Half-cocked, Stoppin', and Shoppin'

Snorted just a little and smiled, taking a sip of his own drink again as she faced him and let off that playful little comment. Not to mention a nice counter to his own compliments with one of her own. He was a little proud that even in this ..... body, his handsomeness shone through, as much as he was also glad that the prettiness of the frame also maintained itself. Though more than that, he did pause for a moment when Miranda went along and called him a wanderer. He supposed that was what he was now, at least from the human perspective.

"You could say that. Yea. Though I don't know about everyone. It takes a special kinda person in a special kinda place to wind up roaming around. You'd be surprised how many people don't wanna do that at all. They just feel nice and safe in their cosey little space. But hey, here's to enjoying a change of scenery." He chimed with a little wink toward the woman and a slow, steady gulp of his drink. As if in that moment he were pushing down some thought or feeling that had been bubbling up. That's what alcohol was good for right?

Because who else was gonna do it? And that only made the smile he gave Miranda warmer. The loveliest distraction from those thoughts in his current vicinity. "So, Miranda, the Wanderer. What kinda place did you blow in from?" She had mentioned that she wasn't from around here, but she also was pretty fluent in japanese. did she live somewhere else in japan? Maybe someplace a bit more..touristy? She didn't look like a local, but she sounded like one. Maybe a couple generations in?

 Miranda's brow raised at the question, as she could have sworn they had talked about this at some point earlier. She had stated she was from Russia, which was entirely true. Maybe Colt asked as she found her japanese surprisingly good for being from a place like that. The captain could understand this. The only issue she could see someone picking out of her speech was her informality. For example, Miranda almost never used honorifics. It was a nasty little habit that her old captain detested, but one that Miranda would never shake

 "I did say I was from Russia, yes?", she'd ask, sliding her glass foreword as she finished the cheap drink. "Is it my japanese? I had left my home in eastern Russia when I was a child and settled in a small, cozy village not to far from here. Been speaking this language longer than Russian at this point." The pale haired woman leaned back in her seat, letting the feeling of nostalgia relax her. "If you were to try and get me to speak Russian, I doubt I could hold a conversation after all these years."

 The barkeep would circle around during his rounds to fill up her glass. She'd give her thanks to the older gentleman and take the cool glass into her palm. Miranda wasn't quite versed in the realm of verbal gymnastics. Thankfully what she spoke wasn't that far from the truth, given her situation. The outer district she grew up in weren't too different from a rural village here, or she would like to imagine. Admittedly she was a bit out of touch with the living world, given she had been dead far longer than she had been alive.
