Mizu had to admit that her ....venture into the Vandereich had been scary, beyond scary. But she had gained an ...appreciation for the quincy to some degree. She had kept the shell. The body that she had extracted from the downed and slain quincy. The notion that she was occupying a Vandereich corpse was interesting, and as she ran her fingers over her hands, she noticed that they were quit e a bit more calloused than hers had been. "Fair enough, I guess." She murmured as she headed outsidefurrowing her brows just a little as she noticed how bad it had gotten.
she had intentionally put herself near a rampage. Hollows in the area were going wild, and it was in a remote enough location that she figured she wouldn't have to deal with any shinigami for a while. Even from where she was, she could see them tearing into the local humans, a few of them acually fighting off the beasts. She took a slow, deep breath as she curled her fingers, forming a bow. Her own fake bow. She sighted down the notch as she formed an arrow and drew it back. It felt so very strange to wield. She aimed for one of the hollows. It was surreal. Was this what it was like for them? She remembered many a time when an arrow from a quincy would come in from nowhere.
She took a moment, and slowly released her breath as she fired. The arrow would feel exactly like a Quincy's reiatsu, even though it was secretly her own as it sliced through the air, burning brightly before it slammed into the hollow from the side, busting a hole where it's lower jaw had been and causing it to drop, screeching in pain as she felt that wealth inside of her. She never DID know how her powers would turn out sometimes. Her perfect mimicery had unusual results. Her Zanpaku'to spirit. Her Ressureccion. And now her Bow. Of course, an arrow obliterated a target, killing them on the spot if they were hit in the right place. As it turned out. Her arrows consumed the soul through some sort of link.
She dipped behind cover, namely a partially destroyed building as she could HEAR the hollows react, several bala and cero roared around her, sweeping the area as they tried to find the 'quincy' that was hunting them. She took only a moment to examine her arrow. The very tip of it was in the shape of one of her teeth. She couldn't help but smile a little bit. It was fascinating to see her own abilities evolve. If only Toru were here. Her boyfriend. It was weird to think about it. She was actually with a shinigami. Well, he was under the impression that they were. What would he think of his precious Mizu? Wielding a faux quincy bow? She peeked around the corner and then raised her bow once again. "Number two..." She murmured, and stopped.
A maw LUNGED at her. One of the hollows had found out where she was. FUCK. She gritted her teeth and BACKED off, her entire body on edge as those teeth snapped mere inches from her face and she let the arrow loose. That toothed bolt sliced clean through it's thick foreleg as it screetched at her. It's paw swiping up and almost raking her side as she vanished, slithering into an ulcera, the look of confusion so very clear on it's face as she then spilled into reality behind it. Three arrows notched before she empted the bolts into it's spine from behind, it's body HOWLING out as it dropped, fading into nothing as she felt it's reatsu bolstering inside of her. Two.
She could see theothers had spotted her. The shine of charging ceros she could see very well from the distance. Double shit. She vanished, her form blurring as those ceros cored out the section of the building she had been hiding in. Briefly she thought about what sort of dangers Quincy had to face. It was fascinating to think that they were so endangered by hollows, and yet sought them out. She tumbled out of the door just as a large serpentine hollow squared up on her. She panicked, without even thinking about her bow, she opened her palm, a tiny, miniature bow forming in her palm before there was a statatic KRAK as she fired a bala right into it's face, the hollow popping as one side of it's face was obliterated, screeching as it did so.
She backed up, continuing to keep her distance as it repeatedly struck at her, that one remaining snake fang flashing in the air as it sought to snag her. Again and again she fired those little bolts of Bala at the creature, popping sections of it's thick, scaly body before finally it collapsed onto the ground, gurgling as it's tail twitched. She was panting just a little, smiling a bit to herself as she produced an arrow, closing in slowly, eyeing the monster as she looked for a spot to shove the arrow. But it suddenly THRASHED again, that tail whipping out! She gritted her teeth, just as that tail slammed into her and shoved her back, slamming into a wall and coughing a little as the hollow got back up, two more small spider-like hollows moving in to begin shooting little spikes at her, thumping into the concrete.
She turned, rolled and then move dbehind cover once again as she could hear that snake regaining itself, all while those two little mites continued fired spikes at the thing she was hiding behind. Very annoying. She took a deep breath, calming herself as she notched an arrow and then fired it up into the air, it arched, and then dropped down. She didn't hear any screams. "Well...I guess it'll be a while before I'm a regular robin hood. Was worth a shot." She murmured, unable to help but smile a little ruefully at herself as she spotted a hole in the ground. A Basement? It looked perfect to hop down into. Right... She took a slow, deep breath, peeked around the corner, and then FIRED! She shot off another toothed arrow, the bolt slamming into the snake's head, finishing it off just as she leapt and tumbled into that hole.
OOF. She slammed into a table, a fraction of a second for impact before it gave, busting as she fell through the wooden furniture, making her entire body sting as dust was kicked up from the landing. Not the soft landing she had been hoping for, but sadly she didn't quite have THAT much protag luck. Antag luck? Whatever. She winced, looking up at the hole she had fell through. "Not gonna be going back up there..." She murmured and looked around. A staircase? Hmmm.... She thought about it, her body was feeling a little better. Especially from her arrow consuming another hollow. But this was a LOT harder than the Quincy made it out to be. She needed to retreat. Maybe wait for them to lose interest before attacking again?
"Better than nothing...." She murmured as she brushed herself off, rising to her feet and letting her bow dissolve as she began to quietly head down those stairs. With any luck, the hollows would think she died with the fall. After all, Quincy didn't usually retreat while they still had breath right? For once her cowardice would pay off in spades as she headed down into the darkness. An hour. Maybe two? She figured that would be plenty of time. In the meantime, she supposed she could always try to get used to her bow a bit more. Not like she had much else to do, right?
2 Class 4 Hollows consumed.
