OOC: AAAAAAAK. POSTED.
"A woman's tongue." Kubi's head snapped towards Hokori, who had voiced out the answer, through chattering teeth. Kubi's eyes narrowed as the door slid open with a hushed whoosh; he slid the kunai back into it's holster. With the adrenaline draining from his system, Kubi was confronted with a problem; he was bone jarringly, painfully cold. His long, brown locks dripped into his Shikahusho, the black cloak he had on drenched.
"Wait one moment guys, come closer so I can keep us warm." Kubi nodded absently, as if lost. A cold such as this consumed the mind and body, made both weak. He noticed his hands making fists, then unclench; but he viewed this as if he was another person. Kubi did not have good cold resistance.
Suddenly, waves of warmth swept off Kyomei, snapping Kubi out of his trance-like state. A gasp escaped the assassin's mouth. Almost unconsciously, he moved closer to Kyomei, standing right behind him, basking in the warmth. A smirk spread across his face. "Let's go." His silent footfalls followed both Hokori and Kyomei into the next room, never moving from the warmth that was his friend.
As soon as they walked through the door, a blast of cold air met them. Kubi stumbled; even his limbs felt cold and heavy, unmanageable. As Kubi straightened, a thrill of fear went up his spine. Instead of following Kyomei, he crept up into the shadow's lining the room; and though he was terribly, frighteningly cold, something told him not to approach the edge, that some danger - worse than the danger from the cold - was lurking there.
His instinct proved to be true.
Inexorably, his eyes were brought upwards, to the eyes of what can only be described as a demon. Tall, thin, almost feminine but far too frightening to be so, he resembled nothing more than a shark made human. A sudden, unexplainable fear clutched Kubi's heart, and his legs trembled harder, more from the fear than the cold. Yes, this man was frightening, even able to frighten the stoic assassin. Yet with the conflicting emotions he's felt today, his tolerance had worn thin.
Kubi remained crouched, hidden in the shadows, as the man introduced himself as Ka-Ek, an Akki in the employ of Lucifer. Though he was shivering the entire time, he managed to keep his violent tremors under a semblance of control. Yet he didn't spend this time fruitlessly; using the Soul Gauge on his wrist, he checked Ka-Ek's numbers.
Then, he straightened almost gratefully, his frozen muscles protesting. Approaching Kyomei and laying a hand on his shoulder - promptly removing it before it got burned -, letting the heat soak through his clothing, he let out an inaudible sigh. Then he spoke. ]"You did not come here today to talk with beings like us, demon. What is your purpose here? Why not strike us down, if that is what you came to do?"
