A break. simple enough yes? Orina had been feeling.....uncertain. All of the time she had been spending around Shinigami, and honestly she had been feeling...unsure. On one hand, she continued to hate them with an unbridled passion. But she had been faking her entire existence for so many days in a row that she was beginning to wonder if she believed it! Where did her shinigami life end and her normal one begin?! She felt that it was becoming a bit too hectic, and so she figured: Why not take a bit of time off? As it turned out, it was alarmingly easy. All she needed to do was volunteer for Deployment in the world of the living. She was, essentially, on Konso duty. And since there was no ACTUAL tracking of the souls, not only that but Soul society's sincere 'concern' for the world of the living was so lax, she could essentially do whatever she wanted.
So, she found herself deciding to be a different race for a while. She did....briefly, consider simply being herself. Her Hollow in all it's glory. But this would only draw attention. If there was a hollow rampaging where she was stationed, wouldn't that draw questions? Alas she was forced to use her Shell, even further weakening herself. But not without benefit. On the sheer psychological scale, it was rather...liberating! The most important think being that she actually felt...like she was being under cover! She was hardly able to be herself, but the important part was that she was not a shinigami.
Even as she walked through the streets and found herself admiring the sites, and adjusting to this....different type of false body, she could somewhat relax. No more uniform, no sword at her hip constantly keeping her on edge. It was....nice and quiet. That is until her reiatsu sense suddenly kicked on and she felt....something? she let her head tilt, her brows knitting together. What a strange reiatsu. She made her way over to the direction she could sense the strife and was a little...caught off guard. It was quite a ways away, away from the city, she actually wound up using shunpo to move in. But what she saw was....she would have never expected it.
The first thing she noticed were the bows. Those brilliant constructs of light that shone as the humans zipped around. She was barely able to follow them as they fired arrows at one another. There were four of them! Well...alive at least. Many others littered the ground, and she felt herself....hungering. She shivered just a little, and looked up in time to see the mas of quincy in white uniforms promptly empty a salvo on the more casually dressed spirit monks. Several of them dropped, burning holes in their chest as the remaining non-uniformed archers suddenly turned and ran, the uniformed ones in hot pursuit.
For several long moments, she knelt down beside one of those uniformed ones, a little unsure of what to do. This was a dangerous place but...it had been a while since she had eaten. She looked down and noticed that the one beneath her was still quite alive. Weakly, they looked up at her and let out a gurgled little groan. They felt weak, even for a dying person. One of their eyes wazs missing, an arrow clearly having clipped the side of their head. She couldn't help but grin. And she saw the look of sudden fear on their face as they saw that smile. "Relax sweetie." She assured them. She reached down, and gently held her hand over their mouth.
Suddenly they began to struggle, panic as suddenly they tried to pull away. And she allowed just a tiny bit of her reiatsu to spill from her palm, a bala fired into their mouth and they convulded, eyes rolling into the back of their head as she popped a hole clean through their neck. She watched them struggle, and that one arm raised, slapping at her shoulder weakly in that final act of defiance. And then the body went cold, and she saw it's plus spill from their body. Just in time for her real form to slither out into the open air. All they could do was blink, stunned in their freshly-expired state before she chomped down and tore into them.
Sadly there really wasn't much left around her. The quincy were alarmingly ....thorough. More often than not their pesky arrows destroyed the soul, so if they managed to kill eachother with their arrows, there was nothing left to eat. She quite literally had to find survivors. Watching them as they began to struggle. One woman in one of those white uniforms actually managed to get up. Orina had been so focused on eating them that she didn't even see the bow unti it was too late, and she FELT that arrow skim by her, and then nail her Shell right in the chest. She paused and saw the look of satisfaction on the woman's face. "M-monster. I k-know, That's y-your real body!" She declared. And she could not help but shake her head.
There was a KSSSH! The sudden hiss of water as one of Orina's lances of water shot clean through the woman's throat. They suddenly stared, astonished, amazed at the new injury as they collapsed onto their back. They gurgled, but made no noise, and their spirit left their body, screeaming as Orina chomped down on their soul and swallowed it whole. What a stupid, stupid woman. But....it wasn't an entire bust. After all, she had an idea. With the injury to her own Shell, well...the chest was an issue. Even if she fixed the lure, the blood all over the front of her clothing was a problem. She'd have to hide it for now. However....she looked down to the freshly-slain quincy. She smiled to herself, a that thin thread spilled from her fins, sewing up that pretty neck and stitching them over.
A Temporary Lure would be fine, would it not? She couldn't help but chuckle to herself as she opened up the body's chest, and poured her reiatsu in, slowly converting it into a suitable shell. She began to speed up as she sensed the fight off in the distance was concluding. She manged to spill into that open chest, and then there was silence. Darkness. She paused, finding her...comfort zone. And then those new eyes blinked open. She wiggled her fingers. Her toes. And then looked down to her unbuttoned uniform. Ah right, tits out. She buttoned it back up. She'd had to open it in order to get at the gal's chest. The uniform was not as....open as a shuhakusho. this would do for now.
Grunting, she got up to her feet and brushed herself off. First thing was first: she had to get out of this uniform, and then she could find some place to work on her other Lure, and get a proper set of clothing. At least, that WAS the plan, until she heard a voice behind her. "Well well well, looks like you lived after all, Shelle." The voice almost made her jump out of her skin, but practice being surprised by random shinigami had tempered her. She let out a little squeal (Wow, this was a different voice. She hadn't been expecting that), before she looked over her shoulder and looked to the man. "Y-yes!" She stammered out.
Almost immediately, she saw him frown. "That's yes SIR, Solat Shelle. Get up, we're heading back to the silbern. Four dead, BUT, we did manage to capture thee of them. As for ours..." He glanced uncaringly at the bodies of the dead Soldat around, mixed in with the non-uniformed quincy and shrugging. "Not our problem." He chuckled, and his shadow suddenly blossomed, blooming into a big black flower of a portal, several of the other Soltat filing in. It wasn't for a few seconds until she realized. He was waiting for her!
Oh fucking FUCK! Soldat?! Silbern?! She had no idea what this bloody was. But she knew one thing: This was an absolute mess. Putting on a firm nod, she saluted the man. "Yes Sir!" and then promptly walked into that dark portal, even as the man shook his head after her. These soldat always annoyed him, especially the stupid ones. But even so, he did glance at her behind as she walked past him and into that darkness. She felt it was....smothering. Even as she walked out, she couldn't help but be ovewrwhelmed. The place was....e...ENORMOUS! She was blown away by the sheer size of the silbern, and as the portal behind her closed, she felt a hand suddenly palm her behind.
WHOA! She tensed, and then looked with alarm over her shoulder. She saw the man smirking at her, clearly bemused with her reaction to his gesture. What the fuck kind of organization WAS this?! An explosion answered that question for her off in the distance. What looked to be a training ground as one of the other soldat fell o the ground, missing a considerable portion of their body. She could vaguely make out the words of a lecture, of not 'winding up like that fool'. This was a VERY different environment to the Sereitei. She almost didn't notice that her superior officer was staring at her until she suddenly caught his gaze. A gaze that was looking her up and down.
She hadn't even realized how similar the new lure was to her old one. Not really blue hair, but it was black, with just a slight tint to it, she couldn't even tell the shade, some kind of blue...maybe purple? The hair was a bit longer, and she was a bit less curvy than her normal lure. But that didn't seem to discourage this man. "Come with me, Private. Let's celebrate your first successful 'recruitment' mission." He smirked, and she felt herself pausing, her mind snapping from him, and then back to that dead soldat over in what she assumed was the training area. She gave a light nod and promptly followed along. The other PRivates in her group simply turned their heads. they seemed desensitized to...ALL of this! She had never imagined she would actually MISS the gotei barracks. But here she was.
It was a bit of a walk to the man's quarters, and it was a treck SHE made in relative silence. As for him? He began to speak, monologue more like. He chuckled to himself at his own jokes, talked about his own missions, how that one had gone fairly well. How it all didn't matter because...after all: It was all in the name of his majesty! She paid little to no attention, rather she was trying to figure out how to get her fake-ass the hell otu of here. she could try to Garganta out, but could she get away with that? She almost ran right into the door when it seemed they had met their destination, and the man gave one more lecherous look at her. That grin spread across his face. Lovely..
"I know you're probably a little shellshocked. Don't worry. You just need to follow directions. We go in. We come out. You go back to your barracks. You'll be all nice and set before it's time for dinner." he assured her. She couldn't help but be a bit ....amused. And she felt a smile on her new body's face, one that caused his brows to raise as she walked right on past him into the room. she heard that low, intrigued grunt from him. Not a sound she had ever heard from a shinigami. well...unmuffled that was. When he closed the door she kept her back to him, gently unbuttoning that uniform for the second time that evening.
He promptly began to make his way over to the bed, grinning to himself as he watched her, specifically the peek of pale shoulders as the top dropped down her jacket dipping just a little, opening to the sides as he let out another of those disgusting chuckles of his. "Well well well. Maybe I'll have to keep you a little longer than I thought!" He snickered, just before that dull BOOMF sounded, that Bala blowing a hole through the back of her jacket, and popped clean through his face. The reiatsu was quincy in nature. Just like an lure or shell, it did a flawless job of disguising her attack. Even as the filthy male slumped back and suddenly began tearing weakly at his face.
She didn't see his other hand move until that knife had formed. for just an instant she tensed, and suddenly jerked to the side as that thing whizzed past her shoulder, slamming into the wall behind her and promptly ate it's way through. Some sort of corrosive substance on the blade promptly began chewing through the wall, and she felt a slight crackling on her shoulder. Her uniform melting away, burning her shoulder as she felt the spot where it had nicked her, just barely making it to her skin before it stopped and she gritted her teeth, feeling the spot where it had started to eat her Shell's flesh. He was a fucking fighter!
Well wasn't that annoying. She turned and raised a hand, the burning crackle of a Cero Bestia forming in her hand, a serpent slowly coiling in her palm a the energy collected. She reached down to his partially unzipped pants and let that growing serpent of energy jam in between his legs. He suddenly sputtered, blood spraying from his messed-up face as that charging cero burned it's way in. She let that smile widen. "I think I'd rather catch Dinner." she informed him before that serpent tore it's way up through his groin and blasted it's way through him, the bed, and into the wall behind him.
Even as he slumped to the ground, she couldn't help but frown, rolling her shoulders and preparing to open up a garganta. She was halfway through when she noticed that....there was nothing? She waited.... the seconds ticked....the minutes. And....nothing? For a second she was confused, and then.....it dawned on her. Out in the training yard. Was this...NORMAL?! she took several long moments to consider, until a nice, slow smile began creeping along those pretty new features. Just as that chest opened up and she let her head slide free in order to use her tongue and slip that soul into her maw, dragging it into her stomach as she retreated back into her lure, doing everything she could to suppress her reiatsu in the meantime, until once again, she was buttoning her top back up and looking around....thoughtfully.
It was another few minutes until people actually arrived, several individuals who paid her almost no mind as they began measuring the damage to the room, and one of them walked right up to her, brows raised as he took one look at the corpse and shook his head. "Well well well. A Lieutenant. Not often we gotta clean up one of those. This guy was a real asshole. Congratz Private. You must be somethin to kill that motherfucker. The stiffs will probably be around to question you later. I know you're new but don't get too worried. Chances are you're more likely to get promoted than told off. There's only one thing his Majesty cares about." He nodded to the hole she had created.
"Results. Go head to the mess hall and grab something to eat. You've earned it." He instructed her with an amused smile. She was.... she was still very shocked with all of this, something that caused another little chuckle from him as he patted her shoulder and went back to surveying the damage. She asked one of the other soldat the way to the mess hall, and they simpyl told her. She supposed they probably thought she was in shock, and that suited her just fine. Ten minutes later and she was eating a burger, staring down at her tray, amidst a group of other soldat, all gossiping away at the blast they had heard from the officer's section of the barracks.
She had no idea who this woman was. This body she had snatched. She didn't know where she was. What happened to her Lure. Well...her Shell. Her lure was still something she could conjure if needed. But her Shell? she was going to have to track that down. But first, she needed to find out who the hell's body she had stolen. And figure out what the hell kind of place this was. She took another bite, and glanced off to her right, watching as a group of the younger soldat girls talked excitedly amongst themselves. She caught a word here and there. And none of it meant much to her. This was.... a big fucking pickle. But it was not beyond salvaging. Once she found out the identity of this new body, it would all be a cakewalk. After all, she had done this before.
All she needed....was time. And a fucking bandage for her shoulder.
