The Kuchikis maintain their place at the top, but the Shihoin are now both an ally and rival, more than capable of exerting tremendous influence. They are the Two Great Noble Families. During this time, an existing minor family called the Shiba gains a new head whose goal it is to expand. He and his family have been craftsmen for many years, and their ingenuity in creating tools and weapons allows them to form a contract with the Thirteen Court Guard Squads itself. Because of this exclusive military contract, they quickly gain a huge sum of money and begin reinvesting it in businesses, land, and manufacturing. Though competition is tough because of the Kuchiki head start and Shihoin assassinations, the Shiba family manages to make its way to be just strong enough to claim it is above the rest, while also being of no significant threat to the Shihoin. Still, by the 15,000th year of Soul Society, they are the Three Great Noble Families.
In this 15,000th year, an existing family called the Kasumi'Oji Family, which now announces its first official "noble Head," desires more power. Like the Shiba, they use primarily military contracts. Except that these contracts are just a front for their weapon construction. The Shiba are highly favored in tool and weapon contracting, and so the Kasumi'Oji family, to make more money, begin selling their weapons illegally to criminals and underground organizations, including in the human world. Using this, they buy up small amounts of land and business, but tend to favor primarily brothels and casinos, both of which are highly lucrative. They also engage in underground drug trading, resulting in their reputation as criminals. Still, within a couple thousand years there are Four Great Noble Families.
Now we arrive at year 20,000, roughly. The Kawadas are founded. Unlike any family before them, they use what Soul Reapers come from their minor nobility to invest in spiritual businesses in the human world, and accumulate wealth through this. This keeps them as a minor stand-out for some thousands of years. Right now, the Kuchikis possess their strongest Head ever to live, Seijuro Kuchiki, who is the Captain Commander, and whose son is the Squad 6 Captain. Still, we have tensions, but mostly stability for a few thousand years.

While all Great Noble Families and all Captains know about the prison system, none are aware of its nefarious nature, even to this day.

During the war against Azeru Cho, he proved the utility of his gadgets and inventions, the genius of his science. He also proved his Captain level strength when he killed an Espada without even releasing Shikai.
An Arrancar who claims to be an Espada of the "New Las Noches" soon appears in Soul Society and decimates the Kawada family lands and goods, as well as killing more than half of their clansmen. He also kills Kochikochi Kawada. Jinbei Kawada is too old to take the stage, so his second son, Uezama, does it. It is only because of Uezama, however, that the Kawadas fell to the Arrancar. It was Uezama who disabled their defenses in the hopes that his brother would die so that not only could Uezama succeed him, but that Uezama could marry his brother's bride afterward. After Kochikochi's death, his son Shade Kawada is born. Uezama's ineffective reign after the devastation the Kawadas undergo leads to rapid degradation. Soon there is again only one Great Noble Family, the Kuchikis.

Sonken Kouhai one day uses the extra security measures he had built into Seireitei to betray his former allies. He kills the AU versions of Unohana, Shunsui, and Kyoraku. He also kills the current Kuchiki Head, Onuya Kuchiki.
He leaves, assuming place as King of Las Noches with the new Espada at his beck and call.

He then sets to work having current Quincy Leader Shauna Melody, high profile humanw orld figure Death-Sama, and others assassinated. Xcution is founded.
Vizard Leader Zouma Santeku arrives in Soul Society to rescue captured Vizard comrades. They are killed. In a rage, he kills the 34th Captain Commander.
Sozen Kuchiki returns to Soul Society and as his first mission, kills Zouma Santeku and obliterates the Vizards. He takes the reigns of Kuchiki Head. Soon after, Shade Kawada becomes Kawada Head.

The Ogatago and Game Master, a monstrous threat from Hell, appear and the Tridential Conflict, a war between factions of all three worlds, begins. It is soon over. Okami soon returns and becomes Shihoin Head after this, and Shade Kawada is killed in battle and replaced by brother Kenryoku, who is son not of Kochikochi but Uezama. Following it is the War of Angels against the Vandenreich. This is won by Soul Society, though at the cost of Kasu Head Azumi, who is replaced by sister Taiho, and the cost of Kenryoku, who is replaced by cousin Katrina. Due to Kenryoku's death and some negotiations by Sozen, the Omnitsukido are returned to the Shihoin family, though to this day many bear loyalty to the Kawadas.
Some time during all of this, Takashi Kuchiki defects from the Kuchikis and genocides the entire Shiba Family to prove his worth to Sonken Kouhai, his new master. In actuality, and known to none except for himself and Sozen Kuchiki, Takashi's betrayal was orchestrated by Sozen. He is against Kouhai as a double agent for Sozen. Yet he is a triple agent, in reality spying on Sozen and Kouhai both for the Arrancar Kuroi Naito.
The veteran of the Heads, Sozen Kuchiki has now been Captain for almost 10 years. He calls a meeting of Heads Okami (and Shihoin Heir Kimiko), Taiho, and Katrina. Here, the Shihoin regain their land. Next, the return of an icon, Shokan Kawada. The Shihoin are soon back on their A-game and have 3 Captains, rivaling the Kuchikis. This is the strongest the Shihoin have ever been. Shokan Kawada, hoping to once again restore Kawada glory, is said to be in line to replace Katrina as Head.

For a few years, the Kuchikis have no Head, and their executive decisions are made by their elder council. Due to a high volume of powerful members and great infrastructure, they are able to continue to exist as a Great Noble Family.
For a few years, peace. And then no more. The return of Satsujun, once known as the prisoner Husk, formerly the second Captain Commander of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. He conquers Soul Society, but is later defeated with the aid of the Zero Division, and stripped of his Soul Reaper powers. He escapes to the human world using Saigo, where he temporarily goes into hiding and then returns after he gains Fullbring. He then sets to work having current Quincy Leader Shauna Melody, high profile humanw orld figure Death-Sama, and others assassinated. Xcution is founded.
Vizard Leader Zouma Santeku arrives in Soul Society to rescue captured Vizard comrades. They are killed. In a rage, he kills the 34th Captain Commander.
Sozen Kuchiki returns to Soul Society and as his first mission, kills Zouma Santeku and obliterates the Vizards. He takes the reigns of Kuchiki Head. Soon after, Shade Kawada becomes Kawada Head.
Under Shade, the Omnitsukido comes to be totally dominated by the Kawadas, who once again surpass the Shihoin in strength. The Kuchikis grow enormously, and soon have five Captains in the Thirteen Court Guard Squads--the strongest any family has been in history. Rumor has it that more than half of the Central 46 is in Sozen's pocket. The Ogatago and Game Master, a monstrous threat from Hell, appear and the Tridential Conflict, a war between factions of all three worlds, begins. It is soon over. Okami soon returns and becomes Shihoin Head after this, and Shade Kawada is killed in battle and replaced by brother Kenryoku, who is son not of Kochikochi but Uezama. Following it is the War of Angels against the Vandenreich. This is won by Soul Society, though at the cost of Kasu Head Azumi, who is replaced by sister Taiho, and the cost of Kenryoku, who is replaced by cousin Katrina. Due to Kenryoku's death and some negotiations by Sozen, the Omnitsukido are returned to the Shihoin family, though to this day many bear loyalty to the Kawadas.
Some time during all of this, Takashi Kuchiki defects from the Kuchikis and genocides the entire Shiba Family to prove his worth to Sonken Kouhai, his new master. In actuality, and known to none except for himself and Sozen Kuchiki, Takashi's betrayal was orchestrated by Sozen. He is against Kouhai as a double agent for Sozen. Yet he is a triple agent, in reality spying on Sozen and Kouhai both for the Arrancar Kuroi Naito.
The veteran of the Heads, Sozen Kuchiki has now been Captain for almost 10 years. He calls a meeting of Heads Okami (and Shihoin Heir Kimiko), Taiho, and Katrina. Here, the Shihoin regain their land. Next, the return of an icon, Shokan Kawada. The Shihoin are soon back on their A-game and have 3 Captains, rivaling the Kuchikis. This is the strongest the Shihoin have ever been. Shokan Kawada, hoping to once again restore Kawada glory, is said to be in line to replace Katrina as Head.
But, quickly, things go awry again.
The Kasumi'Oji Family loses its Head to a human world enemy. Shokan Kawada disappears once more, and the Kawada family comes under siege by Squad 2 Captain Harle, seeking to make it hers. The Shihoin grow in strength, marking two Captains and a few other members, with one former Captain. The Kasumi'Oji Family also begins to rise in strength with notable members such as Himitsu and July. The Kawadas revel in nothingness, though rumors fly of an Heir who yet still breathes. The Kuchikis are now at 3 Captains, but one ZEI member, one in Central 46's Golden Six, and powerful Lieutenants, including Sozen's children. Their power is secure.
So that is where we are now.
Three Great Noble Families, the disgraced Kawadas, and a dark time for all as Sozen Kuchiki, who has outlived the other Heads of the other nobilities and survived three unimaginable wars, grows darker and more ruthless, more oppressive to those whom he does not favor.
