One. Two. And three. Thugs were the sort of people that always ended up popping out of the shadows like Roaches. They multiply like Bunnies, and scatter around as if they own the place. There were never a shortage of them considering if one was taken down then there would two more to replace them. Kami already knew that Rukongai was filled with them, so it wasn't strange when there were mission postings in the Squad 6 barracks on handling some of groups. Yeah yeah, Squad 6 wasn't normally meant to handle cases like these since their own duties were to care for diplomatic operations and the such. Of course, much of those duties were reserved for higher rank officials within the Squad like the Vice Captain and Captain. Some of the Seated Officers took care of the minor talks and acted like representatives to the communities that the Seireitei dealt with. Soooooo that was what brought Kami into the ghettos.
Another thug bit the dust as Kami flung the poor soul over her shoulder and onto his back. So, what was her part in doing all of this? Well, a Seated Officer in Squad 6 was acting as a medium between the Seireitei and that of a few districts in Rukongai. The postings that she saw in the barracks were essentially asking for volunteers to help assist with some of those duties. Meaning grunt work in other words. Some muscle was needed to help enforce protection for the districts that the Seated Officer was in charge of, considering maintaining some level of peace within these areas fell to that Officer. As such, Kami threw in her hand to help out. But, obviously it wasn't really to help out her superior in any way since she just wanted to help Rukon.
Kaminari was born in the ghetto, District 24 to be exact. Born into an environment that fighting meant surviving, and keeping her head low would result in death at the hands of people who were very much like the thugs she was dealing with now. Some people refused to do nothing and let the thugs and punks do what they wanted. Others fought on their own and struck out just as easily against larger numbers. Might was always right in Rukon, and always was. But, sometimes people needed a little bit of help. Her sensei did, and if only he had gotten that help, then maybe he wouldn't have died. To be honest she couldn't completely bring herself to show a lot of sympathy for Rukon, but at the same time can't bring herself to hate it entirely. Her black hair whipped about as though it were a tail when the edged blade of her Zanpakutou was swung against another pair of hooligans. Their mediocre swords didn't have much of the umph that her blade did. The result was their blades splintering before they snapped, forcing one body of a Human being into another as they collided into each other from the crashing of her blade against theirs.
Though, Kaminari had to be honest with herself entirely at this point in time. Her real reason for taking on this job was simply because she was bored. Fighting was something that she did enjoy. Becoming a Shinigami did help to relieve a bit of that itch considering that it allowed her to move freely to be able to fulfill that desire. For her to come to fight against Hollows and other beings like them was something that the Shinigami was looking forward to, and to be able to push herself even further was all the more exciting. Sure it was going to be tough and a lot of work but that made her move her body in a way that was enjoyable. To her it was like a party or a good time outing. Skills didn't matter to Kami, despite having some formal training with the sword, as much as her body. But to her that wasn't really the idea. Skill doesn't make up the strong body. It was the strong body that made up the skill. Can't do or learn any skills if the body can't keep up with it after all. Duh.
Holstering her claymore the Shinigami proceeded towards the next area. Working with the other Squads in order to maintain the peace in Rukon was an ongoing mission. Members of the other Squads would arrive to deal with what was left of Kami's mess after grabbing what little information was needed. Of course, Kaminari had to beat them into bloody pulps in order to get the information out of them. That being a name, a place, whatever they could offer was where the Shinigami would take her business to next. Each of these groups were large, and operated with that of other groups much like the Shinigami squads. It made this mission a bit of a pain to have to swat each of grunts like ants, and more so when they couldn't pick up a fight.
Having to beat those that could barely hold their own was lame, and annoying. Just as she was getting fired up they go limp, or tire out to the point they ask for mercy. While Kaminari wanted more action out of them, she also couldn't bring herself to wanting to do damage to the ghetto. Despite her lack of love for Rukongai she couldn't necessarily bring herself to draw out fights for her own amusement. It simply sucked. For that main reason she didn't seek to fulfill herself to her hearts content. That only made her more agitated. Good grief.
