Jogging throughout Karakura had really become a morning staple for Hikari, although she’d been doing it for the last couple years she’d often taken a few days off here and there. Since she graduated high school she’d been more adamant about it, then came the loss of her father which only pushed her further. The final push though came when she’d learned why she could see spirits and now interact with them, when for whatever strange reason she’d been plucked up from her normal life and put into some sort of modern war between all sorts of strange species with unknown powers. Everything just seemed like an anime or a comic book now.
All she knew for certain though, especially after dealing with that Hollow in Kyoto, was that she could die. At any moment a Hollow could show up, a Hollow from everything she’d been told so far likely would come after her before going after any normal person which meant she couldn’t be unprepared. She had goals she wanted to accomplish which just so happen to align with her need to get physically stronger though, it became easier to reach another level with all the motivation she could ever need now.
It’d been a week now with nothing really out of the norm, a week that almost felt like a vacation because she hadn’t come across a Hollow or demons or something else she didn’t know about yet. Trying to figure out exactly what group of things she fell into was irritating, but it’d been done. Figuring out how to communicate her wishes to the souls of the objects around her was worse than studying chemistry. Although it wasn’t something she’d call herself good at she’d figured out some things and then thought up others that she felt would either save or her be cool.
It was nearly noon now, she’d done her jogging a few hours ago, but she had to pick up some stuff for the house. Her right shoulder still wasn’t completely healed yet, something that didn’t sit well with Hikari as it’d been about a month since that Hollow had dug its fingers into her flesh. Did she need to do something in order to help it heal or was there something keeping the wound from closing. Either way she’d have to figure something out, her time off from work was nearing its end. Walking along the sidewalk Hikari just had to question if she’d come across another Shinigami today.
