Sitting upon the top of the leaning tower was the man known as Gen Shizuo. He hadn't had anything to do in Las Noches because Asuka hadn't gone on any missions recently. So, as a result, he decided to go to the Human World and explore to get over boredom. He had left silently, not telling anyone of his plan to go explore. His nature was that of a recluse, and so it was expected that he would come here alone. He liked to be alone most of the time. He didn't have to worry about being afraid of anything when he was alone. Everything had a possibility of being something that could take his powers and his life. He couldn't have that. Oh no no no.
Gen just sat there at the top of the tower on the side opposite the leaning edge, just staring down at the ground below. It was a very long drop from where he was. It was a wonder why he didn't feel any type of fear sitting on the edge like that. Gen was too busy immersed in his thoughts to feel any caution or fear about falling. Plus, he could just create a platform of reiatsu to stand on if he did fall. Gen just sat there, wondering why this specific place was so special. "Humans seem to love this place. Why? I don't get the concept of attractions much. Why is it that people go to a place specifically to see one attraction? It makes no sense..." Gen couldn't figure it out. He was so much into his thoughts that he probably wouldn't notice that he would be having a visitor soon.

Meanwhile, Alkaid was on the opposite side of the arrancar, looking over the edge of the tower at him with a fierce look. She had received a report that an arrancar had been spotted in the area and she had decided to deal with it personally. Afterall, writing and filing reports was a task she could leave to her underlings. Gauging the arrancar through scouting and combat was something of a specialty to the female captain of the Onmitsukido. She had kept her reiatsu level down to the lowest she possibly could and had been watching the arrancar for a few minutes now. Normally, one would be wrecking havoc in the human world or plotting to do so. However, this one arrancar was just sitting here, gazing down at the humans below. It did not make much sense to Alkaid but it peaked her interest that an arrancar was simply relaxing ontop of the tower of Pisa.
She, of course, really had not been to it before but did not find much enjoyment of the site. It was just a tower that looked like it was about to fall over and the only moderately interesting part of it was the structure to the tower. Alkaid was currently wearing an all black, head to toe, ninja-like onmitsukido uniform instead of her normal captain attire. This showed off much of her athletic and sleak body to a person but she simply decided to wear it today for personal preference. Well, time to see what this arrancar was made of. Silently, the female pulled herself up onto the top of the tower with the gracefulness of a feline. Slowly, she approached the back of the male arrancar until she was a few meters away from it. Greeting time. "Now, what would an arrancar be doing here just enjoying the view?" She asked cooly, crossing her arms across her chest. She now fully unmasked her presense, staring at the male arrancar unblinkingly as she awaited an answer from him.
Gen heard the voice behind him and he was awoken from his seeming trance. How did someone get behind him without knowing? Nonetheless, who was behind him? His fishbowl like head turned, and what could be made out as the face with that vertical eye hole there stared at Alkaid. Unlike the other eye holes on the fishbowl like head, the one that was facing Alkaid now was an actual hole. If she looked closely enough, she would be able to see the red eyes glowing within the darkness of that hole. They just stared at her ominously. A Shinigami...? His energy sensory was strong enough where he could make such a guess. Alkaid wasn't dressed like a Shinigami or a Captain, but Gen could tell. He could sense the reiatsu and he could sense its strength. Gen simply turned back around to stare down at the humans below as if almost ignoring Alkaid. Whoa, that was rude! It seemed he hadn't been ignoring her though since he decided to speak up after turning around. "Why do humans come here just to see this one tower? I don't get it. There are so many of them gathered at the bottom..." Gen said.
He then turned around and stood up, dusting himself off as he did so. The way he dusted himself off, it was as though he didn't care that Alkaid was there now. It was slow and slightly drawn out, as if he didn't even recognize her rank. He was acting too casual. Too nonchalant about it all really. "You're a Shinigami...you must understand the humans here more than I do. Why do they do such things?" he asked her in that soft, echoing monotone voice of his. Why was he treating Alkaid as if she wasn't a threat to him at all? He was just being so casual, so nonchalant as if nothing mattered now. Even going as far as to start a conversation with her. Gen didn't even make any attempt to draw the blades crossed on his back. Surely, Alkaid would be interested by this. Even the many clothes that Gen was wearing would probably be weird. Most people didn't wear two scarves wrapped around their neck like that and a white fishbowl on their head. No one really wore a suit with so many T-shirts underneath. What a weirdo. That was probably Alkaid's main thought at this moment. That was usually everyone's first thoughts about Gen at first sight. Gen just stared at her through that fishbowl like mass on his head while the tufts of his black hair that stuck out blew in the wind.

Interesting. Very interesting to be exact. She normally found that an arrancar would straight away prepared to engage a shinigami when she had come across one. This one however was unlike any arrancar she had come across before, laid back it seemed. Hen then asked her "Why do humans come here just to see this one tower? I don't get it. There are so many of them gathered at the bottom...You're a Shinigami...you must understand the humans here more than I do. Why do they do such things" Why was he so interested in the humans taking interest to this structure, she really didn't care for it much but she had decided to answer the male. "I would suppose because this structure is unordinary." Alkaid answered him, cautiously drawing closer to the arrancar to get a better view of him. This was no arrancar she had seen before, rarely would one have what seemed to be a cycloptic eye or dressed as he did. Wait, no, not cycloptic. She looked closer and saw that there were a pair of red, glowing, eyes that were about the size of a regular person's. So this arrancar had three eyes? Definably an interesting arrancar. "Them, humans, are simple and ordinary, most likely desiring to find interesting sites and unusual site sites such as this one. Unusual, the ordinary, these things attract normal beings." She finished, unfolding her arms and resting them at her sides.
She was quite fascinated by this arrancar, she pondered silently what he looked like underneath that head cloth he was wearing. Perhaps he would take it off in the near future, or Alkaid could simply remove it if she really wanted to. But she was not childish, she would not succumb to her selfish wants that easily. "One of the reasons I am glad we spiritual beings cannot be seen by the simple human eye." She admitted, looking the Gen's normal eyes, her black eyes fixate don his. "If we weren't, I doubt they would be caught up in this tower and would stare at us all day." She stated with a simple shrug. So far, she did not get a threatening vibe off of this arrancar. Not unlike the others normally did. Was this itself actually a warning? Alkaid did not know but she was staying alert and keeping her full attention on Gen, trying to predict what his motives would be.

"I see..." was Gen's response to all that Alkaid had said. He continued staring at her through the hollow mask fragment on his head. Being so close, Alkaid would probably be able to see his actual eyes within the mask fragment. The red glowing eyes just staring at her as though looking right through her soul. What she didn't know was that the eyes on the fishbowl like helmet covering his head were not his real eyes. She wouldn't know that the fishbowl like helmet on his head couldn't be taken off either. It was the fragment of his mask that remained once he had become an Arrancar. The only way it could be removed so that one could see Gen's face was if he willingly had it split down the middle and shift to the sides of his head. Even then, it wouldn't be removed completely, only moved aside for one to see his face. Since it was his mask fragment, it could never be removed from his head. With that said, no one would probably ever get to see Gen's face unless he let them, but that might be never because Gen rarely trusted people. He was afraid of everyone, and for that reason, he wore all of those clothes and concealed himself so much.
There was an eerie silence as Gen continued to stand there, eyeing Alkaid. Then suddenly, he broke the silence by speaking again, his soft monotone voice barely audible without the echoing that came from the fishbowl like mask fragment. "I thank you for answering my question nameless Shinigami Captain. I think I will be going now...I don't sense any threat from you...." Gen stated as he turned away, taking a step towards the edge of the structure. "Miss Asuka said that Shinigami were usually prone to attack us Arrancar and that they usually seemed strong. I wonder....that Shinigami wasn't even dressed like a Captain." Gen muttered to himself, though Alkaid wouldn't hear the whole thing since his voice was so soft anyway even with the echo. She would probably only catch bits and pieces, mainly about the part about seeming strong, which would cause further misconstruing of Gen's statement. Gen had just said that Alkaid was no threat to him even though she was a Captain. She would probably misconstrue what he meant because of the monotone with which he said it. He had actually meant that he hadn't sensed any ill intent from her, though she might not realize his true meaning. Gen hadn't realized that what he had said might be misconstrued and he continued walking away. Most likely, if she misconstrued it and grew angry about it, she would attack. Gen had good enough senses and instinct to escape one if she did, but for now, he wasn't thinking too much about the Captain standing behind him anymore. "Those humans truly are interesting....I wonder how I used to be one of them..." he spoke aloud, thinking to himself. He had a habit of always speaking what he was thinking out loud. That would probably further infuriate Alkaid more, that it seemed like he was now ignoring her by first walking away and then forgetting about her presence completely, though Gen wasn't doing any of it purposefully.

She had a duty: to defeat any arrancar that enter the human world. Now, she had a reason to attack him: he was walking away from her! "Oi." She stated coolly, loud enough for the male to hear her. She suddenly speed in an arc around him in a swift movement at her top she, she reaching behind him if he turned. She did after all have almost twice the speed as he did and was almost maxed out in speed by a mere 50 points, so she was awfully close to moving in a blur. Gen though would be able to see a brief flash of black move past him, since one would turn around if one was spoken too. If he did not, the result would be the same. Right when she had moved into position, and standing on the air ground, Alkaid lashed her right leg forward into a fierce snap kick, planting her boot against his head with the attack. The attack would either land against the back of his head or against his forehead, depending on where he was positioned though, if it connected of course though it was pretty fast. If so, the attack would drive the arrancar back towards the center of the tower's top, Alkaid taking a horse stand as she held her hands out infront of her, her left side facing Gen with both of her open palms facing him. "I am Alkaid Akane, captain of the second division and the Onmitsukido. You will learn better then to turn your back on an opponent." She growled, her reiatsu flaring through the area. Gen would be able to now accurately estimate her level; it obviously being one of a captain's. Now, he had to face her in combat.

"Oi!" Gen stopped in his tracks upon hearing Alkaid's voice. "Hmm?" he asked as he turned his body halfway around to answer. However, when he did turn halfway to look at Alkaid, she was no longer there. His instincts told him she had moved somewhere near him. But where? Experience told him opponents usually came from behind when trying to hit an opponent with a surprise attack, and so that was where he looked towards now. He lifted his left arm, seeing the blur from the movement of her leg towards his head. His left forearm blocked her snap kick, however, due to his hierro, which had reiatsu strength that was almost four times Alkaid's own reiatsu strength, he wouldn't feel a thing. He moved his left arm to the side, knocking away Alkaid's leg at the same time. This would probably offbalance her, but that wasn't really his aim. He was just trying to get some distance from her for that moment.
He jumped back after sliding his left arm to the side and returned it to his pocket. When he landed, he simply stared at Alkaid. "What did I do wrong? Was it something I said?" Gen asked cluelessly. He really didn't know what he had done. He just stared for awhile before he finally introduced himself in the same way Alkaid had done."I am Gen Shizuo, Fraccion to Miss Asuka, the Noveno Espada. If your attack on me now is because I am an Arrancar, then so be it. I won't hold back in countering you for your prejudice." Gen said. He continued to stand there with his hands in his pockets though, just staring at Alkaid. That was how he fought. He analyzed before he made a move. He could have countered Alkaid after blocking her kick, but he chose to analyze her more before making any sort of attack. He needed to know more about this Captain other than that she was fast. He knew that her reiatsu wasn't stronger than his though since her kick didn't inflict any harm to him. He couldn't base everything about her solely on those two known things though.

"Your mistaken, Gen Shizuo, I fight you for the sake of learning you. Id rather talk through my fists." She smirked casually at the mall The hell did she mean by that? Oh, thats right, speaking through ones fists. This was how Alkaid got to know most people, through combat. It is simply how she did things to become acquainted with a person. Before letting him question what she meant, she was speeding towards him, moving in random zig-zag patters as she drew close to the arrancar. When she came into striking range of the mall, she swiftly bent her knees, dropping her head height so it became leveled with his chest. When she did this, she dashed to the right side of the male as she aimed her left fist for his chest.
Timing her punch, she dashed back so as soon as she made contact, she disengaged from her opponent so no grab could ever occur. She was meagerly testing the male to see what he was capable of. She released upon the male a series of swift, snap kicks to his thighs, Right after these kick, she attacked with several vertical punches, four aimed at his mid section and the other at his head. After the punching combination, she leapt up to drive her knee into his jaw and at the same time, smashed her elbow down towards the top of his head. Each attack was linked together, with no break inbetween any of them and they were lightning quick, though they would do only do a bit under average damage since she was a female. After the knee strike, she would land on the ground and continue the frontal assault, lashing out with controlled punches and blurring kicks to the chest and gut. Of course, her offense was simply a hindrance, for his hierro was indeed powerful and he probably would not be affected by the attacks.
"Never underestimate your opponent; no matter how weak they way seem."
"I see..." came Gen's reply to Alkaid's statement. He watched as she then sped towards him, zigzagging as she did so. He drew one of his blades as she approached, feeling no need to use his second just yet. He didn't let her zig-zag movements confuse him by trying to predict where she would come from and he simply waited until she was near him. He had good enough instincts to realize an attack was coming as she stopped in front of him. He used a sidestep to avoid her fist, however, while doing so, he was also drawing his blade. He let it drop from his hands while side stepping so that it fell towards the ground and the chain would fall onto her outstretched arm. He then lifted his left leg and kicked the falling blade so that it came back up towards him for him to catch and while doing so, would wrap around her arm. He figured there was no way for her to avoid this as the momentum from throwing a punch like that and having it miss would make it so that she wouldn't be able to pull it back on time. Alkaid was even planning herself to pull it back when it made contact, though Gen didn't know this. Since no contact was made, her fist would still be coming forward, and that arm still outstretched due to the force and momentum behind it. This would allow the chain to wrap that arm.
Now, with the chain around that arm, Gen jumped back out of the sidestep, pulling on the blade he now held, and since the chain was connected to his second blade, it pulled Alkaid's arm with it. This overstretched the arm, offbalancing her. She'd most likely faceplant from that, which meant that her series of kicks and further attacks would be negated. Gen then flipped into the air and landed behind Alkaid, but more to her right. He pulled on the chain again and swung it over his head so that, if Alkaid was still on the end of that chain, she would be swung over his head and over the side of the tower, most likely slamming her body into the side of it. "So is the reason for all Shinigami fighting the Arrancar to learn about us?" he asked her while jerking the chain around, trying to continuously slam her body into the side of the building with each jerk of the chain.

Alkaid was surprised by the fact Gen had accurately dodged her attack without making a direct counterattack against her. She had wrongly anticipated that the arrancar would slash or punch at her when she stopped to duck and punch forward. He had correctly evaded her attack and had used his own zanpakuto to trap her, in which she did not realize that the handle of his zanpakuto had a chain attached to the head of it, too late to make precautions against it now. Being taken off guard by the trap, her instant reaction was the grab the chain with the hand of the arm that the chain was in. Still, Gen had taken the time to leap back and yank on the chain to offbalance her forward, which in turn did occur, Alkaid falling forward onto her front. However, her combat instincts told her to break the fall, bringing her free hand forward and braced her fall with the tips of her fingers, standing on the balls of her feet which would make her be in a one handed push up position. Since he had her trapped and had yanked once, she anticipated that he was going to do it again, ready to use this against him. Upon feeling the pull begin, she too pulled on her end, swinging her free arm forward to grasp farther down the end of the chain and pulled too, directing her momentum forward for at the male, sliding her hand back to where she was trapped and slide her hand under it and lifted to give her just enough room to retract her arm out from the trapping chain.
Now, with all the extra speed and free from the chain, she was flung forward directly at Gen rather then being swung around and slammed into the side of the building. Adding her own speed to the momentum she had acquired by traveling across the airground, in the blink of the eye she was crashing straight into the arrancar full on. No damage really would occur though, then both just being sent rolling across the top of the tower. It was meant to basically interrupt any other actions that would occur. After a few seconds of rolling, they would come to a stop opposite eachother and rolled up into a crouching position, unsheathing her zanpakuto. "Your mistaken, i fight to learn how you are as yourself, not as an arrancar. The others, i cannot vouch for. Wail, Taifuu!" She stated, ending the statement with her shikai release name. Her zanpakuto flashed and split into a pair of golden, short blades, she holding them with the handles facing the ground. A roaring gale suddenly flared from her shikai, racing towards the arrancar at immense speeds as the sound of wind whipped through the area.
The Captain slammed into him as he was going to make his leap into the air. This caused him to roll across the ceiling, but he stopped himself from reaching the edge and propped himself up on a knee to stare at the Captain. "Learn about me? Why would you want to learn about me? What makes me so special that you would go out of your way to do so?" Gen asked her. He wouldn't get an answer though as she was already releasing as he asked his question. She's releasing. That means I better get serious. Miss Asuka told me about Shinigami Captains. She said they were strong, and even with a shikai, they could still do damage.
Gen knew that by releasing shikai, Alkaid was getting serious. So, he would do the same. He had his release, but still. He didn't like revealing that to everyone. So he would have to just do his best for now to fight against her shikai in his released state. Since she was a Captain, she probably had mastery over her shikai and even if Gen could deal with that, she still had Bankai. Gen hoped she didn't use her Bankai though. He didn't think he'd be able to handle that one.
He suddenly felt the reiatsu surge from Alkaid. An attack was coming! Gen charged reiatsu into his feet to form a green aura underneath the soles of his shoes. He wasn't going to be able to sonido out of this one in time. The cero blasted out, sending him to the right. He had angled his feet so that the cero would blast him in that direction like that. The propulsion from that allowed him to avoid that wind gale coming at him. Without it, he wouldn't have been able to. Then, while in the middle of that propulsion to his right, he flicked his right hand forward, sending two bala at Alkaid. One to her upper right and the other to her lower left. They shot out in a way so that they split and moved to those sides about three or four feet away from her. That would cut off both of her escape routes.
He then kicked off of the ground as the propulsion ended, using the momentum from that to move towards her and come at her with a mighty slash across her chest with the blade in his right hand. He had drawn his second blade while he had propelled himself, but chose not to use it yet incase she retaliated. The Bala were meant to distract her while he came in and slashed. They'd distract her and she'd have her attention on avoiding those while he would come when she was dodging and slash. His Bala were pretty large due to his reiatsu strength, so they'd probably block her view while they split so that she didn't see him coming until he was there slashing.

Alkaid watched the arrancar closely, highly confident that a sonido wouldn't work to get out of this one. Then, she saw it, a green glow coming from the soles of his feet. "Their glowing green? But the only kind of glowing from arrancars comes from..." The answer then came to her with one word: Cero. This arrancar was able to use cero from the bottom of his feet? Truly unorthodox in this captain's opinion but this just further drove her onward to combat him. She ruled out any chance of attacking below him, he could just blast her with his foot ceros if she did so. Only one logical solution: perform a powerful frontal assault against him. She spun her blades around as she moved her arms behind her, the blades now held with the handles facing the ground as she was slightly bent forward with her knees partly bent. She watched as the male arrancar continued soaring back, the iron man-like arrancar flying around with his ceros to propel him. Then, he was making his move, firing two balas at the female it seemed.
The female captain had to make her move now, while Gen was still using his ceros. Her shikai blades roared with wind that propelled her forward. She traveled through the air in almost a super-man motion, laying flat on the air as she soared at the male in a blur of movement. With her current position, and slim figure, she would travel between the two balas that were aimed to distract her, though by now it was pointless. Alkaid slashed forward with her right blade, colliding with Gen's as the two would meet in a clash of blades. Alkaid's had tremendous force from momentum she currently had and would actually drive the arrancar skidding across the ground for a couple of seconds as she struggled to try and overpower him. Though she had a slight strength advantage, it would only put her on equal strength of the male. Seeing this, after a couple of seconds of power struggling, she tore herself away from his blade, slashing with her free blade. The blade unleashed a powerful, horizontal, blast of wind at the male, threatening to send him soaring down onto the building.

As soon as Alkaid had released her shikai, Gen knew that he had to get serious. She was a captain, and with shikai, she was deadly. It was the first level of a zanpakutou's releases, but in the hands of a captain, it was assumed to be deadly. That was why Gen was no longer going to simply observe Alkaid. He had to attack while observing. He couldn't just sit back and watch. Not with an opponent like this. Alkaid had seen through Gen's attack and was now rocketing towards him. Luckily, he was already slashing with the momentum from the cero he had used to propel him out of the way of the wind gales backing him. That made it so that when the two blades clashed, the two were at equal force. Gen was able to stand his ground while the two blades tried to slip past one another. The steel from both of them forming sparks that shot off.
Gen was pushing his longer blade forward over Alkaid's own shorter blade when he suddenly saw her pull back. An attack was coming! He was guessing that she was trying to gain some space to make another attack. That earlier wind gale she had sent wasn't something she could send when in a blade lock like that. So Gen guessed that she was going to get some room to launch another attack. Then, he saw her arm lift and that was when he acted. With a flick of his left hand, he shot a bala into her wrist. The bala would knock her hand away so that her slash would miss it's target. Not only would it do that, but it would probably make her drop her blade as the explosion from it sent second to third degree burns across that wrist and hand, making it painful to move. The bala was instantaneous and without charge time, and she was already in midslice, so avoiding that was close to impossible. The wind blast that rocketed out would instead move past Gen, but he wouldn't be there when it did.
With a Sonido, Gen positioned himself behind Alkaid with a stab aimed at her right leg. His left arm was held out so that the blade pointed forwards. He wasn't attacking with it, just trying to trap Alkaid so that she wouldn't be able to escape in that direction. She'd probably see it as an attack and try to dodge. She was already in midslash when his stab was coming in, so she couldn't simply turn or dodge by just jumping away. Plus, if she tried to jump back to avoid the blade on her left side, she'd be jumping into his stab. If his stab connected or not, his next move was a roundhouse kick into her right side with his right leg. That was only to catch her off guard if she dodged his stab and knock her away with her right side bruised.
Gen's Remaining Reiatsu: 1590 (-50 for Bala, -100 for Sonido)

OOC: Oi oi, to keep things more interesting, how about we each create a couple of npcs, you two hollows, me two shinigami, and we fight them instead of eachother since no doubt we'll get bored of it. XD Or we can together fight an enemy of both the shinigami and arrancar so we have to team up. Up to you really.
IC: Gen was anticipating one thing wrongly about Alkaid's Shikai: was that she had to move her blades to unleash its wind abilities. Sure she could direct the wind a certain way if she slashed, hence the reason why she normally does perform slashes upon releasing the wind attack, but this did not necessary mean it had to be done. Alkaid had not done this because she was still gauging the male arrancar, analyzing his strength. So far, from both the clash and before hand, she was able to assume that the two were on equal physical strength but she had the major speed advantage. However, from her analysis, he had enough sensory stats to track her movements if he could see them but this did not mean he could react accordingly. Now she only had to find out his level of reiatsu strength. Only then, would she be able to form an accurate battle plan against the arrancar. It was of course going to come down to her speed.
Seeing as the female had room to see what her opponent was doing, she saw the flare of reiatsu on his wrist, along with flicking motion, obviously being a bala. Obviously, a bala was much faster then a cero and even though it did not have a charge time, the technique still showed signs of being performed. Swiftly, Alkaid angled her blade to the left so her wind blast was meant to miss the male, blasting her to the side in a blur of movement to avoid the bala. It was close, but the wind blast was doubled the speed in which Gen could move so her actions would enable the female the just barley avoid the attack. Having seen this, she took to note of the signature of the bala, since it was now in her energy sensory range. She could instantly tell that his reiatsu strength was immensely potent, much more stronger then her own. She now could not relay on her wind blades, or even her shikai blades, to slice into the male. She would need to cause more upfront blunt damage to him if she was going to win this battle. With this knowledge, she was ready to take the offensive to the male.
After performing the avoidance, she observed Gen disappear from the scene. Sonido, of course. Now her instincts were going to come to play. A sonido from a far away distance could only mean a few things, the obvious being an attack. Where from, she could not possibly know until he appeared and she was not willing to take that chance. Midway through Gen performing his sonido, Alkaid performed her own stepping technique, Shunpo, her target destination being only a couple of feet from her current spot so it took only about a split second to reach it, disappearing from sight right as Gen was finishing stabbing forward. A split second later, she appeared above him, facing downward in a nose dive position and was slashing with both her blades, a current of wind surging from both of them and blasting downward at the arrancar. She was close enough that when she slashed, normally, her blades would of sliced into the top of his head. However, the wind would reach Gen just before her blades met with any part of of his body, simply blasting him downward with intense force against the rooftop. A little payback for tripping her earlier. The force was enough to form a small crater around Gen, but it wouldn't damage him really, pain him a bit, but not damage. After the attack, Alkaid flipped forward and stood on the airground, looking down at the male arrancar as she positioned her blades behind her.
