Hibiki accepted her proposition in making the first move, much to Frost’s surprise. Perhaps her outburst had changed the manner in which he acted and spoke to her. Such a thing wasn’t her intention but she could understand. He wanted a date so why ruin his chances further? Miranda grinned, obviously missing the joke he gave. “Cloud Nine? Never heard of that one. Gonna have to look that one up when I get back”, she thought, her body tensing as the healer made his approach. She prepared herself to throw up her guards to shield her from the incoming attacks, and she knew he’d be prepared for them.
What she would have to look out for in this engagement was the man’s kido usage. Granted she had only seen him use two spells, Byakurai and Sho respectively. She’ll have to prepare herself to mitigate the usefulness of those spells. Byakurai was well suited for long-range engagement and Sho could be used in a wide array of situations. In her spar against her lieutenant, Dragon-sama had fired a couple from his knees, even if it were more commonly fired from the fingertip. Miranda lowered her guard slightly and loosened her posture. She would have to get in close.
As Hibiki closed in Miranda stood in wait, body crouching low, ready to spring. The first opening she’d see would be the first one she’d take advantage of. Miranda watched carefully for her moment and as Hibiki wound up for his strike. She knew her moment was here. With her fists balled tightly she’d move in, taking long strides in to close the distance. Unfortunately, she misjudged once again the nature of his attack. Like all of the others, there was an underlying motive at play, yet she hadn’t quite figured it out quite yet. Hibiki had stopped about an arm's length before she had initially thought.
The result was a glancing blow to the side of frost’s cheek, the tough weave of his gloves rubbing raw the soft flesh it darted past. She winced, her jaw clenching at the burning sensation. Hibiki then stated the activation of his kido, Sho, which fired just off behind her. He… he said the incantation. Why? Was… he taking it easy on her after her outburst? Miranda glared at the man, the man she was so… close to. She could smell it, this familiar aroma. The smell of sandalwood was heavy on him along with a hint of something much sweeter. Vanilla perhaps.
Her right leg would slide between Hibiki’s own and she’d duck and aimed to drive her left shoulder into his chest, following it up with a solid punch from her right arm to his gut. With all things considered her form was still considered that of a novice, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t make the best of which she had. The man was taller than she, but she was strong and her punch was well placed. Should the blow connect her arms would wrap around him firmly. Should that be successful she’d lift him from the ground and over her head, colliding him headfirst into the ground behind her. A suplex was something she’d always wanted to perform but never had the chance. Better late than never.
