(Note: The following example is semi-ancient and not an accurate depiction of my highest quality work. Furthermore, it depicts Nami as she was on another site; she is going to be more comfortable with pressure here. Or at least, externally. Similar reactions may occur internally. Shade Kawada is the character of Death the Kid and I lay no claim to him other than being his semi-obsessive brain-aunt.)
“Ughh… Fuck…”
…
The night was silent for a few moments. Each ticked by so slowly, as if to emphasize the intensity, or perhaps the awkwardness, of the moment. Nami’s gaze, having been quite serious when she proposed her ingenious offer, grew more forceful and powerful as each slow second passed. Why, in the name of all thirteen of the Gotei captains, was it taking him such a terribly long time to respond? Surely the taller Shinigami was not considering declining her proposition? After all, was it not a win-win situation for the both of them? He would receive entire carcasses about once a month, thus sparing himself from self mutilation, and she would, hopefully, manage to keep this event a secret. If he denied her, then certainly he planned to turn her in! Stress returned to the woman, though it was in a much smaller fraction than before. Oh how she anxiously awaited his response…
“You’re telling me that you have absolutely no need for the carcass?”
“Uh…,”[/b][/color]
What was he doing? Had she not just forgiven him for thinking of her as less and for questioning her? What kind of fool would, mere moments after being (verbally or otherwise) scolded, continues the action he had been asked not to do? It was like he was petulant child and she was his underpaid, overworked baby sitter. However, Nami wasn’t even receiving pay for this torture! Her lip twitched downward slightly as he crouched down to look her in the eye once more. Not this again! The woman squirmed uncomfortably under his blank gaze. It was far to akin to the stare of a porcelain doll for the woman to handle. After all, even one so blood thirsty finds those things creepy…
Perhaps Nami had been too quick to forgive the male. But then, it was only naturally he ask questions, neh? She was asking to go into joint murder with, only a fool would do so without questioning his possible partner. If she were Shade, surely Nami would have done the same. Well, not really. If she were Shade, she’d probably just turn herself in. But that reality was what she needed to avoid. The woman sighed. She’d answer his questions, if not just to humor him.
“Well, anyone could find at least one use for a body but I don’t really need it for anything in particular…,”
The female Shinigami lied; her acting abilities making it seem rather believable. The idea of telling the truth hadn’t even crossed Nami’s line. Had it, she may or may not have told the eldest Kawada brother. But the spirit was far too used to deceit and lies to just blurt out her innermost secrets. Old habits die hard, after all. It would take more than that for Shade to break her. Much, much more…
“Tell me everything Ketsueki-san… Why would you be carrying a dead body with you? Please don’t tell me it was because you were trying to hide the evidence. We both know that a missing people can lead to a lengthy and thorough investigation as opposed to a clean murder.”
Nami inhaled rather sharply as Kawada restated his initial question. She had never contemplated shade would ask why she was carrying the lowly tenth divisions remains about with her. The woman felt very foolish for overlooking such an important detail in her ruse! As the male continued his mock interrogation, Nami’s feet buckled, perhaps from fear or because her injured limbs could no longer support her, and she slipped to the floor. Nami bit into her lip. There was no excuse that could possibly trick him, was there? She balled her hands into fists and looked to the stone road beneath her, leaving Tezcatlipoca out of her grasp and pinned into the floor. Perhaps, if she moved quickly enough, she could lop off the man’s head? No, it would take too long to wrench her sword from the path. She had three options. She could lie, she could remain silent, or she could tell Shade all there was to know. The first would certainly fail and the second only cause further pestering. Nami inhaled deeply before opening her mouth to speak. No words came out for a very long time. Could it be? Was she really so frightened?
“What I’m saying is that leaving behind a body without any incriminating evidence is better then starting a search for a missing person. Once they confirm the fate of this poor individual and don’t have any leads to go on they’ll most likely drop the case. So tell me… Why is it that you decided to bring along the carcass?”
The man spoke again, obviously trying to get an answer from the silent woman. She was trying to answer him but…it was hard. So many years keeping it locked away, Nami had never uttered anything about the topic in her entire life. But this, this was pathetic! She was being so weak and…no. She could not let anything scare her. Be it Shade or telling her secret. She had to be strong. It started out as an inaudible whisper, but she said it.
“D-Do you have something y-you like to eat, Kawada-san? We all have some preference, right? Perhaps Tamagoyaki is your favorite, it is fairly good. Or maybe Yudofu? Possibly even Yokan? Well, I do, too. However, mine is far from normal. I do not just like the food, I am obsessed with it. I am terribly addicted, worse than any alcoholic. I need it to get through life. To do anything, really. That ‘it’ is, well…,”
Nami’s voice hitched. No, she’d finish, she had started off so well. She’d tell him.
“…o-other Shinigami. I am a cannibal. It didn’t start out so sick! It started as means of survival! I didn’t want to do it, I had to do it. But…now…now it is not out of necessity. I don’t do it because I have to…I do it because….because…I…I want to…,”
At that moment, Nami felt lower than she ever had. She had admitted it to herself for once not internally, but externally, that she was a disgusting disgrace not fit to exist. She had admitted that, despite what she told herself when killing, she was in fact, a monster. Not only that, she had admitted it to Shade, a man who was after her job. A strange feeling overcame the woman, one she had not felt in many rears. A liquid leaked down her face. However, it was not warm, like blood. It was cool, and moved far more quickly. She gasped slightly when she saw her reflection in Tezcatlipoca’s mighty blade. Could it be? Was she…crying?
“…what? I’m…,”
"“Nami…calm down. Come on, calm down. Don’t let him see this! Show him your strength! If not, he will turn down your offer. And I don’t want to see you get jailed or killed, my sweet.”
Nami’s eyes opened wider at Tezcatlipoca’s sudden words. If he had not cut in with his calming, and slightly flirtatious, words, the spirit would have surely had a meltdown. But he did, and as such the woman was quick to cease her display of anguish. The death god looked to the man above her once again, eyes having regained their serious, albeit reddened from tears, appearance. The blue-haired being cleared her throat, assuring it would not crack as she spoke.
“But aside from that all…will you take my offer, Kawada Shade? It will prove to be a wise decision…,”
She spoke with such great authority and power that it would make one forget she had just broke down crying. It boomed louder than all the other nightly sounds. And once she had finished speaking, it was dead silent. As if even noise would flee from the woman. Such a wise thing noise is…

-Appearance-
Height/Weight: 5’10” / 150 lbs.
Physical Description:
If anything could ever be said of Nami, it would be that she has a ‘presence’ about her. Not only does she hold a commanding stature at five foot eleven inches, but there seems to be an ever present sense of control about her, an air of power that would take catastrophe to disrupt. This is reflected rather nicely by her facial structure. Overall, the woman has a diamond shaped face with a straight jaw line and rounded chin. She has small, hooded eyes that turn up slightly at the ends. The eye shape helps to present a serious look as they oppose the look of innocence, energy, and youth provided by large, round eyes. Nami also has long eye lashes, though they are not very thick or strong, causing breakage, and thus unevenness, to be common. The spirit’s nose slopes lightly off her forehead with a soft bridge and turns downward with a rounded tip. She has fairly small nostrils that are further concealed by the hood of her nose. Her lesser alar cartilages and Fibro-fatty tissue is not prominent either, being entirely proportionate to her thin nose and thus being thin themselves.
Due to countless years of training and good genetics, Nami possesses a lean and toned form. She seems to be all muscle, though this cannot be entirely true, as women do naturally carry some fat that most cannot rid themselves of. The spirit has averagely sized breasts, though she wishes she had none at all. It is so aggravating to do any sort of battle with the 'fun-bags' jumping all around. After almost five hundred years of searching, the woman can still not find a bra to properly hold the darned things. Aside from this, she has long legs that do hold some weight in the thigh, but do not imagine I mean to the point of cellulite or stretch marks. They are just not twigs. Nami is well known for her tan skin. The skin coloration is due to her constant sun exposure and the fact she is actually of Mesoamerican origin. The exact color is in about the middle of Yoruichi’s dark skin and Kenpachi-san's tan skin, which leaves her at cocoa-ish tone. It reflects light well and has an average complexion, though the occasional small scar can be found stained upon it. Another noteworthy characteristic is the cannibal’s very odd teeth. Unlike the normal human teeth, which are generally flat and small, Nami has large, pointed teeth. Some have even gone as far to compare them to those of a shark. Many rumors say that she carved her original teeth into this shape with a sword so she could chew her prey more efficiently. However, such cannot be assumed to be true, as Nami herself does not even know how she gained her rather macabre teeth. She just woke up with them when she appeared in Soul Society.
Nami has long, blue hair that falls in straight locks down her back. The blue tone is so dark that the only way to tell the difference between it and black is to look at in the sun. When shined upon by the bright ball of fire, Nami's hair shines blue. The long trait parts in the middle of Nami's head, so it flows down equally on both sides of her face. When using a gigai, Nami's appearance changes ever so slightly. First of all, her dark blue hair becomes entirely black when in this state. Her eyes turn a honey brown color. These changes were made so Nami wouldn't stand out, however, most believe it wouldn't really matter since humans have a wide array of colors and hues of hair and eyes now a days. Anyway, the last, dramatic change was made to her teeth. The pointed bones flatten down so that they resemble a human's teeth instead of a shark's.
Nami's eyes are a deep ocher with flecks of light brown within them. They almost resemble that of an owl or wolf in shade. In fact, the only difference between her own eyes and the pair of animal’s is the shape of her pupil. The ocher orbs are averagely sized, not increasingly large and circular nor small and rectangular, but somewhere in between. On another note, her pupils often times have strange contractions because of her disease. It is not uncommon for one pupil to contract or grow while the other remains normal. Though this is a subtle thing, it is slightly disturbing looking when noticed.
Nami wears the standard shinigami uniform. Everything is placed and worn according to the norm...in most ways. Nami's attire has a few personalizations that are not part of your average shinigami outfit. The first one is that the cloth and ends of the garment are extremely tattered from excessive battling and lack of repair. The second, more disgusting one is the fact that dried blood is splashed all over her attire. When people ask her why she refuses to wash the outfit, Nami just explains blood would get on it only a few minutes after being washed and that it would end up just being a big waste of her time. Conversely, though, he captain's haori is in perfect condition, lacking a single rip or stain. It is the sleeveless kind and is somewhat cinched at the waist. In gigai, she enjoys hats, blazers, vests, and cardigans paired with pleated pants or, in an unprofessional situation, dark jeans.

-Personality-
Dislikes:
- Arrogance: Nami is all too tired of the kind of people who toot their own horn. She realizes that no one is anywhere close to perfect and that those who claim to be are generally the worst kind of people. While self confidence is key, arrogance is about as helpful to opening the door to success as a single H20 molecule is to wash an elephant.
- Sloth: Life is a thing of a difficult nature. Those who believe that, “Things will just work out,” or that they mustn’t work too hard to get what they want are possibly the most irritating kind of people to the shinigami. Because of this, the fortunate-by-birth are generally disliked by the woman. Who are they to do nothing, yet get everything when she has worked so hard yet ended up at loss?
- Perverts: Is it not possible for any species to act civilized in the presence of its own kind’s opposing, or occasionally same, gender? Slimy perverts are a close second on Nami’s list of hated people. There animalistic nature is an insult to the whole species. It is so putrid how they lack self control…yet, isn’t that statement a little hypocritical? This leads me to another shady segment…
- Hypocrites: Can one not listen to their own words? If you say you are pro-life, why go get an abortion? Can humanity not stick to its word at all anymore? Nami realized long ago that words are just words and that actions define the true opinions and morals of a man. But then, actions are merely reactions to situations. As things change, so will the man’s morals. In the end, you cannot really trust anyone. Not even yourself.
- Herself: Nami knows she is a hypocrite. She recognizes this and always has. Her own actions, her own thoughts…both disgust her beyond words. The spirit, not taking pity on herself or making excuses for her the events in her life, finds herself to be the worst kind of monster. She despises those without control…yet she has no control over her own being, let alone much else. Such hypocritical things, yet she despises hypocrisy. Nami finds that she has dug herself her own grave, one that would take a miracle to climb out of. However, she will try, hands prying and pulling at the cemetery’s damp mud and twisted crab grass.
- Pop Music: In general, the sugary happy-go-lucky nature of modern pop music irritates the woman to no end. It is understandable if a solo artist or band has a mixture of both happy and sad music, but when everything is happy, Nami is just irritated. Life isn’t all bubbles and candy. Don’t lie to the world with such merry-time songs.
Likes:
- Home Décor: Though one would not suspect such by looking at the woman, she has a vivid love of decorating houses. Her own abode is amazingly neat and tidy, styled to be as calming as possible with light blues and greens dominating the home’s color spectrum. She finds that a room is built of one focal piece, of which everything else is based. She enjoys decorating because she can create a little sanctuary for herself, where the rotten world has no hold upon her. But then, she cannot hide inside forever…
- Cats: Felines are calming, relaxed, and elegant. Nami finds them to be the perfect pet compared their canine counterparts, though she has never owned the latter and has no plans ever to. While she currently does not own any animals, she has owned a number of felines in the past, ranging from the quirky Scottish Fold to the regal Persian.
- Being Right: Who doesn’t like to be right? Being right proves you superior to the one who is wrong or at least on the argued subject. Well, lest the argument is,” Are we going to die or not?”
- Water: Yes, everyone needs water, but Nami holds a special love for it. Be it a warm bath or cool shower, its gentle flow is an instant calmer. However, at the same time, it is cruel and unusual, stealing lives and possessions without batting an eye lash. This carried persona, spontaneous nature…water is something to be both admired and feared. Though this could be said of nearly any of nature’s forces, water just has a more of a range. Fire can be helpful, but even then it is dangerous. Wind can be of use as well, but its violence is more pronounced and less a subtlety. Water on the other hand is the basis by which all exists, and it is also by what many die. It s existence is a poetic one, but it is nothing more than a combination of particles. However, isn’t everything?
- Fedoras: Perhaps only because they have always been both edgy and casual or that Nami just likes hats in general, the spirit has always been fond of the creased head wear. She would never wear one on the job, too unprofessional, but around her own home or when out to grab a bite, why the hell not?
- Psychoanalysis: Nami is constantly, and I do mean constantly, studying everyone and everything around her. Survival is about adapting to your surroundings and since her concern is surviving her own life and not the continuation of her species, she doesn’t have generations to evolve physically in a drastic manner. As such, she tries to understand the mental standing of those around her in order to avoid trouble. After years, she has become a master at this, able to delve into the minds of others with ease and, generally, at least a good idea of their position. However, with such skills comes the constant analysis of herself by herself. It is quite upsetting to be analyzing your own thoughts and knowing you shouldn’t me walking round freely…
Flaws:
- Paranoia: The woman is always thinking someone is out to get her, that her next moment will be her last, or that all hope is lost of her ever becoming freed of her game of survival. Even if she is totally alone and at peace, some part of her mind will be predicting her own execution and how children tell stories of the beast woman Ketsueki Nami who swallowed all but was silenced by some unnamed hero to scare their friends and little siblings over a camp fire…
- Cannibalism and Addiction: Nami is a cannibal, no ifs, ands, or buts. She consumes her fellow shinigami ferociously, with little empathy or care...that is, until the process is done. However, while such guilt does gather in the back of her mind, her addiction to rush or murder and very taste of her fellow’s flesh is well worth the risk to her. She has tried to quit, and she probably would be able to if not for her fiendish Zanpaktou, but to no avail. The spirit has told no one of her twisted secret. And if she ever did, well, they’re dead. No ifs, ands, or buts…
- Disease: The female shinigami has Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, which is a degenerative neurological disorder that is incurable and invariably fatal. The fatality has slowed to near standstill because the woman is technically already dead, though it will kill her eventually if she is not killed in another manner sooner. The symptoms of this disease are dementia, seizures, and changes in movement patterns such as gait and posture. Dementia alone causes memory loss, personality changes, and hallucinations. This disease is caused by the progressive death of the brain's nerve cells, which is started by the build-up of abnormal prion proteins. The way to become infected with Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, as Nami has, is to consume an infected creature or to partake in cannibalism often.
Habits:
- Hair Pulling and Knotting Hands in Hair: The woman’s dark locks have, if anything, been heavily abused over the years. When a stressful moment rears its head and she finds herself alone and left to think about it, the strands are tugged at and battered to no end. Years ago she was far rougher than she is, however, within the past century she has toned it down, as she has found stress plus hair cruelty leads to, well, the hair falling out. Which no one wants, mad cannibal or otherwise.
- Lip Licking: Yet another nervous habit, Nami is almost constantly licking her lips, whether or not they are dry. Though this leads to further cracks, dryness, and, occasionally, bleeding, the momentary relief is generally all she needs to brave a bumpy road ahead.
Fears:
- Thanatophobia/Thantophobia (Fear of Death or Dying): Yes, the majority of, or all of, humans fear for the day their lives will end. However, Nami’s entire life revolves around her, well, staying alive. This is rather counter-productive, as in focusing solely on staying alive;, as Nami misses out on the very thing she is attempting to preserve. She takes not a moment to contemplate the things happening now and just plans and plans for the days ahead, operating like some sort of machine.
- Eremophobia (Fear of being oneself): Nami has a strange self-hate relationship with herself. She is utterly revolted by her nature and her lack of control, and in the end, is afraid of what will happen if she does not change. The woman often wishes she could magically be someone else. Surely a fresh start like that would fix everything, right? …right?
Goals:
- Survival: Nami’s only true goal in life to remain alive. She cares not how this goal is met or who she may crush in the process, only that it occur.
- Peace: Another goal, though less thought about, is her want to be at peace. She has been fighting for her life for so long, has been through so much. How much more will she have to endure before she can just lie down in grass and watch the clouds drift by?
- Friendship: It could be said that the woman has never had an actual friend. Her thoughts have never been shared and her feelings always bottled up. Perhaps if she could find a friend, someone to talk to who wouldn’t turn her in…perhaps then her life would get better. But such wishes are better left to fairy tales. No one will come save her from the tower she built herself.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Overall Personality:
It has been said people are a lot like ice bergs, showing only the very tip of their person to the world and hiding the majority away. This is extremely true of Nami, to the point that not even the tip appears above the icy water. Instead, a false tip pokes out and all the truth lays away, unseen and unheard. Her false persona is not sociable nor is it kind, as such proves hard to pull off when entangled in a web of lies and murder. Rather, it is hard, stern, and unforgiving. She permeates a feeling of strength, of unbridled confidence and an untamable will. The spirit is the kind of person an average Joe would be afraid to approach, as if she could consume your soul in a moment’s time if you dared to do such a thing. Yet, at the same time, Nami seems to be trustworthy enough, as if she would take a secret to the end and protect her friends with her life. If someone could get past her hard exterior, they’d have a wonderful friend for like, even if he lacks any softness, much like a cactus among lilies. She is also highly respectful of other captains and the captain commander, sometimes even cracking a smile when they are around. Calm, calculating, and vicious, she is not one to mess with but a face you can count and depend on…if she doesn’t absolutely hate. If she does well…
you’re screwed.
But then, the prior is all just a hard shell to protect her soft innards. True, Nami in her natural state is not the happiest or friendliest of people and does somewhat line up with her false-persona, she is far less stern and collected. Granted, she is actually very nervous, very scared. She does not know what will happen if her plans do not go accordingly and fears the worst of everything. That said, that does not mean she has break downs if something goes wrong. On the contrary, Nami thinks on her feet far better than the average shinigami and is quick to create four or five routes in which to react. This is one of the major reasons she does well as the captain of the first response division, as they often head into situations without really knowing what’s happening. Nami keeps people alive with her quick mind, which is good for others and for her, as it accredits her as a good, loyal shinigami who could never possibly kill one of her own for no reason…right? Dumb asses.
Furthermore, Nami could be called lonesome. She tires off her solitary lifestyle, tires of the pain that isolation brings. However, she dare not make a real friend as such closeness will lead to death for her. She must stay alive, that is all the matters. Nothing else matters, nothing at all. This is the mantra she tells herself over and over, the mantra she has known for countless years. Aside from the death alone…if she were to create a bond with someone, she’d have to kill them without a second thought. And the sad part is, after so long and after her time in organized crime, it isn’t just a ‘have to’, it is ‘would, without a single doubt’. Life is about survival and nothing more. You could be her best friend, her beloved, or her child; she would kill you if it was in her best interest. At least, that’s what she tells herself. She has betrayed people in the past many times, killed those she knew but…what if she truly got close to another? She often ponders what she’d really do…
Nami thinks on a very high level. She ponders everything she can, and learns all that is possible. After all, knowledge is power and power is need in order to survive. Though her thoughts can be seen as both radical and mad, they always have some sense to them. Whether one hates her or worships her, no one can call Nami stupid. She is far too cunning and quick witted to be known as such. A few people refer to her as a visionary or philosopher, but this just makes Nami uncomfortable. She is not used to such attention and is not comfortable with it because it always leads to questions and curiosity, which lead to answered questions. This could quite possibly spell death for the tan spirit which, as stated previously, is not something she wants in the slightest.
The last bit of her personality is actually just a side effect of her disease. She is prone to short fits of mania and drastic personality changes, which is another reason why she is very hard to figure out. However, the shinigami is usually able to predict the changes and, fortunately, hide during the time period she is not herself. The fits of mania, conversely, are totally unpredictable and have caused quite a few problems in the past. So, in short, you can just never really say what ‘kind’ of person she is. Even when the whole ice berg is brought up, its twisted form is unreadable.

-Powers-
Fighting Style:
Nami has two very distinctive and very different fighting styles. The first is what you would expect of Eleventh Division’s Fukutaichou, brutal and ruthless. She uses this method when her zanpakuto is in its sealed form, since a sword is much better for harsh combat than a mirror is, obviously. When fighting in this way, Nami tends to run right at her opponent fearlessly and swing at them until they can no longer fight back or are dead. Though some may grow tired from the constant swinging, after a few hundred years, Nami has grown used to it. However, if the opponent manages to try and attack back during her endless barrage of swings, she will try and jump back a few meters in order to escape the assault. Nami does this because blocking or parrying is far from her strong hold, thus making it much easier to simply dodge the attack. If ever disarmed, Nami will use hand-to-hand combat in order to continue the battle, since retreat is not an option for an Eleventh squad member. However, her form of fighting when disarmed is very unlike her skills with a sword. This leads me to her second, more serene method.
When using her Shikai, bankai, or hand-to-hand combat, Nami moves in a very flowing, majestic manner. Many have compared her movements to that of a dance, but the shinigami shoots this silly accusations down by saying,” It’s a rare battle style an old master once taught me. Do not compare it to the useless act of dancing around like a fool!”However, this is a lie. The woman has no idea where she learned the elaborate twists and turns of this attack, and Nami will probably never remember that they are old steps to a ritualistic dance the priestesses around the temple she grew up in taught her. However, even if it is just a dance interpreted into battle, the results are generally positive.
Continuing on, while using hand-to-hand combat, she will dance her way around her opponent at high speeds until she sees an opening. Once Nami notices her chance, she will charge at her opponent and attacks using a style similar to Capoeira, the Brazilian art of dance fighting. Once Nami has landed three or four hits, the blue haired shinigami will jump back out of the way and the process will repeat. If she has her Shikai released, which is a ditch attempt, Nami generally just releases one of her beasts upon her opponent. Moreover, bankai is a last resort with in a ditch attempt. It is rare to see it used. Also, dodging is very easy, since a simple dance step can quickly get you out the way of an incoming attack. Finally, kidou is used as a last resort as Nami has never been very good at it as it is and it is frowned upon by Eleventh Division members, and she spent a good time amount of time in those blood soaked barracks.
Zanpakutou Spirit Appearance(Optional):[/b]
Tezcatlipoca has a very stark and, to be quite frank, disturbing appearance. He stands taller than seven foot, and eight would not be unbelievable. He has four spindly arms, the spare two located directly underneath the natural pair, and his legs are abnormally long compared to his upper body. However, only the right of his lower limbs holds a foot. The left, in place of a foot, has some sort of primitive artificial part made of wood and tied together with rather old, thin rope that somewhat resembles twine. He carries a large walking stick around because of this. Do not think this is disturbing? Well, allow me to mention that Tez, as Nami refers to him, is a hulking piece of rotting organic material. He resembles the modern idea of a zombie, being nothing but a skeleton with a few pieces of shriveled flesh and muscle clinging to his form. Furthermore, the only kind of ‘clothing’ to cover his decomposed form is rags and scraps which, after years of exposure to his rotting body, are left stained, disgusting, and knotted in his bones. However, all of his internal organs seem to be intact and actually move while being completely visible through his ribcage. To add to this, when he hungers, blood spills from his open chest cavity and pus, grime, and dead tissue spill from his mouth. The longer Nami denies him, the worse this becomes.
Surprisingly enough, though, Tezcatlipoca is a very quiet and gentle soul most of the time. However, with this silence, in a similar manner to Nami’s own, is merely a thin veil over a gruesome secret. While he speaks philosophically and can commonly be trusted to assist Nami in her problems, it is best not to trust him. After all, everything comes with a price, and in his case that is the price of spilled blood. Tezcatlipoca will suddenly go from silent and generous to insane and evil in a manner of moments if his need for blood is not satisfied. Not to mention he will not respond to Nami's commands on the battlefield unless he is content with the amount of gore he has received from her. Due to this craving, Nami often has to spill innocent blood so she can control her zanpakuto. The shinigami hopes that the Gotei 13 never hear of her murders.
Inner World(Optional):[/b]
Nami's zanpakuto's inner world is very humid and wet. This is due to the fact it is a small, vine covered ruin located in a tropical rainforest of sorts. The dilapidated temple is Mesoamerican in design and obviously very old. Though it does not seem very large above ground, the building actually has many underground passage ways and rooms that go on for miles. Her spirit is usually hanging around the entrance to the old temple or somewhere deep within it. Lastly, the forest the surrounds continues on forever, having no end to the tropical plants.
Zanpakutou Appearances:
Tezcatlipoca, in its sealed form, is an uchigatana, the predecessor of the katana. Its blade is of average length, has a curve near the sword’s point, and is a reflective in nature, much like a mirror. The hilt is made of vertically standing, black and silver, elliptical segments. They segments are patterned so that black never touches black, and silver never touches silver. Each segment meets the next with a glass clasp that seems, but really doesn't, to hold them together. Finally, the bottom of the hilt has a secret compartment in which Nami stashes the antidote to her shikai’s poison and various other small objects.
Tezcatlipoca, when released, takes on a dramatic change of appearance. It changes from a large uchigatana into a small, humble mirror. This mirror has perfectly round glass that is framed by a bronze-like metal with a scale like texture of the same shape. One the metal framing is also a design that reminds most of the rays of the sun.
Zanapkutou Release Names(Include both Shikai and Bankai names, and call out phrases)
Shikai - Ihzaz, Tezcatlipoca (He Will Wake Up, Smoking Mirror)
Bankai - Tepeyollotl, Tezacatlipoca (The Inner Mountain, Smoking Mirror)
Overall Ability:
Nami’s zanpakuto, in short, summons various beasts with toxin based abilities. They all have some reference to Aztec mythology and all are undead or zombie-esque is appearance.
Shikai Overall Ability:
The spirit's shikai summons an undead woman who emits venomous infant heads from her abdomen as well as a canine-like creature that vomits a mild acid.
Bankai Overall Ability:
The spirit’s bankai summons a pair of decomposing jaguars that are extremely strong and fast as well as being able to release a potent cytotoxin and acid. Furthermore, it changes Nami's attire slightly, adding a painted red line that runs over her eyes, extending from a little above the eyebrow to slightly below the eyes. Additionally, a skinned jaguar pelt joins her clothing, the head pulled over her own as a cap and the remaining body cascading down like a cape or cloak.
Zanpakuto Techniques:
Shikai
Cihuateteo (The Fallen Goddess):
This attack has been known to cause some opponents to faint without it even hitting them. This is due to the fact it is extremely disgusting and can easily cause the more squeamish a big problem. The estranged attack is activated when Nami holds her zanpakuto in front of her chest and states the attacks name, which will then cause the entire corpse of a woman to emerge from the mirror. This undead being will then rip open its own abdomen. From inside her chest cavity small, flying, skulls emerge in a flock of about thirty or so. The tiny creatures are about the size of a newborns head and have purple tentacles sticking out of their holes and cracks as well as dark bat wings sprouting from where the ears would have been had they been alive. Though the smaller beings can be killed quite easily, a simple slash or even a direct punch can do them in, they are very deadly. If one bites a creature, poisonous venom will be injected into the body of the creature by the skull's long, pointed fangs. This venom shuts down the inflicted being's nervous system wherever it spreads. (Removes fifty from speed stat for every bite) If enough toxin is injected (Speed stat reaches zero) the victim will become entirely paralyzed. The paralyzed state will last about twelve hours, at the most, if not treated in the slightest. Also, if a paralyzed area is left untreated too long it can become permanently paralyzed, but this is extremely, extremely rare rare. In order to stop the flow of venom and keep the risk of paralyzation in one area, you only need to do what you would do for a poisonous snake bite. (Hold area below heart; remove clothing from area, etc.) Furthermore, if the original corpse is killed, all the heads will explode. Moreover, more heads will emerge if you do not handle the woman quickly since the attack does not have a time limit. For every head destroyed, a new one soon takes its place. ( If a head is destroyed, a new head will take its place on Nami's following post ) Lastly, the poison is one that is used by some poisonous hollow, so the Fourth Division and other medical offices most likely carry antivenom for it.

Ahuizotl:
Yet another unnerving attack, Ahuizotl is Tezcatlipoca's second ability. By placing the mirror on the ground and pronouncing the odd name, Nami activates the attack. Once enabled, the move causes an ugly, gruesome creature to crawl from the mirror's depths. Patches of rotting, brown fur and pink flesh cling to the skeletal structure of the monster, which is that of a large dog. However, this dog has a rather unusual tail. Instead of short, furry tail, the long green body of an Anaconda sprouts from the beast's rump. About twenty five feet long, the appendage is used to grab and constrict enemies. At the top of the momentous extension of the beast's spine are the bones of a human hand. The oddity is fully functional and is used to pick objects up. If the tail is cut off, it acts as its own being, completely separate from the dog. This freakish dog will remain on the battlefield till shikai runs out, it is killed, or Nami calls it back to its home in the mirror's depths.

Camachaloa (To Open One's Mouth):
This is a follow up ability to Ahuizotl. It is a command to the strange dog like beast. When uttered, the creature vomits up a mild acid that, while potent enough to burn and damage skin and organic material to the point of extending into the reticular dermis (Second degree [deep partial thickness]), is too weak to disintegrate anything entirely. The steaming, thick, green substance can be used in a two ways. Sprayed at an opponent, it can be used as a direct attack. Spread across the floor, it can be used to limit the enemy’s mobility. Also, the rotting being can spray the acid in a few ways, extremely similar to a hose nozzle. Be it straight, thick stream or a broad, wide mist, each 'setting' has its own purpose. Camachaloa can be used in strings, the down time between each fire being nearly nonexistent. The acid left on the floor evaporates in five posts. Lastly, Nami, too, is affected negatively by the acid. However, she can ride the undead animal which is, thankfully, immune to the acidic substance.
Bankai
Tecunais (Wild Beasts):
Two decomposing jaguars join Nami at her side, no larger than the ones that occur in nature. Their flesh has long peeled away, exposing grey-ish brown bones and pale organs that still move and twitch. They lack much muscle and ligaments, the remaining hanging off their somehow moving skeletons, a mere after thought. Despite this, each beast is incredibly strong, to the point that tearing an arm off is akin to shooing a fly off in terms of difficulty. In fact, a stamp of their feet could crack and shake the ground. Furthermore, they are unusually fast, beating out the average shinigami easily, even when using shunpo. The only vibrant color on the rotting beasts is green, as moss clings to their skeleton and the surprisingly intact glands pressed in to their jaws shine through in all their neon green glory. Similarly, the front claws of each beast are abnormally long and are also the same shocking color. Lastly, in place of a tail on both is a long snake, though it is not nearly as thick or large as the anaconda in the spirit’s shikai. If cut off, the snake wills act on their own.

Xotlatoc (Burning/It is Burning):
This ability activates the neon green glands in the jaguars’ jaws as well as their green, front claws. The glands begin producing an acid similar to the one in shikai, however, this one is more powerful. It causes third degree burns, meaning it extends all the way through the dermis, unlike the weaker shikai version. While having the same spraying abilities as the dog-creature Ahuizotl, the front claws also drip the acid with the Tecunais. However, while this does prove a major problem for the opponent, the claws only remain filled with acid for six posts before needing to be refilled by the glands. The refilling period is about one post of the user (Nami). The glands themselves are ever working and do not need to refill to spray. The refill period is actually caused by the distance between the jaw and front claws, not because of a lack of acid. The acid affects Nami as well, but not the jaguars, which can support her and be used as a ride.

Cocotona (To Dismember, Destroy, and Demolish):
This ability activates the venomous glands in tail-snakes, awaking the powerful cytotoxin with in them. A cytotoxin is a cell destroyer, eating away at tissue and entire organs if left untreated. It uses Phospholipase, an enzyme that transforms the phospholipid molecule into a lysophospholipid (soap), to attract and bind fat and rips holes in the cell membrane. Consequently, water flows into the cell and destroys the molecules within. This is called necrosis. However, while regular necrosis occurs at a slow rate, this venom causes a hyper reaction, increasing the speed by a large fraction. It take seven of the user's (Nami's) post to reach severity where the flesh of the majorly inflicted areas grows chippy, green, and useless. Every post of the infected leads to half a foot of spread poison. Newly affected areas take another even of the user's (Nami) posts to become completely consumed. Lastly, this ability affects Nami, though it is unlikely she get infected because she controls the creatures. The cytotoxin is one used by some venomous hollow, so medical offices will know how to treat it and will carry an antivenom.

Other Techniques:
Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash steps), a movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the bases of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded far easier in a shorter amount of time. A single step magnifies speed for that step by 10 times. Uses 50 Reiatsu per step. This one is automatically learned in the academy. ALL shinigami know this when created.

-History-
Birthplace: Tenochitlan, Aztec Empire
Current Residence: Third Division Barracks
Memorable Figures:
Mother: The main wife of the head priest of a temple large temple in Tenochitlan. She was benevolent and was interested in providing her daughter Zyanya with the best life possible.
Father: The head priest of a large temple in Tenochitlan, he lacked any major care for any of his children. However, despite a lack of any kind of bond with Zyanya, he hesitated in killing her and was sickened at the ritual performed after her death. Furthermore, his illness is what caused Zyanya to start cannibalizing and, ultimately, lead to Nami's addiction.
Shinigami Male: A, now retired, seated member of the Gotei Thirteen, he sent Zyanya's soul to Seireitei. Without him, it could be very possible that Zyanya would be Francisca Arun Dorentz, arrancar, rather than Ketsueki Nami, shinigami.
Ketsueki Yutaka: The male was the crime lord of the sixty-ninth district in his time. When Zyanya first arrived in the district, he rescued her from a pair of thugs. He named her 'Nami' when she stated she was nameless and took her home with the intention of selling her off. However, he found her to be rather interesting and opted to adopt her instead. Well, that or he had some intention to keep her for himself. No one will ever truly know. The gang boss died in a midnight siege of the gang's base, leaving Nami as heir to the twisted throne. He was a man of no empathy or patience, a rat by every definition.
Young Woman: Despite saying but one thing to Nami, this woman proves extremely important. She was a prostitute hanging around at the gang base when the siege occured, so naturally, she ran. She was caught and thrown in the same cell as Nami and others who ran, left to starve. Her will deteriorated quickly, and she soon entered a maddened rage, dropping dead soon after. This woman's carcass was the spirit's first cannibalistic consumption as Nami. Her flesh awoke the addiction once more.
