Quest Name: London Bridge is Falling Down
Who can participate?: Raion Souretsu, Shizu Toraumi, and Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao
Quest Time Frame: As long as needed; 4+ pages anticipated
Quest Setting (NDE/DE): DE
Quest Synopsis:
In London, England, women have been vanishing for the eight days, one per day, only to be found murdered on the next. The murdered women all have one immediate fact in common, and an interesting one that draws suspicion to them: they are all simple prostitutes. However, the fact of the matter is that each of these women has been killed in an unnatural manner that suggests a spiritual being behind them. It was initially suspected to be a Hollow, given that the souls did not pass properly to Soul Society, but the manner in which they died suggests something more. For the time being, this incident has been labeled “The Second Coming of the Ripper,” in homage to the former criminal, Jack the Ripper. They have a similar modus operandi, so it seems appropriate.
Raion Souretsu has been assigned to this mission as its supervisor, partially for his ability to analyze the murderer's movements and determine his next move, but also partially to get the lion out of Soul Society for a while; lacking a mission of late, the Captain's antics have grown almost exponentially of late; the Gotei has decided to make use of the feline's excess of energy and directed him to head this investigation as an excuse to recover, offering whatever resources that Raion might need for his task. For reasons that others do not understand, the Captain has commandeered the services of Squad 10's Captain, Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao, and a relatively new Shinigami from the Omnitsukido, Shizuyoko Toraumi. He has also brought along his personal assistant, Tomoe Ikoma. Many suspect the lion's usual lechery, given his choice of three females, but it's possible that there's more to this than meets the eye...
Maximum Number of Participants: Three, slots taken.
Overall Goal: Capture the murderer.
Number of missions involved: Five
BASIC Synopsis of each Quest mission:
Mission 1: The Hunt Begins (Easy) – The members are to come together and get to know one another briefly over a mission debriefing, and then are required to go out and investigate the murders. Two new crime scenes have been discovered, increasing the number of deaths to ten, and those in charge of the investigation will split up to explore them.
Mission 2: When in London, Do as the Harlots (Easy-Medium) – The purpose behind Raion's choice of subordinates has become clear, and though his methods are more than a little wanton, the purpose behind them is obvious. Those chosen to act as bait are to position themselves not far from a murder scene in order to possibly draw the attention of the murderer. But when trouble comes knocking, will they be able to survive?
Mission 3: Petals in the Blood (Medium) – Another life has been taken! This time, however, one of the investigators is on the scene, and the murderer must be kept busy until the others arrive to assist in the confrontation. However, this task is made much more difficult by life-like mannequins woven of wood and vine, which attempt to block the Shinigami at every turn.
Mission 4: On That Dark and Stormy Night (Medium-Hard) – After an unsuccessful capture, the party returns to their quarters for the night to plan anew. Raion and Tomoe fight, and the latter storms out into the night. When she doesn't return, Raion plans to go investigate, taking his subordinates with him. Will they find her safe and angry, or will she be another corpse to add to the list?
Mission 5: A Dance with Beautiful Death (Hard) – After cornering the murderer and dealing with more of his mannequins, the party manages to for the man into a true fight. However, after discovering the true identity of the murderer, the whole scenario changes for the worst; how can one stand up against a foe capable of fighting on equal terms with the Espada by himself? Nonetheless, they have to try; a life hangs in the balance.
