"Most fascinating. Your zanpakuto can deal with the removal of heat as well as its production. However, the ice is dark. It seems to be deficient in light as well as heat. Might I infer that your zanpakuto's true power is not restricted to heat, but actually has to do with light? I would imagine your Bankai enables you to deal more discreetly and subtly, allowing you to manipulate light in more controlled forms and specific energies. I wonder whether you might actually be able to create matter with enough mastery such an ability.
Manabu stroke his beard intently as he spoke. He had been rather excited at first, but now he was practically lost in thought. He was now thinking about the possible effects of combat lenses and mirrors.

Zanken simply smilled and said, "Well you've got one part right. My Zanpakuto, Hakumei Juujigai, actually deals with the twin elements of Light and Darkness. The Shikai phase of it controls the more physical aspects of both elements, namely that of Fire and Ice. As for Bankai.. well, we'll see what that is when the time comes hmm?"
"In the mean time though, please turn around." Zanken simply said. When Manabu would turn around, he would see many different targets. Each target was made so that it would perfectly match each Kido's power. Essentially they were practicing how well they could do Kido as well as how many before collapsing.

Manabu complied and, upon turning around, he saw many different targets. He surmised that each target had been made perfectly so that it might match each Kido's power. Manabu wondered whether this would be just a test of skill or of endurance as well.
"I guess I'll start with Koungoubakuha." Manabu drew his katana and held it behind him in preparation to strike.

The Koungoubakuha that Manabu had fired off squarely hit the target, destroying it utterly. There were now pieces of burnt wood and what not all around the area of the target. However, another target took its place momentarily. "Good! That was a good shot. Every time you destroy a target, another will take its place. They get harder to destroy as you move along though." Zanken said with a smile.
Zanken suddenly pointed his finger at a target and said, "Hado #4: Byakurai" and a powerful beam of lighting shot out of his finger and pierced the target. It proceeded to hit four more targets that were behind that target, hitting dead center.

Manabu decided to go ahead and try out his favorite. He took his stance and pointed his fingers at a target with a spinning metal disk in the center. "Sho." He hit the disk and it flew back into another target. He fired again. And again. Again. The disk flew several more times, with less force each time until it finally stayed. That's when Manabu brought up his left and held it together with his right. "Sho." The disk flew back again but not a second time. "Ye lord! Putrid drop who bears the name of man! Stretch out your arm! Hado #1 Sho! The disk went back one final time. That would be the extent of Manabu's success with Sho.

"Good good! Keep going, this exersize is to improve your stamina and your ability to rapidly cast Kido while maintaining a good strength." Zanken said. Zanken turned to another set of targets and aimed his palm at it. Zanken gathered his Reitsu into his palm and called out, "Hado #31: Shakkaho!!" and a red orb of light blasted out into the target, exploding and destroying it. Zanken kept casting Shakkaho over and over, blowing away target after target. Eventually, he got to one that took more than one Shakkaho to destroy. He destroyed four more targets before he had to stop.

"Very well. This should be something of a strain for me." Manabu put up his hand and aimed at one of the targets. "Haien." A purple blast discharged from Manabu's palm and slammed into the target, which promptly incinerated. Another popped up on cue, and Manabu fired another. After 5 more Manabu had to stop and sit down for a bit.
"I really need to improve my spiritual abilities... and my physical abilities. At least my mental abilities are OK. This is going to take a lot of work and probably a lot of time. Gairain-fukutaicho, do you really think I can become an effective combatant, or should I take a desk job or something?"

"With enough hard work and talent, anyone can become effective at combat. Besides, even if you DID get a desk job, you would be called into combat when the Seireitei needs people the most. Its worth it to be good in combat." Zanken said.
Zanken quickly turned around and shouted, "Hado #33: Sokkatsui!!" and a blast of blue energy in the shape of a ball blasted out and exploded on a target. It took out two nearby targets as well. Zanken kept casting it, over and over and over, till he could not any more. Zanken sat down on a rock and got a tea pot out. Zanken got some water in a flask he had and poured it in and quickly started a fire. Zanken got out a different tea bag and put it in quickly. It took a little bit, but the tea was done. Zanken got out two cups and poured the tea. This tea had an unusual blend of tea leaves, which gave it a rather unique flavor.

Manabu sat by Zanken and the tea and took a cup. He smelled it for a bit first. This was, indeed, an unusual blend, and Manabu wanted to grow accustomed to the various elements and allow them to mix properly. After a minute or so of preliminary sniffing, Manabu took a sip. It certainly was unique. This is something of an acquired taste, but it isn't bad.[/i]
"This tea is certainly interesting. I think it might benefit from something bitter." Manabu continued to drink and breathed deeply. He closed his eyes for a bit and listened. There was light rustling of leaves in a nearby ash juniper. There was some chirping in the distance of what sounded like whitebirds. These were sort of Seireitei's answer to blackbirds. Manabu rather enjoyed learning about the species here that were not in the living world. The wind carried the smell of grass and a few other things.

"Feeling a little bit better now? That blend has a restoritive property. It melts fatigue away like ice." Zanken said, smiling. Zanken finished his cup of tea and got back up. He walked a bit aways and turned to Manabu. "Strike out with your strongest Hado. I'll show you my strongest Bakudo." said Zanken simply. What would Manabu do?
Post by Manabu Brock on Dec 26, 2010 0:06:15 GMT -5
Manabu didn't have a huge number of kido, and Zanken had already seen his most powerful. This would be more of a demonstration of Zanken's power than Manabu's. Manabu stood up and put out both of his hands. He proceeded to recite an incantation and finally shouted, "Hado #54: Haien!"
Post by Xaifer Regneis on Dec 26, 2010 0:18:40 GMT -5
Zanken brought his hand up. As the blast of purple fire drew near, Zanken said four simple words. "Bakudo #81: Danku" and a rectangular shield of Reitsu materialized into existance. It completely stopped the Haien, rendering it usless and defeated. "That is the strongest Bakudo I posess. Danku is an amazingly effective Bakudo, it can even stop up to Hado #89 if the person casting it is strong enough." Zanken said.
Zanken walked over to Brock and then asked, "So! What would you like to do now?"
Post by Manabu Brock on Dec 26, 2010 0:38:05 GMT -5
The answer was simple. "I want to learn Danku. Truth be told, I want to learn all kido, but right now I'm excited to learn Danku." Manabu saw a lot of potential in this Bakudo. He already began playing scenarios in his head for possible uses. Perhaps it could be used offensively. Manabu's eyes were alight with wonder and possibility. No doubt Shonen had the same expression on his face.
"Perhaps that's not a reasonable course of action right this moment. If it is, that would be great, but if it isn't... I'm not sure. Perhaps you have wisdom to share. What do you usually do?"
Post by Xaifer Regneis on Dec 26, 2010 14:43:56 GMT -5
"Hmmm... Danku is a bit to advanced for right now... but! This might interest you." Zanken said, his chin on his fist. Zanken suddenly pointed at Manabu and said, "Bakudo #61: Rikujukuro" and six rods of light materialized and slammed into Manabu, immobilizing him. "THAT particular Bakudo is also very usefull. The best part is you can stack more of the same on top of it. So you can use Rikujukuro and other binding Bakudo's overlaping each other to bind strong foes." Zanken said, releaseing Manabu. "You should be able to learn it to."

Manabu coughed with the force of the impact. He tried to move as Zanken spoke and found that he couldn't. This was, indeed, a useful bakudo. Manabu would be very interested to learn it and everything about it. Kido paralysis fascinated Manabu. To be fair, everything fascinated Manabu. However, this technique could prove very useful in more ways than one.
"Yes, I believe Rikujukuro will keep me occupied for now. How shall we proceed?"
