Only a week after the last visit to this area, Shawn sits legs crossed in the middle of this flower covered valley that lays only about fifty feet from some thick woods in the 24th West Rukon District. I hope Odayakama Senshi excepts my letter request to train floated through his mind as he listened to the flowers as the breeze rustled them bringing a lovely aroma to his nose. My Captain is great when it comes to Hakuda and physical fights but he doesn't have a large enough Kido arsenal to teach me in that, even if i'm not solely focusing on kido, this is due to the new Technique he has recently discovered after his little training session he had here. The pleasant breeze continued to go for a time until about thirty minutes or so passed, I may be slow but i know the directions i put in my letter lead here, this was the last thing that ran through his head before he could begin to see a person approaching in the distance.
Standing up Shawn decides to bow as he was uncomfortable with the new face coming towards him even though he was the one that invited them, "Thank you for coming!" he tried to say as formally as possible but actually came out slightly shaky and a higher pitch then normal. Gripping the silver cross hanging around his neck provided enough comfort for him to continue with his wish to train. "I am Shawn Rabuburēdo, Unseated Officer of Squad 11", now all he had to do was wait for a response, still bowing and nervous, but intent on continuing forward!

Frankly, Odayakama Senshi was one of the people who seemed to train people that got far in life, at least when it came down to the prospects of Kido. Debatably one of the best in the spiritual art other than say the captain of the Fifth Division, the Sixth Division, and the Kido Division. Though, at least she could have the pride and honor to state that amongst all Lieutenants of the current Gotei Thirteen, she was unmatched in said skill. Though, it took great amounts of courage, as well as strength to come here to the Rukon today, she had done it. Someone might wonder. "Why?" Those people knew about as well as Senshi did.
Her cerulean eyes were glassy, and distant, but she remembered her vow to train the Shinigami, especially the new ones if she could afford it in her time and schedule, and frankly, Senshi was on a requested leave for the time being in order to help her mental health. She didn't report to the medics to help her with her problem. She simply requested a period of respite and leave, and with it, she left her duties to others.
Ah yes, the beauty of bureaucracy. Where everything took time, review over case files, as well as trading documents back and forth in an endless cycle of management. It wasn't hard for anyone in the Seireitei to know who she was, at least based off of her outfit. Though it might be hard to believe that such a figure was one that was worthy enough to be considered a Lieutenant. As she walks along the path?
She was short. Somewhere along 5'2", maybe just a smidgen shorter, she had mid length crimson hair, stopping just at her shoulders, a smooth and silky look about it. That, and if someone were to look at her? Well, she looked youthful. The fact that her outfit was a bit baggy and not fitting didn't quite help with that assumption. However, here she was, approaching this unseated officer of Squad Eleven. She had answered his call.
It might have taken a second, especially considering the bagginess of her outfit, but as she gets closer, he could see Senshi's left sleeve of her Shihakusho, or at least the lower end of the sleeve fluttering in the wind, the upper half pinned to the main outfit, and with it, the Lieutenant's badge rested firmly along it in full as she stops, perhaps a dozen paces away as he bows himself before her. She tilts her head slightly to the right, closes her eyes, and tries to smile, to hide the pain of body, mind, and soul that ached her.
"Pleasure to meet you. My name...is Odayakama Senshi. Please treat me well." She responds with a cute and cordial gaze, and with it, the man might then also notice...how large her blade was. At nearly five feet tall, the scabbard practically lightly drags along the ground one might realize, and one might wonder how in the world this little girl looking figure utilizes it, especially when one handed. Regardless. Looking ahead at her student, and potential new disciple, she bows her head in turn.
"A-Ano...What is it that we were looking to learn today? Hado? Or Bakudo? Or are we here to learn about Kido in general today?" Returning her small shy smile, she keeps her eyes closed as her lips curl upwards. Perhaps because she didn't want someone looking into her eyes. If they did, they might see the emptiness of them and the pain that lingered from horrors that were so unspeakable, she couldn't say.

Finally releasing his bow, Shawn straightens up while looking over this Vice Captain, she seems young but knowing the way age works in the Soul Society she probably has been around longer then he. Some people might stare at the missing appendage, yet he is not one, after all, he has seen those with missing limbs that have easily outshone him and those he knows in various situations. “I was hoping for general lessons on kido as I do not intend to focus solely on kido, but be able to reliably use it to adapt to different situations”. The nervousness slowly seeps away as he starts to talk, most likely due to the fact that Senshi reminds him of his younger sister.
Letting go of his cross Shawn puts his hand to his side, trying to appear as respectful as possible. I hope i can keep up with her lessons though, that shameful notion passed through his mind, remembering how he couldn’t protect his siblings in their time of need, It WILL be different this time, as long as i have this scar, i will never stop training to protect. The simple scar on his face that goes from the tip of his lip on the right side about an inch toward his right ear. This shows him failure to protect is not an option, spurring him on in this meeting.
“I know enough kido at the moment to help in some situations, but i haven't learned how to use them to their utmost ability, If it seems ok to start there anyways?” Saying this showed him how far he has come and how far he still has to go, all thats left now is to wait and see which direction he will be heading.

She smiled and thought about his requests. He wanted to learn general Kido? "Hrm...Then why don't you give me a little insight on what you know, and then we'll see where we'd like to head next?" She stands firmly in place, looking to hear first what Kido he knew, and would then expand from there, wishing for a momentary that she had both hands to motion with, though she supposed she'd have to make do. Motioning for the man to follow, she walks calmly by his side until they find themselves a fair distance away from civilization, and instead near wilderness.
"Hado. The path of destruction. Spells with incredible versatility and scales." She sweeps a finger outwards as a crackling electricity ripples out and destroys, snapping several trees with a piercing destructive power to the right, the creaking groans as they collapse along the ground as she then motions with her right hand before them. "Bakudo. The path of binding. Used to defend, capture, as well as for utilities." She notes, as she wordlessly forms a orange shield along her arm the size of a buckler, crackling with energy as she lets it crack and shatter into nothingness after displaying it's defensive capabilities, as a falling tree is repelled and rolls to the side after bouncing off her arm.
She took a deep breath, and with it, she winces lightly at the sunlight that was exposed now through the trees as she awaited him. It was time for him to display the idea on which path he'd like to begin. "It's a rough path to walk down, and it takes dedication, and focus. Though, I promise. The results are worth it." It might have been a bit difficult to believe such a small figure had released such spiritual power, but he might be surprised to know that while her spiritual power was impressive, there were still other beings out there with power still that could equal, if not surpass it.

When asked what kido he knows Shawn would pause for a moment before answering her question. “At this time I only know 3 different Kido Techniques, one of them is Bakudo #4 Hainawa and the other two are Hado’s, Specifically #4 and #11.” After another pause Shawn would then speak again “I do however have another technique that I like to Pair with Hado #11 but it isn’t a Kido, if you would like me to show you I can, however I doubt it compares to anything you can currently do.”
If Senshi wanted to see this Technique then Shawn would immediately flick his fingers from both hands outward from his side. From this motion thin strings would appear to fly out from his fingers and eventually attach themselves to the ground surrounding him, as they attach to the ground he would quickly grip both hands to hold the strings in place. Those with a high enough ES or Senses would realize that the string doesn’t come out of his fingers but actually forms as it travels through the air to its destination. While griped Shawn would then mentally cast Hado #11 and the strings he is currently holding would become electrified providing a small electric barrier all around him. Waiting a moment he would release the strings and they would fall harmlessly to the ground and simultaneously lose their electrical charge.
He would then wait for a response before following Senshi to witness her examples and if she didn’t want an example he would then wait as he witnessed her examples. Watching her perform these Kido Techniques with ease and seeing the destructive potential Hado possessed would leave Shawn in awe. She may remind me of my sister but without a doubt she could destroy me dozens of times over at this time. Shawn would clarify his answer to the question she previously asked him, “I do intend to learn both sides equally as I fully understand there is only so far destructive Hado can take you, these examples have also reminded me of the potential of both.” Shawn would then wait for his new instructor to begin truly teaching him of how far Kido can be taken.

"For someone who's come fresh out of the academy, that's really good Raburedo-Kun!" When she first came out of the academy, other than Shunpo, Byakurai was the only other Kido she had access to. He said he wanted to learn about both paths equally, and that he'd mainly focused on Hado techniques, minus Hainawa. "Then let's start with teaching you some Bakudo techniques that should be around your level." With a small nod of her head, she decides to show him the basics. After all, he was going to need to learn to walk before he could run.
"The path of Bakudo. It's useful for incapacitation, but also protecting oneself, as I showed you before, and Kido can be used in wide ways, especially with mastery Raburedo-Kun. They can also be used in combination with one another." Stepping closer to him, she slowly places her right hand along his right shoulder, before then beginning an incantation. "Man, shaped by Divine hands. Revert to the form before limbs. Clutch at your own throat and be afraid." Breaking the incantation into three sentences, she then sweeps her hand outward.
"Bakudo no Ichi. Sai." The weakest of the Bakudo, and the first, he would find his arms under compulsion to wrap behind his back, with an incredibly strength, as if they were bound in steel, in a mold that would refuse to give resistance. "This Bakudo is the most basic application of that. Though...There are other Bakudo that act in different ways of incapacitation as well." Deciding to emphasize this, she points her middle and index finger outward towards him, hoping he wouldn't be alarmed.
"Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini. Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat. Bakudo no Kyu. Geki." A red beam shoots out from her fingertips, a large sized beam, similar to that of a Cero, except when it collided with him, he would find himself in a glowing red aura, showing how from just the arms, now with this Kido, his entire body would be paralyzed, frozen in place, unable to move a single muscle, and even closing his eyes was an impossibility. It could have been a difference in scale of their spiritual powers, but yet, he'd also see just how useful Bakudo could be if applied in higher level.
"Next...something a little higher level." Extending her middle and index finger, a slight glowing yellow energy seems to form at the tips. "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into three. Bakudo no Sanju. Shitotsu Sansen." Entering the thirties level, he would find she draws a triangular shape, before then, at the tips of each side, three beak like protrusions form, and slam into his paralyzed body, sending him soaring into the air, and actually pinning him against a tree, one beak for his legs, the other two for his arms as they lock him in place physically as opposed to paralyzing his body.
"Bakudo only scales further, and further, and at the highest levels, can repel devastating attacks, both physical and spiritual. Even things such as Cero, or other powerful techniques." With a wave of her hand, the beaks crack and shatter, dissolving into nothing, and with it, he finds himself able to move, speak, and free his arms. "G-Gomenasai. For the rough display. I'll make it up to you." She seemed nervous, shy at her core, and with it, she lightly rubs the back of her head with her free hand. "It's a rough venture."

Senshi compliments his current knowledge of Kido considering he only recently became a full fledged Shinigami. Knowing that compared to the Shinigami in front of him, his current knowledge was as flimsy as a piece of paper, only capable of standing firm when combined with more paper. “Thank you Odayakama Sensei, I really don’t deserve those words yet.” Tightening his fists as he said that, resolving in his mind to become stronger. Relaxing his grip as Senshi began to talk about teaching him some Bakudo Techniques.
Shawn was not expecting what came next however, as Senshi explained the usefulness of Bakudo she began speaking an incantation right before slowly placing her hand on his right shoulder. Slight confusion touches his face as she finishes the incantation as she sweeps her hand outward. “Bakudo no Ichi. Sai.” These words leave her lips right before Shawn’s arms wrap behind his back, regardless of how hard he tries to yank his arms back in place they wouldn’t budge. Well this isn’t going to end well, is it? These were his thoughts right before Senshi continued her lesson.
Her middle and index finger raised towards his face and all Shawn could do was calmly wait for something unpleasant to happen. Speaking the incantation before finishing with Bakudo #9: Geki, Shawn found a large red beam coming towards him from her fingers and the moment it smacked into him he would find this red aura around his entire body, which he now can’t seem to move at all. Yup, this girl could break me hundreds of times over if she wanted to, this thought did not comfort him as he heard those words, “Next…. Something a little higher level.”
Shawn’s body went slightly cold as he listened to the next incantation and watched as a slight yellow energy began to form at the end of her raised finger tips. Finishing the incantation and calling the name Bakudo #30: Shitotsu Sansen, she then begins quickly drawing a triangle in the air. These motions seem to create three triangles, one on each side of the triangle drawn in the air, before watching them hurtle towards him. Unable to speak, a quiet gurgle is all that leaves his open mouth as the triangles slam into him, sending him flying backwards before smacking into a tree. With the air leaving his body on impact, he now breathes heavily, attempting to regather the air that escaped his lungs.
Listening to her explain how powerful Bakudo becomes was proving difficult for Shawn as there is now a slight ringing in his ears that slowly disappears. Waving her hand would cause Shawn to fall to the ground as all the Techniques used on him seem to shatter and dissipate. “No need to apologize, I understand my current state, and after all, experience is one of the best teachers.” Speaking these words as he gets up, Shawn would hear the slight nervousness in her voice. I see she is harder to trust than I, now I just need to show her she can. Those words flutter through his mind as he speaks up once more, “I believe I have regained myself Sensei, I am ready to continue.”

"S-Sensei?" She proceeds to pause at the sudden call, and with it, she seemed to be contemplative. Looking at the situation, she proceeds to seem a little flustered at the thought. However, she proceeds to put a smile curve upward of the lips, even though she wasn't sure how that title made her feel. However, she would ultimately look at the situation before proceeding to feel like she might have to continue the training. She thought back to Ranth, and yet, it didn't really feel the same. It felt different. Maybe that too was a change from her return from her "adventure".
"Let's continue with some material." With it, she would look through a number of training materials, texts, and a couple of materials that she would have Shawn go over, and with it, she would have him train the most basic of Kido. The Sho, not because it was a Bakudo, but because it was a simple and trainable defensible spell and because it was the most basic application of Kido that she could think of. An oppressive force. It was something that he would be using repetition and skilled practice.
He might also be surprised also at the prospect of having to train his body and not simply casting Kido repeatedly. After all, a sound body and a sound mind made a sound soul. So Senshi believed. "One knows they've mastered a technique when its casting has become more like an instinct. When one's mastered a Kido to the point they can cast it wordlessly. That's the level of excellence you should strive for." As if to show her point, she blasts her own Sho, and with it, a seemingly invisible wave of force launches outward, ripping through the ground, launching upwards rocks, roots, plants, and other forms of debris, ripping outward, until he might see a new found trench...
In addition, as he might begin his practice, she would add on. "In order to learn a Kido, you will need to begin by learning its incantation. Commit it to memory. Pace yourself in the incantation, and memorize it in parts." However, as time passes through, she seemed to linger and fall a bit deeper into her thoughts. It seemed that Senshi was here to guide him, lead him through, and with it, she seemed to linger in her own perspectives as Shawn would put in his effort.
Now would be the time for Shawn to ask any questions, reflect on his progress, and dwell deeper on his lessons. After all, he surely had some inquiries for his teacher, some ideals he wanted to reach, or figure out more didn't he? Perhaps not. However, his training has just begun, and with it, Senshi had sat, her legs crossed, hugging her seemingly comically large sword to her person as she seemed to look out over the horizon.

From the slight stutter Senshi had when repeating the word sensei it was clear she wasn't used to hearing that, though it wasn't clear if she never heard it or just hasn't been called it in a long time. With a slight smile she eventually continues on with her teaching by explaining what it truly means to master Kido, to the point of being able to cast it as if a natural part of your instinct. This makes sense, I almost feel that way about using Advanced Air Strings, the question is what is sensei going to use as an example for this mastering of Kido? Thinking about for a moment his internal question was answered as Senshi used Sho wordlessly creating a small path that traveled with it.
Listening intently as she spoke Shawn was ready to get into the tedious work of training, after all this is what he was used to doing by himself. As pointed out by Senshi and from previous experience in order to learn how to use a Kido one must memorize the incantation. She went silent after this so Shawn took a moment to figure out some of the Kido he intended to learn and eventually master. Thinking a bit brought none immediately to mind so he decides he might as well ask Senshi what here favorite Kido techniques are to use, "Sensei if I may ask, what is your favorite Hado and Bakudo to use?"
Shawn would wait and listen to her response, simultaneously trying to think of what else he could ask her while he can learn from her. When Senshi finished explaining her favorites if she did at all Shawn had another question pop to mind. "Is there any special Bakudo you could suggest for someone like me who plans on locking down a person to prevent them from avoiding attacks or just to capture them, one that might be very useful in the future?" Now was definitely the time to figure out some of the different Kido he planned on using in the future so that he could keep them in mind and slowly build up to learning it.
While Shawn was listening to Senshi teach he would also allow the surrounding nature to wash over him with it's noise bringing peace of mind and reminding him of small memories from his past. The sounds of birds and the wind traveling from the woods nearby flowing through the trees and eventual the flowers as well, birds singing as they continue their day talking to one another and show their excitement from finding something they enjoy. Memories of chasing his younger siblings through the field as their parents laughed at how silly their children where being nearly brought a tear to his eye, I will find them, with this solemn thought he listened even more fervently to the teachings of Senshi.

Her favorite Hado and Bakudo. That was a question she was inquired about, and with it, seemingly had a difficult time answering as she lifted her head to the sky, her index finger resting along her chin. “My favorite Bakudo...perhaps Rikujokoro. My favorite Hado…” She seemed to mull on that longer before shaking her head. “I don’t have one.” She reassures, and with it she adds, “I’m not very good at Hado to be honest.” She says it confidently, as if it were a fact, even when in reality that was certainly not the truth. Luckily, few in Seireitei could refute such a claim.
“As for locking opponents down...There’s many great options. Hyapporankan. Rikujokoro. Sajosabaku. The possibilities are endless. However, each have their uses.” She slowly seemed to be a bit more comfortable with her pupil, and while that was persay a difficult thing for Senshi to say, she was at least settling in with becoming less awkward. It was incredibly odd to think about where she was now in her life, how she had progressed to this point. Yet, there was a level of satisfaction at having done it. It was something that they said was incredibly difficult, if not impossible for someone like herself.
A Shinigami is said to unlock the powers of Bankai very rarely if not coming from an esteemed bloodline, and yet, here she was. She had beaten the battle to come to the position of her rank, but now, she had to simply win the battle that was within herself. Yet, that seemed to be a far more difficult opponent. The first step was acknowledging who and what she was at this point in time. “For...something more doable and your level. We should stick with something...simple. The redheaded reaper would slowly rise from her resting position as she leans upon her trusted blade.
“Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini. Look upon yourself with horror, and then claw out your own throat.” She calls out calmly, and with it, she flourishes her spiritual energy just a tad bit, focusing it, as she purposefully exerts her pressure over the area. It was not excessive, but the howl that she seemed to generate had been her expectation. The sound of a tormented soul, the Hollow. The Hollow that stepped forth was a lumbering giant of a creature with a face that resembled more of a lion with a bulging, almost contorted body that bulged with muscle. Its body was black and its hands were warped into twisted claws. Yellow eyes looked upon the both of them as it howled again, before entering a sprint.
“Bakudo no Kyu. Geki.” As she extends her hand outwards, the Hollow glows a crimson red, and in those moments, topples to the floor, almost as if the creature was petrified or turned into stone, seemingly frozen other than the cry it released. The aura seemingly wrapped and constricted so tightly. “Byakurai.” A blast of electricity from her fingertip was all it took next to purify the creature, send it into the soul cycle, to become a resident of the Seireitei. It only displayed just how dangerous Kido could be, and yet, it became evident that Senshi knew many of them, whilst Raburedo was scratching surfaces. Learning the possibilities.
Senshi’s eyes looked down at the purifying darkness, and with it, her cerulean eyes seemed to linger, before she looked up towards the sky. It was mystifying in some ways. She could hardly understand how this was the world they truly lived in. Yet, had she ever come to question why the world was the way it was? What kind of god designed the world to be this way? “Raburedo-Kun?” She calls with her pitch slightly rising at the end? She might have sounded like a curious child perhaps, or perhaps some school sweetheart. “...Why do you want to learn Kido? What reason do you have to want to learn these arts? Finally...I suppose. Why from me?”

The question Shawn asked must have been difficult to answer, looking up towards the sky and resting her index finger on her chin she was clearly figuring out the answer to what her favorite Hado and Bakudo were. After a few moments she begins speaking to Shawn, apparently her favorite Bakudo could be Rikujokoro and as far as Hado goes she doesn't have one. This does make since as unless the user struggles with dealing damage Hado wouldn't be their first choice. The variety of things someone could do with Bakudo is nearly unlimited, it could pin down a foe to make them an easier target, it can even completely end a fight by knocking them out, in fact Bakudo is even used to make defensive shields made from reiatsu during battle. These are the reasons Shawn isn't surprised Senshi prefers Bakudo; however, he can't believe the idea of her being great at Bakudo but not being able to use Hado that well, if anything Bakudo may be harder to use in his opinion.
Moving on to Shawn's next question Senshi gives a couple of good Bakudo for locking down an opponent such as Hyapporankan, Rikujokoro, and Sajosabaku. She doesn't stop there as she mentions how endless the choices of Bakudo there are, just that each one has their own use. Yeah, that's a good point, maybe I should specify how I want to lock down an opponent? Otherwise most Bakudo can get the job done, this thought travels through his mind as Senshi talks. “For...something more doable and your level. We should stick with something...simple." As she speaks it's pretty clear how calm she is, in fact it makes Shawn a little jealous how comfortable she seems to be talking to someone she only just meet today; after all, the only reason Shawn is this calm might mostly due with the fact Senshi makes him think of his younger sister, even if she doesn't really look like her.
At this point Senshi begins speaking an incantation, sadly Shawn as absolutely no ability when it comes to sensing spiritual energy, in fact at this time even his normal senses are barely average if that. This is why Shawn never noticed the incoming threat, something that could have easily killed him before he even had a chance to react, this is hard on him especially because it was clear how powerless and useless he was in dealing with the Hollow. It doesn't matter that Senshi seemed to realize the presence of the Hollow and the incantation she spoke was done in preparation for immediately stopping the giant lion like Hollow. With just a few simple words after the incantation was finished, “Bakudo no Kyu. Geki.”, the threat was frozen in it's tracks.
The reason behind the Hollow becoming motionless was pretty visible, a red aura was surrounding the entire body of the beast, it even looked like the Hollow was being constricted. Preventing the poor beast from suffering to long Senshi speaks the words Byakurai with her fingers still pointing at the lion Hollow, following this spoken word a beam of lightning shoots out of her finger tips before piercing the Hollow. Fading away the Hollow and all the souls it devoured finally return back into the soul cycle, this is why Shawn always has such pity for Hollows, for most they don't choose nor deserve to be turned into Hollows, but when they do they become nothing but starving animals trying to fill a void that will never be full. It is true that some Hollows gain some sort of sapient but that doesn't change the fact that they are still controlled by a very primal hunger.
Giving the freed souls a moment of peace Senshi finally turns to Shawn before asking him her own question, actually, two questions. The first has a simple answer and so Shawn begins to tell her it, "Why and for what reason you ask? Hmmm, well the simple reason is I need to become stronger, I can't be so weak that I have to watch those I care for die again, and Kido is one way I can increase the amount of situations I can be ready for. To answer the last question I would have to say because of all the people in the Soul Society I have heard of how you struggled to earn the strength you have and that is what I want from my Sensei, simply because I am weak and you are someone I look up to, you even opened my eyes to how much more I can gain from Bakudo than Hado." Letting all of that off his chest Shawn just has to wait and see what his new Sensei will do with the information he gave her.

The demonstration was short lived, something that she could go through and display easily enough. However, his display and reasoning for wanting to learn was something she took into consideration, as she lightly shakes her right arm out, gazing upwards to meet his gaze. "Then if that's the case...You need to make sure you're strong enough to protect and save yourself first. Otherwise, you'll end up as another casualty." She says in a demure tone, as if knowing from some form of guilt, or previous experience.
However, she didn't seem to want to dwell on those dark thoughts anymore than need be. "To ensure that you're as prepared as possible. Truly as much as possible. Utterly, and absolutely as much as possible, I'll ingrain all of my knowledge, and my techniques into you." If he was here to learn, she was here to teach, that was her way of thinking, and she seemed dedicated to the cause.
Though, she seemed to lack a sort of liveliness. Perhaps something was missing, as Shawn would come to see in the coming days. She had come to share with him knowledge of various spells she was able to get her hands on in sealed parchments. She would invite him to eat with her, to which he might find out that she didn't eat meat, and that she ate relatively simple meals for herself. He might have seen her seem rather demure in that period of time. By the end of the days, he'd be free to leave, return to his barracks.
To back to his own duties. He spoke of struggle, to gain strength. Senshi had come to realize that indeed, she had struggled considerably, far more than one would have expected. However, she had come to find that instead of struggle, Senshi had come to become the woman she was because of suffering. It pushed her, pushed her to the point of breaking, shattering, or otherwise, and she was still around.
Senshi might seem as if she wasn't showing Shawn the capabilities of Kido to its fullest extents, its raw forms of power, and what it truly looked like in the hands of a master practitioner. However, of course she didn't. After all, it would set a bar that was too high for him to pursue in immediate terms. It would have him set a standard for himself that would become a burden. However, on one particular day, on one he'd come to seek training, he may come to see the redhead and her large blade. Looking out the wilderness and the calm it had to offer.
To which then as the ground rumbles, and the extended neck of a Hollow bursts from the ground, it lashes out like a whip, attempting to devour her with a single chomp. Its fangs glowed crimson, as if coated in an ominous red energy, and as it closes in, the redhead thrusts her hand out. As it collides with its mask, the head explodes, blasting backwards as it sprays blood into the air, the head and body colliding to the side. It was likely the first time he'd seen a Kido, assuming it was that was so aggressive.
Perhaps the first time seeing such a Kido without an incantation.

"Then if that's the case...You need to make sure you're strong enough to protect and save yourself first. Otherwise, you'll end up as another casualty." When Shawn hears Senshi say this to him, he lowers his head slightly. This is a fact he was afraid of, this weakness isn't why he wants to go through losing more people. He must get strong, he must do as much as he can to increase his personal power.
Almost as if Senshi could hear Shawn's thoughts she speaks yet again, "To ensure that you're as prepared as possible. Truly as much as possible. Utterly, and absolutely as much as possible, I'll ingrain all of my knowledge, and my techniques into you." A fire would burn in his eyes as he listens to his superior talk, he was ready for the long road of training. "Yes Sensei!" Verbally confirming to Senshi that he was indeed ready. Not long after that he would head back to his Barracks for the day, however, it was planned to meet up with her for training sessions.
As the days come and go where Shawn works with his new Sensei, he slowly learns more about her. She would bring parchments to teach him, using all off the knowledge he assumed she could to help him learn things. Though she seemed to hold back whenever she wanted to give a demonstration of its power. He wasn't sure why she would do that but he trusts his Sensei, thus he continues to learn as much as possible.
He did, however, finally witnessed her use Kido with much more power. He was going to meet his Sensei near the Wilderness, it took an hour or so to get there but he made it in a reasonable time. He started to reach the top of a hill allowing him to spot Senshi not to far away. From the ground not to far from the tree lines a Hollows head shoots out from the ground whipping out to eat his teacher whole. Without much effort Senshi lifts her hand and instantly explodes the head violently spraying the area with the blood of the Hollow. The body slowly fades as Shawn jogs up to his Sensei.
"Sensei! Are you ok? You quickly dealt with that Hollow before I could even react to it." Slight concern would be in his voice as he legitimately wonders if his teacher is ok. Waiting for her response he would scan the rest of the tree line for any other potential threats. If nothing else pops up Shawn will once again put is total focus on his Sensei, realizing how powerful she actually is.

"I'm fine." She spoke simply, though as Shawn came here today in the wilderness. Senshi had brought him because she wanted to display to him destructive techniques. Ones that would not be fitting to try in more civilized places. "Hado. The art of destruction." She declared. She focused her effort on the ways of the spiritual arts, as her body was not gifted as other Shinigami were. She was not a powerhouse like Kaen was. Nor was she as skilled a warrior as Celes.
She was a caster. "I've decided to show you the power of Kido. Not just its utilities. But it's power. Why it is an art. And how devastating it can be in the hands of a skilled practitioner." He seemed concerned about her for a moment or two, as she clapped her hands together. Gathering her mental energies. "That Hollow that you saw was an example." Closing her eyes for a moment or two, she remained firmly rooted in place.
"..."
He asked her if she was okay, and frankly, she did think about that in depth more often than not. Honestly, it was hard for her to figure out. What did okay even mean anymore? "That admiration you have. That softness in your voice. It reminds me of someone I once knew." She seemed to reminisce, and with it, she remembered the last pupil she took on in a deep and meaningful way. How he looked at her with similar eyes, a similar tone of voice. Honestly. She felt a deep and inner sense of guilt.
How he aspired. How he grew faster and farther than her. In ways she could hardly ever imagine. Yet, he seemed so distantly far away. How she failed him as a master, and how he was now gone forever. In truth, Senshi's life was full of horrible things. Tragedy. Though, to see someone still hold a bit of reverence for her. It felt wonderful. Perhaps a sense of nostalgia rushed into her in those moments. She tried to think about what to teach him. What to show him. How not to repeat her mistakes.
"I'm not a good teacher." She said. Slowly, she felt her gaze drop towards the floor. "The only thing I can guarantee. Is that I care for the people around me. That I'll try to impart something." In truth, she felt as if perhaps her lessons were sporadic. Maybe filled with things that she was rushing along. Maybe she had done the same with Ranth. Maybe she'd destroyed him with her lack of guidance. There were so many maybes. Her eyes looked tired.
