I. Basic Information
» Name: Miyamoto Musashi
» Alias: Kensei Shinmen
» Age of Appearance: 25
» Age: 385
» Gender: Male
» Association: N/A
» Appearance Written: Kensei is a handsome, fit, and slightly above average height individual standing at 5'11. He has extremely wild and unkempt long hair--that when tied into a bun--people often remark as looking like an explosion from the back. If untied, the hair can easily reach his mid-back. He is a man of Japanese descent, and as such is fairly tan.
At any given time he is likely to have a stubble that resembles someone who hasn't shaved in a week, and less often (but still frequently) a thick full beard if he has remained ungroomed. His build is a mix of slender but muscular his meaty hands being the result of years of martial art practice and farming. His body is littered with scars from experimentation, marking him from head to toe.
Kensei is well known for preferring flat colors and is either seen wearing solid black or white attire depending on the occasion, rarely preferring to mix them up. At any given point in time, Musashi appears unkempt and 'dirty'.

Kensei is a simple man.
A nomad and a warrior at heart, there is nothing purer to him then combat; yet there is nothing he hates more than killing. Not because he doesn't like it, quite the opposite. Kensei enjoys it far too much to believe it to be good for him. The hot-headed young man was once driven by his desire to become the strongest, yet is constantly conflicted by his abstruse temperament toward violence despite his natural wish to circumvent it.
Because of his disposition toward hatred of his own nature, he often overestimates the consequences and casualties of them. This results in giving him an obsession with the idea that death follows him wherever he goes. This is the reason that he finds comfort and freedom in wandering from place to place. He is a vagabond to its truest nature.
Kensei hates to bathe. He'd often go out on bare feet and merely wipe them, even if they were soiled. Moreover, since his likes his clothes constantly dirty, he would merely prefer changing clothes rather than washing them. This has always signified his unintentional disposition to be carefree towards anything that didn't involve a fight, something he always loved even if he never felt like truly admitting it.
This was mostly due to the fact he was embarrassed to be so in love with something that typically always resulted in unnecessary conflict. The only thing Kensei loved more than fighting was learning things that improved his ability to fight. This included but was not limited to the strategies surrounding a fight, and the psychoanalytic/social psychology of why individuals and groups loved to fight as they do. He
Kensei exudes a peaceful nature almost to the point of vibrance, often remarked as a comforting presence. Yet, this contrasts directly with his attitude when he became, in any circumstance, a combatant; undoubtedly grim and heavy. In the wake of an enemy, it is said that Kensei exudes a dominating presence that itself has won battles. A warrior with only the intent for victory, and nothing in-between.
He prefers solitude in his missions rather than the company of others, or so he likes to say. He is subconsciously always seeking a deeper connection to people around him due to this self-inflicted solitude, as well as the reasons for inflicting it.
Despite his innate disposition to kindness after many hardships and losses, Kensei retains a very volatile and unpredictable attitude and often has to consciously restrain himself from harming others in situations that provoke his emotions lest his inner desires are revealed. There is no man who despises war more than he, yet loves the acquisition of power just as much; an unfortunate byproduct of being raised as a killer for the sake of others.
Juxtaposing this, he ultimately feels pity for those who would abuse others to gain their power, believing firmly in the ability of the self and spirit to acquire prowess and security of skill. This is ultimately an effect of his hidden desire to become unrivaled in anything combat-related. Ironically, he has no issue winning a confrontation by any means necessary even if considered “cheap”. Only until it starts to unnecessarily involve the well-being of uninvolved people does he typically realize the foolishness of his actions.
“There is no such thing as a fair fight, there are only fights where both individuals are handicapped enough to trick themselves into equality. Fair warriors die fairly easily. The honorable men died with a knife in their back while the other ones went home to their children."
"Be he who seeks to excel at combat for the sake of ending combat. The ultimate goal of martial prowess is never having to use it."
"Think lightly of yourself, and deeply of the world. Do not act following customary beliefs."
"It is difficult to understand the universe if you only study one planet."

» Prologue:
"This is Dr. Isamu Omaeda; Log number 6002. Date is...The 7th of march, 2005. A Tuesday." The sounds of a keyboard clicking and clacking filled the background.
"Christ, what I wouldn't give for a good cup of coffee. This cheap instant brew shit is worse than having to stay in this place. Ah... Uh, anyway. I apologize. This is day 6209, year 17. Another one bites the dust. God damn shame. Patient 4709 displayed..."
There was a brief sigh behind the microphone.
"He displayed all hallmark signs of an unprecedented and complete success. He fit every pre-requisite to officially end Project Nicholas Flamel: With the 42nd documented case of consciousness longer than 60 seconds. The patient's body showed no signs of foreign DNA rejection, and hostility toward Soul Reaper enzymes were minimal. Hell, perfect even."
Papers could be heard shuffling, along with the familiar scratches from a half-sharpened pencil. pencil.
"Which is why it pains me to say that this one failed as well. Vitals and energy levels were all practically quintessential from both a biological and engineering standpoint. The issue seemed to fall upon a memory transplant complication in which the patient suffered from severe PTSD and epileptic seizures moments into his soul rekindling. This was shortly before a supraventricular sparked tachycardia which led to immediate cardiac arrest. Makes no fucking sense either, all physical tests came back clean. We can only assume the problem lies with spirit particle levels. We did everything right, everything according to the procedure. All levels were nominal to a T. We could have all gone home."
The Doctor could be heard leaving his seat and slowly pacing away, shortly before a glass could be heard violently shattering in the room.
"And yet again, a giant waste of our god damn time. You know-...You know, it's been 17 years in this shitty laboratory, day 6209, and no end in sight...I'm currently standing over patient 4709, and even as I stand over his body, I can still somehow almost feel the energy bleeding out of him. I've never seen anything like it. A walking miracle of science, and still somehow a damn joke from whoever's been funding us to say the least."
A button could be heard practically snapping into activation. Sirens filled the audio until not even the static of the low-quality microphone could be heard. The sirens ended, and faint metallic thumps that echoe'd were replaced with heavy breathing. The patient slid down what could only be described as a garbage chute before the doctor sat back in his chair.
"More potent samples of non-shinigami based DNA have thankfully been easier and easier to come by these days, providing a 27.3% increase in enzyme production. With that being said, I've had enough of these antics from the noble houses. All things considered, these people need me, and they know it...So on that note, I'm taking a week off. They can suck it. Omaeda signi-
"Isamu!"
A loud whisper came from the other end of the room.
"Enough with that shit in the logs. You'll get us all killed. Get your ass back in here."
The feed cut.
"..Ster!" "Mist-" More static. God, my head hurts.
A distant tunneled voice grew louder, piercing into what was otherwise a pleasant drift in dreams.
"Aee --ister, -ou a--right?"
What was that...That noise? Was it...Is that me?
Bits and pieces of sound continued to flood in.
It sounded like it was getting clearer.
"Eee's 'ot a sword. Doesn't that make him one of them Soul Reapers?" A boy's voice inquired, shortly before a girl took the forefront. "He could be one of those bandits that kills people." She spoke matter of factly.
"You think so?" The boy's voice spoke, practically oozing excitement. Kensei's eyes shot open, a child-like face silhouetted a blinding light, but the child quickly backed away with fright. All he could think about was how damn bright it was.
"Hey! He's awake! Hey Mister, are you okay?"
"Misa, Satoshi! Get the hell away from him!" A thundering voice of what could only be a guardian of these children shouted over the light itself that gleamed into Kensei's eyes.
Their footsteps shuffled backward, but not without a reluctant "But Dad-"
"What's wrong with the two of you? This place is NOT safe, do you see the dead bodies everywhere? And he's the only one alive. He could've gotten the both of you."
The man briefly choked on his words; an emotional response from having to search for his only two children for half the entire day. Kensei wanted to speak, but he could barely move a single muscle. He felt like he had a house drop on top of him, physically and mentally.
"Jesus, he did this? Grab him. Clean up the rest." A rough and stern male voice spoke.
It wasn't very long after the father and his two children left that a crowd of footsteps could be heard shuffling back around him, scavenging weapons and money off the dead and moving bodies away from the scene. Shortly after, he felt people grab onto his arms and legs, and it wasn't any help to his headache that he was tossed onto someone's back with the force of an ox and carried away.
Sleep...I need more sleep. Where was I again?

» Master of None:
Certainly, better than a master of one. Kensei finds perfection in being a jack of all trades. Any move that can be learned, he prefers to know at least a few things about it. Something can be said about not fearing the individual who practices 1,000 types of kicks one time, but rather the individual who practices one type of kick 1,000 times. Kensei prefers to be the exception, the man who practices every kick at least 3,000 times. What good are various skills if you can't learn them? Why go to someone else for your troubles when you can learn how to solve them yourself? What good is memory if you can't hold any? If there are different ways to begin a fight, then there will always be different ways to end a fight. If your enemy knows 10 ways to end a fight with the utmost perfection, know 11. One way to end a fight that your enemy can't see coming, one way to kill that your enemy cannot foresee, that is all you need; for a dead enemy doesn't need to be killed twice. And if he does, better learn 12. Because he'll know everything you just pulled. That is why Kensei adheres to his path as a Master of None. But one day, or perhaps after 1,000 days, he might be a Master of All.
» 10 Steps Ahead:
Guile. Wit. Cunning. Born with the instinct of a snake, and the reflexes of a cat; yet Kensei has never been the fastest, nor has he ever been the strongest. It is in the center of this self-realization that he has always found his true calling, a strategist and a tactician of unmatched potential and wit. Whenever Kensei enters a fight, there is little in the way of scenarios where he does not have a plan, a backup plan, and a few more plans to back those up. If Kensei cannot end a fight quickly, he will find a way end it his way irregardless. In a fight of strength, Kensei would not win an arm-wrestle because he had larger muscles. It would be because he leveraged those muscles better than his opponent. In a battle of speed, he would not be able to out-run his opponent because he became faster, it would be because he made his opponent slower. In this, the belief is formed to stay 10 steps ahead.
» Cheap Brawler:
Those who are honorable in a fight die honorably. Kensei prefers to live. Kensei is not above any tactic or technique to win a fight no matter how it might impact his image, his pride, or the outcome of the fight. Any and all ways to win a fight, Kensei deems this his territory of expertise. Eye pokes seem cheap? Try spitting into their eye. Running away seem cheap? Try turning around as they chase you only to feint a blow and keep running until they fall for an actual blow. There is something to said about being able to spend any price, any cost, in order to gain the item; and to Kensei, victory is priceless. Fight cheap, because dirty deeds pay for themselves--and then some. Kensei is none other than a cheap brawler.
» One Stroke:
Although Kensei is not a stranger to prolonged fights--especially if that is the most surefire way to victory--in all confrontation, Kensei prefers to make the first and the last strike. Leaning toward a decisive victory in just about everything he does, he gravitates towards unobvious techniques of high output and low rate of avoidability that ends a fight decidedly. In order to make use of any careful planning that he sets up himself, Kensei believes that the best way to end a fight is with every tool or weapon at your disposal in order to put down the danger swiftly, surely, and with one stroke. Though this does not mean he is unwilling to prolong a fight if necessary, it is not his preference.

» ZANPAKUTO [LOCKED]
________________________________________
Sealed Powers: N/A
» Zanpakutô Name:
Minugahana みぬがはな (Reality Flower) (Literally: Reality cannot compete with imagination, Reality is a Flower)
» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance:
Kensei's spirit manifests in the form of two identical beautiful young women. One adorned entirely in white, the other entirely in red and black. Omoiyari wears a flower atop her head and typically prefers long flowing white dresses while Ikari prefers more men-styled clothes and never does her hair up, remaining messy just like Musashi's. Both have hair that matches their color gradients, while Omoiyari has pale white skin as well; Ikari has seemingly normal tan skin. These two women are exact replicas of his daughters in Miyamoto Musashi's real life, who symbolized his innocence as well as his passion to fight and dominate.
IKARI (Wrath)
Ikari
OMOIYARI (Compassion)

» Inner World:
A world of many smaller worlds. Kensei's inner world can be described as a miniature solar system, a series of miniature worlds, where gravity and momentum have an imagination of their own. A lifeless, dark pit that’s constantly being circled by vivid colors and complex planets all around it, each with its own personalized theme. From candy worlds to technological utopias. This represents his constant turmoil with himself, seeing himself in others, and his struggle to find somewhere to fit in. As a Vagabond, Kensei sees many worlds within one.
Worlds constantly explode, or implode, and reform with different pieces to make new planets with entirely new designs every second of every minute. The more stable and collected Kensei is, the less chaotic the planets move in correlation and the less they rebuild each other.
The most chaotic of situations cause each mini planet to soar through the void like planetary baseballs, circling and smashing into each other. There is, however, always one constant. The center of the solar system is a large flower, one that contains itself without any damage or movement. When Kensei is in disarray, the dandelion wilts. When he’s happy, it’s luscious and green. And at the very top of this flower is where his Zanpakuto resides, known to his Zanpakuto as the Flower Moon Palace.
» Zanpakutô Appearance:
Kensei's Zanpakuto is a combination of a katana blade and a wakizashi blade. They're worn and beaten swords with visible rust and chips spread all throughout, and seemingly dusty at all times. But this was to his liking, as they represented all the battles he's ever fought. The wakizashi is blue handled with visibly fewer chips than the katana but a torn handle wrap, whereas the katana itself had a brown handle that was incredibly more chipped but significantly less rusted than his wakizashi.
________________________________________
» Zanpakuto Overall Ability:
Many Zanpakuto's deal with the aspect of perception, illusion, and deceit. While the latter may be true for Kensei's sake of strategic approach, it is never the case of Minugahana. Nothing is more literal, nothing is more serious, and nothing is more deadly to both the enemy and the user.
The Zanpakuto of reality, the sword of truth, the blade of stories, and the edge of absolutes; creation and destruction. For nothing can be truer and more absolute than a story, not even the fact itself. This is why nothing is more absolute than Kensei's Zanpakuto. Some might call it the sword of war; others might call it the sword of peace. It is both, and it is neither.
It is the veil of dreams, and the curtain puller. It is more guileful than an illusion, and more devastating than a truth. This is Minugahana. The flower of reality. The beauty of the beginning, and the horror of the ending of the story.
Minugahana deals with the alteration of reality itself, as opposed to manipulation of illusions. The entire veil of 'real life' is the illusionary playground of this Zanpakuto, bending it to its will. As such, the commandant of such a power is left vulnerable themselves and reveals that most of its abilities comes at a cost to the user as well.
The Zanpakuto fancies itself the progenitor of stories and the ultimate truth/meaning to them, and as such it becomes a proverb in of itself. It becomes a meaning, a story, and a lesson. The user cannot escape this lesson, nor the meaning of it, and thus never the story.
The direct control of reality is something that Minugahana does not claim to do, but rather the very concepts for which reality is perceived in any given situation. Each ability represents its awe-striking abilities, as well as its deathly consequences.

» Shikai Release Phrase:
"Dig your own grave, gouge out your eyes and devour yourself in avarice."
» Shikai Release Action:
One sword must be struck against the other to create sparks, which then erupt into a flaming frenzy of reiatsu around Kensei. The frenzy then spirals upward and outward, creating the horrendous image of an Oni Demon that seethes in anger and disgust. The frightening image retains its shape for a few moments, lashing and spitting everywhere, before it compresses into the blades of Minugahana and forms the Shikai.
» Shikai Appearance:
When released, the sealed katana remains nearly identical with the exception of a blood red blade, along with a thick and heavy red vapor emitting from it which seems to get even thicker with each cut. The wakizashi shrinks into a small but thick curved dagger of bright white bone, with sharp teeth placed randomly on the back as if torn straight from the jawbone, and a nasty jagged edge that would fool most into thinking it was dull.
Ikari Blade:
Omoiyari Blade:
The two twin girls morph in appearance, with Ikari becoming a rabid monstrosity, and Omoiyari being the owner to Ikari, albeit enslaved and chained to her.
Minugahana Shikai Spirit appearance:
» Shikai Abilities:
Ability One:
Omoiyari 思いやり (Compassion): “Dodge the Bullet”/"Dodgeball" || ("Abunakatta") あぶなかった (Literally: Caution)
Upon activation of this ability, the person who last attacked (the latest recipient of an attack of any nature) is deemed “The last one picked”. Omoiyari favors the underdog, and thus the (next) attack of the individual who was last attacked will be severely lethal, while the other combatants damage will be minimized into non-lethal force (non-harmful). (Kensei can only select two individuals at a time as the combatants, one usually including himself) If both individuals are attacking simultaneously, the person who receives the most damage from the encounter is considered the underdog, or the individual who used the weakest ability. Anything that either opponent sees as an "attack" or" defense" may become lethal, or non-lethal depending on who the underdog is. (Example: Anything as miniscule as simply blowing air violently in the direction of the enemy may be turned lethal, or a seemingly violent tap of the finger maybe rendered nearly useless)
While this ability is active, the user may also create a "Plot Twist" and choose to double the strength and speed of a single attack (or their body) for one post at the cost of the other's (next) attack (or body) being double the speed and power regardless of who the underdog is, and the other's next attack will remain doubled until it is used. This is nicknamed Jigou Jitoku, or 'what goes around comes around'. The user may swap the effect from Jigou Jitoku to Jitoku Jigou, or “what comes around goes around” to halve the speed and power of an attack (or their body) at the cost of the other combatant's body being halved in both speed and power for the next post. Concept cut may affect this ability as it deems fit, doubling or halving the concept of any concept within this ability's domain. (For example: Doubling the concept of underdogs so that the next two attacks become doubly lethal, while the other's attacks become doubly non-lethal. Or, allowing it to affect four people at once as opposed to two. Or doubling the requirement for underdog from "Last attacked" To "Last damaged" etc.)
Ability Two:
Ikari 怒り (Wrath): “Simon Says” || ("Senchō-san no meire") 船長さんの命令 (Literally: Ship Captain's orders)
A straightforward but deadly technique. When Ikari cuts an opponent, the body part that is touched by the blade becomes linked to the user's own cellular blood, nerves, muscles, and skin in that area. If an opponent's arm is cut, then the blood and nerves in that arm can be controlled by manipulating the blood and nerves in the user's own arm. This can be done to weaken, slow, or constrict the users own blood-flow/nervous signals to inflict the same effect on the opponent. (Example: Nerve and muscle usage of the left hand are severed temporarily on Kensei's hand, and the effects instantaneously transfer to the opponents; leaving the opponents hand useless as well)
During the use of this ability, the user can make a "Plot Twist". This is nicknamed Jigou Jitoku, or 'what goes around comes around'. This allows the temporary amplification of a limb that has been "cut off" or "restricted"--allowing the use of their own limb which they are using to limit the opponent--for 1 post at 2x speed, power, and reiatsu output before the body part liberated by this effect will see all its blood vessels, muscles, and nerves completely tattered, possibly writing it off for the rest of the battle unless healing is acquired. This damage is not given to the opponent, and only affects the user of this ability, who has attempted to create the "Plot Twist''. The user may swap the effect from Jigou Jitoku to Jitoku Jigou, or “what comes around goes around”. In this case, the user can amplify a chosen area (speed, power, and reiatsu output by 2x for 1 post) of a target opponent’s body part or surface area--when it has been cut--for 1 post before this effect will see all its blood vessels, muscles, and nerves completely tattered. (Concept cut can alter any part of this ability as it sees fit within the parameters of concept cut's ability)
Ability Three:
Ikari 怒り (Wrath): “You have to follow the Leader” || ("Riidaa ni tsutzuke") リーダーにつづけ (Literally: Follow the Leader)
Nicknamed: Concept Cut. More specifically, concept alteration. Whenever Ikari (red blade) cuts something, it learns the formula to alter its concept into half, or double. The alteration can affect everything (objects) in a 50m radius, a person’s actions, a singular action itself, or the very meaning of an action. However, any concept alteration that is directed toward a sentient being (such as an opponent or ally) or their actions must affect the user/opponent as well. (Any “cut” turned into a “gash” will affect Kensei as well) Any concept alteration enacted upon non-sentient origins will only affect what is deemed necessary by the user within his 50m radius, and only three concepts may be changed at a time per post. This means Concept Cut can quite literally cut the concept of something in half and turn it into two separate concepts, or it can half the effectiveness of the meaning. Examples: ‘Cut’ turned into ‘Gash’, or ‘leaf’ separated into ‘exoskeleton with water’. ‘Bright light’ turned into ‘Blinding light’ or ‘blackened light’.
During the use of this ability, the user can make a "Plot Twist". This is nicknamed Jigou Jitoku, or 'what goes around comes around'. The plot twist for this allows the user to choose to alter his own blade’s concept of cutting. In this case, every time the user strikes, a ‘metaphorical cut’ is left behind in that spot. A small Kanji for ‘cut’ hovering in the air that lasts for up to 3 posts. If an object or opponent comes into contact with the Kanji, the user can turn the ‘metaphor’ into ‘reality’ and the cut resumes; slicing anything within range when this happens as if actually cut in that area. If Minugahana's Ikari cuts a concept twice, it may be freely altered without affecting the user. The user may swap the effect from Jigou Jitoku to Jitoku Jigou, or “what comes around goes around”. This allows the user to alter the position of 'cut' Kanji freely in a literal sense without cutting, as long as the Kanji has been written. The cut Kanji of whatever this is left on may be instantaneously moved anywhere else on this object but may not leave the object unless manually transferred from object to object at normal speeds. (Example: If the Kanji for "Cut" is left on a tree, Ikari can move its location anywhere on that tree instantaneously and then form the cut into a real one. To move from a tree to an opponent or another object, the kanji must travel through the air at rapid speeds to reach them or the object.)
Ability Four:
Omoiyari 思いやり (Compassion): "Gazing into the Mirror" || ("Murasaki no kagami.") 紫の鏡. (Literally: Purple Mirror)
An ability that lasts indefinitely over the course of release. Kensei's white bone dagger produces a constant light shower of ‘rain’ within a 100-meter radius of anywhere he is and may alter the intensity and direction of the rain by altering the radius. For example, he can push the rain farther than 100m, but he loses the intensity of the rain. He can increase the intensity, but he must reduce the radius to 50m to double it, etc. This rain is the primary calling card of Minugahana. More commonly known as “Dry Rain”, this ability produces a reiatsu infused with moisture that does the exact opposite of what moisture does, and droughts/absorbs anything it touches over a period of time. While this is happening, a life-size translucent and ‘wet’ form of the opponent begins forming above them, slowly taking shape into the opponent over time. When increasing the intensity of the rain and focusing it on a single position, the user can overwhelm the reiatsu of abilities by 'drowning' and effectively draining it. When the opponent’s reiatsu is completely drained, the replica of the opponent becomes complete as if a mirror image. If for some reason the opponent is still able to fight back after being drained of their moisture and reiatsu, the replica of the opponent will take corporeal form and attack their real counterpart with the strength of the reiatsu they just absorbed. (Limited to only melee attacks and cannot replicate any abilities).
Kensei may also form a "Plot Twist" This is nicknamed Jigou Jitoku, or 'what goes around comes around'. The plot twist for dry rain involves the use of concept cut, and turns dry rain into "dry mist", turning the visible droplets into a nearly translucent vapor that fills the air in the same radius as the original use of the ability. The user may swap the effect from Jigou Jitoku to Jitoku Jigou, or “what comes around goes around”. In this case, the "Dry rain" or "dry mist" becomes "dry ice", turning the droplets or vapor into a solid snow/ice that envelopes and freezes over whatever Kensei chooses to while retaining the draining abilities. The larger the radius of snow/ice, the less intensified the draining effect.
The opponent starts off with 10 posts of exposure of 1-1 exposure. 100m being standard
--Every post of prolonged exposure to "non intensified" and "non expanded" will leave the opponent drained in a 1-1 ratio, meaning will take 10 posts of exposure to completely drain the opponent and leave them droughted.
--Every post the opponent is exposed to "double intensity" rain, the ratio is doubled. Meaning it will take only 5 posts to leave the opponent droughted.
--Every post the opponent is exposed to "Expanded" rain; it will take twice as long if the radius is doubled. Meaning the length of 20 posts to leave the opponent fully droughted.
--This ratio can be altered according to the ratio of radius. 100m is standard for example, and 25 meters of intensity would be triple intensity, meaning it would only take 3 posts to leave the opponent fully droughted. Likewise, the ability can be extended to 300m, but that would take 30 posts to leave an opponent droughted and is not ideal.
--A full blast of 10m intensified dry rain will leave the opponent utterly drained in one hit, but this form of dry rain is incredibly difficult to control and may only move in torrents/surges at 90-degree angles, making it easier to dodge when its patterns are discovered.
