Before you read about trial applications, please be sure that you have first read:
- Section 1: Character Creation, Class, and Consideration
- Section 2: Races, Releases, and Leveling Up
- Section 4: Types
- Section 7: Battle Mechanics
After reading those, this section should help you with starting your journey if you also aren't quite ready to commit. It is understandable that, as newcomers, some of you may not be sold on all of this just yet. This is the exact reason why we like to allow "Trial Applications."
What is a Trial Application? MMORPG games such as Diablo III or World of Warcraft have trial versions for their players. It is possible to play the free trial version for X-amount of time and get to Y-level. After this trial has ended, the player is able to make the choice to continue on by buying the full game or quitting if it did not hold their interest.
Similarly, new members are allowed to create a Trial Application to test out the forum before they decide if they want to make a whole character. A "Trial Character" can be created through this system. The requirements for creating a Trial Character are significantly lower in order to give new members an easier time, and it gives them the chance to test out someone they made on their own before deciding if they want to expand upon these basics. To clarify on what these standards are, read the following information.Trial Application Requirements
As mentioned before, the requirements for creating a Trial Application are much lower. For example, the Personality section of this template calls for only one paragraph to be written. Paragraphs are roughly 6-9 sentences long or must take up at least four lines when posted to be counted. For Appearance, only one paragraph is needed. Fighting Style also only requires one paragraph.
When filling out Powers, be sure to write three paragraphs and list each different aspect of the character's abilities depending on the race you chose to make. For example, no slots for Shikai or Bankai are made available. If someone wanted to make a Trial Shinigami, they would need to add them in on their own and go into detail about those powers. If there are any questions about how to make any of these, please refer to the sections listed above. Once the powers are written, the History section only needs three paragraphs, as well.
This Trial Application process is meant to be easy, so do not worry about everything being perfect. The gradings depend on if the abilities are balanced or unbalanced. This also allows new members to see how everything is graded and get used to the system that way. So long as all of the powers are balanced, the application will be passed and the new character is free to play.
Each approved Trial Character automatically gains 800 Stat Points (SP) from the start, and they are permitted to take on any position that is equal to Rank 1. They are not allowed to occupy any other Ranks for the duration of the trial, but may be awarded higher Ranks upon being approved as a full character. Some examples would be a Seated Officer, an Academy Student, a Fracción, or anything similar. There is a spoiler in "Section 4: Types" that will show you what positions you can have at Rank 1. There is no specific time limit for how long a Trial Application is made available, but each application is only limited to ten threads. Once the limit is up after those ten threads are completed, no more threads can be entered with this character unless a full character application is completed for them with the appropriate length and quality.
The approved character may also be designated a Class. Each one begins at Class 5 or Class 4 depending on the originality of the content, but they can only be promoted to Class 3 at the maximum. Because of this, it is also possible to gain up to 1,100 SP total. Once these boundaries have been reached, a full application must be created for the character in order to allow them to get any stronger. Additionally, Trial Applications do not allow access to Skill Points (SkP), Canon Threads, Quest Threads, or any threads that are considered Death-Enabled (DE). They are permitted to enter Adventure Threads provided they go no higher than "Easy" difficulty. Unfortunately, Trial Applications cannot be made for any character who is a Sinner.
If any new members decide that they wish to fill out a Trial Application, please use this template and create a new thread with it specified as a Trial Character in the "Create a Character" board.Name: [Insert Here]
