Physical Description:
One would think dying and going from world to the other would change a person, especially if said person was run over by a car at that, but despite this Anthony has remained basically the same person since his life as a human. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and with a pretty average build he really comes off as a typical American, assuming you don’t think of an overly fat individual when America comes to mind. For Anthony in particular his physique is somewhere between fit and lithe due to having enough muscle definition to be noticeable but not so much to be unpleasant or even really toned. More so just giving more definition to the various muscle groups and adding a little more oomph to their size. This is most easily seen in Anthony’s upper body and back. This being in part due to his broad shoulders and londer arms when compared to the lower half of his body. However the remainder of him more fits towards the lithe side of the spectrum with slight if any muscles definition, even his legs look more smooth as far at the muscles groups are concerned.
Focusing more on his facial features the first thing that attracts the eye is Anthony’s hair. Normally put in either a bun or just hanging around, it’s sheer length has it extending past his shoulders with the remainder resting on his back or his chest. While it has a mind of its own it’s never curly or poofy, more often than not it remains straight preferring to remain wherever gravity would have it fall towards. This makes his overall look appear more messy and unkempt even if Anthony attempts to tie it up, which always shows a few strands poking around and about in several spots. Arguably making it look worse unless he does a small bun or ponytail on the back of his head. Despite this however it remains soft as ever and holds a sheen only well taken care of hair can boast making it look more blonde in the daylight or more brown in the evening. In truth though his hair is dirty blonde with a few streaks here and there of both blonde and brunette.
And if you thought his hair was done there you’d be wrong, he actually has a decent amount of facial hair also however unlike his unkempt and mess hair it’s actually well trimmed. Enough to be defined but not so much to be scraggy. This follows his jawline on each side and ends with a small goatee at his chin with just a bit following on the underside. Surprisingly though he has no mustache and prefers to keep that clean shaven. His facial hair follows the same hair color but at a couple shades darker same as his eyebrows.
For the remainder of his face his features are well defined displaying his cheekbones, straight nose, and forehead whenever his hair allows. His lips are thin and pale but subtle in how long they extend to their edges, almost making a full blown smile seem like it should shatter his face given how small his mouth seems normally. The glaring contrast to all this is the scar over the left side of his face. Starting just a bit under his hairline and going diagonally down through his eyebrow, eye and ending at his facial hair. It’s a bit gnarly with a pale complexion compared to the rest of his skin and large enough that anyone can see the jagged line. If one looks close enough however one can see it extends down under his jaw and into some of his neck. However the line itself is very small and thin so finding this is hard even for those who’ve seen him often given his hair normally hides it. A smaller less noticeable scar given the first one’s size goes from just over the right lip and travels down his lower lip ending just underneath it. This scar however is clean and thin, almost unnoticeable unless one is looking for it.
And last but not least are his eyes. A bit larger than one would think they hold a soft but childish sheen to contrast his otherwise adult body. In a way the dark blue hue with its black edging almost looks like it’s holding onto a sea of hopes and dreams that weren’t ever really let go. However this dark, almost sapphire blue changes from time to time depending more on Anthony’s emotions and can go so far as to become almost steel in color when he is under extreme duress. By that same token while under intense positive emotion they change to a light sky blue instead. Occasionally his eyes and eyebrows get partially covered by his bangs when he’s not tied his hair back usually though they go just back the lower eyelashes and serve only as a nuisance if he’s paying attention.
Despite his being adopted into the noble house of the Kuchiki's Anthony retains a lot of his past life’s preference in clothing. Normally wanting to wear a grey long sleeve t-shirt rolled up past his elbows, designer black skinny jeans with a simple leather belt and well taken kept tan leather working boots. On occasion he will wear a nice button black button up t-shirt with the top couple buttons open to reveal some of his chest accompanied with dark jeans and the same working boots. When he needs to dress formally however or be “becoming” of a noble house he will wear the appropriate garbs or his shinigami shihakusho. But normally if he can avoid this he will at all costs prefering to be in more comfortable clothing that the human world considered nice.
Last but not least are his accessories. Anthony has a few distinct accessories, the first and foremost being his wrist bands, large and black leather bands. There is never a time he isn’t seen with these even while in his uniform as he can and will hide these somewhere on his arms when necessary. The next is a silver square chain necklace with a dreamcatcher with an Ibis skull in the center. The horns, eye sockets and the nose holes are all ebony black iron while the dream catcher is made of antique gold and the skull itself of platinum. This alone is probably the most expensive thing Anthony owns and ironically was something that was brought from the human world for him as it was one of a few things he remembered. Last are just a couple of black hair ties that are worn with Anthony’s leather bracelets. Hardly noticeable but there just in case he needs to ties his hair back.

Dislikes:
1. Being weak
Anthony isn’t one blinded by power but even he can admit it sucks to be weak. Whether that’s in an area of study, a skill, or just being physically/spiritually weak. It’s frustrating beyond belief especially when compared by another to someone else and labelled as “lesser” or “lower”. For Anthony under no circumstances will he let himself be called such or remain such if he feels weak.
2. Sunny days
Anthony is much more a cloudy weather kinda guy. The sun just knows how to get in all the right areas to be annoyingly bright and retina burning. At least during cloudy days the sunlight is dimmed to a reasonable level and even better its normally accompanied by a chill which only serves to make the day that much better.
3. Training
Ironic considering that Anthony despises being considered weak by another’s or his own standards. One would think this is his go to then to change that but in reality Anthony doesn’t enjoy training normally. Once in awhile he’ll find something enjoyable about it but normally it’s work and sadly Anthony isn’t one to want to work in his free time. It’s called Free Time for a reason.
4. Consecutively Losing
If there is one thing that will piss off Anthony it’s losing multiple times in a row. This can be over the course of a day or just in something in particular but if things get past a reasonable amount of losses (2 or 3 depending on the situation) Anthony is going to steadily get more and more pissed off until he ultimately explodes. In his mind there should be no reason he should lose that many times in a row.
5. Arrogance
Anthony has a tendency to confuse pride with arrogance but it doesn’t really matter either way. If he thinks someone is going overboard about themselves he’s going to call them out usually in private but potentially in public if he’s on a bad day.
6. Quick temper’s
There’s any number of reasons Anthony could give for why he doesn’t like his or others ability to quickly become angry. His biggest however is that he doesn’t feel in control of himself and believe it brings out another side of himself he doesn’t want to become. Something akin to a beast or a hollow that just lives in a state of rage against one thing or another. Worse yet when Anthony is angry he becomes even more upset because he’s angry which in turn only feeds his overall anger. It’s a cycle one that will come to bite him in the ass as it has already multiple times prior.
7. Being alone/isolated
This reason alone is Anthony’s original reasoning for why he made his deal with the spirit he came across. Even after his death it’s one of his biggest fears because at least when he was alive the spirit and his companions were his friends. Or at least would talk to him when others wouldn’t. Now that he’s in the Soul Society with his still flaring temper there comes a time more often than not that he feels alone despite being around others.
8. Needless Complexities
What this means is Anthony doesn’t like things that are needlessly complex. Political maneuvers for those of noble houses, complex economics, math, things like that. Just things that to Anthony have weird rules or dealings that don’t inherently make sense. It's far easier for things to just be kept simple. Why make things be made more complex than they have to be?
9. Lack of Soda in the Soul Society
Even nobles houses lack soda. Anthony would like to think he’s fairly laid back about what all he wants or needs in life. But to not be able to get a soda even as a NOBLE is a tad ridiculous. Especially given the rumors of how advanced the Soul Society can be given the ominous squad 12. Worse yet instead of soda or even water most around the nobles serve tea. TEA. Boiled water that has no flavor at all. The madness of it all.
10. Being Rushed
Anthony as a human lived at his own pace. He was smart enough to find necessary loopholes in almost any situation to let him do things at his own pace. However once in awhile he’ll have some outside force that will push and push until eventually he has to follow their pace and do something the way they want to. This usually ended up in him giving half assed work or just making simple errors he wouldn’t have otherwise. And thus spawns his intense frustration with being forced to act or follow someone else’s lead.
Likes:
1. Soda
There is no point in Anthony’s life that he didn’t enjoy soda. Even as a child he’d raid the fridge for these things. And you best believe that didn’t stop just because he died. No instead he hordes them in his room making sure to bring some back after every visit to the human world. His personal favorite is coca cola but he’s not terribly picky about what soda he gets if any is available.
2. Necromancy
While there was no realistic way to replicate this vein of magic it still held a deep appreciation for Anthony as a human. The mere fact that he could work with the dead and could even go so far as to prevent his own just amazed him as a child. Hell even the undead made are just interesting since technically if it can die, it can be brought back. Which is where every necromancer worth their salt lies. In their allies they bring back. Even as a shinigami, a “god” of death, he still holds a great appreciation for it even if it's not realistic even then. In his case this extends to respecting those that have passed on and those who reside in the rukongai as they are also technically “dead”.
3. Power
As much as Anthony tries not to be power hungry there’s a little part of him that is. And namely its for the fact that those WITH power can do some incredible things. In the case of his family member Kyomei, an incredibly gifted person without a zanpakuto even. Or even the captain commander. Incredibly imposing people but also just incredible people that can do things Anthony can only dream of. This even extends to those of other organizations by Anthony giving respect to those who are powerful even if they aim to kill him.
4. Animals, especially canines
If we’re being honest Anthony is absolutely that guy that will break in tears over an animals death. Dogs, especially, because like the spirits that hung around him in life they are some of the only ones who could help make Anthony feel less lonely. Even in death he has had a coupe pets, and even better it seems they stick around a lot longer as well in the Soul Society. Anthony currently owns a German Shepard called Smokey. It took some convincing but his family allowed him to have it and with it being well trained there hasn’t yet been a major problem.
5. Tattoos
A really interesting appreciation given Anthony isn’t very fond of needles yet tattoos are made entirely by needles. There’s just something about them that Anthony enjoys, especially when they are well done. Anthony secretly wants one although he’d have to keep it somewhere it wouldn’t easily be seen being he’s a noble and all.
6. Human World
Despite all the bad that IS in the human world there’s a great deal of good. Whether that's in nature or just the cities humans have made. It continues to amaze Anthony to this day especially when you compare cultures from one side of the planet to another. Thank the heavens the Soul Society is a “global” force because that means Anthony is going to be able to visit a great many places. And that alone makes Anthony giddy.
7. Being a lazy bum
Sleeping in, lounging about, and doing absolutely nothing. Just relaxing is one of Anthony’s favorite things to do. You’d think as a noble he was going to be able to enjoy this but he was more busy as a noble in training than when he was a normal human. As such he relishes even more the free time he gets to just relax and walk around the Seireitei with his dog. Anthony will if he can help it, plan for times throughout his day to be lazy during.
8. Helping others
When Anthony can help someone to him it means he’s needed. Sure there could be others but it’s HIM someone asked help from. Gives him the warm and fuzzies inside for that reason alone. Another aspect is that it can help ease up that feeling of loneliness and potentially make a friend in the process or help him progress forward. There’s any number of things that helping another can do.
9. Looking drop dead fabulous
Alright so maybe drop dead fabulous is a bit much but looking good is something Anthony enjoys. He’s not someone that needs the most expensive of the expensive clothing given he prefers comfort over style. But even still looking half decent or just good is a plus in his book. He won’t go out in public until he’s satisfied he looks alright.
10. Feeling powerful
It’s hard to disagree because almost everyone wants to feel power in some aspect. Have some level of control in that which is around them. Things of that nature. Which is exactly what this points to. When a plan works out well, when Anthony has people beside him, when he remembers he was fortunate enough to be apart of arguably the most powerful noble house, things like that. Things that don’t have to be said but just remembered. And if they are said, just for a moment, that's alright also. However he doesn’t want that to define him, he just wants to experience these moments of feeling powerful and in control, namely with himself more often.
Flaws:
1. Quick to anger
Though Anthony works on this, it continues to be one of the single most difficult things to overcome. It's so encompassing and honestly fulfilling to take out ones anger and frustrations against someone, it's hard not to enjoy it at some level. And for Anthony it can take almost nothing which is the worst part and then he’s someone he doesn’t want to be. Someone or something that just aims to hurt. And while Anthony’s all for repaying one’s dues there’s no reason to be like that, especially not so often. But god help someone if they say something about his dog or someone he cares/respects. He’s going to start a fight then and there. No questions asked.
2. Childish naivety
Anthony is still a child in some ways. One specific aspect is his naivety. He just doesn’t know a whole lot, from his human life or his life as a shinigami. And because of this he’ll take what people say at full value. Unless of course he has specific reason not to trust someone but until then Anthony is going to look to people as trustworthy.
3. Arrogant
So Anthony is a tad hypocritical in this. While he despises people who are overly prideful or just braggarts he himself likes to indulge a little when he can. Which to him is fine because normally he feels he’s earned it whether through fortunance or hard work. To make matters worse he can also confuse the two at times and thus this can be seen negatively upon both the household and himself.
4. Being Independent
So like every child at some point they want to be themselves. And Anthony is the same. It’s great that he’s apart of the Kuchiki and he’s never going to resent that but sometimes that’s all people see. Or at least that's what he thinks. And so he tries to be more individualistic which can sometimes end up with him failing to honor the family he’s apart of. Let alone the fact that he wants to actually do good for the family that took him in.
5. Constantly compares himself
Comparison can be a good thing at times. It shows the flaws one has in something vs another as well as the benefits. However the same cannot be always said for people, especially when comparing two people who are in different stages of their lives. Anthony constantly compares himself to people like Kyomei Kuchki in an attempt to emulate them and become more similar. This however doesn’t always follow through well because he’s not them. At all. He can’t always follow their mindset, thought process, or even actions because it’s opposed to him. Not to mention it also points out a lot of flaws, or what he feels are flaws, with himself without giving an answer as to how to improve.
Habits:
1. Bring his dog wherever he goes
Anthony as mentioned earlier is a sucker for his dog. And as such if he can he’ll generally smuggle/shamelessly bring Smokey with him wherever he goes. It doesn’t matter that it’s the Squad 1 barracks or the a noble house meeting. That dog is coming with him, hell Smokey even joins him to the human world when it doesn’t involve a mission. Unless there really is no way around it he’s going to bring his dog with him. Thankfully Smokey is well trained if nothing else!
2. Eavesdrop on those around him
This is more of less on accident to start and continued purposefully. Anthony generally pays a good deal of attention to what's going on around him and as such conversations he hears he listens into. It doesn’t matter it’s private he will listen in, though part of this is that he can’t just turn off his hearing so by default he has to listen. Other times this does help him out however as he can get some good information this way.
3. Take Midnight walks
Much to his family’s dismay Anthony is actually very much a night owl. Preferring the company and presence of the moon and its soft glow to the sun and it’s intense brightness. He does take Smokey for good measure more often than not but 9 times out of 10 he’s much more active at night than he is during the day.
4. Napping on his dog
Smokey has been Anthony’s pillow or stuffed animal since Anthony was first allowed to have him. To this day no matter where he’s sleeping, be it the floor or his bed, he’s going to have a comfortable place to rest his head. Hell his dog half expects it anymore by laying down anytime he see Anthony getting dreary or when he starts yawning.
5. Paying respects to the dead
This stems from Anthony’s adoration of Necromancy and from his belief that those who use it should respect those they resurrect. Now granted he can’t actually do this but to those of the rukongai for example, wandering human spirits, or even those who have died in the Soul Society Anthony will pay respects. In the case of those who are “alive” such as wandering spirits he will chat with them and give them the utmost respect. To Anthony this is a must and as such he never misses a beat to be respectful to those that have died.
6. Thumbing over his necklace
Similar to what people do with their rings Anthony feels over his necklace. It's his one remaining tie to the human world given he wore it constantly when he was human. Thus he takes the utmost care of it and will not leave anywhere without it. To further this point it’s usually on display as the front most of his clothing no matter the occasion.
7. Write down ideas
On his person is a small notebook. Nothing special except that it has Anthony’s name on the front and that it has a table of contents detailing what idea he has is on what page. Currently it’s half filled with various and random ideas. Most of which are just random thoughts but some of them turn into small goals for him to accomplish. The ideas pop in at random so at any point in time Anthony will write them down.
8. Pat somewhere on a person
Anthony is very physical in his interactions with friends or those he’s in charge of. This normally comes off with him patting people on the back, the head, or if he’s feeling particularly childish a boop on their nose. The boops however are usually reserved for his dog but once in awhile it happens to friends.
9. Turn a comment into a joke
This can be playful, mischievous, or even spiteful depending on who he’s talking to or what the conversation is over. Normally however it remains playful with Anthony just posing a ridiculous question to the other. This comes with an exaggerated tone and normally a wide shit eating grin to help make it obvious he’s playing around.
10. Talk to Smokey or himself
Yes, Anthony will actually have a full blown conversation with his dog. He’s even had fights with him from time to time. Of course Smokey doesn’t always answer and Anthony realizes he can’t really understand him. To Anthony it's just another method of letting out his thoughts to someone who will listen. Hell sometimes he has conversations with himself so that he can have a thought fully expressed. Either way he’s very vocal and isn’t normally one to have to keep quiet unless the situation requires.
Fears:
1. Losing Smokey or his family
Like already mentioned Anthony is a sucker for his dog and he feels great joy in being apart of the Kuchiki's. Losing either is always a fear whether that's because he can’t live up to the Kuchki name and subsequently gets kicked out or Smokey eventually passes on. It would destroy him as that means he suddenly doesn’t have that person(s) around him anymore and feeds into his big fear of being alone again.
2. Remaining Weak
Though he didn't realize who he was talking to Lorien as well as Shinobata have shown him that becoming physically disabled doesn't mean he is weak. It means he has to change his fighting style and his entire mindset to fighting. While this is still being developed he has developed a far more imposing fear which is for him to remain as weak as he currently is. There's all too many reasons he could remain and it he doesn't develop an entire new way of life, basically, he's going to lose a lot more than just his legs and hearing. And that's not a trial he wants to endure.
3. Amounting to nothing
Anthony has a few goals in life but one of his biggest is to actually become someone. Be respected and renowned. Its both fitting of a noble and also just something he wants to become. If he can’t achieve either he’s fucked up or he’s currently fucking up and only serves to show he’s failed at the one important thing in his new life he’s meant to do.
Goals:
1. Get Bankai
Such an easily identifiable goal but one that’s absolutely more difficult to achieve than just wanting it. Anthony wants this on a personal level so that he can actually become the powerful person he feels he can be and so that he can grow into a person everyone can know. And for most people in the Soul Society if you don’t have bankai you're not terribly important. Exceptions exist but they are far and few between as far as Anthony is concerned.
2. Becoming as strong as Kyomei
With his new predicament Anthony is no longer able to try and become physically stronger. His only means of becoming strong is by following a similar path to the current head. Kyomei is a master of Kido and spiritual arts in general thus Anthony now must do the same to stand up to others and maintain his other goals such as becoming Vice Captain of Squad 1. Good thing he had a lot of reiatsu to begin with because now he has to refine it and make it more potent than it was prior to his fight with Zahra.
3. Own a personal property
This is really so he can stop following the rules of the Kuchiki's somewhere. At least in his own house he can tell people to piss off and be far more relaxed. Hell even his dog would probably be much happier with him in his own house. It would also allow him to maybe have another pet or two if he wanted but it’s difficult enough to convince others to allow him to have one companion, imagine if he has multiple. Either way a residence of his own bought by his own money is very much a high end goal for him.
4. Find the elder spirit
So amongst the things Anthony vaguely remembers from his past is that he interacted with an a very old spirit. An old man in particular. While he can’t remember the conversation or the actual aftermath he remembers being tutored somewhat so he could interact more smoothly with the spiritual world as a human. Its among his top priorities to figure out who this old man is and to thank him in almost any way possible for the abilities he helped grow from Anthony. It’s a debt that needs to be repaid and Anthony intends to do just that when he finds him again.
5. Become Vice Captain of Squad 1
Ultimately yes Anthony would prefer to be a captain and in his most far off dreams the captain commander if he ever attains the level of power necessary. But first and foremost is being Vice captain to Squad 1. It allows him to work with the Captain Commander as well as other captains and has been known to be just as demanding a job as other captaincy positions. He hopes that by growing into this position he can grow further and become someone respectable and powerful.
6. Getting Revenge on Zahra
She took his legs and his hearing from him. Potentially costed him his life in more ways than he can imagine. Curtesy of Lorien's words of wisdom he's going to get stronger and come after her. She will be crushed and more than likely killed if not crippled in return for what she's done to him. This is a new drive that will fuel his path for growing into a stronger person.
Alignment: Neutral good
Overall Personality:
Anthony is a mixture between a child and an adult. His actions toward his dog, Smokey speak volumes of how he hasn’t lost his inner child but also speak towards how he hasn’t developed past the child mindset. Meanwhile having been in the Kuchiki household has forced him to at least on the surface and occasionally to a deeper level of his psyche be an adult. It’s an odd combination that somehow Anthony can play off of and actually makes him unique even amongst nobles though he doesn’t always see that. However to those who see it however it can either be endearing and a charming quality or it can be aggravating and annoying. Despite this balance Anthony attempts to strike however there are specific differences that can be noted depending on who's involved.
On the usual however Anthony tends to remain upbeat. He’s not an optimist as he recognizes that not everything CAN be the best. That some things can only really be a crapshoot between which decision is the less shitty in the end. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try to keep spirits up either with his and Smokey’s shenanigans or his playful banter with everyone around. To other members of his squad even he makes an attempt to be as helpful as he can and trying to persuade them to forget he’s a nobleman. They all joined squad 1 and are directly under the captain commander, what's really separating them at that point because birth is certainly not the most defining feature. His temper tantrums however do come around often enough however to have him labelled a hot head turning away those who’d rather not deal with his anger and instigating fights with others who refuse to sit idly by.
Needless to say these fights don’t weigh on him well for multiple reasons. He wants to be, craves to be someone who can live up to the name Kuchiki. And currently doesn’t feel he does. If anything he feels he’s got some hefty shoes to grow into and that he needs to grow more as a person to even attempt at walking in them. Which is where he turns to inspiration, Kyomei and the Captain Commander. Both have imposing and demanding positions that need someone who can handle all their bs. While they are leagues ahead of him they all started somewhere, they both were in his position at one point. And to Anthony that reminds him that with enough work he can absolutely make it to the top. It’s only a matter of time.
Which leads into another interesting contradiction about Anthony. He is absolutely the laziest nobleman around and yet he will also work his ass off like he won’t live till tomorrow. He does this to achieve his goal of becoming someone great and to become worthwhile. Its ingrained in his mind that he can do this, there’s no question of that. It’s merely a question of HOW he can do this. And that’s what concerns him more than anything as the how is also incredibly important because if he doesn’t successfully grow in a manner befitting his house he’s failed. And yet despite all these lofty goals and seemingly on par mindset, he’s lazy. He doesn’t want to work necessarily all the time nor fully dedicate himself in his work. He wants to enjoy life, enjoy time with his dog, just enjoy what's happening around him. Too often does he feel like there are too many who focus on their work and forget that life revolves around much more than just work. And he desperately doesn’t want to become that. He seeks both the position of authority and the freedom of the lowest ranking in an attempt to get the best of both worlds.
Despite his childish and upbeat exterior however lies a very opposite internal personality where his worst enemy is himself. He doesn’t have a mental illness but he’s exceptionally harsh on himself. It’s part of him trying to live up to standards he feels are present and necessary for him to live by. Occasionally he allows some of these to slip by as life happens but constant or multiple slip ups will drag him into a self depreciating mindset because he isn’t living up to the standards he imposes on himself. One of his biggest is being weak. He doesn’t feel he can be weak in any area, in any way. He HAS to be the best. He has to show off the best of him and the family. He needs to be the charismatic and charming leader that can attract everyone but also has the brains to know when to say something and how to direct others effectively. If he’s anything but the best then he feels like he’s failing himself and those around him.
This however is where his stubbornness comes into his advantage as well as his intelligence. He understands that time is necessary and mistakes will happen. Let alone that he can’t give up after one. Which leads back to why he feels he can achieve these lofty goals. Its BECAUSE he views them as eventualities. Not potentials. He WILL get to that point it's just a matter of time and multiple fuck ups before he finally reaches them. And the best part is he believes this about other people as well. This is also why he believes with a little help he can bring others to their best. He didn’t JUST become a noble on his own. Nor did he make it to Squad 1 on his own. He had others around that would help him. Pick him up when he was down or smacked the shit out of him when necessary. And to people in general but especially his friends he’s absolutely going to do the same and all with a smile or shit eating grin. If he can’t and won’t give up then those around him can’t and shouldn’t either depending on the situation.
Be warned however while Anthony is willing to give a helping hand to those in need, or who he feels are in need he will not help those who cannot help themselves. Or at the very least try to meet him. And in fact this will infuriate Anthony flaring his already short temper that he's known for. If one doesn't try then nothing changes. And that's a fact. Anthony at no point in his life hasn't tried something to fix whatever problem is in front of him. Sure his answers weren't always correct and sometimes they back fired in fact but he tried. He struggled and for those who aren't willing to do the same Anthony simply has no time nor patience. Thus his temper flares up and at a minimum he'll start a verbal argument or with particularly "difficult" individuals he'll drag them out to the sparring fields and start a "training" session. If he can't convince them to stop making excuses and pick themselves up then he feels he needs to show them more forcefully.
Which leads us to another important point to note on Anthony. Anthony is very open to hearing other's viewpoints and taking note of them but convincing him can be worse than an entire desk's worth of paperwork. Anthony as mentioned before is as stubborn as his German Shepard, Smokey, is well trained. He will provoke others to go to sometimes extensive lengths to prove their points and will do the same to prove his point right or wrong. Normally only ever really changing his mind after an argument has ensued and he's calmed down and seriously looked over what was brought before him. But at the end of the day if Anthony thinks something or "knows" something to be true he's going to remain as such until he chooses otherwise. In a way the only force in the Soul Society that can force him to change his mind is himself or those he respects greatly. However even those who he does respect greatly may need to be a tad more forceful at times when their thoughts extend outside of an order for him to follow. The only major difference with this interaction is that Anthony will try to remain more open minded and as respectful as possible. There aren't many things to him that he'd really go overboard on the self beatings for than if he disappointed someone he truly looked up to. God help him if that happens.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fighting Style:
Until Anthony releases he’s a fairly straightforward fight. He prefers to engage in close combat given his predominant form of fighting is through his Gladius and any martial techniques he may know at the time. These are his bread and butter given he chooses to focus more on his physical abilities and balance out between speed and strength so he’s not severely lacking in either. However he’d be lying if he wasn't somewhat reckless in his fights preferring to remain on the offensive as much as possible or when not to dodge and initiate some form of counter attack. His mentality in a nutshell while sealed is very much “A good offense is the best defense.”
However with opponents that don’t really allow him to follow such a basic path he does have supplementary kido as well as a few defensive moves that will aid him to keep up. The problem for him is he’s pretty much not able to really utilize kido given he’s not terribly strong in the reiatsu arts and more just has the sheer volume of reiatsu to compensate for it. Thus he’s pretty limited in what he can choose to use and what is practical to actually use. His overall method however turns from instead a full out aggressive front to more of a counter play. For example he’d dodge and try to use his speed more to make quick attacks that he could continue to recover from before his opponent lashes out. Or at best forcing an opening from an opponent's attack and capitalizing on it.
When it comes to his releasing however his entire mindset shifts given he cannot physically harm a person. His zanpakuto is meant to give a slow and debilitating build up until their opponent is weak and unable to resist him, just as what happens to all who come before death. Thus his going as aggressive as possible prior is useful in that if he can hinder his opponent before releasing he can more effectively use his weapon to continue hindering them until they can no longer fight back. Which is ultimately the goal unless he aims for the head in which case the goal turns into death. His supplementary kido here are god sends given they help even out the odds, especially with physically oriented fighters.
To particularly difficult opponents Anthony may even have to disregard his dagger by placing it in his sash so that he can have a free hand to interact with someone. But overall Anthony will instead go to an even slower format of fighting, stalling. It pains him on almost a physical level to change to that but it makes the most use of his release techniques given they normally need several hits to fully function. And if he should ever take a relatively bad hit he still holds the possibility to inflict the same injury to his opponent. So his entire shikai release is basically a game of cat and mouse. Can he inflict enough hits to start debilitating his opponent in one way or another or can his opponent take him out quickly/defend well enough to practically make his entire release worthless?
Upon releasing Bankai Anthony is only all too happy to return to his aggressive fighting style because with his summon he’s actually able to really make use of aggressive tactics. Every limb on it can attack and can be chosen to harm physically or spiritually depending on the situation which also means it can defend from both attacks if needed. This does demand more brain power on Anthony’s end to actually make full use of his options but with 3 limbs and a breath attack he can be a little lax on what he fully intends to do. Which leads us to another aspect Anthony can do, area control. Not just with his massive summon but also with a couple smaller one’s he can make as well as a breath attack. If he’s smart he can force his opponents to get exactly where he wants them to. And for opponents that still give Anthony a tough time this option is invaluable.
However Anthony’s summon in this form still sports weaknesses, his bindings being the biggest part. If someone can actually manage to destroy even one Anthony is pretty harshly hindered and assuming one breaks all of them he’s unable to even control the spirit anymore making it a death trap to all around. Another weakness being a lot of his techniques are still multiple hits or over time abilities. He can’t just use them as much as he would like to and even a couple have limiting factors saying when one can be used let alone a potential charge up time. While the overall summon facilitates a more aggressive format if Anthony isn’t careful he will get overwhelmed and he will be unable to reply to an attack properly.
And lastly Anthony’s final ace up his sleeve, Final Requiem. The be all end all if he can get his summon’s consent and is pushed to a point he has to consider it. He can merge with his summon or more accurately be overlayed with his summon and have it form armor and a weapon. Which circles back to Anthony’s preferred directly aggressive method but now with the best his zanpakuto can offer. Even better is that it offers some form of defense for him as well facilitating his Offense over Defense mentality. Because in Anthony’s mind he shouldn’t even begin to suffer from any attack or injury that he hadn’t taken earlier on in the fight. Most attacks from that point on should just bounce off him or just be weak enough he can tank. However the true purpose of using this is that he wants to put the opponent in a position where he can retreat or where he can kill them outright. The situation itself will dictate what the right call is and what he can reasonably do but it's just those two options. Kill or fight another day.
Zanpakutou Spirit Appearance(Optional):[/b]
Shinobata is most easily described as a collection of various skeletons. His arms, legs, chest and even around his neck are made of different parts of skeletons. His chest cavity is absolutely stuffed with them and there’s enough that adorn his other limbs that they may as well be armor really. However his hands, feet and his head are clearly defined. His hands seem more like claws with a somewhat human anatomy prior to their tips with his feet following the same manner. Except for the left hand which forms into a sharpened blade of bone replacing his hand and lower half of his arm. His head however is literally head and shoulders above the rest with almost a small necklace made of spines to display which human skull is his. His eyes are empty and in fact seem to radiate pitch black pools of darkness. And around most of him including some of his front side is a cloak made entirely of reiatsu just as black as his eye sockets.
When he speaks it’s ominous unnerving even but incredibly soft. Very rarely does this change, even when speaking physically vs telepathically the only difference is that when speaking physically one can hear the chatter of teeth and the rush of wind from him “breathing”. If one were to touch him they’d immediately notice that he was cold to the touch despite being in direct sunlight. The bones however despite the course look to them are actually quite smooth to the touch, almost like stones that have been in a river bed for their entire life. And the cape that was seemingly untouchable because of it’s reiatsu base is also surprisingly physical despite it’s emanating look to it. To others is a cold expanse, more so than how the bones felt, for Anthony however it’s soft and mild in temperature. Last but not least is his height, Shinobata is huge when he resides in Anthony’s inner world, managing to be almost 16 feet tall. However outside of it while he shrinks to about half that, managing a total of 8 feet tall with a proportionate body to match. No more, no less.
Personality:
Shinobata’s personality spans about as much as his facial expressions expand. Not very far if at all and his tone, the only indicator of emotion normally doesn’t change much either. On a normal day Shinobata will remain basically strong and silent big brother. Preferring to listen and speak when necessary as he doesn’t generally like to talk much. Especially not physically, it's far more work than he prefers to actually do considering his needs as a spirit are very minimal even though he exists outside Anthony’s inner world. Instead he prefers expressing his thoughts via actions to Anthony. These actions speak much more accurately towards his true intentions though most are fairly small and hard to notice by those who aren’t Anthony.
For example Anthony is almost never without Shinobata, he’ll walk with him just about anywhere and be within arms reach of Anthony. For anyone else looking this most likely comes off as him staying around his master. For Anthony and Shinobata it’s more a guardian and companionship kinda deal. Anthony views Shinobata as a sort of sibling given they are connected in a way no other can be while still maintaining their separate personalities. For Shinobata he views it as him being a more physical guardian and occasional companion. This is due to him understanding he is the spirit and Anthony is the main reason he exists. However he knows Anthony will not lord this over him and seeks to instead be companions. Even comrades in arms even with him as both need one another and know each other fairly intimately as it stands.
Deep down Shinobata does genuinely care for Anthony outside of “so long as he exists I exist.” He wants the best for Anthony and is in fact part of the reason Anthony cannot remember his events as a human. Shinobata even retains these so that at some point when Anthony is ready he can return them. As for those around Anthony Shinobata very much keeps his “eyes” on them in the event they are planning something. Which speaks towards his general distrust of others. If your not someone Anthony knows intimately already and by proxy he knows he doesn’t trust you. He will continue to assume the worst until shown otherwise and assuming you get his trust, all it takes is one mistake to lose it.
In fact that leads to another aspect of Shinobata, he’s very vindictive. If someone so much as looks at him, Anthony, or Smokey without respect or a minimum of indifference he will get up and he will inquire about it. One can imagine a skeleton with a weapon always on the ready is not what most people enjoy looking at nor talking with. Especially when talking with one almost sounds like talking to death incarnate. However as long as the point is made whether it’s in your face or through communication Shinobata will be fairly “docile” to others. However never make the mistake of thinking he’s forgotten what has happened. Let alone what happens with Anthony because unbeknownst to Anthony Shinobata can skim through his memories and will go over them.
Inner Hollow:
Name: Loreian Gulthar Mortiferius
Age of Death: 65
Real Age/Age of appearance: 1,319/65
Birthday: December 13th
Physical appearance:[/b]
To start simply Loreian looks like a corpse and for good reason, he pretty much is a corpse. His skin is about as grey and dull as stone with a withered rumpled look to it. To the touch it’d feel coarse and bumpy because one could feel all the muscles, tendons, and even viens. Despite this bumpy look to it however it looks as though the skin is stretched almost about to tear but it never does. It just moves around as skin normally would but in a seemingly unnatural way. His body on the whole because it’s a corpse is pretty thin however thanks to the amount of muscles it’s more like a half way between starving thin and just what a normal living skinny person would be. Another point to make note of is Loreian’s hands though he doesn’t grow any longer his nails on his hands are about an inch or two in length and are pointed at the end and razor sharp. Their color is a darker shade of his skin.
Looking at his face Loreian really shows off his corpse like qualities here. To start his hair is wiry, long and strikingly bright grey/white. This makes it stand out greatly against his skin and goes down to his upper back at the longest in the back. His front and sides rest on his shoulders. His hair however looks longer because he also has facial hair and a good deal of it. It follows his jawline, flows over his sunken lips and extends down the underside of his chin. The length of this goes down to his upper chest. The only hair that’s actually somewhat well kept, considering the state its already in, is the hair above his upper sunken lip. The hair there is much shorter in length and doesn’t go over his lips. This hair only begins to merge and grow longer once at the ends of his lips.
The next most noticeable thing are his well lack of eyes. One would think you’d just see eye sockets given he has no eyes but instead they are black pits. If you can for a moment imagine an abyss of primordial darkness your on the right track. No amount of light even if shined directly into his eye sockets ever brighten them up thus his “eyes” are the darkness within the sockets. Don’t worry though given his eyebrows actually move as does the remainder of his face, you’ll know when he’s looking at you. Especially if you feel like he’s staring through to your core even when your not facing him.
Stepping back further we look over Loreian’s clothes. If it weren’t for the fact they were all tattered it’d be hard to say Loreian didn’t dress well. As far as tattered is concerned it’s more accurate to say it’s worn, fraying at the edges, and dulled out in color. Considering he was some kind of ruler when he was alive millenia ago it's not surprising he dresses in much the same way. He has a dark blue cape that buttons up around his front, with faded tan/gold robe for the majority of his upper half. The inside of the robe’s are more like a darker tan/brown color and when one looks towards his legs his pants are equally faded and dark pants. Last but not least are his shoes, surprisingly they are the only part that aren’t tattered so much as they are worn and look more akin to what once were nicer dark leather boots. And of course one can’t forget his crown! If anything one can imagine it because it’s fairly stereotypical. Gold with various jewels encrusted around at various high points with a large black diamond at the front. This crown is in fact the only nice thing he’s wearing as he does genuinely take care of it. If nothing else one will know with one look that he was royalty just because of how clean and well kept his crown is.
Personality:
Loreian first and foremost is a clever, manipulative and a somewhat cruel being. Delighting in the suffering of those who oppose him, his rule, or sometimes just those suffering around him. If you ask him he’d swear some days just hearing people going through negative experiences sustains him. However as much as one can hate and be disgusted by Loreian there’s a reason he made for so long on the throne when he was alive. He’s charismatic, able-bodied, and is more than willing to tackle things head on while understanding when tact is necessary. His experience is honestly one of the traits that’s damn near physical with him and when he’s looking over someone or something one can almost tell he’s looking through his mind’s archive to find something on it. And most interesting of all the general traits of his personality, he’s actually very respecting of his army. This doesn’t mean he won’t send them to hell and laugh over it but like any chess player worth their salt he treats each with the care necessary even if he dislikes them personally.
Which leads us to one of the biggest things Loreian both respects and covets. Power. To him there are three kinds of people. Those who are weak, those who can become strong but start weak, and those who are inherently strong. Loreian respects those who start weak and become strong the most because that’s surprisingly close to home for him. He was once weak, hardly able to do anything let alone understand situations around him. But even now despite his residence in Anthony he manages the multitude of spirits, is able to potentially take over, and constantly grows further with Anthony. And all the while he learns more about what’s around him and what exists. So if one can come from nothing or can beat what he’d normally consider “beating fate” you will have his respect.
To those who remain weak or who started strong he feels they understand nothing about growth, life, or really at its core power. Power is meant for those intelligent enough to understand what they hold, for those capable either spiritually, mentally, or physically of wielding it, and for those who are willing to make calculated sacrifices to retain and grow beyond their current status. And if one isn’t any of those things Loreian is only all the more willing to teach them just how unfit they are for their power.
Another method to get on Loreian’s good side is to amuse him. Yes he’s a king but who doesn’t like to be amused? When someone can keep up with him in one area or another, can do something ridiculous with a beneficial outcome, or maybe their particular suffering is just something that tickles his fancy. No matter the reason if one can amuse him he’s much more likely to tolerate even those he normally wouldn’t give an audience to. But fail to amuse him or catch his intrigue and he’ll be done with you in one way or another before you can realize it. Truthfully though Loreian is easily amused even during tense situations as he’ll even try his hand at being a jokester at times, specifically preferring sarcasm and dark humor.
Lastly another interesting point to note with Loreian. As mentioned earlier he respects his army. The souls he’s consumed and if he has any physical being beneath him they are included also. In fact Loreian actually held his domain that he ruled quite close to him. For what is a king without a country to lead? Everyone is a king of nothing, to be a king of something is what people strive for. And thus Loreian shows an odd duality for those who are under his control/rule by being as good a leader as possible. Even going so far as thinking on their needs first. Though when he gives an order he expects it to be done, especially if he has a particular method in mind. As said before he was royalty for most of his life for a reason and just because he’s died multiple times now is no reason for him to stop being a ruler. He was born one, has died one, and will continue to be one until he no longer exists.
As far as Anthony is concerned he actually sees him in a decent light. Without him he’d have never had the chance to return. He might have actually ceased to exist if he’s honest. However Anthony’s youth and optimism aggravate him. To him it feels like he never considers what's actually going on around him nor thinking about how to fully achieve what he wants. Anthony however does give him insight into how those younger than himself think and prioritize so he’s not without use, especially when considering he’s an excellent vessel for him. Overall however it’s not a super positive look but as with those he’s ruled before he looks at Anthony as his own. The first in a long time at that thus even while he plans to take over and potentially consume him, he will ensure Anthony continues to exist and be somewhat prevalent at least in the inner world.
Inner World(Optional):[/b]
Contrary to what one may think with Anthony’s Zanpakuto his inner world is both brimming with “life” and stunning in it’s own way. Simply put it’s a dilapidated city, almost a fortress really with their being a couple levels that involve the city itself. As in the center is a castle that stands above all else, while lower than that is a church and clock towers, while the very lowest point is more the commoners expansive city. It’s covered in fog, bathed in moonlight from a constantly full moon and holds a chill to it that neither the inhabitants nor Anthony normally feel. Realistically it takes gothic fantasy to a whole new level and with so many connections and turns in the city it’s hard to believe one could ever know the entirety of this expanse. Even more surprising is the fact that there lies an outerwall hinting at even further bounds of this realm however the top of this wall can only be looked over in the castle or clock towers as it is massive and surprisingly solid despite it’s dilapidated look.
Even more stunning is the amount of beings that reside here. While Shinobata resides outside with Anthony there are countless other spirits and undead looking creatures that reside inside this world. Each with the appearance of doing something important to “maintain” the city despite its dilapidated state. And truthfully even in this state it’s a wonder to behold as with the moonlight it almost has a strong and eternal feel to it. However when the moon gets hidden behind the clouds one can scarcely see anything, including the beings that roam around. Appearing almost like a sanctum of darkness with small lanterns guiding the pathways in this maze of streets and corridors. Weather here varies from time to time, occasionally depending on Anthony’s emotional state as well as want assuming he’s around to will the change into existence. One state that is commonly seen is snow, soft and fluttering to cover everything in sight.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
Sealed:
Where most shinigami are known to wield katanas in their sealed form Anthony differs drastically. Anthony’s zanpakuto even while sealed got influenced by all the time spent interacting with ancient roman spirits, so it only makes sense his sealed form is actually a gladius. Weighing about 2 and a half pounds with a length of 3 feet it’s a tad larger than most gladius used at the time. It’s appearance is also pretty standard compared to how they’d normally look albeit with a few slight changes.
To start the pommel, handle, and the small guard are made of black iron. They have no engravings whatsoever on them are just smooth metal, however the handle is separated into parts. Between strips of metal is a dark mahogany wood with the wood carved to bend inward so that Anthony can get a better grip on the sword. For the blade itself it’s what you’d expect it to be made of spiritual steel. However like the steel from before it’s a darker shade of grey instead of a bright polished silver that most blades hold.
It’s sheath is pretty much the same as the swords handle. Black iron for the top of the sheath as well as the bottom with no engravings and a single band about half way on the sheath that is also black iron. The remainder and inside of the sheath itself is made of the same mahogany colored wood. The wood alone however is polished and contrasts with the blade and iron to shine some when light is shined on it. It also has a small chain and clip from the top of the metal to the single band in the center of the sheath. This allows Anthony to carry it on his sash without worrying about it dropping.
Shikai:
Similar to his sealed form Anthony’s weapons remain under ancient roman weaponry however instead of just one now it’s two. The weapons in shikai are a roman Pugio and Spatha however their material from which they are made is now only marginally with metal and predominantly bones. To top things off they are partially see through with distinct outlines giving the overall form of the weapon with Anthony’s reiatsu radiating off them. This radiation looks as though his reiatsu is being blown off before fading away once it reaches about an inch off the blade.
For his Spatha in particular it’s a tad menacing as it’s main guard is made of a goat skull with it’s spine serving as the handle. The spine itself follows the same idea as the handle from his shikai except now the bone is the metal and the cartilage is the curved wood. The skull itself looks identical to a mountain goat with the blade coming through the mouth and extending out to 42 inches past the teeth. It too is also made of the same spine however where the handle was meant to be gripped the actual blade itself has no cartilage as looks more akin to the actual vertebrae having been merged together and then sharpened considerably on each side meeting up to an ever sharper point. As for the horns of this goat head this is where it gets a tad interesting, there’s two sets of horns following two different patterns. The first set curls around the head before looping back to curl into the first again while the second set extends back towards Anthony but cross one another twice before ending just above where the end of the handle is, 3 inches past the back of the head.
The Pugio is much less flamboyant than it’s Spartha counterpart. For starters it measures only about a foot in length and it’s blade seemed more like a sizable and sharpened fang. From what creature could produce a fang the size and width necessary for a Pugio, not even Anthony knows. The hilt on the other hand is far more what one would expect. It has no guard and only a small claw at the end of the hilt while the remainder of the handle is the root of the fang. Except of course grooved and shaved off so that it holds a comfortable grip in Anthony’s hand. Despite it being a fang it still holds a semblance of what a Pugio should look as far as the overall form of the blade
Bankai:
Bankai is a bit unique in that depending on if Life’s requiem is active or not. This portion will focus on the normal form of his bankai as it’s alternate form is described in Final Requiem. Under normal circumstances when bankai is released Anthony no longer holds any weapon but instead trades this for an absolutely massive monstrosity of a human skeleton. It towers over Anthony being 15 feet tall with the body proportions to match. There’s also no lower half as it just floats in the air with the only part of it touching the ground occasionally is the excessively long spinal cord measuring a whopping 30 feet making the lower half of the spinal cord more akin to a tail than an actual spine. The spine/tail can be used both offensively and defensively depending on what’s needed and can even provide some utility as it can wrap around an opponent. However the spine itself is not sharpened instead being rough and blunt however the bottom of the spine., the tail bone, is actually sharpened and thus can be used cut/slash/stab something if need be.
It’s arms and hands as mentioned before are proportional to the upper body and are visibly an exact replica of the human body. The only difference in this at all is that the fingers are more akin to claws due to their sharpened points at the end. However they still hold all the functions a normal hand could do. The remainder of the upper body of the summon is also an exact replica of the human body with one distinction. The chest cavity is actually wide open with no sternum and instead just a bunch of sharpened bones that serve as ribs. The space inside the chest cavity is only really enough for one, namely Anthony however another person could squeeze themself in uncomfortably if allowed or quick enough.
And last but not least is the skull. Almost exactly a normal human skull aside from two defining features. The first being it’s teeth are practically all canines or various similar fangs and the second more impacting feature is that both the mouth and the eyes are billowing out miasma. This miasma is constantly pumping out miasma from even before Anthony summons him out however unlike normal gases that would expand outward this miasma remains condensed and flows around the body of the summon. A central point, the chest cavity, is the only spot that this miasma doesn’t seem to interact with like the eye of a hurricane while the remainder has it flowing over the main body, upper arms, and the upper portion of the spine. The miasma from any other portion of the body it flows over extends about 3 inches before fading away keeping the entirety pretty well contained to just the skeletal monster.
The last thing to note about this summon is that there are bindings connecting Anthony to his summon. They are attached to each arm and the center of the upper back wrapping around the limb in question and holding strange markings over the actual wrapping. These markings/symbols glow a sinister and dull silver that not even the miasma that runs over them can hide. For Anthony they wrap around his arms but with the one connecting to his back it's more as though its actually wrapped around his spin as it fades into his back rather than around his torso. These bindings hold an ethereal form similar to how the weapons Anthony wielded earlier were and as such can pretty much extend as far as needed without ever giving the appearance or look of being strained.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases) [
Shikai
Reclaim that which is yours, Shinobata (Death’s avatar)
Bankai
Silence all life as you walk by and usher in our world's last age, Shinotaisho (Overlord of Death)
Overall Ability: [
Shinigami have many abilities, most supernatural in a way most humans can only imagine. And why wouldn’t they, these beings are gods of death they naturally should have powers that others cannot naturally have. However when one thinks of strictly what death entails the idea that comes to mind is the body and soul separating. Their connection cut. This is the case no matter the form of death. Plain and simple Anthony’s zanpakuto Shinobata damages the tie between the body (physical or spiritual) and the soul (or core of a spirits being) and eventually severs it completely. Every being has a connection from their central being, whether that's their soul or the core of a spiritual beings body, to their external body. This connection is what allows the body to do a number of things, the most basic being keeping it alive. Thus like a flame, if the source of its existence is taken away it will grow smaller and smaller until it fades away. The same applies to all living beings.
However Anthony’s power is precise, harming only the connection that it comes in contact with. It also does not apply any harmful effects until after the opponent is hit multiple times on the same limb. With 1 hit the opponent suffers nothing, not even feeling any pain or sensations. With a 2nd hit the opponent begins to feel an odd sensation, this sensation does not hinder them from anything but is present until the damage is healed. This sensation is akin to the pins and needles feeling when a limb had “fallen” asleep but can easily be ignored at a few minutes of experiencing it. At the 3rd hit the limb begins to shake and shudder similar to elder folk however this can be ignored or outright forced to be still with a SoW/Damage Recovery at 2 or higher. Once the 4th hit is reached however the connection is so damaged that the shudders and shakes become uncontrollable unless the affected has a 3 in either SoW or Damage recovery and to make matters worse they experience a 25% decrease in speed for that limb specifically. And if 5 hits should be made against a single limb the connection is completely severed causing that limb to be useless until healed. No reiatsu can be channelled through it nor can it be moved by the affected.
The limbs that can be hit are each leg, arm, the head and the chest. However the head and chest are special for a couple reasons. The chest for starters has double the hit counts as any other limb, this is due to it housing the core of the being in question. However because the core itself is being damaged one hit to the chest will damage each limb, except the head, at half a hit. The effects however for contact with the chest come in at every 2nd hit, however should there be 8 hits the speed penalty associated with that level affects the entire body of the person in question. And at 10 hits the person will become unable to move from the neck down but will not die. The only time death is inflicted to another via this process is when the head is hit for a 5th time, and even then this is only possible for DE threads. For any other thread the person affected loses all senses and cannot even hold themself up.
The progression of damage to the affected limbs connection can be seen by how much necrosis is building. For 1 hit there is nothing. For 2 hits there are a few small black spots near the area hit. Once at 3 hits these spots have grown to speckle the entire limb. At 4 these spots are now the size of large bruises covering the limb. Finally at 5 hits the entire limb is black and purple. This necrosis and the damage to the connection can be healed however, reverting the total count to that limb to a lower count so long as it is not at 5, or 10 for the chest.
This necrosis however can be healed or reduced in a few ways. The first being how skilled one is in Damage Recovery. For every point in Damage recovery the person who has hit counters can remove a single hit counter after sometime has passed. These follow as such, A 1 will heal a counter every 5 posts, a 2 will heal a counter ever 4 posts, a 3 will heal a counter every 3 posts, and a 4 will heal a counter every 2 posts. These counters can from any limb that's affected except from those affected by 5 hits. These rates of healing are for Shikai. If Anthony is in Bankai however it takes an extra post to heal from any hit counter via Damage recovery. Thus for example someone with a 3 in Damage Recovery would heal at 1 hit every 4 posts instead of 3.
Another method of healing away these hit counters is to just heal the limb using a healing technique, any will do so long as it is aimed at healing the necrosis or spiritual damage. For classes 7-5 it will heal one hit, for 4-3 it will heal 2 hits, and for 2-1 it will heal 3 hits. This method of healing is directed solely at the limb being healed however and does not take away from other limb. However the advantage of this is if directed at a limb that has it's maximum hit counters reached then the 5th hit counter can be healed if the class of the healing is 2 or above. Lastly should a person be gifted with a high Healing Expertise they can also heal themselves at the same speed as those who are skilled in Damage Recovery. This starts with those who have a 200 in Healing Expertise they can heal at 1 hit every 4 posts. Every 100 points after this take one less post to heal a counter away capping at 1 hit every two posts at 400 Healing Expertise. Should Anthony be in Bankai however then the person in question will need a 300 in Healing expertise to start healing away hit counters with each subsequent Healing Expertise requirement increasing by 150 instead of 100. The cap for 1 hit per two posts capping at 600 Healing Expertise. If one has both a minimum of 3 in Damage Recovery and 400 in Healing Expertise they can heal at one hit per post in Shikai as well as Bankai.
Shikai Overall Ability: [
As mentioned before Anthony’s zanpakuto has the ability to cut and damage the connection of a limb from the soul/core of a being. However there is a limit to how often this connection can be damaged in one post. And for shikai that is one hit per limb that counts towards increasing the damage dealt to the connection. If for some reason Anthony is able to hit the same limb twice his weapon will still phase through as though it would normally hit but will not cause any further damage. Another point to be made is that while in shikai Anthony has to make a clean hit, if Anthony’s weapon only gives a shallow cut or barely contacts his opponent then they will not receive an additional hit.
A unique feature about Anthony’s weapon is that while it harms this connection and in turn harms the opponents body the opponent in question will never suffer any physical harm from the weapon itself. This is due to the blades ethereal nature which allow it to bypass the external body. His zanpakuto however can be made to act as though it were hitting a physical object by defending themselves with other spiritual objects. These include but are not limited to those who imbue reiatsu into objects they hold, release weapons, and even armor so long as it’s made of a spiritual mineral/imbued with reiatsu. Even certain techniques that inject mass amounts of reiatsu to the body can hold off Anthony’s weapon. If Anthony has a 2x their highest Offensive Stat his zanpakuto will continue to phase through their spiritual objects.
Bankai Overall Ability:
Shikai focused on teaching Anthony how to be a death god, a shinigami. It gave him the tool necessary to actually cut the tie between the soul and body. So the only logical step then is to show Anthony how its done. How to utilize his abilities to the fullest, and who better than the an aspect of death itself, a reaper? The reaper summoned however looks a bit different than one would expect. For starters it has no lower body and its chest cavity is open with enough space to fit one person comfortably. Not that anyone in their right mind would want to go there because it is the center of a maelstrom of a miasma so thick that no light permeates through. The miasma itself however billows from the skull’s mouth and eye sockets giving the upper skeletal body a massive cloak made from this miasma. Physically it has exaggerated length for its arms, neck, and spine. Hell the end of the spine seems more like a tail at the end considering the length and ability to move around easily. And the hands are more like clawed fingers for each hand, even the teeth for the skull itself are humanoid canines meant to inflict harm.
These bones hold a quirk though. They can in fact interact physically as well as retain the ability to harm the connection between body and soul of the opponent. This however is determined by Anthony as soon as he has the aspect attack. If he chooses to interact with the opponent physically the bones retain their sunbleached color and if he chooses to attack the connection they become coated in the same miasma that makes the cloak. While this can still be blocked with a release weapon, reiatsu based attacks, reiatsu enhanced weapons, and spiritual armor this aspect needs Anthony to only have a 1.5x higher OS to move through these defenses and still harm the connection.
And speaking of attacking Anthony has two methods of using this aspect, he can either command it mentally having it act on its own as best as possible or he can control it himself. This is done through the chains wrapped around his arms that also wrap around the arms of the aspect. To further that Anthony also has a chain around his neck that connects to the spinal cord allowing him to also use the end of the spine as a tail to utilize as well as use the skull with it’s miasma. He can use this miasma as a breath attack however while it normally remains a shroud that covers the entirety of his body when used like this it uses all the miasma for that post. The miasma breath can reach upwards of 200 feet in a line and upon hitting the ground and expanding will reach outwards with a 50 foot radius. This miasma when interacted with will cause a hit to occur for each body part that interacted with it and in the case it is breathed in will cause a full hit to all limbs. This miasma will only last for a post however and still follows the limit to how many times the connections can be damaged. In bankai however this limit is two hits a post. This interaction with the miasma that makes the cloak for the aspect imposes the same effects if someone should try to interact with Anthony while near or inside the aspect. However both of these can be countered by those with 2x Anthony’s OS, the required HE or if they have a 3 in Damage recovery. However for those using Damage recovery/HE this denies them the ability to heal hits so long as they remain inside the miasma.
For this summon it’s OS/durability is based off Anthony’s highest OS, though for durability it follows the zanpakuto’s 2x OS durability, the chains included. It’s speed is equal to Anthony’s base speed whether he issues a mental command or he manipulates it himself. It has no sensory capability of it’s own accord but when manipulated by Anthony his sensory stats apply for how well it can react/sense others and their techniques. While the chains are difficult to break should they be broken several different effects happen depending on how many are broken. If one is broken the aspect loses its ability to generate a miasma for 2 posts with the cloak of miasma currently around it fading away. After the two posts the miasma can be recalled however Anthony will need to pay 400 reiatsu for it. If two chains are broken the aspect loses its ability to generate the miasma entirely as well as loses its ability to interact with the connections more than once per post. Lastly should all three chains be broken Anthony will no longer be in control of his aspect and for one post it will rampage around all who are nearby. After this post it will end Anthony’s bankai forcibly and will not allow any level of release for 3 posts after.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Shikai Techniques
1. Macabre Waltz
Description:
The prominent ability of Anthony’s shikai is its ability to harm and eventually sever the connection between body and soul however it has a sort of subtle ability that isn’t quite as obvious. He can manipulate the same connection and in the case of himself he can manipulate it to the spirits that reside in his zanpakuto. A Zanpakuto normally signals a connection between the one spirit and the user however with so many spirits on top of the leading entity their connections are naturally much weaker. This technique selects one of the alternate spirits and strengthens the connection, enough so that like his Zanpakuto spirit it actually can exist outside his sword.
This spirit comes in the form of a skeletal companion entirely made of reishi and is connected to Anthony by a chain attached to each of their spinal cords. Unlike companions summoned by others Anthony’s skeleton is actually fairly weak in durability, only holding durability equal to Anthony’s OS in shikai and 1.5x in Bankai. It’s height and size are the same as Anthony and it even holds an energy weapon mimicking the shikai release that holds the same ability as the to cut and damage the connection. This for a continued cost of 200 reiatsu per post allows Anthony to basically have two attacks in the form of one as the skeleton mimics Anthony’s every move, and in the case of his weapon allows for two hits of necrosis to occur on a limb assuming both weapons hit. The only difference is that while Anthony can hit any limb once a post, the skeleton can only increase any one limb’s hit count once a turn.
In the case of a technique being used, unless it’s physical in nature his skeleton can mimic it but with no effect. For example Anthony can utilize a kido motioning where he wants it to hit however for the skeleton it would mimic the same motion but produce no second kido attack. While in Shikai the skeleton is able to move around Anthony but has to stay within his immediate area (5-10 feet.). Bankai allows this skeleton to move around farther from Anthony, upwards of 75 feet while still maintaining the same ability to increase one limbs hit count by 1. It also allows a maximum of 2 skeleton to be summoned however the cost doubles to compensate. These skeletons now can also use Shunpo however the cost for it counts against Anthony as well as uses his reiatsu, this can only be done once a post per skeleton. It’s OS is the same as Anthony’s for the ability to bypass anything that would resist Anthony’s shikai ability with their speed. In shikai it has no sensory stats due to it mimicking Anthony however in Bankai they have sensory stats equal to Anthony's.
Drawback:
Per post cost of 200 reiatsu, doubling in bankai if there are two, and can easily be destroyed due to lower durability. Assuming Anthony does not move or cannot see an attack, the skeleton will not move to dodge or even block while in Shikai. Instead taking the full damage as the opponent intended. Limited range of movement in Shikai as well as only being able to add one hit counter to a single limb in bankai or shikai per post if contact with a limb is made. If Anthony should shunpo while in shikai he must drag the skeleton with him via the chain or otherwise severe the connection and force the skeleton to return to his zanpakuto. If he drags the skeleton with him instead of the usual 10x shunpo he instead receives 6x to his speed. When dragged this way no matter the position of the skeleton prior it cannot move for a couple seconds after the shunpo has been used by Anthony.
2. Decaying Essence
Description:
When shikai is released Anthony’s energy changes. Normal reiatsu supports life, even for those of the human world. It fuels their existence and allows them to achieve many things via it’s influence. Anthony’s only supports his own existence so any contact with his reiatsu begins to eat away and corrupt any other reiatsu/reishi. However this is can only be done with physical contact from Anthony’s weapon in Shikai or his summoned aspects in Bankai.
Specifically what this technique does is upon activation of 150 reiatsu it allows every hit or contact with Anthony’s zanpakuto to corrupt another’s reiatsu. The upkeep cost is 75 reiatsu per post until ended. The amount of reiatsu that can be corrupted is 50 in shikai and 100 in bankai. The only limit to how many times reiatsu can be corrupted is by how many hits/physical contact occur that post. If 8 attacks are made for example but none hit then no reiatsu is corrupted and Anthony has to continue to pay reiatsu to keep this going. However should those attacks be made the opponents reiatsu gets corrupted depending on many hits were made.
Similar to Anthony’s zanpakuto ability this also has a build up. It’s effects only take place at 300 corrupted reiatsu in shikai and in bankai extends to 500 reiatsu as well. For shikai when 300 reiatsu is corrupted the opponent's next reiatsu attack that uses this reiatsu costs 25% more and has to use the corrupted reiatsu as it’s source. When in bankai this effect can be denied by Anthony so that the build up continues until it totals 500 reiatsu. When the corrupted total reaches 500 the next reiatsu attack now is a class less and has an increased cost of 25%.
There are a few ways to get rid of the corrupted reiatsu the first being the easiest but most costly. Those afflicted can forcibly get rid of it. This is done by expelling the corrupted reiatsu completely but to do this requires one hit’s hits worth of uncorrupted reiatsu on top of the total amount of corrupted reiatsu. For example if there is 200 reiatsu that is corrupted and Anthony is in shikai, the opponent would have to spend 250 reiatsu to expunge all of the corrupted reiatsu. One could also resist this technique with poison resist. A 2 allowing for half the build up per hit in shikai or bankai. While a 3 in poison resist would negate this entirely. Those with an HE of 200 can also cleanse themselves of a single hit’s worth per post in shikai. To do the same in bankai requires 350 HE.
Drawbacks:
While the initial cost is static the cost will grow over time burning through Anthony’s reiatsu reserve. The negative effects can only be applied when at the numerical limit as well as Anthony must has this passive active if he intends to utilize the effect. Once the corrupted reiatsu is used Anthony must continue to hit his opponent to build up the corrupted reiatsu again. Must have contact with the opponent either through Anthony’s weapon/summoned spirit or physical touch from Anthony. If the opponent has superior OS in Shikai or 25% higher OS in Bankai they are immune to this technique's effect.
3. Lifelink
Description:
Another technique born from Shintobata’s more subtle ability to manipulate the connection between body and soul. Except in this case it makes a connection between the user and a single opponent. This connection shares the damage done to the user with the opponent by utilizing the energy Shinobata uses to cut the opponents connections with their body and soul. The link made is merely a catalyst to spark the outcome desired output, in the case of shikai inflicting an identical wound so long as it’s one sizable wound. For bankai the wound that can be shared can up to the removal of a limb or a series of smaller wounds.
Specifically how it works is upon activation Anthony has to make a connection with the opponent using either physical contact or his weapon in the post its used in. Once the connection is made he can then activate this technique by spending 250 reiatsu in shikai or 400 reiatsu in bankai (if it’s a series of small wounds or the equivalent of a limb being cut off) and inflict the same wound he was given to his opponent. Another cost to this technique however is using a full hit counter from the limb the damage is going to be inflicted at. The same wound cannot be inflicted twice on an opponent nor can any self inflicted wound be given to the opponent. It must be an injury from the opponent. On top of that the connection must be made otherwise the wound cannot be inflicted.
Which leads us to how this connection can be avoided. The easiest way is to simply avoid being hit or coming in physical contact with Anthony. Should however contact be made, opponents with superior OS in Shikai or 25% higher OS while in Bankai are too strong to be marked. Even if the connection is made the opponent can destroy it so long as they use their reiatsu to expel Anthony’s reiatsu that made the connection, this amount totals the reiatsu spent to activate the technique.
Drawbacks: This technique has three costs. The first being an initial activation cost of 100 reiatsu, the second being a cost of 250 or 400 depending on how much damage is being inflicted and what level the release is at. With the last cost being a hit counter from the limb the wound is being inflicted at.
It require some kind of physical contact, either with Anthony’s weapon/Summoned spirit or physical contact from Anthony to initially make this connection. If there is no hit counter on that limb then the wound cannot be inflicted and if there are no hit counters at all this technique is unusable. Same goes for if there is no connection because it was broken or couldn’t be made.
Bankai techniques
1. Death’s Ultimatum
Description:
An incredibly simple technique that utilizes the summoned aspects miasma to the fullest. Once activated this technique cuts control of the summon from Anthony as it begins to condense it’s miasma that it generates into an orb between both of its hands. This remains for a post with the aspect remaining stationary as it focuses it’s full efforts on condensing this orb of miasma. In the meantime Anthony must defend himself using any means possible as he has no weapon himself during the charge up period. The next post for Anthony however is where this technique really begins to shine.
Starting on the post after the initial charge the aspect stops condensing the orb as there is no more miasma to condense. Prior to releasing this orb of miasma the aspect can be directed to either make it’s way towards Anthony or to a specific spot. No matter where it’s directed, if anywhere at all, the aspect will then collapse the condensed orb. This orb initially violently implodes before subsequently exploding sending a massive wave of miasma in all directions at a speed of 600. This miasma has a force equal to 1.5x Anthony’s OS and upon impact with an opponent will give a hit point to all limbs. The surrounding area is not immune to its effects either and will subsequently decay away leaving the all area’s touched by the miasma bare. In the case of constructs or anything connected to an opponent they must have a durability 1.5x Anthony’s OS in order to survive the attack. If they do not they will also decay until finally fading out of existence.
Even after the explosion the miasma hangs in ground, air, and even the latent reishi corrupting each. Thus for the next two posts if anyone other than Anthony is within a quarter of a mile they will gain a hit post to all limbs as the area is completely saturated from the initial blast. This passive increase in hit counters can be ignored with a 3 in Damage Recovery or a 450 HE. If one has both they can still recover at 1 hit counter per two posts but if those in the area have only one or the other they cannot heal from hit counters unless they use a healing technique. Those who also have 1.5x Anthony’s OS also do not gain hit counters for each post inside this area.
Drawbacks:
It takes an entire turn for the aspect to condense all of it’s miasma. For that post Anthony no longer has his weapon in Bankai to utilize. After the explosion and while the quarter of a mile is affected Anthony’s summon cannot generate any miasma. Ironically a simple method to avoid the blast radius is to in fact get as close as humanly possible to Anthony’s aspect. If one were in it’s chest cavity or near it they will not suffer the explosive impact.
This attack can also be stopped if the opponent targets the condensing orb of miasma but must hit it with an attack 1.5x Anthony’s OS. If hit with this kind of attack it will explode prematurely but instead inflict the damage to the summon, subsequently breaking one chain to Anthony and stacking on it’s negative effects. Lastly no matter if it went off as intended or was prematurely stopped for the next two posts the summon cannot generate any miasma. As well as the reiatsu paid to enact this technique, which is a cost of 800 reiatsu, is lost because it’s paid upon activation. Lastly once used Anthony cannot utilize Final Requiem at any point during or after this technique is used. Anthony must wait until for the two post miasma aftermath to fade before he can use Final Requiem.
2. Sever the Bonds
Description:
Tie’s and connections come in many forms including bonds between zanpakuto spirit and wielder for a shinigami. For other races this is between their physical or weapon release and the wielder of that release. This technique is actually not a technique but an expansion upon Shinobata’s ability to cut the connection between soul and body. Except now Shinobata can extend this ability to cut the connection between a user and their release weapon/form.
This comes in the form of increasing the current post count by 1 for any physical contact between Anthony’s summoned aspect or the weapon it makes with Final Requiem. However unlike the shikai ability to completely sever a connection this passive can only increase the post count to the final post. This means that that while Anthony can shorten a release he can never end it with this passive. There will always be one final post for the opponent to utilize their release prior to refreshing their release (If able). For example a class 3 shinigami uses bankai and their limit is 10 posts. Sever the bonds can increase the post count up to 9 but cannot make it 10. Thus the opponent can use their bankai for it’s last post.
For races such as quincies, bount, mod souls, etc this passive functions a bit differently. Upon hitting a doll or the person instead of losing a post this technique instead seals away a technique/property for one post. This is randomly chosen via assigned numbers and a dice roll. For the chosen property/technique it's sealed for the next post and cannot be used. In the case of a continuous technique if it's required to be paid for per post post then it’s effects end upon the opponents next post. If the opponent or doll sustains another hit then the tehnique/property remains sealed for another post. An interesting effect however is if the property/technique becomes unsealed then any property or technique is free game to be sealed upon if they are hit again by Anthony.
For those who have equal or less OS than Anthony every form of contact with his aspect or the weapon made with Final Requiem will increase the amount of posts currently used by 1. For those that have a higher OS up to 1.5x will have their post count by 1 for every two interactions of contact. And those who have an OS above 1.5x Anthony’s will be immune to this ability.
Drawbacks:
Contact has to be made with the opponents release, weapon, or full body depending on the release. This passive will leave one usable post for the opponent to use and cannot cut off another from their release. Clean hits to either the release are the only hits that apply this effect. Anthony’s summon or weapon must make full contact for at least a second. Can only be applied once a post.
In the case of bount/ mod souls/quincies/etc the property or technique that gets sealed away upon hit is random and can only affect 1 technique/property at a time. To keep a particular technique sealed away would force Anthony to hit his opponent every post. If he can't the technique/property will be unsealed and then may not get resealed again If he can hit his opponent. Hollows are immune to this ability.
3. Final Requiem
Description:
Arguably Anthony’s strongest technique out of those gained with bankai but also the hardest to use because it actually takes the consent of his spirit. Specifically the being thats summoned by going into bankai. This is because what this technique does is takes the aspect summoned and it merges it with Anthony to make an armor and weapon made of the aspect. The weapon is a curved greatsword made of bone with a sharpened claw serving as the cutting edge and the humerus serving as the backbone of the blade and the radius/Ulna making the hilt/handle. This weapon retains the same abilities as the aspect summoned except now their is a miasma radiating off it for up to a 4 inches. This allows Anthony to inflict a hit counter if his weapon glances or inflicts a shallow cut on his opponent by sending a small portion of the miasma that radiates off the blade into the wound. To do this however costs 75 reiatsu and can only be done once a post.
As far as the armor goes the spine lays over Anthony’s while retaining the elongated lower portion of the spine so that it can function similar to a tail except with the end sharpened so that it may cut and harm the opponent. The length of this “tail” is 10 feet from base of Anthony’s spine to the tip of the sharpened tailbone. The skull itself seems to merge and overlay Anthony’s so that only his eyes can be seen. The miasma however that the skull produces continues to radiate from the skull and billows out from all crevices aside from the eye sockets this extends to form a cloak that reaches 5 feet from Anthony. This cloak can be used in a breath attack similar to how his aspect uses it and in fact has the same distance and expansion distance. However the same drawback applies where for the post that it remains he has no miasma shroud. The remainder of the bone wraps around and overlays itself against Anthony to become something akin to armor with the chains serving as binding. The durability of this weapon and armor made by this technique equals zanpakuto durability as it is made of what would be Anthony’s weapon, his aspect. In a literal sense this technique aims to make Anthony the aspect of death he summoned.
Drawbacks:
To start this cuts Anthony’s total post count for bankai in half and while he can refresh his bankai to maintain this, it’s total post count will remain halved. Anthony also has to get consent from his aspect to use this, it cannot be forced. While this is active Anthony cannot in anyway utilize Death’s Ultimatum as his summoned aspect has become his armor and weapon. And for the flip side, Anthony cannot use this during any post Death Ultimatum is used or the two posts after it’s used. Lastly this technique costs a whooping 600 reiatsu to use every 3 posts.
Mask Appearance:
So given Loreian was a king in his past, continues to strive to rebuild a kingdom, and effectively was the leader of every spirit inside Anthony’s zanpakuto it's no real surprise that his mask follows this theme of being “kingly”. In fact the mask itself really tries to show a good amount of detail into the upper part by forming around the entire top of the head and making something reminiscent of a crown. For about 3 inches around the entire head is a single band forming the seal around the top of the head. From this band up are several jagged spikes jutting out towards Anthony’s skull but never actually touching it. Over Anthony’s forehead is a particularly large spike that has a small pointed end under the band while the jagged spike above goes over every other spike that is aligned around his head with two other smaller spikes jutting out on either side. Somehow despite the fact the mask itself is bone it bears a dark steel color to it as well as a faint sheen to it as though it were polished.
Looking to the actual face the biggest thing to notice is that Anthony’s face is entirely hidden. Underneath the “helmet crown” of the mask’s design is an ebony black but smooth layer of bone over Anthony’s face. This layer alone covers his entire face and even extends over his ears as well as the tip of his chin. Atop this smooth layer is the actual helmet look of the mask with face guards to either side covering the sides of his face and following his jaw line to the edge of where his lips would be. However while the crown above was jagged and rough the sides of the face are delicate. Looking more like the bone was cut out into thin smooth strips layering over one another to make a face guard. Unsurprisingly because it's more like small strands than spikes or plate it shows the same ebony colored portion of the mask that lies underneath. In its entirety it almost gives the appearance that Anthony has no face at all once this is on. Instead making him look more akin to a wraith with an odd crown helmet that is just light enough to be noticeable while remaining dark as steel.
Ressurection Appearance:
Upon ressurrection being performed Anthony will be encompassed in a multitude of black energy and misama that his zanpakuto naturally emits from it’s bankai. For a few moments nothing is able to be seen until it finally gets swallowed back into him forming a new set of clothing over whatever he was wearing prior. This clothing is tattered, torn, and frayed yet it shows no holes whatsoever and while being made of miasma and reiatsu looks more like cloth. It covers his entirety stopping only just a bit above his feet, at his wrists, and around his neck. For his neck in particular it makes a sort of collar made of spikes that ebb and flow in size and shape and reach at most up the back side of his head.
Or in this case his skull. Yes there is no longer a face anymore it’s an actual skull with no eyes, no skin, just straight bone. The only seemingly human thing that remained is Anthony’s hair. Except now it’s long and flowing, going all the way down to the middle of his back. Surprisingly it’s actually smooth to the look and is a bright silver-white color. The remainder of his face is what you’d expect from a human skull except that the teeth and especially the canines look much sharper and almost akin to small fangs. His hands and feet by comparison have enough bone that each looks about the same size as his limbs should be normally except for the jagged and rough look to it. However the ends of his fingers and toes are more akin to claws that had faded from stark white to black.
The last few interesting points to note come in the form of his crown. No longer is his crown physical instead is actually akin to a halo but pitch black with 4 spikes. There are very faint white rings both inside and around the outside of this black ring but unless one actively looks for it it’s almost impossible to find. Another interesting point to note is the cracks of yellow that appear around Anthony’s new form. These shine through his chest showing off parts of his rib cage when the miasma is thin and looking akin to a sprawling spider web upon his chest. And last but not least is the lantern at his right side. Glowing with an eerie black light, the same color of his black halo, and seemingly swirling around with energy that seeps out from it and into Anthony’s clothing.
Ressurection Powers:
Undeath’s Vigor
Description:
What is the one thing a Lich is known for? Being nigh impossible to kill because it keeps coming back. Normally this is through it’s phylactery, the object the lich’s soul is stored and bound to. If this isn’t damaged or destroyed then the lich will continue to come back indefinitely. Anthony while not quite that fortunate does in fact follow this idea to a degree.
Inherently a passive ability Anthony suffers 25% less damage that would occur from any attack that comes in contact with him. This applies to any attack, physical or spiritual, so long as the attack is damaging. For example, if a byakurai were at 400 OS and hit Anthony then it would be treated as though it were at 300 OS instead. However an illusion ability that makes Anthony see a second opponent would work at its full ability as it’s not damaging in nature.
The flip side to this however is that like his fictional counterparts Anthony does in fact still hold a weak spot. His weak spot is his lantern that he carries. If any damage should occur at to the lantern then damage will instead be treated as though it were 50% higher than it’s OS. So going back to the byakurai example, if it’s at 400 OS and it hits Anthony’s lantern it’s instead treated as though it were at 600 OS instead. This damage is also dealt over Anthony’s entire body.
Drawbacks:
Anthony holds a weak point that is easily identifiable, his lantern. It’s easily noticeable and does not move. Thus Anthony cannot hide or dodge an attack that might come at it unless he moves his entire body. Which is a pretty obvious give that he now holds a weak point on his person. To make matters worse it increases the damage done to Anthony and inflicts this damage to his entire person. If this is hit more than a few times, especially in quick succession Anthony could easily get beaten. Or worse yet if it’s hit with 1.5x his OS it will shatter and end his Ressurection.
Rise from the Dark Realms
Description:
So what else is a lich known for aside from being nearly unkillable? It has hordes of zombies or really any manner of undead at it’s beck and call that will attend to it at a moments notice. Anthony mimics this ability by calling out to the seemingly endless spirits that reside in his zanpakuto and having them aid him in his fight. For 250 reiatsu upon activation and 150 reiatsu per post he can summon a mass of spirits from his zanpakuto that form a horde sizing up to 20 feet by 20 feet. Due to them being ethereal they not only float around but can move through physical objects just as his zanpakuto can.
This horde can be controlled in two ways, the first being mental commands. These spirits will do the command to the utmost of their ability but do not have any significant capability to do complex maneuvers. They will however attempt to shield Anthony from any attack or weapon that is spiritual or made of energy in nature. Any physical attacks they cannot block. The alternate method of controlling them is via manipulation through Anthony’s free hand. Similar to how Byakuya uses senbonzakura is how they will act when controlled by Anthony. This horde is treated as an entire entity and any attack that harms a part of it harms the entirety of the horde. For their stats they have a set speed of 600 under either form of command and an OS equal to Anthony’s OS. Their durability follows the same stat as their OS but degrades as they are hit, this is equal to the opponent's OS unless they are blocking an attack. If the attack is blocked it counts as half of the opponents full OS so long as they are blocking.
Drawbacks:
First and foremost is their durability. Despite having a high durability it lowers with each attack they sustain damage from. And any attack they block counts as damage to their durability but halved. Once they are hit with an attack that is greater than or equal to their durability they will disperse and fade back into Anthony’s zanpakuto without blocking the attack at all. This while a good form of area control eats at Anthony’s reiatsu and cannot be refreshed nor cancelled until the horde is beaten by an attack or his ressurection ends. If either happen Anthony must go through a one post cooldown before he can use this technique again.
The Soul’s Finale
Description:
Arguably Anthony’s strongest technique while in ressurection and also his most hated. This is a technique that was completely inherited from Loreian and is usable by Anthony due to having gained control of Loreians abilities. Loreian in his initial conquest to rule over other hollows as he grew in power came to into contact with a great many that would not bend their knee nor would acknowledge his rule. These beings posed a great threat if they came back with greater strength that could rival his at a later point. So the only way to deal with them was to destroy them. Permanently.
And that's exactly what this technique does. This technique targets a beings core self, either the soul from a physical body or the core of a soul in a spiritual being. From here so long as Anthony has physical contact with the intended target for 10 seconds, is equal in class or higher and has 1.5x their OS he can reach into the target and rip out there core. From here Anthony can simply crush their core destroying it and in the process killing the target. This prevents the soul from being recycled in the soul cycle as it ceases to exist. However the thread must be a DE thread for this to occur. Should the thread be NDE or DP this instead severely harms the soul of the target before returning it ultimately making the target pass out from sheer pain of the experience.
Drawbacks:
Aside from the necessity for prolonged physical contact this technique demands an equal class and a high amount of stats to even use. It can only kill someone if the thread was agreed upon to be DE prior to the start of the thread. However even if the thread is DP or NDE this technique still costs an large amount of reiatsu, totalling at 1000 minimum as it will end a fight with the target if it is successfully used.
Also as a character point, Anthony will NEVER consider using this technique 99% of the time. Unless Anthony is forcibly taken over by Loreian or some circumstance/substantial reason exists and forces his hand, Anthony will not use this. It’s not even a matter of question.

Birthplace:
Rome, Italy
Current Residence:
Squad 1 Barracks/Kuchiki Manor
Memorable Figures:
Kyomei Kuchiki- Current head of the Kuchiki and longstanding rival, though unspoken and potentially one-sided, to Anthony. His display of ability is part of what continues driving Anthony to reach up to new levels of ability in all areas. Very well respected by Anthony.
Loreian Gulthar Mortiferius- The entire reason Anthony was able to interact with spirits effectively as well as the reason why he has any abilities whatsoever. However due to his memory loss/fudging he’s also known as the “Old man” that Anthony vaguely knows of.
Cyrus Kuchiki- Adoptive father and another outsider who had joined the family due to his marrying Hisano. He’s also the reason Anthony even made it to the Soul Society and the one who first thought of taking him on as a son.
Hisano Kuchiki- Adoptive Mother and the driving force behind his becoming apart of the Kuchiki clan. Without her Anthony would have been left to his own devices in the Rukongai.
History:
Anthony Mortifero, born in 1968 to an older couple in Rome, Italy. His birth was as expected with no complications, if you can imagine it was textbook. The two parents, Giovanni and Valentina, were all the more relieved given the state of their families prior to Anthony’s arrival was filled with death or detachment from those who remained alive. Welcomed with open arms and high hopes Anthony’s life starts off on a very fortunate note that would for the most part follow throughout his childhood. He never had to struggle for any of his basic necessities as his parents owned a restaurant on the first floor of their house. The business itself despite the somewhat large upstart loans actually held it’s own despite the numerous other restaurants in Rome. The only downside from it came that working hours for both parents spanned from early in the morning to late in the evening. Thus for the most part Anthony had to manage until the restaurant was closed for the day.
For Anthony however this was never a terribly difficult task to accomplish as once he was old enough to go to school he’d spent the most of his time there or while home exploring nearby ruins. And for awhile this was Anthony’s life, school, homework, ruins, some family time and bed only to restart the day again when he woke up. Until he was about 8 years old as what made Anthony special compared to most people, even in Rome, was that he held a flicker of spiritual ability. Unbeknownst to his parents Anthony was able to interact with the pluses and other spiritual beings that roamed the city and more specifically the ruins. However Anthony’s abilities were severely limited as he could only really hear the voices of the spiritual beings around and on good days sense the general direction that they’re energy was radiating from. Thus for the most part if he ever started talking to or interacting with the spirits those around him assumed he was just speaking to “imaginary” friends given there was nothing else around.
This last only 4 years as by the time he was 12 it started to give people concern that he was still talking to people or beings that didn’t exist. And the worst part Anthony wasn’t exactly very clever or careful about it. He’d just start speaking at the spirit in question in front of people and wouldn’t stop despite the looks he’d get. For the next few years this would give him an odd reputation as being a bit on the odd side though it was hard for it to stick given Anthony was just as social with those of the physical realm. Quick to befriend, loyal to a fault and just a generally happy child. He wasn’t even too much of a problem child as he’d been voluntarily helping his family out where he could with the restaurant. So though the rumor was up and around it was hard to stick to Anthony just due to how normal and down to earth he was. But given Anthony’s refusal to stop talking to the spirits it eventually did stick but only once he’d hit his later years of about 16-18 years old.
By this point Anthony was a bit more aware of just how much it made others weary of him as the looks and way others would act around him just wasn’t the same. He ever caught wind of a rumor of him talking to the dead because by now no one could understand who else he’d be talking to, especially when he’d visit the ruins in his free time and just be talking out loud to no one at all. Even Anthony’s parents were concerned and tried to confront him about this as they only wanted the best for Anthony and knew if this continued it’d ruin his chances to maintain relationships with others. But to Anthony how could he stop? The spirits had been around for longer than he’d even been able to comprehend and contrary to popular belief were normally pretty understanding. They’d even come to accept Anthony and welcome him into their conversations allowing him to learn of a time long since past amongst other interesting tidbits of information. So how could he just abandon them for the sake of those who’d otherwise ignore them even if they could interact?
Thus he got smarter about how and when he interacted with them. Changing his time to hang around them in the dead of night after work and in more secluded areas. Hell on the outside he didn’t allow any sign to show he still talked to them as he made certain that his life revolved more around the restaurant his family owned. To this end the rumors died down and physical world affairs took a turn for the better. Hell even Anthony sometimes could forget about the spirits and act as though he didn’t hear them every now and again. But every time he’d do that it’d only last so long and eventually he’d be drawn back to talking to them again albeit following the rules he’d set up prior to make sure that no one else heard him. And for a time this was his cycle. On and off with the spirits around, focusing on the restaurant that by this point he was managing with his parents, or even for his parents on the days that their age was catching up to them.
During this continuous cycle however Anthony started to get a bit concerned about his lack of growth. Normally one gets better at doing something, anything, when you put time into it. And in this case Anthony thought he should be able to start seeing and interacting more with the spirits. The fact was Anthony was never around anyone who could train him and even the spirits around couldn’t point him in any real direction to fix this which lead him to start dabbling in necromancy. Now he didn’t invoke any sacrifices or anything extreme like that but small rituals he could host in his room or in the ruins that could help him see grow at least a bit spiritually is about as far as he’d go. Though this never was caught on by his family or those around him rumors did start up yet again of someone going around and trying to do “satanic” rituals at the sites around Rome. He did eventually stop as the more he did the rituals the more people got involved and he’d heard that even the cops were coming close to starting up an investigation over the “graffiti” and “defacing of national property”.
Anthony, 20 years old at this point was starting to get just a tad more desperate for an answer as a thought arose, a small insignificant one that challenged him to consider that perhaps he was only ever speaking to himself. That his mind may have been making up the entire thing as a facade for him to deal with the loneliness he felt with most people. However part of him knew he couldn’t have made up even half the conversations let alone the multitude of different voices, tones, and even the complex sentences in latin that he’d grown accustomed to hearing. But this only ignited an internal battle for him to strive that much harder to grow spiritually so that he could prove to himself which was correct. Because for the past decade he hadn’t gotten an answer and he’d not experienced a change whatsoever. Though he didn’t do any rituals in the ruins anymore he doubled, even tripled his efforts in his apartment and tried to interact with the spirits as much as he could in his free time.
None of that mattered however as he’d need the help and interaction of another being and that wouldn’t come until he was 23. On a night in the middle of October Anthony finally met Loreian. Loreian though a spirit, as far as Anthony was concerned, completely threw him for a loop. The first most noticeable aspect being he could feel Loreian without even trying the second thing was he could hear Loreian as clear as day where with other spirits he sometimes struggled. All this was ironic however considering Loreian was about as weak as his initial time as a hollow, maybe even less so given he was practically on death’s door. Unable to consume others to regain his strength and in fact it seemed like he was losing strength every day that passed. Unbeknownst to Anthony Loreian couldn’t even harm Anthony if he really wanted to he was that weak at this point in his life.
Anthony however would never realize this however as Loreian was as clever as he was old and within a few minutes of their meeting had learned of Anthony’s quest to gain power to see and interact with those around him. To find his answer as to if he was really surrounded by those from another realm or if he was just in a some self made facade to keep his emotional duress at bay. If only Anthony could have seen the look on Loreian’s face, he practically smiled at how easy it would be to manipulate this babe. This child who didn’t even comprehend who or more importantly what he was talking with and what he’d do when the time would come. However for the time being Loreian could gain a great deal from Anthony if he was smart and aided him in his quest, such a simple request was in fact within his ability so long as he could merge with him and that’s exactly what he did. Loreian offered Anthony his eyes, his ability to interact with those of both the spiritual and physical planes and even mentor him along the way if he was willing to allow him to merge with him.
One can imagine Anthony didn’t hesitate but a second, never fully comprehending that had just agreed to make himself as vulnerable as humanly possible to an arrancar that had every intention of consuming him when he was able. But for Anthony that night gave him the answer he had seeked for years and a sense of relief that couldn’t be given by anyone around him. The process itself took only a couple hours but by the end of it Anthony was able to have a glimpse of Loreian’s form as an arrancar before it fully merged with him. The form of an old man, a king or some sort of royalty but one that was struggling to even keep himself up from the sheer amount of injuries that covered his entire body. To both’s surprise however when Loreian merged with Anthony he hadn’t realized that all the souls he’d consumed and that were at his beck and call had to merge with Anthony also otherwise he’d never be able to feed off of Anthony’s energy.
A major setback but one that had to be done so he could regain his prior abilities to the fullest and as such he sat patiently within Anthony’s soul fulfilling his end of their agreement as well as doing everything in his power to merge Anthony fully with every soul he owned. Loreian’s life by this point turned into something of a busy but straightforward job while Anthony was experiencing the peak of what he felt life had to offer. He had a wise and equally patient teacher that could talk to him over many things on the spiritual side as well as help him learn to interact with those he was merging with. And most importantly he had his answer, the sheer number of spirits that were around in the ruins was incredible. Anthony couldn’t even believe he’d ever doubted himself though as time went by he ended up seeing less and less of the spirits he’d wanted to interact with and more with the spirits that Loreian owned, or as he put it was responsible for.
To anyone else however they never knew what the spark was but they could tell something had changed and it seemed for the better. Anthony was smiling more, less secretive about his nightly activities and hell he wasn’t even going to the ruins as often anymore. It looked like for all intents and purposes he was finally getting himself together and potentially going to finally step forward with his life to take over the restaurant from his parents. Hell he even had a steady, healthy relationship with another going during these last two years of his life. Anthony was at his peak and it seemed like nothing on this planet or the next could stop him. Life was only all too willing to show him just how fragile he really was despite all the “good” that had come his way from interacting with Loreian and his companions. This show was in the form of his death.
Anthony by this point and time had finished merging with all the souls and Loreian was finally enjoying a time of peace where he could rest within Anthony. Anthony at this point was having yet another internal dialogue with one of the spirits and wasn’t giving his full attention to what was happening around him. This resulted in him getting run over by a drunk driver that hadn’t even realized he was driving not only double the speed limit but without any lights on. Anthony didn’t stand a chance and died instantly with the man in question only running over him before driving off in a hurry. Anthony had only a few moments to realize what had happened before he was met by Cyrus Kuchiki, the shinigami on duty for that section of Rome that evening. Cyrus had seen this driver and was going to try and push Anthony out the way but had been slow to react before hand.
He wanted to explain what was going on but given Anthony had so many souls merged with him he radiated spiritual energy in spades. Enough that when his soul split from his body it couldn’t contain its presence anymore. Thus with a quick apology and a promise of finding him when he transferred over Cyrus quickly konso’d Anthony and sent him to the Rukongai. It took another 3 days before he found Anthony again but given he wasn’t able to hide his spiritual energy when he was finally nearby it wasn’t terribly difficult to pinpoint him out. However there were more problems now that Cyrus hadn’t realized prior to his konso’ing Anthony. Anthony had lost almost all his memories as a human and didn’t even remember where he was from. He pretty much could only remember his name, a vague memory of an old man, and Cyrus’s promise. Beyond that Anthony was basically a child who had been thrown to the wolves and was terrified to near death because of it.
It reminded Cyrus of his own transition to the Soul Society. He’d been one of the fortunate few to remember his death and previous life but even that didn't’ prepare him for what all he was going to face in the Soul Society. It took many years of building a place for himself in the Rukongai and finally building up the confidence to try for the academy so that he could at least try to be more than an anxiety filled plus. Subsequently that was where he met his wife who only helped him further and brought about a sense of peace for him he hadn’t had in years. With this in mind Cyrus offered Anthony a place to stay, at least for one night so that he could fill him in on what all was happening to him. And hopefully to give him some sort peace with the current events that involved him.
As one can expect Anthony was only all too willing to have another’s guidance with everything going on around him at this point. It would only be later that night that he’d realize he was being invited to stay at not just any nobles house but the highest of all nobles, the Kuchiki. The rest of that day went as smooth as could be expected. The trip to the manner had been long but had given Anthony time to start understanding just where he was at and what Cyrus was as well as who he worked for. It was a lot to take in but given the strangeness of the current situation Anthony was in no position to argue and in fact practically took everything at face value. Once they arrived at the manner he finally took care of a few basic personal needs such as cleaning himself and was brought to meet the lady of the house.
Hisano Kuchiki. Ex-shinigami and noble woman with all the charm and strength that came from both. While at first Anthony was utterly intimidated by her that quickly changed as Hisano was very quick to respond with care to his circumstances. She even managed to take care of the minor injuries and such given she’d previously been apart of squad 4 as it’s 5th seat until the clan’s demands became too much for her to manage with her job as a shinigami. It wasn’t long before Hisano understood the situation both from Anthony and her husband’s explanations. Anthony was basically a child who had only recently died and hadn’t even had the chance to come to terms with the fact he’d died. It was pitiable and although Hisano did what she could to not pity Anthony it couldn’t be helped. Her heart was pulled and he want to help in some way was strong but she had to consider her position, even if she wasn’t a very prominent noblewoman, she was still just that. Her decisions reflected upon the kuchiki and as such she’d have to be very careful about how she went about this.
For the time being she and Cyrus made every effort to comfort and aid Anthony before sending him off to rest for the time. Once Anthony was finally deep in the throes of sleep Cyrus brought his idea to Hisano. He wanted to adopt Anthony. Yes he was a bit “old” if only in appearance to adopt but the fact was he really was the equivalent of a child and a child with no memories to boot. There was also the matter of his immense potential that was still radiating even as he slept though it was more contained. If he was trained and raised well, which Cyrus firmly believed they each could do, he would make not only an excellent son but an excellent Kuchiki. He’d just need a little bit of effort and work put in and given the way Anthony was currently Cyrus was certain Anthony wouldn’t object to the offer. Hisano though she agreed on all points was more hesitant if only because she had to think of the implications of this. Certainly it wasn’t unusual to be done but was it right for them to pull Anthony into yet another world when he’d just been thrust into the spiritual?
Eventually Hisano came to the conclusion it was both in their best interest and his own to at least give him the offer. However she made it explicitly clear the choice would be Anthony's not theirs. Their answer the next morning was as Cyrus expected, Anthony practically jumped on the offer before it was even fully mentioned. To him he’d have the space and help he’d need to get on his feet and more than enough time to fully come to terms with this “Soul Society” that he would now be apart of. Though for the time being Hisano would have to take care of the necessary paperwork and formal processes as Cyrus was still a shinigami and had duties to fulfill. With this in mind they started the process and within a few month’s Anthony was accepted and integrated into the noble house as it’s newest edition under the care of Hisano and Cyrus. From there his learning to be a proper noble and training to become a Soul Reaper began.
It was rough initially. There were many rules spoken and unspoken now that Anthony was a noble and represent the Kuchiki’s wherever he was at. He had to change his entire mindset so that while around others of the family he would be respectable and show he could be just as much a Kuchiki even if he wasn’t apart of the legitimate bloodline itself. That however was nothing compared to his physical and spiritual training however. That may as well have been the bane of Anthony’s existence as he had no idea how to even hold a sword properly nor fight in any real capacity with or without a weapon. And Anthony was by no means a fast learner it took him years before things finally started clicking and he was able to find his groove. His first being when he initially handled a straight sword instead of a katana. His next when he saw just what all Hisano had to deal with in paperwork alone not including the family meetings or other duties she had to the family. The gravity of everything about the Kuchiki’s and the family he was apart of hit him almost entirely around the same time and only fueled him to push harder to be as worthwhile as he was possible.
20 years later and he was finally ready. Ready to go to the academy and start taking his first steps to being what he considered “useful” to the clan and not some deadweight freeloader. The classes, instructors and even his fellow students were tough on him if only because he was a “noble” and that he was “pampered” all his life. Granted it wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle or that he hadn’t already done in the years prior to his time at the academy but the standards and bars that he had to meet were the difficult part. As time would pass however things would get easier if only because his dedication and surprisingly down to earth personality showed how different he was from the typical noble. Hell even the other nobles attending the academy were surprised not only as his attitude but also his ability to bring those of all walks of life together. By the end of his time though he didn’t get the highest marks or any special awards he’d been in the top echelon of the class and had earned the respect and kindness of those around him. His ability to work with people and work hard even reached those in the first squad who’d eventually helped push to bring him into that squad.
Finally Anthony could start his path to the top. His path to give back everything he was given and more to the family that had picked him up when he was at his lowest. To make himself known as both a respectable Kuchiki but also a strong and able bodied shinigami as well as person. He knew it wouldn’t be easy especially in squad 1 given he was literally answering to the captain commander but he wasn’t going to let that get to him. It was merely a bigger stage for him to display his talents, especially considering that he was one of the few nobles to actually make it into that squad. With that thought in mind he made his way towards his squad’s barracks intent on making his mark on the Soul Society through it.

-Personality-
Dislikes:

-Powers-
Fighting Style:

-History-
Birthplace:
