It was a Saturday, so Vesta had the day off from school. She actually enjoyed school, which would be odd for a fourteen year old girl to say, but she was different. Well, different was an understatement. Thankfully for her clothes, no one at school was able to tell how different she actually was. Also, thankful that her father was able to find clothes that worked on her unusual frame. It wasn't that her physical frame was different. It was the fact that she had chains wrapped around her torso. They were never tight on her body. They gave her just enough space around to breathe and a little extra on top for a certain undergarment.
She thought it was odd, but honestly, since it had always been a part of her, she never really minded it too much. She grew up with the chains and had gotten used to working around them. She did, however, try to figure out what the writing on her chest meant. Her father would immediately stop her when he found her searching for the meanings, but that just made her want to hunt more. She would now only do it during school hours, when she had free time, which was rare. She always thought on her chains, when her mind was freed from the regular worries of a teenager.
Every time she would ask her father about the chains, he would always change the subject. It made her wonder, but she would never really push the subject. She loved her father over everything else, and never wanted to do anything that would go against him like that. But, another thing that was on her mind a lot more was what he called them. Bounts. She had no idea what a 'Bount' was, but she was curious to find out more information about her race. She looked them up in the library, and found nothing. Her father didn't really tell her much about them, except that they were from Germany.
It didn't really give her much to go on, so she would look through her father's books while he was away getting groceries or whatever. She would look and she really didn't find much history in those either. She only found that her kind started the vampire legends in regular humans. Just from that information alone, she assumed that her race had something to do with blood sucking, but she honestly didn't know that much about it. She hoped that they didn't do anything like that, especially since she herself had never done any. She only knew that her father forced her to drink some kind of liquid like twice a week.
She didn't know yet what that drink actually did, so she wouldn't know that her father was actual out hunting for the both of them. He would use his power to create an Immortality Drink, so Vesta wouldn't have to hunt for human souls. At least, not yet. He knew she would need to learn in time, but the time was not now. Since she drank this drink regularly, she never had to worry about the thirst. She even carried the drink around with her, at the behest of her father. So now, she was skipping along to Karakura Park, her second favorite place in town. She skipped there and once she found a tree she liked, she sat under it and started to doodle with the paper and pen she brought in the back pack she was carrying.
