So Itou still needed more money. He needed just a little bit more money. So what was he doing in order to pass the time and get some money. It was something you wouldn’t expect the merciless psychotic killer to be doing. He was going to tutor rich kids! It was simple really. Rich parents wanted their kids to learn and Itou was going to teach them, he’d get a lot of money and then he’d heal his arm so he could resume his training properly. By the time he was done tutoring this little boy for a few hours they’d give him his pay and he’d be off. It was the perfect plan, the perfect job and the perfect pay.
Itou waited, finally the boy walked in. He was wearing expensive red clothes and his blonde hair was perfectly combed backwards. He sat in the chair next to Itou, he was carrying a pencil case and paper. Itou put on a fake friendly face.“Hello, my name is Itou Kasui and I will be your tutor for today, first I will be teaching you some basic math.” Itou explained as he took out a pen and got his own not book out. The boy didn’t say a word and nodded obediently. Itou started writing out basic addition and multiplication equations and put them on the desk in front of him. The boy took his pen and started answering the questions.
Itou waited, he didn’t look at his answers, he simply waited, he licked his lips a few times because it was a habit of his. The boy was hard at work, he seemed to be working through these with considerable ease. Itou was maybe wondering that he had underestimated the boy due to his age and should've given him harder questions to start of. Well he would wait and see his answers.Ten minutes later the boy was done and he handed his answer sheet back to him, Itou examined the sheet thoroughly. The boy had gotten quite a few of them wrong. Itou put ticks and crosses next to them. He seemed to be a very able boy so Itou decided to try something a little harder. He made the addition sums quadruple digits and made the multiplication questions double digits each.
After Itou showed him a basic method of how to work them out he left the boy to do it. The boy took longer to do it. Itou could now see a look of shock in his eyes. Obviously these questions were too hard for him. Well that was what tutoring was about, he would give him questions to gauge his level and then he'd help him improve. That was how his parents taught him anyway. It took him around fifteen minutes to try and do them. When Itou took them back he was actually kind of disappointed. Out of thirty questions he only got ten of them right. This was going to be a problem. “Okay look, you seem to be rushing them, remember you carry the numbers to the other side. Don’t rush them and remember to check your answers. Also some of these answers appear to be random guesses, don’t guess!” Itou explained. The boy nodded and tried an extra set of questions.
The boy did better this time. He got twenty eight out of thirty. Itou gave him more and more questions. After about two hours he was getting full marks all the time. When it was time to stop Itou gave him a pat on the back and the boy’s parents came back home. “Yes he understood it perfectly by the time I was done with him.” Itou reassured. The parents gave Itou his ryo in a sack. “I shall be back another day.” Itou said with a fake smile. “Good luck with your Shinigami training!” The father said as he waved. Itou smiled and waved and he walked out the door, it was now time to get back home.
