"Not with that fucking price tag" She muttered under her breath, passing through various external hardrives that were over the top in their price, although Haida knew she would have to either settle for something in this aisle, the clearance aisle, or scourer the shopping district and pray to find a more reasonably priced piece of equipment for her laptop. She was currently wearing it around her shoulder, keeping one hand on it in a defensive manner as she always did. The programmer had finally successfully gotten the check to be accepted, even though she received it a week ago the bank's system would always seem to make it bounce. Her other hand was currently to her mouth as she halfheartedly chewed on her nails, anxious about the odds of having some major mishap today as she usually did on shopping days. Haida put her hand down to search through the bargain bin, idly scanning for any deals on a terabyte or more of hardrive memory, although the more she searched the less it seemed that she would be able to buy something that useful without coughing up sufficient amounts of dough. Perfect, I wonder if this has anything to do with my outstanding life-long 'lucky' streak. Haida let out a sigh as she gave up on getting something inexpensive and settled for the cheapest one she could find and proceeded to the check-out.
Her left hand held the bag with the external hardrive as she left for the exit, the automatic door opened, yet it wasn't for her, it was for another passerby, yet instead of passing her by, they had collided with her, head on. The force of the accidental collision disheveled the bag from Haida's grasp, and it flew into the air, along with the peaceful sense of mind Haida was once in; her eyes widened as she saw the bag escape her reach, yet she still had to try and grab it. Haida pushed herself backwards and in the air with her feet as she desperately clawed her outstretched hand for the bag, her right hand was busy clutching her laptop bag to her chest to protect the contents inside from harm, yet to all of her quick thinking her bagged purchase still went outside of her range, and fell to the ground with a shattering noise; should of bought the warranty. Haida would have thought that, but she had more pressing problems on her mind at the moment, like the fact that she just hit her head on one of the counters, adding insult to injury.
"Shit!" She let out a swear in pain, although she would of probably said the same after getting up and seeing the state of her purchase. She sat there for a moment after landing, rubbing the spot in which she had been hit, no bleeding, thankfully, but she could feel that it would probably hurt in the morning. With the concern of the safety of her purchase and her well-being crushed, she turned her attention to the person on the other end of the unfortunate series of events. Sure, they didn't have any intent in trying to cause this inconvenient catastrophe, but she still felt as if they were responsible at least somewhat for what happened. She got up and shot them a glare. "Well, I see you're doing just fine from that." She stated, a tone of bitterness clear in her voice.
