the same one twice?
Mentally prepared, and with incantations vocalized, Kyomei pulled on the light around him once, bending it to try and protect him. He quickly found flaws in it. "I didn't expect it to be good, but this is just awful!" The second bending helped fix some of his gaps, but that didn't make it perfect at all. This barrier, despite being formed of two close but separate barriers, had half the strength of the true power of it. His corporal image would be hidden completely, but an opponent with half as much energy sensory would be able to detect him easily. With his barrier in place, Kyomei tested it by moving around his 80 foot safe invisibility zone. It felt good, moved fairly well with him. At this point, Akeru started to change his tactics. His axe stopped spinning and his finger was pointed outwards, a Byakurai being shot right at him.
It took no effort or much time at all to Shunpo directly overhead of Akeru. Akeru wouldn't be able to see him, and if he didn't have enough of an ability to sense energy than he his spiritual pressure would be masked completely as well. "Why don't attack me for once? All this aggressive attacking really isn't my style. And if you're so fine, then why not?" "Well, he asked for it." As he fell from the height that his Shunpo left him at, Kyomei called out mentally for another Kido. "Hado #11, Tsuzuri Raiden!" Electrical current started to pass through the Horin orb that Kyomei had around his hand, and Kyomei landed directly on top of Akeru, sending a massive amount of electricity into his body. As his muscles started to tense up and his body shut down, Kyomei used his other hand to swing his Zanpakutou directly at the top of his head with the intent of cracking the skull. No one would die here. Kyomei pushed off of Akeru to land on the ground. "Good enough of an attack for you?"
OOC: A quote from the canon Kido list concerning Kyakko - "Those with high level energy sensory will be able to detect the user" I asked Zou once and he said that meant an energy sensory of 200. At 1/2 power, you would need 100 energy sensory. This is fair for a new technique, seeing as though each Kyakko has 1/4 power, which isn't much.

Akeru had stopped the axe spin and began to speak out when he saw that Kyomei wasn't even there. He wasn't there, and Akeru COULDN'T sense him. this was bad. Kyomei was doing something that was new, and Akeru didn't have anything that could really help him. Except to run, yes running was good. Running was very good, so that's what he did. He decided that ordinarly running wouldn't be enough either, so he decided to use his newest technique. He decided to use Shunpo to run, he was traveling at his fastest current speed a total 2000 in maximum momentum. 750 faster then Kyomei could even hope to wish to travel at the time.
He appeared on one of the roof tops and took a breath and began to think quickly. His only techinques were Byakurai and Phasmatis, he didn't know any techniques that could catch him. Though what happened next wasn't a technique as much as something that came naturally with strength, Akeru let go of his control of his reaistu letting it flow wild and unchecked. Everything looked as if it was shaking, and it was because of this that Kyomei was about to be stopped. Gravitational pressure was taking effect and it's main effect was suffocation. Without oxygen his brain would re categorize what his body was doing to try to get air to his lungs on principle. Everything else would be considered secondary, including his hold on his technique. Kyyako, was still incomplete and horribly applied.
He would basically land on the stone on his hands and knees, trying to breathe and stand while his weak knees failed to hold him up under the pressure. While he couldn't breathe, his technique was doomed to fail. And it was in that moment that he gained his advantage, before Kyomei could channel reiastu to try to fight it. Trying to get back to his feet, Akeru used another shunpo. With Kyomei's average human senses he wouldn't be able to realize where Akeru was coming from and landing at until it was too late. Akeru materialized into being directly behind Kyomei, his axe was around about three feet from the back of Kyomei's neck. The flames themselves were being burned off of his head. "I like the way you were able to use such a powerful spell, but with purely power i was able to bring you to your knees. I believe this round goes to me, we will go again right?"
