(Right on.)
Ryuu glanced over at the guy who answered him, the one who had been hiding, and gave him a beatific smile of a dead man. At least the guy was honest...Ryuu could respect that.
"So, you're worried that I will will hold us back? That's flattering, but you're concern is unwarranted. I'm not the sort of maestro to slow the tempo of a performance." Ryuu was about to say something more when the target flared his wings out, creating a massive shockwave that rocked the battle field. Ryuu wasn't much impressed by the man's Spiritual Pressure, but his Reiatsu Strength was off the charts...clearly, he was the number-one Ogatago for a reason.
Well...Kido is out of the question...this guy could swallow anything I'm going to be capable of and laugh me off the stage...on second thought, he'll probably just split me in two with that scythe... Ryuu's thoughts were confirmed when the man locked eyes on the weakest of the three impromptu allies, and charged him, slashing at him with his wicked blade. Ryuu noted the...unique method the guy used to dodge, but was a bit to preoccupied to notice what he did after. Preoccupied, that is, with not being murdered, as the target repeated the attack on Ryuu.
He almost forgot to dodge; with a Spiritual Pressure as high as Ryuu's, you get used to watching people get hurt after they hit you. It was almost to late when Ryuu remembered the slight but oh so important advantage Ka-ek had over him in Spiritual Pressure. Ryuu clicked his tongue irritably, before dodging with Shunpo, appearing about a dozen feet away. With his energy sensory ability, he would always be aware of the position of someone like Ka-ek, who might as well have been waving a giant flag saying "I am here, I'm moving toward you now." That, coupled with his admittedly average senses and instinct, let him move out of the way just in time, even with his low speed.
"So...you don't mess around, do you, Mr God of Death? That was quite an opening act. Almost intimidating." He paused, reaching into his robes to fish around for something. What could be so important? After a moment, it was revealed: A bottle of whiskey, from which Ryuu took a healthy drink, right in the middle of the fight. Not even life or death situations, it seemed, could keep him from his liquor.
Replacing the bottle, Ryuu continued. "So, I suppose since everyone else is getting serious, I should play along to. Just be warned...my Zanpakuto isn't very nice." With that, Ryuu reached behind his back, the sound of the bells on his sleeve ringing loudly and clearly, and drew his Zanpakuto. It was a long blade, nearly four feet long, and beautiful in it's simplicity. Bells lined it's sheath, only adding the light music now filling the battle field. Ryuu pointed his blade at his foe.
"Sing their death knell..." He began, as the blade of his sword began disintegrating, turning into a cloud of black feathers that started at the hilt and moved toward the tip. "...And fade to black..." The blade vanished completely, and the hilt of the sword exploded into a purple sparks. The cloud of feathers coalesced into an orb, and slowly changed form. "Naichingeru." With that, Ryuu's Shikai was complete; it became a weapon shaped like a musical note, with a long black handle connecting a wicked curved blade on one end to a round section on the other. Ryuu gave Ka-ek a joyless smile, turned his weapon around in a circle once, then pointed it at his opponent while softly speaking the words: "Score: Silenzio" A violet and black ripple of Reiatsu would spread from the tip of Ryuu's weapon; if Ka-ek was still in front of it by then, he would be hit by the attack, and forced to relive some painful, traumatic moment in his life, all while experiencing agonizing pain and internal injuries. The damage was based on how negative, how evil the target was, and would burn up one percent of the target's Reiatsu for every ten points of Dark Aura he had; as evil as Ka-ek was bound to be, the attack be anything but pleasant if it connected.
Only sharp and pointy.
