The Test of Kidou Commander: Hinsshi Niaga

[Niaga Hinsshi]

Hinsshi walked forward slowly along the paths of the designated Testing Facility, he has left the spot of the Taicho of Third squad to come and save this fallen squad from itself. he sighed as he scratched at the scars on his face, his letter to the Soutaicho for the requested testing at the recommendation of several Central 46 Members had allowed this test to be accepted. He walked forward the massive seven foot four man towering over the guards as he walked past them, knocking slowly on the large Wooden door he yawned and slid his hands into his pockets. When the voice called out, "Name and Rank?!" he slowly arched a brow, "Niaga Hinsshi ... X-Fukutaicho of Second Squad, X-Taicho of Third Squad, Here to take the Test for Kidou Corps Commander, Open the damn door already ..." He sighed some, as there was a stumbling inside and the door slid open revealing a white-faced Shinigami who bowed repeatedly, "Gomenasai Sir! We weren't expecting you so early!" He just rolled his eyes and sighed, patting the man on the head like a child as he slid in the floor creaking under his weight. "Where's the other old people?" Hinsshi said glancing down to the man, who blinked and frowned, "If you mean the other Taicho, their in the room just infront of you." He pointed and Hinsshi nodded before heading forward, pushing the door open he plopped down onto the pillows that were his seat and resting his large chin in his hand.

Hinsshi was a giant among men, being seven foot four in height and built like a tank, his nose was slightly bend as if it had been constantly beaten and broken, and his warm brown eyes watched the Soutaicho and the other two Taicho there calmly. He scratched his beard slowly a moment thinking before he shifted into a more polite and comfortable sitting, eying the three a moment as his dark skin now shone in the light, coated in crisscrossing ugly scar's from past battles of survival in third squad, as well as failed assassinations cars from his second squad life. The most prominent being the 'T' shape scar that crosses over his face and nose over his left eye and nose. Crossing into his hair and beard where no hair grows any longer from how badly he was damaged, his hair cropped down into a military crew-cut, his hair on top of his hair being slightly longer and full of curls and waves despite only being around an inch and a half long. The other nasty scar, being one that crosses along his throat entirely, as if a profession assassination nearly took not just his life but his head as well, possibly explaining the deep gravely voice of an old man. The smell of flowers gently began to fill the room, before he intertwined his fingers, no form of Zanpaktou rested on his body at all as his eyes met their own. "You accepted my Testing I suppose ...? Well, where do we start?" He said with a slight grin and bowed his head respectfully.

An empowering presence was what filled the room already from all of the Captains, but even more so from the big man standing with his back hunched over his gnarled cane. He might have looked fragile if his eyes hadn't beheld a fierce look, and if his muscles weren't enormous. His cane itself was large, and it was evident that so was the old man himself. If he stood up to his full height, he would probably be over seven feet. He wasn't anything short of the most impressive one in the room, speaking to Niaga then, to give him the run-down of what this test would be. The Strong Man, in other words the 35th Captain Commander of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, began to speak with a loud, roaring slur, like prolonged thunder.

"Do not take this test so casually, Niaga Hinsshi. It is a vastly different test from those of other Captains. Each Squad, as you might know, has a different test. The Kido Corps is the most unique test of the bunch. Without a Zanpakuto, you will be forced to your very limits in this test. We begin immediately, so prepare yourself. There is no turning back from this. Once we have begun, there is only damnation if you fail."

The end of his speech marked the beginning of the test, and Niaga Hinsshi would notice the start of the test immediately. The floor beneath him caved in, and he was sent plummeting as it closed back up. Darkness enclosed him as he landed, on his feet or not, in some place of pitch black. The floor was wet, and cold, and made of stone. There were no sounds but the sound of his own breathing and his own heart. He could even hear himself thinking, because of how quiet it was. This was the first stage of the test. In previous Captain tests, there were supposed to be three. If this one was no different, then it was a pretty unique first stage. Most of them were quite basic. For that moment, Niaga was in the darkness. Was there anything to it but that? He wasn't given any directions.

Should he explore? Should he use his Kido for something? This first one seemed to be a sort of puzzle at least. He should solve it.

Hinsshi sat down and listened the the Soutaicho's long rant, and he just gave a slow soft smile. He knew all of this, but there was no reason to get himself worked up about it, after all such things would only ruin his mind, He had learned long go that a calm mind and a calmer spirit was the key to 90% of victories, he simply said, "Yes Sir." And then darkness fell, he glanced down as he rushed downward and ironically, simply reached out and without saying a word grasped a orb of Reitsu that formed, a Seki spell that formed without him saying a single word, it easily floated with him lowering him down gently before he landed and the spell slowly morphed and changed. Calmly he altered the Kidou's very existence before it molded and began a massive pulsating rob of pure reitsu and light, he then flicked it into the air so it hovered silently behind his head as his eyes slowly slid from left to right curiously. The place seemed odd to say the least, for a first time area the place was dark as hell and he hadn't been given any instructions, but that was fine, Hinsshi was used to overcoming new and unexpected obstacles after all, it came with lacking a Zanapktou when surrounded by hundreds of your peers of Shinigami and each one having one of their own.

As his eyes slid along through the darkness his mind wandered to his assigned task, scratching at his scar lightly as his thoughts rolled through his head, before he chuckled and shook his head and began to examine teh area around him, softly murmuring, "Now then ... what sort of place has the only guy older than me stuck me in I wonder." he murmured his hands traveling into his pockets, he imitatively began to scan over eh entire area, eyes flicking left and right, using the light of the Orb to discover his surroundings before even moving a single step the giant man waited patiently, there was no need to Rush this, and traps could be anywhere, patience was another key aspect to any battle and he used his analysis of the entire area he could see, even reaching out to detect reitsu signatures while he waited patiently. Searching for any Clues as to where he was, and what was to be the goal of this first step, and though eh looked carefree and unready to fight, his reitsu had risen and was obviously ready to not only react to an attack, but blow it away as well.

Before Niaga Hinsshi, there wasn't an enemy or a visible trap. Instead, if he looked around there was a wet cavern. It was a large cavern, black because of the lack of light, with huge stone walls, and water leaking down them. It was in faint trickles, without so much dramatization as could be assumed. Water was water. There was nothing strange about it. There were slash marks on the walls too, like someone had trained here. Their attacks could be tracked all across the walls. One part of the wall even had a big X slash on it, like there had been more than training, but a battle here too. The walls were a bit enclosed, and it was only spacious in that circular shaped room. Ahead, there were two walls closed in one each other to form a small pathway. It was just a small crevice, a tunnel that could barely fit a person through it. That was what looked like Niaga Hinsshi's starting pathway.

That narrow tunnel was just a sliver that he might have to go through. It could be worse, for sure, but that was going to be hard to fight inside of if he encountered an enemy. So far, this was just a puzzle world. There might be enemies later, but until further notice it looked just like a puzzle level in a video game. It had to be navigated, and puzzles would probably have to be solved later on to get to the next room. It was true that being Captain in the Kido Corps was hard. Being a Captain level without having a Zanpakuto was hard, so intelligence and strategic value needed to be high. This first test seemed to be all about testing those things. Battle ability was of a sub-importance that would come later. Enemies here would just be a waste of enemies that could be pit against him later on in the testing.

Hinsshi blinked a moment calmly, before giving a soft chuckle as he noted there was no opponents around, he let the orb of light slowly float beside his massive frame's shoulder as he moved along the cavern curiously. Occasionally his eyes would flick to a flash of light from the reflection along the water, however for the most part his eyes rested on the surrounding area, examining openings through the area. He slowly walked forward, until he reached out and placed a large hand on one of the massive gashes and smirked. "A training area huh ... interesting to say the least." He murmured as it echoe'd slowly through the cavern before his gave went to the nearby massive X-Shaped gauge in the stone instead. "Mmn ... and a battle area ss well, predictable." Hinsshi finally moved forward before he flicked the wall listening intently to the echo's before the crack and small crevice was located by his hand. He chuckled a bit before he walked forward slowly, pushing aside a few loose stones he eyed the small area, he could easily clear it and open it wider of course, but that could end relatively badly in his own case. He sighed, seemed he had to squeeze through, his massive frame began to slowly slide along through the walls, keeping his hands outward as he watched his steps carefully as he walked along.

It was indeed true that without a Zanapktou a Kidou Corps Commander had to have good Intellect, wisdom, and common sense. But Hinsshi was hardly the average Kidou Corps Commander, having been trained in Hakuda, combat that allowed you to fight a swordsman on even terms, without the use of a blade yourself. As well, in the same way his own unique kidou abilities made up for it, but strategy and skill with puzzles was important for anyone, so he went with it, as he squeezed out along the pathway, he landed lightly on his feet and his eyes slowly traveled through the directions around him, scratching at his cheek as he focused carefully, he snapped and the orb of his rietsu above his suddenly doubled in size, causing light to burst forward and fill the entire area with the equal of a huge window in a wall shining sunlight through brightly with a pink tint. "Hmm ... now where have I been led too I wonder." He murmured, hands sliding into his pocket as he glanced around in search of locating exactly where he was now.

The crevice ending brought him into a fall, where he landed on a large platform of stone. In front of him, there was light, and everything was clearly visible. Niaga Hinsshi had been led into an area with lots of footholds. Waterfalls were sliding down large stone walls on both sides symmetrically, and in front of him were many circular rocks held up by columns of stone. They resembled Lilly pads. They could probably be jumped on even by someone as big as Niaga Hinsshi was. At the very far end of the cave was a set of three stone doors, each with plainly visible numbers on them. The left door had the number "37" and the middle door had the number "42" while the right door had the number "9." The rock platforms created three straight pathways to that other side, and lined up evenly. Each pathway had 9 steps to get there. Each platform was numbered. Niaga Hinsshi was going to have to find his way to the next challenge.
