An idea I had after hearing all the complaints about types. I'm sure the numbers are off, but it was a general though that could replace most of the 'Non-Special' types. Just a way for more diverse characters. Let me know what you think. Opinions would be appreciated.
Type: Unsatisfied
Description: Someone who couldn't stand for traditional methods, and chose to break off from the norm. Every class, this type gains the option to boost any of their stats by a certain percent.
Advantage:
Rank 1: For every class, you get one counter, that can be put into any stat. Stats increase any stat by 5% per counter.
Rank 2: For every class, you get one counter, that can be put into any stat. Stats increase any stat by 10% per counter.
Rank 3: For every class, you get one counter, that can be put into any stat. Stats increase any stat by 20% per counter.
Rank 4: For every class, you get one counter, that can be put into any stat. Stats increase any stat by 30% per counter.
Disadvantage:
Rank 2 and up: For every two counters, you must put one negative counter on a stat, not Energy Sensory or Healing Expertise. Negative counters act as a 20% stat reduction.
Race Restrictions: Available to all Races
Initial Weapons: One Starting Weapon (i.e. one Zanpakutō, one Doll, etc.)

It's a good idea for flexible design, but an extra counter per class is probably too much. It'd probably work just scaling off rank, with the negitive tokens as the drawback.
Yeah, you're right. Didn't think about how high extra coulters would give. Using counters as the term since I don't want to just call them boosts outright.

The whole idea behind this type counteracts the purpose of types. You're not supposed to be able to have as flexible of a build as you like. In existing types, more flexibility is balanced via drawbacks (ex. support and fighter V2). Plus, the numbers that you have listed are pretty rediculous. If I had a class 1 rank 4 character, I can boost an offensive stat by 320% without any drawbacks. There's a lot wrong with this type.
That's the point, the types are just so restricting, forcing you to mold your character around it instead of molding your stats around your character. With this, you get more freedom to make your character what you want them to be. And, if you put all your 'counters' into a single stat, then you're lacking on other areas. Also, added drawbacks, but if you wanted to help with the numbers, I'd gladly listen.

Or instead, you pick a type and stats to suit the character?
With so many types available, MOST niche's can be filled. Including types that excel without any serious statistical drawback (Genius type most notably).
Also, the problem with this type is also that not all stats are created equal. What stops someone throwing all their "negative counters" onto a stat like Healing Expertise and then putting a 0 in HE, thus completely nullifying the purpose of the drawbacks in the first place?
If you feel that there is not actually a type to suit your character you can always MAKE one for them, like I did with Col (Prodigy version 2), like our former member, Kid did with Aimo (Soul Specialist v2), like Royce did for Adalo (Freak), and I'm pretty sure there's been at least a few other cases of it. If a niche is not being filled, by all means fill it.
But if you want a type of extreme flexibility, that's what Soldier type is for. Or Leader, if you qualify for it.

Leader, too hard to get for most people, soldier, doesn't feel strong enough to be relevant, and I'm just not satisfied with the type system overall.
Genius is another one, that actually has very few statistical drawbacks.
As for Soldier not feeling strong enough-- One of the strongest characters on the site (Kuroi Naito) is a Soldier type. As is Rio Demoniogalgo, the Quinta Espada. Soldier is a VERY powerful type if used right.
The type system plays very much with giving equal strength to weakness ratio. The more powerful a type is in one area, the weaker it is in others. But those weaknesses have to still be meaningful. A type that gives 100% flexibility negates the purpose of almost any other type. If a type's drawbacks are minimal then its strengths should ALSO be minimal, no?
What exactly is it that your character needs that a current type doesn't offer? If you can suggest what he needs that there is not current type for, we can help either direct you to one, or help you BUILD one for the character.

Genius, is also attainable to anyone not rank 3. Also, Kuroi Naito is an arrancar with 2300 sp. He already has far more sp than the majority of characters, and limitless reiatsu when released.
