Takakazu sat on a stone meditating, conversing with the reishi of the elements. In his mind they were living things just as the ants of the earth, the hawks of the sky, and the fish of the lakes, rivers, and sea. The air breezed nicely around him and the grass seemed greener in the clearing. He was waiting for his sparring opponent. No one had tried to spar with him in ages but his captain and now that it was publicly know the kidou corps were being re-opened it was time to test his meddle against the other squads. He figured he start with the Fuka-Taicho of Squad Thirteen, Leo Griffin. It was said he used beasts to do battle, but Takakazu wondered, How will his beasts fair when it seems the very forces of nature have turned against him...hmm?
He had no sensory skill whats so ever so he had no way of telling when the man was going to arrive, even what kind of personality he had. It was oddly frustrating to him, but he quelled it quickly. An emotion never even crossed his face, He took a deep breath and released it, his staff laying across his folded legs. He felt deeper into nature and felt at peace. Ma'at and Isphet are constantly at war but what part do i play in the eternal struggle? Where do i fit?

Leo Griffith strolled through the dense forest. He had been invited to spar with the Lieutenant of the newly reinstated kidou corps. He was actually looking forward to sparing with Takakazu, this was mainly because his zanpaktou was rather fond of kidou and the shinigami wanted to know how to counter it, after all. He was going to have to 'earn' his bankai someday, and Leo had a feeling that it would be much more brutal than his experiences fighting for shikai. This is going to be pretty fucking hard, I wonder if he could teach me something after. He pondered, So. You have a kidou user on your hands, If he's anything like me, you're going to be destroyed. his zanpaktou, Shokan Juu boasted. Leo sighed, he had heard this before. "You say this EVERY time. I thought zanpaktou were meant to be supportive and helpful. You just constantly spout bullshit." Kid, you know nothing. I've helped you out hundreds of times, you're just too foolish to realise it.
"IS THAT SO? WELL NAME ONE TIME WHEN..."
Leo trailed off when he realised he had reached his destination. In fact, he had made quite a ruckus, so his sparring partner would probably be alerted to his presence. The vice captain composed himself, it was no time to be shouting. "So." He started, "You called for me?" The truth was that Leo was slightly scared of Takakazu. He had experienced very strong kidou first hand, and he didn't exactly fancy taking another Hado 91 to the face again.

To me…it seems as if I will speak for nature and its balance, nature must sometimes…what in the world? Takakazu opened his eyes and looked to the opposite end of the clearing, his opponent was here. He didn’t look like much. Then again neither did Takakazu, perhaps he would be like his captain. He had heard the captain of the 13th squad was the weakest of all in the Seireitei. That would be just incredibly bad and he wouldn’t stand for it. He rose to his feet and with staff in hand, walked over to greet his adversary. He by way of greeting said, “Hello we won’t spend time on pleasantries out here. Here you prove to me that you are worthy to hold your position.” After that short word there was no more time for talking.
He sprinted at the other fuka-taicho, his staff in hand. Twirling it with his left hand he braced himself and swung it like a giant bat he was going to use to knock a baseball out of the park with. He didn’t need to be within striking distance of the man’s blade to do so either. It was quite easy to use the staff’s extra length to strike with. He was curious on how well the fuka-taicho could handle Bojustu instead of Kendo. One thing that he knew was this; it might be odd to the man that Takakazu’s face was so blank. It would freak out most people that sparred with him. How could he maintain such a blank face in combat? It was simple; it was all about having a calm mind and good analytical skills.
The best part is that most would expect him to burn through his reiastu using just Kidou, and well it was true in turn he probably could have blown the man away with his abnormally high Reiastu strength, he wasn’t quite sure he deserved to have those spells used on him. His totems jangled against his neck pulsing with his power, his quiet power.

It seems that I have been noticed.
Leo drew his sword with his right hand and let it hang by his side, giving the appearance that he wasn't really bothered with what was about to happen. This was untrue, in fact the vice-captain was wary about his opponents abilities, Leo noticed that his partner was holding a wooden staff. A zanpaktou replacement? At least he isn't going to be constantly attacking me with kidou. It was at this point that Takakazu got up and stated that there was no time for pleasantries. Takakazu started sprinting, however this was what Leo was prepared for.
As his opponent started to swing his staff, the shinigami held his zanpaktou in both hands and swung with all his strength. Staff and sword clashed, to his surprise the staff didn't shatter. But that made no difference, when it comes to strength, Leo had the upper hand. With his left hand, he grabbed the staff at the end, holding it in place, he then placed it just under his armpit, and wrapped his arm around it. Takakazu would not be able to move his weapon. Whilst this was happening Leo was clutching his zanpaktou in his right hand, he let his right arm fall to his side, and released. "Lets kick some ass Shokan Juu." Wasting no time, he held his zanpaktou behind his back. "Sokudo no shôkan."
To his sparring partner it would seem that Leo had just released and used a technique. Although Takakazu knew some things about Leo's abilities, he probably only knew about one of his beasts, Tsuyo-sa. The reason behind this is that Tsuyo-sa was massive, and could easily be seen. His next beast however was more unknown, for she's small and stealthy. He was summoning Haya. She began to form in the woods near the clearing, after just one second she had fully formed and she immediately began to charge her reaitsu blast. In the meantime, Leo distracted his opponnent, "Hado 4: Byakurai A powerful bolt of lightning shot from his finger, though it probably wouldn't do too much damage, it would stun the other Fuka-Taicho for about ten seconds. By the time he recovered from his stun Haya would have been charging for about fifteen seconds. However when he recovered the spear would already be flying towards him.
Haya, release. As commanded, she let the spear fly, if it hit then it would tear straight through Takakazu's stomach, it would then disappear just before it could hit Leo. Of course, Takakazu wouldn't be able to predict what was happening, he couldn't sense energy and he didn't know about Haya. Even if he did, he would have no idea where she was or when she was going to attack, furthermore he wouldn't be able to dodge it as the spear travelled at a stat speed of 300.

Foolish…Takakazu already had the upper hand when it came to weapon length, now the fuka-taicho did something completely stupid, he used his superior strength not to defect his staff and counter attack, but to stop Takakazu’s attack and to pin his staff in one of the body’s most sensitive areas was the height of folly. In the moment before Takakazu counterattacked, Leo released his Shikai. However the manticore did not appear which begged for Takakazu to wonder what kind of beast was coming. He had a simple play though, as Leo was distracted with his release he would be completely unaware of the eerie glow emanating from Takakazu’s neck. It was a yellow glow from the totem representing wind and lightning.
Lighting arced up his staff and hit the Fuka-taicho with the same force you’d get if you took a shower and dropped a running car battery in the tub with you. Not only did he have a unbelievable high reiastu strength he had also mastered the spell he chose for this task, the spell was Tsuzuri Raiden. It did cost him a little more to use it of course, but the results were well worth it. Leo was thrown off the staff and about 10 feet away, Takakzu simply stood there listening, waiting. Something didn’t feel right when something made him look to the trees, and he had the feeling something was in them he just didn’t know what.
Then out of the tree line a spear of energy hurtled at him, it moved fast enough he’d have to shunpo to dodge or try a little more artistic approach to see the strength of the spear. He raised his hand focus on the air space lining them up so the spell and the spear would collide and spoke a single word. “Geki.” The Polished round shield appeared in front of the sphere and when it touched the Hado, It reflected away from the Fuka-Taicho up into the sky. He turned around and walked toward where the other man had landed twirling his staff around his body. As he approached he listened for another spear of energy to come from the trees, if Wwit did he’d shunpo or deflect it using Geki.
As he neared Leo he let his full spiritual pressure flow, showing how vast the pool of power he controlled really was. It was comical in a way, to think that just this was not even how strong he was sure he could go with more training. As he approached he took his stance with his staff, his wind and lightning totem was cooling down but he was far from done. The question was that whenever Leo stopped spasms would he already be done?

Takakazu seemed to think Leo was paying attention to his release, and that for some strange reason he wasn't able to clearly see his opponents totem emitting a yellow glow. He was. Huh? One of those things around his neck are glowing. I have a feeling that's a bad sign, wait is that lightning? SHIT! The shinigami was flung back, his body wildly flailing in the air. He was helpless. However he did notice that his partner seemed to have figured out Haya's position. Lucky guess. The minute that she had let the spear fly Haya went into action. She silently appeared beside Leo, using a technique like shunpo. She was so silent that Takakazu, who was looking the other way, would not notice her, she then proceeded to launch another reaitsu spear, once again. Takakazu, who was busy parrying the first wouldn't notice anything. When it hit the attack tore through his lower spine, rendering him unable to fight, and walk.
She then proceded to grab Leo by the top half of his robes, the shinigami was light so she was still able to move, and run into the forest. If Takakazu had noticed the spear, which he almost definitely wouldn't then he would either have to parry or dodge it. This would take up a few seconds, which was all she needed to get into the dense woodland, when there the black jaguar could not be seen. She set Leo down next to a tree, his spasms would subside shortly.

Takakazu had reflected the first sphere into the sky when he turned to face leo and was almost impaled by a second one, his instincts kick in. Using a shunpo, he springboarded back onto his back at a speed of 1750 much faster the the sphere and skidded a few yards and rolled on to his feet roughly 3 feet to the left of his starting position. Had he not mastered shunpo, that would have been bad. He caught glimpse not of the creature but of the general direction it leap off to almost like it could use a stepping technique. The problem they had now was he knew the general direction they were in, and he had the perfect solution.
"Monshou Heb!" He twirled his staff and slammed it into the dirt below and from that point a title wave of water surged flooding the forest in the direction they had disappeared into. He figured that the creature whatever it was, was built for speed not strength and wouldn't be able to take Leo far with the added weight it wasn't used to. He felt all the cubic meters of water channeled from the Kidou. It was glorious, just wonderful. And the best part was that he didn't even use a totem to enhance the spell. He wondered when the wall of water was going to hit them, as it was crushing the trees from it's immense force.
He broke the staff connection to the spell and simply leaned on it and waited, this was pathetic. The Kidou corps were back to show power again against those blasted Arrancar, and here this Fuka-Taicho was running away with his tail beneath his legs. It was stupid and foolish. The Taicho and Fuka-Taicho should be much stronger. And if they aren't they should compensate for it somehow. Takakazu lacked a Shikai and a Bankai, but you'd be damn sure he was not weaker because of it.

(OOC: Jeez, sorry for the delay, was going to post yesterday but it was a combination of laziness, bad timing and comp crashing in the middle of posting that slowed me down. -_-)
Thankfully Leo had stopped his spasms by the time that takakazu started his kidou, and he was able to react accordingly, both him and Haya used a shunpo, Leo moving to the right of the wave, Haya to it's left, they then proceeded to use another in the same direction as earlier. This would safely land Leo away from the wave. The shinigami smiled, he had found out the source of his opponent's power, He seems to be using totems, but what for? I doubt that it gives him more kidou, a vice captain of the kidou corps wouldn't need more kidou. I suppose they could be used to amplify, after all, that spell he dropped on fucking hurt. there was another thing he had noticed, when using the spell takakazu's reaitsu turned from a neutral white to a bright blue. Looks like i'm going to need to look out for a change in reaitsu colour.
However although he knew about the vice-captain's powers Leo was still at a disadvantage, he couldn't cut Takakazu. Thankfully his beasts could, so it didn't put Leo at as much of a disadvantage as he would have been. The shinigami was interrupted by his companion, Haya Leo, the vice captain is just standing there, leaning on his staff. He seems to think he's beaten us. Is that so? I'm assuming you know the score the reply was a brisk one yes yes, i can cut him, you can't. Now, shall we? Leo nodded, and walked to the edge of the treeline, meanwhile, Haya had already positoned herself in the trees behind the kidou-user and she started to charge a burst. Leo used a shunpo to reach Takakazu, where he used his superior strength and speed to sweep the bottom of his staff, it would fall down to the floor next to the two shinigami's feet.
But that wasn't all, Haya released her reaitsu spear, and it came hurtling towards taka, from right behind him. Takakazu would have no idea that it was flying towards him. In the second after she'd launched the spear, Haya used shunpo to reach his right side. If the vice captain did nothing, then Leo would jump to the right just before the spear came crashing through his opponent's spine. The said opponent would then fall to the ground, where Haya would jump on him, keeping him down. Not that he would be able to move anyway

Takakazu waited and it wasn't long before the kid decided to come back for round 2, he seemed dry when he appeared using a shunpo. He was faster then Takakazu anticipated but it was of no consequence. As Leo slid his foot in a sweeping motion Takakazu jumped into the air holding his staff. the sweep failed as takakazu landed 3 feet to the left of his original position and threw his staff hard into the ground and landed on it with his foot. His water totem flared and his rieastu turned blue once again. from the butt of his staff, all of the collective water still coating the ground and soaking the other vice-captain's feet flash froze.
He wouldn't have been able to move for the spear of reiastu that hurtled out of the trees from his own beast and struck him in the chest. The force of the blast would have been more then efficient to free him from the ice, but at what kind of damage cost. Then he heard the feral growl. A panther like creature was growling at him from below, He looked at it with emotionless eyes. This creature was the second animal he could summon, but it too was no match for his strength.
Without missing a beat he extended a plam at the creature and spoke a single word. "Tenran..." Although normally, tenran was released as a pure air based attack, his reiastu flashed orange; a combination of the elements he was weaving together here. His tenran was of his own volition of spellwork, but he injected his spell with fire-infused reiastu from his fire totem. The tornado that shot from his palm was constructed of flames spinning in the high velocity of a tornado pattern. It engulfed the panther, cooking it into ash.
As his attack ended he took a step and landed behind his staff clear of any ice, and with a mighty wrench; freed his staff. He sighed, his gaze turning on the vice captain. Wondering what he would find, would he be on his feet? Or would his own attack be enough to keep him down?
