Fighting Style:Thanatos is a thinker.
Even in school, he preferred to stay away from conflicts (he likely was the one organizing things.) Captain of the Debate Club, Chess Club, and Mathletes might not seem like the makings of someone who could instill fear in the heart of a street thug with a simple look, but that’s because Thanatos is very good at masking who truly is.MAIN FULLBRINGABSOLUTE DOMINIONMain Fullbring AppearancesThere are many things Thanatos is proud of; he is, after all, a proud man and one who revels in the achievements he has built and taken part of. But it is not possible for your career, your little sister, or your flawless victory in Mortal Kombat at the local mall to be a Fullbring. Or even if it were, it would be quite impractical. It is often ill-advised to bring your little sister into the middle of a warzone.
Perhaps, then, it's a bit of a flaw in his character that the thing he takes the most pride in is the reminder of the single-greatest mistake he ever made; a simple golden band, worn on his pinkie finger. In fact, he never takes it off, only to shower; he even wears it while he’s sleeping! To the casual observer, one would think it was a marriage band of some kind, a simple band of wrought gold. Pure, obviously, identified by the lack of tarnishing despite his constant fidgeting, and constantly polished to a near shine. It is, for lack of a better word, plain.
But remove it from his finger and one would see the care and intricacy of it. Vines, imperceptible without close examination or knowledge of their existence, wrap around every centimeter of the golden band, etched so finely and so thinly they could only be made by a master craftsman. They connect across the entire ring, eternal lines depicting flowering vines without a single flaw or obvious seam, an absolute masterpiece of art. On the inside, there is written in flowering script “My Rose”.
Absolute Dominion is an entirely other beast.
His Fullbring is activated with a simple, harmless gesture; a removal of his ring. Upon activation, the ring expands rapidly, passing through all solid and immaterial objects and forming a cube, invisible with all but the highest level of Energy Sensory. This cube is exactly approximately 15 feet cubed, enough to encompass a large table or a few offices, though he can manipulate the size at will, so long as it doesn’t go over the 15 feet cubed. For example, Absolute Dominion can take the form of a rectangle that is longer but shorter, or one that is taller, but thinner, though he must choose the orientation when he first activates his Fullbring.
Though his Fullbring itself has no obvious physical components, Thane can manifest screens, created from his reishi, for a variety of activities, such as highlighting pictures, playing videos, or magnifying evidence. These images and pictures are mostly conjured from his memory, but a unique quirk of his Fullbring allows them to be projected from any device in which he has access within range. This mostly means his cell phone or laptop, but on occasion can be used to access his compatriots devices.
Not much physically changes during his Level Two, though the range vastly increases, covering approximately 1,400 feet cubed, the size of a roomy two bedroom apartment, or a large non-jury courtroom. Like the previous level, he can change the orientation as he sees fit, so long as it remains one consistent shape with no breaks; he can’t create gaps within Absolute Dominion to exclude certain people.Main Fullbring Level 1 PropertyLaws of the Domain”Within my house, you will obey my rules.”And this quote is the thesis of his Fullbring.. Within the boundaries of Absolute Dominion, the rules must be followed. This is without exception. Failure to do so results in Punishment, with varying degrees. All individuals, even those on the side of Thanatos - even Thane himself! - are subject to the rules imposed by Absolute Dominion, with no exceptions save for what is allowed within the bounds of the Fullbring. There are few exceptions to those who are not bound by Laws of the Domain; in addition to the normal rules that apply, such as OS superiority, there are a few more restrictions; generally, it's those he doesn’t feel he has dominion over.
These individuals are few and far between, but are always human, and usually higher-ranking individuals within the same or aligned organizations.
Those who are affected, however, and there are many, are immediately bound by Law. This is defined quite clearly by Thanatos himself; one who is underneath the domain of my Absolute Authority must follow every law and rule in place for the location they are in, be it country, home, or business. That means any individual within the bounds of Absolute Dominion are bound by the laws of the country they are in, the domicile in which they are standing, and the organization in which they belong. There are no exceptions.
Failure to do so results in Punishment.
When Absolute Dominion is Released, Thanatos may choose two “Arbitrary Rules”. These custom rules are not set in stone and are instead chosen as he releases. Once chosen, they cannot be changed, and all those within his Absolute Dominion are subject to these new rules. These rules can be as complex or as simple as Thanatos wants, though cannot be something that would make it impossible not to break, such as a rule against moving, or breathing. He can, however, establish rules about going into certain rooms, or against wearing a certain color. These rules are considered major by default.
The most common rules he implements are “you may not stand until the meeting is over” and “you will not speak out of turn.”
In addition to these Arbitrary Rules, new rules can be implemented by individuals other than Thanatos if one of two criteria are met; either the person declaring the new rule is someone of “absolute authority”, such as president, CEO of the company, or the Head Captain, or all individuals within the domain of Absolute Authority must agree on the new rule. Thanatos himself does not count as an absolute authority, no matter what Rank he is.
Similar to the Arbitrary Rules, the Punishments are unique every time, though they follow a set standard of rules and will always fit the crime, so to speak.. Someone who broke the “no talking” rule won’t receive Corporal Punishment, those that break, say, the law against assault may be subject to it. While the punishments vary, they all fall within a set of general Severity, which are applied immediately afterwards to the criminal who broke the rule or law.
- Words of Warning:
The lightest punishment reserved for those rulebreakers who, though the lowliest of the low, nonetheless violated no major law and committed no crime that would land them any major punishment. Usually, these are written admonishments, appearing as tattoos on the skin or hovering in front of their face and blocking off their vision. Though they suffer no major or minor issues, there are potential consequences for being warned. If a person breaks the rules while within the boundary of Absolute Dominion again, and their Word of Warning is in effect, they are immediately afflicted with an additional Punishment of equal Severity. Any individual may only be warned once.
- Loss of Privilege:
When people break rules, they must be punished, and the lightest punishment possible that still possesses consequences is the loss of a privilege. This can vary depending on the rule broken. If someone broke a “no touching” rule, they may lose the privilege of their hands, or a rule against phones means they will not be able to access their devices, effectively turning it into a fancy brick during the duration of the release. This is the minimum stage of punishment for those who flaunt rules that are clearly and decisively written.
Mechanically, stats can’t be directly affected. This level of Punishment manifests as physical or pseudo-physical creations or manifestations; running in a no-running sign will have chains wrap around them, for example, to slow them down, but won’t directly affect a stat. This can be specific or general; using the aforementioned “no touching” rule, someone may just have their hand pinned down rather than their entire body.
These manifestations are created directly on the individual and form at a speed equal to twice his OS, requiring the same to overpower or destroy.
- Detainment:
Those who insist on violating major laws and rules, such as the ones against no violence or talking in theaters, may be detained, losing the ability to control parts of themselves. This, like all punishments, varies depending on the crime itself. Mechanically, this manifests mostly as various stat debuffs, such as reducing Strength for violent acts or Senses for viewing classified materials. There is a physical component to this, such as manacles around the ankles to represent a reduction in speed.
All punishments of this level reduce the affected stat by ten percent and can stack twice if multiple punishments are rendered. There is no limit to the number of punishments that can be active on a single criminal at once, so long as it doesn’t go over the stat cap; if someone violates the rules that many times and doesn't have the power to back it up, they deserve what is coming to them.
- Corporal Punishment:
Reserved for only the most heinous of crimes, this level of Punishment delivers near-instant pain and damage to an area, differing depending on the law or rule broken; when no specific body part would be involved in the crime, the punishment is aimed at center mass. The punishment delivered by this final level of severity takes the form of a sharp and quick slash, like that of a whip or a switch. It forms from a place six inches from the targeted limb or criminal and moves with an Offensive Strength equal to double Thane’s, delivering an equivalent amount of damage. If there is no specific limb or area involved with the crime, it targets center mass.Invoking any punishment costs 50 Reiatsu per level. Thane can choose not to inflict a punishment; however, doing so inflicts the punishment on himself instead. When someone within range of Absolute Dominion breaks a rule or law, punishment must be delivered. If Thanatos does not want to deliver the punishment to the individual, or does not have the Reaitsu to use, he takes the punishment in their stead. If Thane takes the punishment, no Reaitsu is required.
By paying an extra 50 reaitsu, Thane can choose to increase the level of punishment. This Reaitsu must be paid for every level.Main Fullbring Level 2 PropertiesStrength from the Failures of LiarstextBoundaries and ContractsCan enforce rules within the boundaries of Absolute Dominion, empowering his allies who follow these rulesUnwritten RulesMay decide one thing the victim does violates the rules, is written into the rules for the duration of the release
