Standing at the end of the meeting room to the group of Las Noches known as the Espada was the Tercera. Sargon since joining the small group of somewhat powerful Arrancar that were meant to combat and destroy Soul Society had been ordered to do nothing. That much made no difference since Sargon wouldn't have actually listened out of loyalty. The only thing that actually had occurred right after his joining was an attack on the Quincy Palace. That was months ago now and Sargon had grown unimaginably bored of Las Noches. No one here sought to grow in strength or to kill everyone was lazy and just content to stay put believing that they were strong.

Since all of these feelings were rushing throughout him over the last week or so more then normal Argon had made the decision to attack Soul Society whether Kouhai gave permission or not. It didn't matter to the Tercera. Sargon felt that bringing along some of the others might lead to more of the Captains of Soul Society arriving on he battle field. So he had sent invitations to a select few that he felt would prove to be formidable while at the same time needed to learn respect towards him and understand what true power could result in. Right now all of them had arrived and Sargon was turning to each with his arms crossed over his chest like normal as he starred at them sternly.

"Alright now that the three of you have arrived there is no more reason to waste time. Let's get going the sooner we get to Soul Society the sooner the entertainment begins." All of a sudden a garganta ripped open behind Sargon as he turned around an stepped through it. There was no doubt that the other three Ryun, Rio and Masa would follow through to Soul Society in their own garganta. Even if they did abandon the mission however that just meant that they were trash and he would incinerate them upon arriving back from his fun.

It didn't take long until the garganta ripped open in Soul Society and Sargon stepped through onto the roof of one of the giant pillars that seemed to be in row. Sargon looked around and saw the massive amount of buildings along with the other side of this bridge which had identical pillars on the other side. This place didn't matter though Sargon only felt that arriving here was a sign of good luck. Everything that his eyes were set on right now would soon be ash.

[Ryunosuke Hamada]

Ryunosuke frowned. "Wow. No offense, but that was a pretty shitty pep talk, as far as pre combat speeches go. Sure wasn't 'Canceling the Apocalypse', or 'Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war'." Unfortunately, he did't speak fast enough, and Sargon had already teleported by the time he was halfway through his speech. He rolled his eyes. People these days underestimated the importance of a good amount of showmanship. Ryunosuke prided himself in being a theatrical, yet effective, individual.

Before the other Arrancar could teleport as well, Ryunosuke held up a hand, as if asking them to stand down. There was a decent chance that the remaining two would listen, since he outranked them, but worst case scenario, the speech would be for himself. "I don't have to tell you guys that we're powerful. Fuck that, we know that already. That's why we're here, why we've survived this long: because we've beaten down and fucking devoured all of our competition. So, I'm not gonna waste time psyching you up that we are more than capable of breaking these losers in half.

"However, one thing I do need to say: this is the big leagues. This isn't us just eating a Shinigami that tries to poke his head into our turf, this is us going to their doorstep and fucking shit up. Rio, you've done this before, right? It's a whole 'nother experience, and one that's fucking fun. Or so I've heard. We're gonna kick some Shinigami ass, kill who we want, eat some others, burn down anything we see, and then we're going to come back here, and treat it as if it was just another fucking day. Because this is our lives. We are monsters, we are gods, and there is nothing that can stop us."

With that, Ryunosuke flashed a smile to his fellow comrades. "So without further ado:

Stepping out of the Garganta into Soul Society, Ryunosuke took a deep breath, feeling the difference in spiritual particles in the air. He hadn't teleported to be next to Sargon, but he was still nearby. Only about 500 feet away, on a rooftop where he could witness the scene. And get to it quickly, if he needed to. He had picked this building a few weeks ago, when he was last visiting Soul Society, and in fact had had his meeting below it. Ryunosuke stood on top of the Squad 8 barracks, and waited for something to happen.

[Masa Kumasaka]

"Is it really that time again?" Masa asked himself as he was behind the three in this black garganta. He closed his eyes and crossed his arms, listening to the Cuarta Espada speak. He had nothing against this Espada but he was rather annoyed with his long speech. He would remain silent the whole time because he didn't seem to care from what he mostly had to say. Of course though with respect, he was the WEAKEST Espada currently active. He would slowly open his eyes as the Cuarta Espada wishes them a farewell. He would then vanish off to his spot grumbling a bit but looking to the other Espada remaining. He would step near the exit, looking down at the view...

"So, this is the Soul Society? Much like Ancient Japan itself I see... It is a shame I have to scorch this place down. No matter, the shinigami must feel the wrath of Las Noches," from that point Masa would shut his own eyes. Taking a step out, he would too teleport out. It was almost like light speed when he slammed against the floor. He would open his eyes, looking around himself. He was far, far away from the two other of his comrades. He could feel their Spiritual Pressure but he could only tell they were far away. Masa was located anonymously around a dead distract. There was a long pathway with walls leaving them to turns after turns... It was almost like a maze around here.

He cracked his neck, "Great.... Nothing to destroy around here and it seems like there's nobody around. Hmmmm..." Masa would begin to travel down the pathway with a calming walking pace, "Better go to a Shinigami distract and blow their shit up to pieces then!"

OOC: Any Captain, you say? OK, wish granted. I'll see what I can muster up.

[Taihō Kasumi’Oji]

(OOC: It’s about time XD.)

IC: For quite some time now, Taihō Kasumi’Oji, Captain of Squad 8 and Head of the Kasumi’Oji Family, had been feeling somewhat on edge. She wasn’t nervous or anxious, really, just uneasy, as if she were waiting for an inevitable storm. In a sense, this wasn’t far from the truth. Not long ago, she had met with Ryunosuke Hamada, the Cuatra Espada, who had warned her of an impending attack. He had told her a good deal of information concerning who would comprise this attack, what their targets would be, and what their overall goal would be. What he hadn’t told her, of course, was when this attack was coming.

Of course, minor details like this were far from sufficient to seriously trouble Taihō. Almost immediately following the conclusion of her meeting, Taihō had begun constructing a plan of sorts, relaying information to her subordinates in order to prepare for the assault. After that, she set about preparing her fellow Captains for the attack. She had been cautious not to tell them to much, and tip their enemies off, but she had ensured that key individuals were aware that something was coming, and that they would be ready when the time came.

The first she had contacted was Kagami Murai. Although inexperienced, he was renowned as a brilliant strategist, and if the Seireitei had any hope of surviving this attack, they would need a solid defense strategy. Taihō had made a point of speaking to Captain Murai on a handful of occasions concerning defense against “Hypothetical” attacks, citing a concern that some factions would like to capitalize on Soul Societies weakness following the apocalyptic War of the Angels as her rational. She had asked his opinion on who would be best to defend against an attack, both to encourage his own thoughts on the matter, and to determine who she should next speak to.

Kagami had suggested a few names, some of which had aligned with Taihō’s own thoughts, and some of which had surprised her. Suggesting that Hotaru Kuchiki be involved was a rational idea, seeing as she was, in fact, the Captain of Squad 10, the defense squad. She was a skilled warrior, and while she lacked raw power, she also lacked crippling weaknesses, and had an almost unnerving degree of tenacity which would make her ideal for the protracted fight the coming battle promised to be. After speaking with Kagami, Taihō spent some time speaking to Hotaru, expressing concerns that the Seireitei’s defenses might not be able to withstand another assault.

Next was Rose, the rather mysterious Captain of Squad 4. Although Taihō had naturally thought to involve Rose in order to minimize casualties and keep the defender is fighting shape, Kagami’s suggestion that Rose take an active combat role had been surprising. However, his rational was sound, once Taihō thought about it; while certainly not a juggernaut, Rose had proven herself capable in combat, had a fair number of tricks at her disposal that would make her more than a match for many enemies. Taihō arranged a meeting between herself and Rose, ostensibly so they could get to know each other better, at which point she pointed out certain holes in the Seireitei’s defenses which Rose would be uniquely suited to fill, if it came down to it.

Kaijin “Harle” Quinn had been a surprise to Taihō. As Captain of Squad 2, her area of expertise revolved around espionage, sabotage and assassination, not defense. However, Taihō reminded herself that many of those skills could be equally useful in deterring an invasion; guerrilla tactics had been used innumerable times in the past to break attacking armies, striking where it hurt the worst then escaping before a proper reprimand could be launched. Taihō spoke to the Squad 2 Captain in private, discussing how her skills, often applied to offensive operations, were equally suited for defenses, should the need arise.

Alexander Kuma-Hebi had been the least surprising name suggested by Kagami. In terms of brute force, very few could hope to match him, and his bloodlust when faced with the enemy was legendary. Kagami’s discussion of how Alexander could fit into a defense strategy consisted, essentially, of “Point him at the enemy and stay out of his way.” Taihō had been the most direct with Alexander, since she felt beating around the bush and being subtle would be wasted on a man like him. She simply approached him one day and told him, to his face, “A powerful enemy is going to be attacking us soon. Be ready”. The anticipation of fighting a strong enemy, Taihō reasoned, would be all that was required to prepare Alexander for the coming invasion.

All of her comrades had been alerted to the impeding assault, some more subtly than others. While none of them knew exactly what was going to happen, they all knew that something was going to happen. Kagami was clever enough to know that if Taihō was concerned about defense, there was likely to be a good reason, and Hotaru knew Taihō well enough to know that if the Kasumi’Oji Head was concerned, it was probably a good idea for her to be concerned as well. Rose and Harle had both been told of how they might be able to help in the case of an attack, and given the current state of the Seireitei, it would likely lead them to consider just how likely that event actually was. And Alexander, well, he just knew that sometimes soon he was likely going to have a very entertaining fight on his hands. Frankly, that was probably all he needed or wanted, to know.

And so, when Taihō, sitting in her office, began to sense Arrancar Reiatsu signatures appearing around the Seireitei, she seemed remarkably at ease. Even when a particularly massive, and familiar, signature appeared just above her own barracks, she simply stood, and made her way outside. She paused just outside the door, and without looking over at her shoulder, spoke, ”Ryunosuke Hamada. You obviously put a great deal of trust in me, arriving directly above my office.” She paused, slowly extending her right arm out to her side. Even covered by the ludicrously long sleeves of her oversized Captain’s Haroi, it was clear she was holding her sword arm out, as if expecting a sword to just appear in her hand. And it did. In a flash of black Reiatsu, her seven-foot-long Zanpakuto, Mikadzuki, appeared in her hand, already free of it’s sheath. The blade seemed to draw in the light around it, such that a haze of shadow clung to the blade like an aura of death. ”However, our arrangement is still profitable to me. I will not attack you, if you do not attack me.” With that, and without waiting to give the Espada a chance to respond, Taihō began making her way toward the next most potent Reiatsu signature, while masking her own tot he point where even the most potent of sensros would be hard pressed to find her. According to Ryunosuke’s information, this individual would be Sargon Denumic, Tercera Espada. Despite his greater rank, he seemed markedly weaker than Ryunosuke, making Taihō wonder what other merits beyond raw power may have earned him his rank. She decided, as she walked as quietly as death's shadow toward her target, to find out what those merits might be.

There must be some reason why he would be ranked so highly…I’ll have to design some experiments to determine what those reasons may be… As Taihō though this in her own cold, calculating manner, she felt the violent emotions stirring in her own blade. Mikadzuki was a being born to kill. It was as simple as that. While some Zanpakuto Spirits would offer sage wisdom on the situation, or words of caution against attacking such a powerful enemy head on, Mikadzuki’s opinion on the matter could be best described as screaming gleefully at the promise of a drawn out, bloody fight.

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

Hotaru was now in her office at the Tenth Division. Her mind started to wander more than usual, her senses more alert. She listened more for running footsteps and when she heard them, she would stand up. She wanted to run towards the door but she would stand still, trying her best to look like she was moving to a certain corner of the room or something when her squad would come in. They would say their piece and leave, no one telling her anything that was too dire. Everything was fairly simple fixes, nothing too bad.

Though, she was now expecting something huge to happen. A few days ago, Taiho had come to her office. It was the first time that she had run into the new Head of the Kasumi'Oji family since the last noble gathering. When she first heard the captain's footsteps, she had just assumed that it was another member of her squad. No captain had come to her office directly, they had all sent messengers. Well, all but Kagami, who sent messengers half the time. But, with the history that the two Captains had, there was really no surprise that Kagami would drop by Hotaru's division to talk to her.

So, once the steps stopped, she asked what the question was or what they wanted to talk about. It was then that she really felt the strength of the reiatsu and looked up. When she realized who it was, she immediately stood up and gave a quick nod towards the other captain. Since they were at work and were both of equal rank, the nod should be enough, at least that's what Hotaru hoped. If they weren't at work, Hotaru's greeting would've been much different. Before Hotaru could really say anything, Taiho started to speak.

It seemed that Taiho was concerned about Seireitei's defenses. It was true that the war they had just finished took a toll on Seireitei and, she assumed, all the other groups that were involved. But, Taiho could have a point. They talked in some detail about it, looking over figures. Once Taiho had left, Hotaru poured over the diagrams they talked about and dispatched squads out to make sure the defenses of the Seireitei would be able to withstand other attacks while they were trying to recover from the war.

Though, Hotaru was curious. She never would've said anything while she was here with her, but for Taiho to come to her and ask about defenses, there was definitely something up. If Taiho was worried, Hotaru should be worried. Taiho, from what she saw, was calm and pretty assured about herself and worrying didn't seem like the thing she would be doing. So, ever since then, she kept herself on high alert. When the squads would report in to her, she was waiting for them to say that something had hit them hard and they needed her.

But that never came. So, Hotaru figured that she was starting to worry over nothing. It was then that she started to feel weird reiatsu signatures over the Seireitei. There was a very strong one close to where she was right now. She immediately ran out of her office, jumped to the roof and started to Shunpo to the closest reiatsu signature to her. The roof made it easier, since most shinigami would be on the ground. This way, she could make the trek quite easily. Once she arrived, she realized that the man was standing on the roof of the Eighth Division but Taiho wasn't there.

Hotaru figured that Taiho had left to deal with one of the other presences before this one arrived. She got closer to the man and started to notice a few odd things. His hair is silver in color, though she can't say much, since hers is purple. He was also wearing a suit, with a tie and everything. But, the closer she got to him, she could tell that he was powerful. While she walked closer to him, she unsheathed her blade, but kept it pointed down, at a forty-five degree angle between her arm and leg. Then, she saw the weird white part on the top of his head.

It looked like spikes jutting out of his scalp, but she didn't say anything. It obviously wasn't hurting him. It was then that she thought back to the one Arrancar that she had met, Zegram if she remembered correctly. She then assumed that this man must be an Arrancar as well. She had met other Arrancar, but Zegram was the first and was similar to this man standing in front of her. He wasn't actively attacking, but there must be some reason why the man was just standing here. She also figured these other weird signatures that she could barely feel were other Arrancar and he came with them.

Hotaru felt another reiatsu signature coming behind her and knew it well. It seemed like Kagami was coming to help her with whoever this is. Once Hotaru stood fifteen feet away from the man, she stopped. "I am Captain Hotaru Kuchiki with the Tenth Division of the Gotei Thirteen. I have no idea who you are, but what is your business here in the Seireitei? If I must, I will defend myself against you if you try anything." She gripped the hilt tighter, keeping her senses on alert and ready to move when she needed to.

Looks like it’s time.

Kagami had been waiting for this invasion for the past couple of weeks. Usually, he was never truly present in Soul Society, just a homunculus model after him created from a piece of his own soul. That way, he could take care of more immediate business as Douma while his duties as a Captain were also taken care of. Ever since Kagami had returned from ‘captivity’ and rejoined Soul Society as the head of the 13th Division, he had ensured that his activity as Douma never ceased and was never exposed.

However, when Taiho unexpectedly arrived at his office, he knew something was off. She seemed nervous. Not in her manner, of course. Taiho was a snake that hid her true thoughts and motives. However, Kagami’s high level of energy sensory gave him insight into her general emotional state and he saw very real and very urgent worry. When she discussed defense, Kagami realized that it was only because she knew of a future attack.

However, he didn’t speak about his true thoughts. She was hiding something for a reason, that much he knew. For now, it was best to play her game and go with the flow. Therefore, after a night of thought, he sent her his detailed plan with a list of names and rolls. Alexander Kuma-Hebi. He was an animal, an unstoppable force that couldn’t be matched in a head on battle. In a warzone, Alexander was the type of person who Kagami would only give one order: “Hulk, smash.”

Hotaru was on the roster for a different reason. One might consider her the polar opposite of Alexander in that sense. While she was one of the most well-rounded Captains, she also had another quality that made her invaluable: reliability. Hotaru was someone Kagami could trust to make the right calls. Emotionally, she was one of the most stable and easiest Captains to work with. While Alexander goes on a battle craze, Hotaru keeps her head level and gets the job done. Those traits paired with Sozen’s mentorship make her dangerous to any invaders and essential for a team composision.

Harle was someone Kagami would never have considered until he fought her on a stage in front of the rest of Seireitei. Her ability was perfect for deterring foes. She toyed with their senses without trouble, allowing her to hide her own attacks and, more importantly, the attacks of her allies. She didn’t have as much force behind her as Alexander or even Hotaru, but her utility made up for that. In addition, her remarkable speed and Kido expertise added to her battle ability.

Then, there was Taiho. Even if she hadn’t approached Kagami, he would have added her name to the list. Taiho was one of the most powerful Captains, second only to Sozen in pure battle strength. She could hold her own against even Kuroi, and with assistance from a well-built team, she might even win those fights. She was their ace against the strongest of opponents, since Sozen hadn’t quite recovered from his battle with Adalo yet.

Rose was a choice Kagami found more practical than any if Soul Society were on the defensive. She was the best healer the Gotei 13 had, and that was essential for minimizing casualities. However, while most healers were vulnerable and weak, Rose was powerful. She could hold her own in battle, and if the invading forces were especially powerful, Rose would be useful on the frontlines as well. She could take care of low-level Espada or Quincy Captains on her own.

The last man on the team was Kagami himself. In single combat, his mirrors were a real threat and the Captain has been continuously working on other means to increase his power besides his already existing mirror combos. More so, Kagami’s power could be useful in supporting his allies. Aid from Kagami’s mirrors could be just the advantage Taiho needs to bring down legendary threats like the Segunda.

And that was the starting line up, six Captains against an invasion. They were just one number too many for a proper basketball team line-up, which was a shame. There go all the great references. But if they were a basketball team, such as the 2000-2001 Lakers, Taiho would be Kobe Bryant. Alexander would be Shaquille O’Neal. Rose was most like Horace Grant, while Harle and Hotaru played the roll of Rick Fox. And who was Kagami? He was the playmaker clearly, the point guard. The man who performed the 0.4 second shot to get the Lakers the win over San Antonio. Kagami was Derek Fisher.

And the Gotei 13 Lakers was about to have its first match against none other than their rival team, the Las Noches Celtics. When the Arrancar reiatsu signatures appeared, Kagami recognized one instantly. He had seen that same reiatsu flexed in a bar in the edge of the Rukongai by the Cuarta Espada, Ryunosuke Hamada. There were other powerful reiatsu signatures, but Ryunosuke’s stuck out the most. Kagami had already picked his fight. Let’s see how strong Douma’s favorite business partner is.

But Kagami detected an oddity when Taiho left to meet the invaders. Something in her mood was off. She was annoyed by Ryunosuke, but she didn’t want to fight him. Ryunosuke, on the other hand, was very arrogant as far as Kagami’s energy sensory could tell. He exuded a distinct confidence when Taiho arrived, and Kagami was quickly able to connect the dots with his exceptional analytical ability. Taiho had received news of the invasion from Taiho, and maybe the two had an even more complex relationship that just one exchange. Things were looking interesting for the secret criminal behind the Captain of Squad 13.

Kagami ran at his top speed of 300 to meet Ryunosuke, making note that Taiho had left the Arrancar and Hotaru had already arrived. Her assistance might be enough to guarantee their victory unless Ryunosuke was far beyond the strength of the past Cuarta Espada. It might be best to play things cautiously. After all, Ryunosuke’s reiatsu strength surpassed even the Tercera’s, so while Taiho left to deal with Sargon, Hotaru and Kagami might as well take care of the newest addition to Kouhai’s inner circle.

“Mind if I join the party, or is three a crowd?” Kagami stopped nearby the Squad 8 barracks on the ground. Sure he had the lower ground, but that could be fixed the second combat broke out. Hopefully, though, they could keep Ryunosuke talking for at least a little bit. Kagami needed time for the invisible smoke that Ryunosuke’s energy sensory was too low to detect to spread out and thicken. It would take time, but once that happened, things would get a bit confusing for the Cuarta.

“So, what brings you to Soul Society, Ryunosuke Hamada? Is Ningen throwing some rager that I wasn’t invited to, because I might need to have a few words with the old man if that’s the case. Everyone knows that it’s not a party unless I’m there. Me and Raion, of course.”

As Taiho Kasumi'Oji stepped out of her office, and paused right outside of the door, although she wouldn't be able to see it, Ryunosuke's stupid smile quickly faded, and was nearly replaced with fear. Fuck. If he had aggravated Taiho past the breaking point, if he had managed to get her angry enough to break their pact, then this was going to go to Hell in a handbasket very quickly. He braced himself, waiting for her to speak, to move, to lash out.

And then, she drew her fucking sword. Ryunosuke's face instantly became stony again, and his aura began to unwind from his body, pooling off of him in venomous strands of quicksilver. If Taiho wanted a fight, he was very willing to provide. But then, the Captain of Squad 8 simply stated that she would continue to honor their truce, and walked off. As if a massive weight had been lifted from him, a smile returned to his face, and he couldn't help but laugh.

This was gonna be a massacre.

Taiho left, probably to chase after Sargon if Ryunosuke had to guess, and instead she was replaced by a woman with purple hair. She didn't open up with an attack, which made sense, she was testing the waters first. And even before she opened her mouth, Ryunosuke knew who she was. He'd done his research. He knew which captains were in Soul Society at the time of the attack, and he knew distinguishing factors amongst them. And this woman was Captain of the Tenth Division. A Kuchiki.

Oh, she didn't know who he was? Or what he was doing here? Huh, they must not have picked her for her intelligence. He had thought better of the Defense Squad, but clearly he was wrong. "You don't know who I am? Really? Huh, I guess it's introductions time." He gave her a wide smile, that seemed to spread until his entire face was consumed by it. "My name is...Fuck, I had something for this." Son of a bitch, Ryunosuke couldn't remember what identity he was planning on using during the invasion.

It wasn't Sargon, Sargon was here. And he knew better than to impersonate Kuroi or Adalo. Zackary Jensen? No, that wasn't funny enough. Bruceman? Batwayne? Shit. Now he had to be serious, he had forgotten his joke. "My name is Ryunosuke Hamada. Cuarta Espada of Las Noches. And, like my allies, I'm here to move fast and break things. Like buildings. And people." He stared at her for a moment. "Did they really only send one Captain?"

And then, another showed up. One who made Ryunosuke chuckle inwardly at the sight of. Kagami Murai. Captain of Squad 13. "Come on and join us, dude. I was just complaining to little miss Kuchiki here that there wasn't enough people present for us to start yet." The question came an instant later, and Ryunosuke took this moment to strike. Verbally, of course, not physically. Not yet. "Why am I in Soul Society, Kagami? The same reason that any Arrancar comes here. To fuck your wife and stab you in the chest. Standard shit, you know?"

Okay, maybe that was a little harsh. But honestly, Ryunosuke would hope that any Captain could take that type of a comment. And, not to mention, he was pretty sure he knew Kagami better than he knew most captains. Why? Well, Kagami was one of three possible candidates for the secret identity of Douma. When Ryunosuke met Douma, he'd noted something about his reiatsu, that it was identical to Adalo's, that it was tainted from some extreme encounter.

And Kagami was one of three surviving victims of Adalo. Kuroi had fought the Primera before, so he was technically on the list, by why on earth would the current Segunda be Douma? Plus, Ryunosuke was pretty sure he would've recognized Kuroi's voice. Sozen Kuchiki was also on the list, especially after their recent clash, but Ryunosuke had other suspicions aimed at Sozen, and the timing just didn't make sense: Sozen's clash with Adalo had occurred after the appearance of Douma.

But Kagami, Kagami had vanished for a period of time after his encounter with Adalo. He had shown up in a hospital bed, damaged badly, and then vanished later. And, around the time he had vanished, Douma began to rise in the criminal underworld. Was it damning? No. Would it hold up in court? No. But it was a crazy ass conspiracy theory, and that's all that Ryunosuke needed to believe something with all of his heart. A long shot, but it was a shot regardless.

So, he'd pressure both of them, Kagami in particular, and try to reveal his identity further. Ryunosuke grabbed the air, and then pulled forth from it a crimson handled katana, with an immaculate silver blade. A simple katana, but it'd kill people well enough. And if Kagami was who he thought he was, he'd recognize the sword. In fact, he might even check his own person, for a brief moment, to make sure that he still had his sword on him. Because Ryunosuke just made a copy of Douma's sword, the one he'd handled a few weeks ago.

Of course, he wasn't just using a copy of the sword. This one had properties associated with it that most weapons wouldn't have. It sliced through the air faster than any sword should be capable of, and was light enough that it simply didn't seem to weigh down Ryunosuke's hand at all. And, if the blade touched someone, they'd meet a very sinister fate. Which is to say that they'd start vomiting uncontrollably while Ryunosuke pointed and laughed. This was a sword created by The Arrancar King's Bala, and would prove to be a devastating weapon. 

Ryunosuke paused for a moment, gauging Kagami's reaction. And then, motion. He'd close the distance between Hotaru and him in an instant, allowing himself to reach full speed for only a brief moment, and open with a quick stab to the chest. Simple opening, but if it hit, it'd be an effective one. And if she blocked, he had counters. Two versus One? This had the potential to be an fair, maybe even a fun, fight. He had an audience. It was time to show the fuck off.

Standing atop the massive white pillar that granted him the perfect vantage point over the Seireitei Sargon glanced around for the time being. He didn't cloak his reiatsu for such a thing would go against why he had led the invasion into this strong hold. He was here to do battle against someone that would actually give him a challenge. Someone that he hoped would be able to get his blood flowing for once. He hadn't had a decent battle since the assassination of the Quincy Emperor. Training his own Fraccion was nothing more then babysitting at their current power levels. There just wasn't enough enjoyment around lately not enough people that he could battle seriously that would last all that long.

That's why he was here standing in a way that issued a challenge to the Captains of the Shinigami. They were the only individuals that Sargon knew the location of that he had heard could hold their own against the might of the Espada. While Sargon hadn't fought any of them seriously as of yet he had met two of them. One of which had been a healer that utilized her blood in combat. Sargon wasn't interested in her though nor the other one. He was interested in the few that could apparently go toe to toe with the likes of Kuroi and Adalo. Only those would be enough to satisfy this boredom for the time being.

It was taking some time though and Sargon was beginning to wonder if he should just start reducing the Seireitei itself into a smoldering rumble. He was conflicted on that though. While it was well within his power to reduce everything that was within his gaze to nothingness and take away the entirety of the Shinigami strong hold. If he did that then where would the Shinigami go? How would they train to get stronger? How would he find them the next time he got bored? All of these things just made him stand there with his arms crossed over his chest. All he wanted was a fight and yet here he was bored out of his mind awaiting his foes.

[Kaijin"Harle"Quinn]

OOC: Sry for the long wait, been having some trouble in RL and the constant exhaustion with work. But let the show go on now.

The alarm was sounded which meant one thing, the Seireitei was under attack. But that alone wasn't the singular notion that tugged the thought of an attack. Only an hour ago the Captain had been discussing matters of concern to the Squad. Shifting in duties and responsibilities, patrol routes, black ops missions, gathering intel, and the such. Aside from that was the routine training session and enlisting for the Tsunami. Once they were Captain Kenryouku's private guard, his elite force within Squad Two, but now they belonged to Harle. Of course on paper they didn't exist, so which left the only evidence of their nature or existence was through the Captain. Actually, it was the Tsunami that Harle gave the responsibility to secure a isolated position for their new base in the wilderness. To much of their success that they managed to locate a suitable location.

Deep within the wilderness lied a cavern that led to a series of tunnels. A maze within a maze as they described it. It seemed to be a perfect position for their operations base away from the Seireitei and from prying eyes. Secretly from behind the scenes the Captain had been issuing orders to gather materials to begin their base's construction. For now it would only be a matter of time until its completion. Only moments from then a large presence was felt. Captain level. With no choice but to convene at a more appropriate time the Tsunami were dismissed as they scattered into the shadows and far from their Captain. The new presence was indeed a Captain, Lady Taiho Kasumi'Oji. She never had the privilege to speak with her one on one, but her presence did not really speak "friendly."

Mischievous and quite dark Lady Taiho spoke of some troubling thoughts. Thoughts that were too specific, too keen to be a simple visit. Her own expression remained as such during their talk before the fellow Captain fled. Something did feel quite off, but could never put it together. If anything her father had taught her to never ignore those emotions regardless of how small they were. And this stunk like moldy old cheese. Thus, was the reason why the Captain sent a single member of the Tsunami to trail the Captain to investigate her troubling thought. If anything the assassin would return to only inform her of the other visits to the other Captains. Why only them? Why only specific Captains?

Still, Harle couldn't put her finger on the issue that was lingering around her. Such thoughts gave way to her orders as to gather every member of her Squad should the need rise, but the order came too late when the alarm sounded, and along with it several large signatures of reiatsu followed shortly after. Why was her thoughts now screaming at her? Of course the french woman reacted instantaneously with her orders. Members of her squad would draw out an invisible battle line between the enemy's territory and friendly space. They were merely to observe in absolute silence until the enemy acted out against the other Shinigami or innocent.

Just as her orders were issued to her subordinates the reiatsu of her fellow Captains blurred into action, meaning that she had to go out as well. After raiding the Squad Two armory Harle had everything she'd need for the worst case scenario. If her newly acquired skills and abilities did not prevail then Harle would have no right to consider herself a Captain. Once her words had ceased the Captain flicked her wrist to dismiss her assassins to have them construct their defense from the shadows, and as they shot forth from their controlled area the Tsunami returned. "Ze rest of you would inveztigate ze other Capitaines. Zomezhing does not feel right." There were no objections and did as ordered. While the Captains were busy with their own battles against the intruders the Tsunami would investigate each other quarters and belongings.

Even while sprinting toward the isolated intruder the thought cycled through the back of Harle's mind. Why now? And how did the intruders managed to pass through the barrier into the Seireitei? The Tsunami would investigate for their Captain while she and the rest of her squadmates would meet their foe. Thus far among the intruders, the current course led the Captain beneath what may appear to be the lowest among them. Stealth and silent the Captain watched from the shadows down below to gaze up at her opponent, an Arrancar. She will deal with the Arrancar first before heading off to assist with the others, but so far she could not allow the enemy to progress any further.

Once the man made his move, so would the Captain, and her positioning placed her in front of him on top the buildings below, "Not un another step, zis iz az far as you go!"

[Taihō Kasumi’Oji]

It was eerily quiet as Taihō made her way down the streets and alleys of the Seireitei, moving with the implacable calm and utter silence of death itself towards her target, Sargon Denumic. She could sense her allies moving in other areas, positioning themselves to counter the invasion. Already, Hotaru and Kagami were preparing to take on Ryunosuke Hamada, while Kaijin moved to take on the weakest Arrancar, who could only be the Noveno, Masa Kumasaka. It seemed her warnings had been understood, as the defensive net was rapidly drawing closed. The Espada, who had likely been expecting to take the Gotei Thirteen by surprise, were all being met by power Captains, ready to halt their invasion before it could even begin.

As Taihō neared her target, she began reaching out with her Energy Sensory, searching for him with her advanced sensory abilities. She stopped moving the moment she had a good read on him, still far outside his own sensory range. Even if Taihō hadn’t been suppressing her Reiatsu, Sargon never would’ve been able to sense her, as she was still a considerable distance away, but as she was actively hiding her Reiatsu, not to mention any other signs that she was there, it would be impossible for the Tercera to know he was being observed. And that was exactly what Taihō was doing; observing her target, formulating theories and hypothesis, and constructing experiments to test them.

As she stood there, in the shadows of the Seireitei, Taihō began to peer into Sargon’s soul. Not many beings could do this, but Taihō was one of those that could. Before her, very few things remained secret, and it was a skill which she had to, begrudgingly, thank her sister, Azumi for. Prior to the…adjustments Azumi made to her, Taihō had never been able to sense the souls of other beings so clearly. It was almost unnerving, the degree to which she could sift through Sargon’s thoughts and ideals. She felt confidence, mostly in himself, but also in his fellow Arrancar. He wasn’t here in search of victory, he was here to claim it, as if it was already his. He was bored, and Taihō got the sense that he was leading this little assault simply for lack of anything better to do with his time. Indeed, he was looking for an entertaining fight, an opponent who could push him to his limit. Above all else, however, Taihō felt his pride, his overwhelming hubris. It was if his soul was simply screaming one, unwavering word: “ME”.

That was what Taihō read from the man named Sargon Denumic. He was powerful to be sure. His Reiatsu was even more potent than her own, and she sensed a certain depth to his power unlike other Arrancar she had encountered before. She didn’t know what it was, or what it meant, but she took it as a sign that this man might prove to be a challenging opponent. In a way, Taihō was glad for this. She had never been the kind of person to pursue battle and death; indeed, she would rather avoid conflict, and spend her time with more useful projects. Like pulling the wings off of flies, perhaps. However, she was an individual who was given to forcing her way through problems, rather than going around them, and she had always had a love for inflicting pain and suffering on those around her. If she had to fight, she would rather fight someone strong, someone who she could really have some fun with.

So it was that Taihō, when she was prepared, vanished with a Shunpo, and appeared atop a building not far from Sargon, clearly within his line of sight. He would likely be surprised to see her, as he would’ve had no previous indication that there was anyone worth noting nearby. That being said, if he were smart, Sargon would certainly take note of Taihō. The hugely oversized Captain’s Haroi alone would likely catch his attention, indicating that the figure before him was of considerable power, but he would find he still could sense nothing from her. It was like she was a ghost, the spirit of death incarnate. If Sargon were a wise man, he would take note of this; most opponent’s, before fighting an opponent of Sargon’s caliber, would be flexing their Reiatsu, preparing themselves mentally for an epic struggle. Taihō, on the other hand, seemed almost bored, as if she had been forced to choose between fighting Sargon, or watching paint dry, and decided the fight would be slightly more interesting. Her expression was cool, even disinterested, as she locked eyes with Sargon, and spoke in a voice just audible across the distance between them.

Music!!

”Greetings, Sargon Denumic. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Seireitei. I am Taihō Kasumi’Oji, Captain of Squad 8 and Head of the Kasumi’Oji family.” She slowly raised her sword arm, aiming it at Sargon’s heart before continuing in the same lethally calm monotone, ”I must admit, it has been quite some time since I fought a foe of your strength. I’m afraid I may not be much a challenge for you. I do apologize.” Almost as soon as she was finished speaking, Taihō vanished into another Shunpo, appearing directly in front of Sargon. She immediately began attacking with her seven-foot long sword, unleashing a flurry of quick, rapid slashes from well outside of Sargon’s own striking range. Taihō’s blade had a solid two foot advantage in length over Sargon’s own sword, meaning he would have to move well into Taihō’s guard in order to strike her. Of course, this wasn’t too great of an issue for the Espada, given his superior Reiatsu Strength, which would give him an imposing Hierro. Taihō knew this, and was well aware of the disadvantage she put herself at by hoping to best the Espada in melee combat.

Unfortunately for Sargon, Taihō wasn’t such a predictable opponent. While the Arrancar would be safe from her debilitating Mind Hana, Taihō had other tricks up her particularly large sleeves. As she attacked with her dominant hand, switching from a style of rapid slashes aimed to keep Sargon busy to a set of slow, heavy swings meant to inflict damage, Taihō pointed at the ground behind Sargon in a silent, subtle gesture. It would be difficult for Sargon to notice while he was distracted by Taihō’s assault, and even if he did, the significance of the movement would likely be missed.

Without a word, Taihō sacrificed a part of her very life-force, and pushed out into a thin gold beam which sailed from the tip of her finger, through the sleeve covering her hand, and into the roof which Taihō and Sargon both stood on. Anima. The spell used by the Kasumi’Oji family for generations to infuse life into the lifeless. This is what Taihō had cast just now. In an instant, a full sized replica of Taihō began pulling itself out of the stone behind Sargon, grabbing him by the leg as it did, then pulling itself up and grabbing wrapping an arm around his neck. While the statue had no real skill in hand combat, it didn’t take much to strangle someone, especially when you were made of solid, living stone. Sargon would find himself hard pressed to pry himself free of the statues grip as it had considerably more mass than he, and was made of a substance which he lacked the strength to simply break. He could try cutting it with his sword, but would find the angle difficult to manage, rendering the statue hard to effectively damage. Sargon would find himself trapped, if only for a short while, by the statue which was viciously attempting to strangle him to death. And it would be then that Sargon would realize exactly what kind of opponent he was dealing with.

“Ye lord. Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man. Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Hado #33: Sōkatsui.” Taihō spoke quickly and softly, her tone never changing as she recited the incantation for the destructive spell. Ordinarily, reciting the spell for Kido at this range would be suicide, but with Sargon occupied with the statue trying to strangle him, she was able to safely recite the incantation. As she did, she adjusted the aim of her still outstretched hand just enough to launch the resulting blast of blue fire straight into Sargon’s chest. With the incantation, it would have enough power to damage the Espada even through his Hierro, and while it wouldn’t be a fight ending blow, it would certainly be a troublesome injury for him to deal with. The moment the spell left Taihō’s hand, she vanished with another Shunpo, positioning herself just far enough to avoid the spell’s explosion. That should do for the first experiment. Now, how will the subject respond to these adverse circumstances…?

[Hotaru Kuchiki-Masurao]

Hotaru stared at the man who declared himself the Cuartra Espada. He was rather powerful, which was fairly obvious to tell. The weird thing about him was that he didn't have a zanpaktou like the other Arrancar she has seen. It was interesting, but she didn't know all the differences that could happen in an Arrancar power, so she just remembered it for the future. Ryunosuke Hamada his name was. She would definitely remember it. After he said he was an Espada, she had a good idea why he would be here without having to listen to him.

He was here, more than likely with others, to destroy Soul Society and the Seireitei. She would never allow that. When she felt the familiar presence of Kagami, her stress lessened a bit. They worked well together and would prefer to have no other person to guard her back besides a family member or her husband. When he said Miss Kuchiki, she was angered. DID NO ONE NOTICE HER WEDDING RINGS!! THEY SPARKLE, THEY SHOULD BE NOTICEABLE! She was about to say something when Ryu spoke about fucking wives and getting stabbed in the chest.

So, it seemed that the Primera either told others what happened or it spread through other means about what happened. The comment made Hotaru angrier, gripping her zanpaktou tighter in anger. While Ryu was grabbing the air, Hotaru pointed her sword out to him. "It's Mrs. Masurao now. Obviously, you're too blind to notice that I have wedding rings on, like most of the other people I seem to run into. I will make sure that you will not destroy this place, as long as I have breath in my body. Bankai!"

By the time she said Bankai, his sword was already out. Right when she said it, the flames of her Bankai circled around them a half a mile, with them jumping up a hundred feet in the air. Now, if Ryu stepped into the ring of her Bankai, if he can get out, he will get hurt, which just made the fight a little bit easier for her. After the ring formed, Ryu moved. He was slower than her, so she was able to see his movement. Since he was coming to strike at her, she moved at full speed, moving backwards next to Kagami.

When she reached him, she had completely changed. The two dragon heads roared at Ryu, growling at him. After she appeared, she immediately started to ooze liquid in the area around her, from the scales on her dragons and the dragon mouths themselves. After a few seconds, her Bankai dragons were completely covered in liquid, making touching them not the smartest thing ever, and she was surrounded by a growing liquid pool. The position of the dragons when they were summoned was a loose circle around Hotaru, protecting her from all sides. (Picture how Renji's bankai looks when it surrounds him when activated.)

The dragons hovered above her, able to see more than she could. Though, while surrounding her, they left her an area in front of her to look out of. But, since the dragons' could see the battlefield, they could move their bodies to give her a better view when it was needed. She looked towards Kagami and another opening was made for her to speak. "Be quick, Kagami-senpai. You don't want to be in this when it goes off. My liquid will move quickly, since I'm letting it out continuously. I hope your mirrors will work here, Mirror Master." She smiled at her last comment, looking back forward through her area to make sure Ryu wouldn't try anything funny.

[Sargon Denumic]

Well it seemed for the next few moments like nothing was going to happen and that Sargon was going to be left alone for the time being. The thought of remaining in this one spot for any longer was irritating. He had come here in order to fight the strongest entities in this realm. He had done his research and there were Shinigami here that had the prowess to challenge Kuroi and Adalo. Sargon was tired of having nothing to do and no adversary to speak of that could rival his own abilities. Yet it seems at this moment that all of the so called Shinigami might was hiding or worrying about the others when their attention was needed more on him than anyone else.

That was when a woman appeared on a building in front of him. The woman from what Sargon could see was wearing one of the Haroi signifying her as a Captain of the Shinigami. The woman had blonde hair and a look to her eyes that spoke of business. Sargon's met the gaze of the woman with a stern look for a moment. He couldn't sense anything from her yet he knew that sensing energy was one of the very few flaws about him and that she was more then likely suppressing her reiatsu for the time being. It looked as if she had wanted to do something else yet had been ordered to this location. It didn't matter she would be dealt with promptly.

The woman began to speak and Sargon heard her announce his name. Instantly his eyes narrowed angrily. "Someone in Las Noches is talking far too much. I think the time will come shortly when it's burnt shut." Sargon had been going over the fact of what he believed to be the cause of his identity being leaked to this Shinigami while she was busy introducing herself. Stating her name and everything else which Sargon didn't care about. It was painfully obvious while she spoke that he wasn't paying her much attention. Sargon was about to offer her the chance to leave. Sparing her life so long as she bring back the one named Sozen or the precious old man who lead the Shinigami.

His attention was forced though when the sound of a shunpo entered his ears. Taiho was basically in front of him now and had her zanpakuto drawn and was swinging at him from the side horizontally. Sargon took action in a way that many would find . . well that was the thing it wasn't really anything, but different. Sargon turned his body while moving his right hand up to his head. Taiho's zanpakuto suddenly hit Sargon's which was on his back. That had been the defense for the first hit simply turning his back to the blade. Now though as Taiho brought her zanpakuto towards him again Sargon's zanpakuto was out and he began parrying Taiho's zanpakuto to the side. Her strength was just about the same as his yet she was utilizing more speed then strength and since her zanpakuto was longer Sargon could exert enough strength while maintaining the same speed as her keeping each strike from his body. He kept his bored expression as this continued. Swordsmanship was something he excelled at and while this Captain seemed to know what she was doing this kind of combat grew old within moments.

That was when Sargon picked up the change in the Captain's grip and the speed of her swing. Just as Taiho changed from a constant fury of swift slashing attempts to one that held her full strength Sargon stepped backwards. She was keeping as much distance between them as she could so that she could land a hit while his own zanpakuto wasn't long enough. Sargon though saw that her zanpakuto was only a slight bit longer then his own and after spending the last few moments deflecting constant strikes he knew the zanpakuto well enough. Now as she swung for a powerful blow Sargon stepped backwards watching the zanpakuto pass in front of him and leaving her open for a counter. Sargon was prepared to rush her now striking forwards knowing that it would be rather easy for her to spin the blade and bring it back around. His Heirro would keep the zanpakuto from inflicting any damage yet just as all of that was about to unfold Sargon saw a slight movement of her hand and kept his distance.

This exchange between them so far was even with neither of them landing a blow and both of them proving that they matched one another in every category yet. Sargon didn't like the fact that this girl was proving that she could wield a zanpakuto with pretty much the same amount of skill as himself yet the root of his pride didn't come from his skills with a blade. The movement of her hand had been something that Sargon felt was one she didn't wish for him to see. He knew that some of the kido Shinigami developed were potent and some even harder to realize had been done. They weren't like bala of cero which normally were easy to spot. He was just outside her swinging range now when a golden beam of reiatsu seemed to be fired from the hario covering her right. It hit the roof and Sargon was puzzled for a moment as to what type of kido she had just utilized.

His attention was stolen for a moment when a thick hard hand grabbed hold of his leg. It was solid and Sargon began to turn his head to look backwards. Suddenly a stone arm was wrapped around his neck and he was being held in place by what looked to be some sort of stone figure modeled after the Captain. Sargon's mind went to work and knew that the golden beam of reiatsu had been the cause for what was happening now and that this was meant to keep him from evading or defending himself. The Captain could try to stab him now yet he got the feeling she would try something with a bit more powerful and a higher chance of actually hurting him. The big give away was that this statue of herself was trying with all it's might to strangle him.

When she began to speak the incantation for whatever kido she was preparing Sargon decided to take the matter a bit more seriously. As she was reaching the end of the incantation an ash colored orb of reiatsu appeared in front of Sargon. It only took a fraction of a second for the reiatsu to layer over his entire body and just as she fired off her kido Sargon's cero was fired off forwards carrying him with it. The cero layered his body breaking the statue like it was nothing yet the fire of the kido that this Captain had just cast was overpowering the cero. Just as Taiho would utilize shunpo to back track herself Sargon would appear from the flames swinging his zanpakuto downwards at her.

She vanished just in time to avoid being cut and Sargon stood in the spot that she had just occupied. His clothing was slightly more burnt then it had been already yet the only other noticeable change was that his face and hands were burnt. The kido that she had cast burnt his flesh yet nowhere near to the degree that she had planned. The burns were second degree and while that might have proven enough to gain the upper hand in a normal fight Sargon wasn't a normal fight. He stood looking at Taiho for a moment. He extended his left hand out to her showing the burns only to reveal that his flesh was returning to normal.

The burns that Taiho had inflicted on Sargon had been enough that wielding his zanpakuto effectively would be irritating and have a decent amount of pain yet she would see now that the burns were healing already. "Not a bad attempt. I came here to be challenged not to watch another blonde girl cry for her life. I give you one chance to leave and bring me someone more powerful. If you wish to continue then lets get on with actually having fun." Sargon suddenly raised his zanpakuto above his head with a wide grin spreading across his face. "Erupt, Vulcan!" Suddenly lava seemed to burst from the slit in his zanpakuto. Taiho would see the lava flowing from the zanpakuto at a rate far faster then naturally possibly. In but a few moments Sargon was completely covered in lava and his entire body was concealed beneath the now pitch black obsidian. The sounds of it shaking would follow as it then cracked and a moment later the entire thing burst apart spreading thick ash around the area concealing Sargon's form.

Sargon wasn't here to toy around with this girl that had had never heard of before he was here to be challenged by the strongest of the Shinigami. So far this girl had proven very little against him and it was simply time to start reducing everything in Soul Society to molten rock. Sargon was going to kill her swiftly and move on to one of the two Shinigami he actually wished to fight. Still being covered by the thickness of the ash that had been released Sargon gathered his reiatsu and vanished from within the smoke. (3000 Movement Speed) One side of the smoke would move slightly altering Taiho along with the fact she would be able to sense his reiatsu spike for a moment, but Sargon was suddenly behind her now with each of his zanpakuto arcing through the air towards the sides of her torso. While at the same time lava was gushing from Sargon's mouth about to pour onto Taiho's back as the lava being exported from his body began to layer the ground burning the building.
