((This is a JT between Jak and Yoko. Yoko is training for CTP.))
By this point in her career, Yoko Kusanagi was a pretty well known figure in Uzaki Enterprises. Sure, she was no Kazura, but she’d gotten to know at least most of the staff on a personal level. She and Luke had gone off for training in the wilderness. Marcus and her had gone a few rounds. She’d been the figruative shadow of the leader, whether he wanted her to be there so much or not, for quite a few years at the start of the organization. Hell, at this point she was appearing on TV for protecting people from “terrorist attacks” at the beach or in Osaka. Her reputation had started to get out there, but there were still plenty of people she needed to meet within her own organization.
In a world where a lot of people were only out for themselves, Yoko had taken on the role of “team mom” within Uzaki Enterprises to some degree. She had a respectable amount of strength, even if she was outclassed by some, but that was paired with a calm mind and a concern for the safety of her coworkers. Sure, sometimes her concern was expressed as “I’m worried that you’re so weak it’ll cost me my life to save your bitch ass” but the concern was definitely there! She had reached out to some members already in an effort to beef them up and overcome their struggles, Luke having been the most prominent example as of late.
Why had she done this though? What motivated her to care? At the end of the day, it all came back to the mission. Her purpose in Karakura. Her purpose in life itself. Yoko had always envisioned herself as something of a hero, and even if she had a rocky start, that was the role she intended to play. Sure, it wasn’t always glamorous, but her goal was to protect and serve. She’d been through two tours in the Middle East. One against Al-Qaeda and another against ISIS with the same reasoning in mind. That got a lot less personal publicity, but it had made people safer all the same. Even though she didn’t know the people it helped most it had made her feel good.
So why then had she reached out to Jak Halcom? He was a man with very little on his record, but what was there indicated a lot of potential. Yoko knew what some of the heavy hitters in the world could do to those who weren’t prepared, and in Jak she saw someone who wasn’t prepared. Maybe it was just because he didn’t file reports often. Who knows? All she really had to go on about this guy was what was in his file, and frankly that wasn’t very much at all. It was possible he was a lot more active outside the organization or something, but Yoko could only pre-emptively judge him by the organizational knowledge that existed about him. Seeing to fill in those gaps, she had sent a message to the man.
For the second time in as many weeks, the Fullbringer had actually decided to wear one of her cute outfits. It was weird for her, as she normally dressed utilitarian and like a dude. A white sweater and blue muffler covered her upper half. As for the lower half it was made decent by a short blue skirt, black leggings, and a light brown pair of comfortable leather boots that went halfway up her calves. She wasn’t sure what it was lately, but she had felt like she could relax a little bit more. Maybe it was just because Uzaki Enterprises had grown more powerful and she didn’t need to worry about it so much. Whatever it was, some of her feminine side had finally started to emerge after getting back to Karakura.
Whether he showed up or not, Yoko made her way to the underground training room and went through her morning routine. For some time she meditated for clarity and focus. Her mind emptied of all thoughts and emotions. Once she had reached emptiness, she switched gears and began to practice her forms. Each move was already well rehearsed. Every kick and swing she threw was one she had done thousands of times before. And yet still she practiced them. There was no such thing as perfect. She trained daily to ensure she at least maintained her current level of skill, and hopefully to continue to better herself. Today was half-assed though. Her strikes delivered at only normal human speed. She didn’t want to tire herself out in case Jak decided to show up.

Jak, this is Yoko. You’ve probably seen me around at headquarters by now, but I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure of meeting yet. I’d like to fix that. You see, I’m putting together a team. A group to protect Karakura and the world beyond it from all the threats of the spiritual world. With all the deaths we still see it’s clear that the Shinigami need backup, and that’s where I come in. But I can’t do it alone. I think you’ve got what it takes to make a difference in the world. If you agree, or if you just wanna try to punch me in the face for sending you a message or something, meet me in the underground training room at Uzaki Enterprises HQ.
