When Zanken caught Manabu's leg, he considered his options. Assuming he would let him take his leg back with reasonable force, Manabu would still have to deal with what was obviously going to be a multi-strike retaliation. However, there was no reason to think that he would have any more time than it would take to remove the leg before the attacks came. He therefore decided to take a purely defensive action and curled hunched himself together as best he could with a leg in the air and covered his face and torso as best he could. His arms made it through the first series as fond memories of Brown Kangaroo, his boxing teacher at the Academy came to the surface. The subsequent volleys eventually took away the strength of his arms and wreaked havoc all over him.
Manabu was lying on the ground with Zanken looking down at him. His hand was extended outward. Manabu grabbed it was quickly hoisted up.
He began looking around. "A moment please, Fukutaicho. Please, what herbs are in your tea?" Manabu began rubbing and slapping himself all over.

"Hehehe, THAT is a special secret my friend. I WILL say this though: I use Ginseng." Zanken simply said. It was true. Zanken had made it an effort to make sure that NOONE found out in his special brews of tea. After all, there were some things that people didn't want getting out. Zanken went around and helped Manabu retrieve the swords that had been thrown off during the encounter before hand.

"Very well. I understand. Could you perhaps tell me whether there are any from a list without identifying which specific ones?" Zanken agreed. There were none from Manabu's first list and at least one from his second. That would have to do. With permission, Manabu took some tea and rubbed it all over his torso and legs, then he took some tea essence and rubbed it on some specific places. He then stimulated the areas with his patented reiatsu needling technique. All this would help reduce the pain and irritation now and shorten the bruising period a fair amount.
During this, Zanken had gathered Manabu's zanpakuto for him and presented them to him.
"Arigato gozaimasu, Gairan-fukutaicho! Thank you very much for your patience!"

"Quick question, have you unlocked your Shikai yet? If so, I'll show you mine." Zanken asked and said to Manabu. Zanken might ALSO show him his Bankai, if Manabu did well enough that is.

"I have, Gairan-fukutaicho. Shall I show you?" Zanken nodded, so Manabu unsheathed his katanas and shoved the hilt of the right one into that of the tanto. He then brought it back over in front of him so that Zanken could read the inscriptions. Translated to English, they said (in order from longest blade to smallest), "From my teachers I learned much, from my colleagues more, and from my students most of all."
"Kansatsu (Observe), Shonen!" All three inscriptions changed so that each one now said when translated, "From ALL my teachers I grew wise."

"Hmmm.. interesting. The inscription changed. Well! Looks like i'll show you mine than eh?" Zanken said, grinning. Zanken then grabbed the hilt of his Zanpakuto with both hands and shouted out, "Reveal the path to the Heavens, Hakumei Juujigai!!", as he pulled hard with both hands, as if trying to break the sword in half. Suddenly, a bright white light was emitted from Zanken, and then was encased in a sphere. The sphere suddenly broke into a honeycomb pattern, and was blasted outwards from Zanken. Zanken was still standing there, though he had undergone a drastic change. Zanken was standing there with two Kodachi in his hands, one a dark purple color with a black gem on one side, a black and gold hilt, the other pure white, with an even whiter gem on one side, with a white and gold hilt. Both swords had no guards. Zanken's Shinakusho changed as well, it was now a white leather curiass that covered his whole body.

"Well, you could either get hit with the force of a bulldozer and then explode into fire and become a crispy charred corpse, or you could get impaled by dark ice and frozen into an ice sculpture before being crushed into little shards of ice." Zanken said nonchalantly.

"I don't like the cold." Manabu said simply. He took an attack stance and watched for a reaction, but he saw none. Once again, it looked like it was up to Manabu to attack, and it was probably a slightly better idea than waiting for his opponent to attack in this case. He flipped his wakizashi so the blade was down and came at Zanken swiftly.

As Manabu's sword came down at him, Zanken quickly batted it away with the sword in his left hand, the hand that held the dark blade. Zanken did this so fast and so precise, that Manabu might not know what happened. The sword in Zanken's other hand, the white sword, suddenly descended upon Manabu's head with the back of the sword facing Manabu's head. The sword would hit Manabu's head since it was going so fast. It would probably hurt a lot, but Zanken did it so it wouldn't cause any real damage.

Manabu could see what was happening, but he wasn't nearly fast enough to be able to block. Manabu went down with the impact. He missed a second or two, but he was standing again.
"I'm sorry, Gairan-fukutaicho, but what exactly do you want?"
Post by Xaifer Regneis on Dec 18, 2010 20:45:59 GMT -5
"What I want? Well, I haven't sparred against anyone in quite some time. I don't want to get rusty. Also, its simply nice to talk to people once in a while. Especially people who aren't always out to kill me. Plus... theres something about you. I don't know what it is, but its there." Zanken simply said. Zanken took up his stance again, ready whenever Manabu was ready to start again. The good thing about fighting fast people like Zanken, was once you started to grasp their movements, you could usually see peoples movements who were faster than you, but slower than the person you fought. Essentially it helped hone the reflexes and senses.

"I seriously doubt this is much exercise for you, fukutaicho. If you just wish to talk, it would be an honor for me, and you will not require any pretext to get me to agree. From now on, perhaps I should just attempt to demonstrate my abilities, and we can get to know each other. Shonen, let us show Gairan-fukutaicho our classroom. Please get your yellow folder."
The three blades in Manabu's hands dissolved into brilliant, green reiatsu, which flowed into his head through the eyes. Manabu took a Bak Fu Pai stance.
"Gairan-fukutaicho, may I suggest either diluting your tea with more water or drinking water while drinking tea or directly afterward? I believe this will correct what appears to be a slight problem in the flow through your kidneys and liver. As for your arm..." said Manabu as came out of his stance, staring at it with confusion, "it seems to be... dead?"

"You'd be surprised. I haven't tried to learn an upper body hand-to-hand combat style before. The one I had previously was soley lower body based. As for showing your abilitys, that would be great. I tend to learn a lot about people when my blade meets theirs.." Zanken said, replying to what Manabu had said. Zanken watched as Manabu's blades all vanished, and were replaced by a glowing green Reitsu that surrounded his head and then sank in through his eyes.
Zanken's eyes widened in surprise as Manabu said something about the flow of his kidneys and liver. Hmm.. an information based Zanpakuto? Or perhaps there was more to it. Perhaps that could just be one ability. So many possibilitys, no use fussing over them though. "Hehe... all right, if you do well enough, I might show you something special before we move on to Kido practice. If I DO show it to you though, you must not tell ANYONE else. Only four other people know of it in existance. As for my arm... this is a souviner from when I obtained the Blade of Heaven, Kodaiyiseki" Zanken said with a grin. Zanken shifted into his Ken no Shinkan style of swordsmanship, exept he had now altered it a bit to accomidate a two blade style. "Ready" Zanken said. This could be interesting. Very interesting.

Manabu charged forward at full speed mostly in order for Zanken to understand that he had not gained any speed with this ability. His strikes, however, were much quicker without blades in his hands and without focusing on power. Manabu was able to anticipate Zanken's initial swing and struck his elbow in order to stop the swing followed by a pressure point in his armpit and then his shoulder. He then moved across Zanken's torso to his other arm one pressure point at a time. Even if he'd strike as hard as he could, Manabu probably couldn't do any long-term damage, but he could shake him up a little.
