Alacrán had returned to Hueco Mundo, wandering the bleached and dead Menos Forest, gliding past the many enormous, leafless trees and the occasional Gillian here and there. He wasn't sure what he was looking for. Any Hollows found here were likely too dumb and confrontational for the purpose of recruiting them and too weak to contain any spiritual energy that he could gain from consuming them. Of course perhaps this was a trip of retrospection, as who only knows he needs to reevaluate his priorities if he's ever going to want to do anything about Kouhai and Las Noches.

He was no fool to think he could take all of them on on his own but then again, he only had the barest smidgen of an idea of how he compared to their strongest in terms of power. Eventually he was going to have to challenge one of them to find out and that was a prospect that seemed rather unappealing to him in terms of what the potential consequences would be if he lost. Arrancar may look like the Shinigami, but they're still Hollows by nature and just as ruthless, if not more so, than their unevolved brethren.

He lands in the center of a basin-like formation, a rather rare occurrence considering there are no natural rivers or water sources of any type that could create such a feature. It was mostly like created in some kind of fight between Hollows or the movement of a large Hollow underneath the surface. Regardless of how it came to be, it didn't matter to Alacrán, as he just need a place of peace for a moment. Unfortunately, a moment would be all that he would have before his solitude would be intruded upon.

There it was before her, a few thousand feet beneath her was a basin. A special basin by Hueco Mundo standards. It held something that was such a rarity that human deserts would be jealous of. Liquid. Maybe water. Maybe liquid reiatsu. Maybe stomach acid. It didn't matter; however, it was a liquid. And a liquid meant that there could be plants present that Astrid had yet to find. Plants that were infinitely better suited to domain within the Las Noches if only, so it felt less like Las Noches and more like the Forest of Suicide. She's spied it once or twice upon her frequent outings to the sands but had yet to take the time to actually focus on it. Namely due to the fact she had been first and foremost searching for pack members before she'd been searching to collect more fauna. Both were important, but while her domain was filling with fauna, living beings were sparse. Occasionally one or two came from Hell. An occasional would be "servant" or some other waste of space like those "spies" tried to enter her domain.

They never survived long. Always dying to one of her lesser plants. The more deadly usually didn't bother with such lowly meals. Especially not Bubbles. Poor Bubbles hadn't had a real meal in ages. Not since that shambling tree decided that Bubbles needed to be uprooted. It'd found out that the only uprooting to be done was its life. But Bubbles was growing thin again and that meant that Astrid had to go find more creatures to wrangle into her domain or some other kind of fodder. Let alone try to scour the worlds for those who would be worth members of her pack. Currently she'd found none. But she was hopeful that she might yet find the few named hollows she'd met some time in the past. Namely Sonadora. Astrid was certain if she could find Sonadora that she'd love the forest. It was no city filled with humanoid snacks but surely she'd enjoy the violent and vibrant tendencies of her garden. Let alone the various fruit or otherwise edible growths on them. Alas she'd found none of them. Akando, Sonadora, the bug hollow. None at all. Surely they didn't die.

Sonadora was too clever. Akando too hungry. . . The bug on the other hand? She was uncertain. She had a distaste for bugs to begin with but something told her that the one she'd met in the Philippines was hardier than most. Perhaps it could have survived if it truly felt so inclined. Still there was a desire to find it, if only to sate her curiousity. But that was unlikely, she had three worlds that fucker could be in. And if it found itself in the fourth, it was beyond fucked. So she had all but given up on the notion of ever finding out. But none of that mattered at the moment, not when a liquid resevoir was before her. Astrid smiled maliciously, damn near radiating bloodlust in her excitement. She really hoped she found something akin to animate seaweed. She'd had ideas to make a river of blood or some other truly nauseous liquid and plant them there. She was certain they'd thrive almost immediately. She'd have to make her way down to the basin however, if she were to ever find out thus Astrid did the only "sensible" thing in her case.

She tilted the shard of obsidian she was currently riding upon to the ground. Nose first. It immediately began to fall and as the wind rushed by her face it only made her blood flow faster in her veins. God it was incredible the feeling of flying through the air. She really needed to do this more often given it was so easy! And so much more fun than simply walking or running around. As she continued down she only grew faster and faster and to anyone present she'd quickly become a noticeable dot that was steadily growing larger by the minute. Until about 600 feet away she finally brought the shard up and back to being horizontal to slow her fall just a bit. By 300 feet she grabbed the bottom of the shard and propeled herself off of it by jumping. To anyone looking it'd seem crazy as the shard should have shattered and yet, her arm bent and contorted in such a way as to allow only one foot to be steady on the shard and the other in the air. From there she simply held onto the shard to bring it with her as she propeled forward a bit more and ultimately fell feet first into the sands below.

She would end up eerily close to what she'd seen while still in the sky. A spec then but something that looked chitanous the closer she got. She wasn't certain if it was the bug she'd been curious about BUT it was a bug. One that she could rip apart and consume if she was given the opportunity. Her escapades did demand a snack from time to time. Especially when she was fighting the vegetation to bring it back to her realm. Upon impact with the sand she blew up a sizeable cloud of sand that went up to 30 feet in all directions, slowly settling or being blown away by a gentle breeze that was present. From outside the cloud it'd be hard to see Astrid but the sound of snapping, cracking, or popping body parts was quickly made apparent. Astrid was making sure she was as limber as she needed to be given this hollow would almost certainly fight back when she went after the kill. But she had to give it a chance first. If only to try and fulfill the first test of being pack worthy. Could it show signs of intelligence or otherwise speak? Thus she let the sands settle revealing herself with a wide smile, filled with nothing but gunmetal canines. Bloodlust radiating off of her in nothing short of tsunami waves. She spoke loudly, bluntly, and with as much gruff and roughness to it as someone who had barely used their voice. "Can you speak?"

[Alacrán]

Alacrán felt the bloodthirsty malice before he even noticed her approaching although she would damn well right next to him before he'd have a chance to figure out what was produce such bloodlust. As soon as she'd arrive, his entire stance would become defensive and closed off as his tail uncurled and his mandibles pinched together every few seconds as he tried to figure out who and what this person was. A quick examination of her appearance and noticing the string of what appeared to be humanoid jaws hanging from her neck as that she was either some shinigami or human that wasn't right in the head or, worse, an Arrancar. He'd likely guess that latter option which meant that he wasn't quite happy.

Seeing one of them so far out here was a bit of a surprise to him. The fact that she didn't seem to be wearing your typical Espada or Las Noches attire as well as not being able to immediately spot a number denoting her rank, perhaps she had escaped the clutches of Kouhai or had never been with him to begin with. That seemed rather far fetched to him however and whether it was true or not, he had a feeling with the amount of bloodlust and malice that was radiating off of her that she wasn't really out here to make friends or anything like that.

Still, he wouldn't be rude as she'd asked him a question, her voice seeming much more rough than his own, even with his rather atrocious accent. He still took a step back from her as he nodded and answered her question, his own voice sounded rather raspy and itchy, almost irritating on one's ears and barely even bearable, "Yes, aye can speak. Da hell's it ta ya?" He watched her reaction, trying to read her intentions. As far as he knew, Arrancar didn't really need to eat like Hollows did but that didn't mean she wouldn't try and cut him down right there. So he'd stay on his guard as he observed her.

Astrid's smile grew wider, physically unnaturally so as her jaw started to stretch further. Their answer pleased her because this meant that there was a very real chance that they could be that bug hollow from before. It actually excited her in a way because that meant there was a very real chance that she could find Sonadora and Akando if she'd found the bug. Oh, she was immensely excited for once, but she couldn't be certain just yet, so she'd need to talk to him further. Annoying but she'd speak this time if only because this was actually important. She needed a moment to decipher exactly what he said. Whether it was due to an accent or the fact it was a bug speaking to her, something about the way Alacran spoke made Astrid have to go over his question a couple times before it stuck out as understandable words. Once she understood it, she'd respond to it, placing her hands into her leather jacket's pockets.

"Good, I was hoping you could speak. Not many hollows, let alone bugs can do that. How you talk is familiar however. . . Do you know Akando? Or have you been in a human city that got overrun by hollows?" Astrid had stopped smiling and was looking for him over, clearly trying to remember just how the bug she'd seen in the Philippines looked. It was hard however given she'd had only just started to gain a degree of consciousness then. Making speech and many other "normal" things hard to do. Remembering things was one of those difficult things to do. Especially when most of her existence as a Hason was eating others because she felt an unholy hunger that couldn't be satiated for long. Truth be told she almost wanted to fight him on the spot to see if that would jog something in her mind. But the fact was they'd been attacked by something. . . An older woman in her case and some shinigami if she remembers correctly. The bug had disappeared after their arrival, leaving Astrid essentially to her own devices.

She mentally sighed as she started to frown. This was entirely too much thinking on her part. Not to mention this was a lot of effort for very little to gain. Assuming that this wasn't the same bug. If it was, then she could recruit him to her pack. Assuming he was strong enough to merit doing such. If not, then it wouldn't matter at all. She might let him live for Akando's sake. She wasn't exactly keen on pissing off the other given they were packmates. She'd take an arm then. Maybe a leg too if the arm didn't satisfy her. Something to chew on quite literally as she'd return to her search for fauna or noteworthy hollows. Though speaking of that she was curious about this basin. She'd gotten so excited with the speaking bug that she'd completely forgotten about it. She did take a moment to glance at the basin and found that there was in fact seaweed. She had to have it. This whole affair with this bug needed to end sooner than later so she could rip them out the sand, bring them to her domain, and start replanting them in a river of her own making. She'd need to find out if they could handle the boiling blood of wrath though. Meaning she'd have to get likely all the seaweed from here.

Not exactly a daunting task but definitely something important. Which also made her wonder if she'd need the liquid too? Maybe it was special. She was very clearly lost in her thoughts about the basin's seaweed and water as she'd turned her back completely to Alacran and was looking over the basin. She did keep an ear out for him however, sand wasn't exactly good about hiding movements given it always moved when something else moved. It didn't help that she could hear Alacran breathing as well. Let alone his mandibles clicking together. He was inherently making noise, so she wasn't in that much danger of him surprising her. Or at least that's how she felt whether he was a threat or not was to be determined. But given he hadn't immediately attacked; they probably weren't that dangerous. At best capable of tearing off a limb or two from Astrid. Nothing she couldn't handle.
