Iron Tiger Tradition
These are the techniques part of the Iron Tiger Tradition. In order to take Tier 4 techniques in this Bu Gei, Body of Iron must first be Learned. After that, taking techniques of a higher Tier requires a greater number of techniques from the previous Tier to be Learned (i.e. learning a Tier 2 technique requires at a minimum, two Tier 3 and three Tier 4 techniques).
Technique Name: Body of Iron
Class: 7, 4, 1
Technique Type: Passive Bu Gei, Base Tier
Usable By: Any type that boosts a Physical stat or does not boost a Spiritual stat.
Technique Element: Metal
Technique Description and Effects: The user gains a kinetic capacity equal to five times their post-type Strength stat. Whenever the user is struck by a physical attack that uses Strength as its Offensive Stat, they reduce the Offensive Strength of that attack by 1.5% for each other Iron Tiger Tradition technique they have at least Learned. Offensive Strength drained by this technique is absorbed into the user's kinetic capacity.
When this technique is Proficient, the Offensive Strength reduction per Iron Tiger technique known increases to 2%. When this technique is Mastered, 2.5%.
The Class 4 version of this technique increases the user's kinetic capacity to a total of 7.5 times the user's post-type Strength stat. The Class 1 version increases it to a total of 10 times their Strength.
How to use technique: Strengthen the body by consuming a special, amrita-rich tincture and training endurance beneath a waterfall or similar high-pressure environment.
Technique Drawbacks: To learn this technique, the user must have first purchased and consumed at least one Amrita-Rich Tincture. To use Iron Tiger techniques during a thread, another tincture must be consumed. Requires taking a hit before it will activate. The user must have a Strength of at least 100 before Learning this technique. If the user's kinetic capacity does not have room for the incoming Offensive Strength, any excess is not reduced. During any post in which the user spends kinetic capacity, their High-Speed Regeneration (if any) does not function.

Technique Name: Tiger Claws
Class: 7
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 4
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By swiping with their hands, feet, or other appendages, the user is able to actively slash those that get caught in the range of their unarmed attacks. These attacks will leave cuts and gashes as though the user had been wielding a blade. By spending kinetic force, the user can increase the Strength of the attacks they make like this in a one-to-one ratio, up to an additional 25% of their post-type Strength per rank in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill.
How to use technique: Swipe an open hand or foot with each attack made.
Technique Drawbacks: Situationally useful. Requires taking hits or separate build-up of kinetic force for a single-application increase, which is dangerous in its own right.

Technique Name: Reversal of Fates
Class: 7, 2
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 4
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By spending kinetic force equal to the Offensive Strength of an incoming hand-to-hand or melee weapon attack, the user converts a received blow of up to Class 6 into a returned blow, redirecting incoming force through their body and projecting it back outward. The Class 2 version of this technique can redirect attacks up to Class 1, but the user must pay 100% more kinetic force for any attack with a Class that exceeds their own.
If the user has at least 3 ranks in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill, they may add their own Strength to the Strength of the returned attack.
How to use technique: See above.
Technique Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost and kinetic capacity cost.

Technique Name: Tiger Drum
Class: 6
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 4
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: Projecting and rebounding force within their own muscles, the user gains kinetic force as though they had been hit by an attack with their own physical Strength. Each post that this technique is used in, characters with at least 100 Instinct, 100 Senses and no more than 0 ranks in Lack of Fear are subconsciously intimidated by the user’s display of raw strength, giving the user an additional half a second of reaction time with the next attack they direct at the user due to their own hesitation.
If the user has at least 2 ranks in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill, the fear-based portion of this effect bypasses the fear immunity given by 100 or higher light aura.
How to use technique: Rapidly prime, clench and antagonize muscle groups in an audible, cyclic rhythm to build up kinetic force internally.
Technique Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost. Due to the intense focus of initiating the rhythm of this technique, during the first post the user employs this technique, they suffer a -1 penalty to Mental skills.

Technique Name: Mind and Soul
Class: 6
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 4
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By taking time to center the soul and reassert primacy, the mind realigns the spirit to match its state of harmony. The user may shift any amount of pre-type Stat Points from their Instinct into a Reiatsu Efficiency Factor and vice versa. For every 1 Instinct the user moves into this Reduction, it pays for the first 4 reiatsu of their non-release techniques and effects, each post. For every 4 additional points of reiatsu the user sheds each post, their Instinct increases by 1.
For every rank the user has in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill, this technique pays for an additional 50 reiatsu in non-release technique and effect costs per post.
How to use technique: See above.
Technique Drawbacks: This technique can only be utilized once every three posts. Increasing Instinct takes up a Long-Term Stat Boost slot, but that number can be increased and decreased as necessary every three posts; the slot will only be used once Instinct is balanced out or decreased.

Technique Name: Mountain Mover
Class: 5, 2
Technique Type: Passive Bu Gei, Tier 3
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By utilizing the stored kinetic force within the user, they’re capable of outputting rather powerful strikes to send their foes flying. For every 10 stored kinetic force, a target struck with this technique will be sent back one foot, at a speed equal to the user’s Strength. At Class 2, this is increased to one foot for every 5 stored kinetic force. If a target is incapable of moving, it will instead move the user.
How to use technique: Simply strike an opponent, and release a minute amount of built-up energy in their direction.
Technique Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost. Requires large amounts of kinetic force to send a target large distances.

Technique Name: Tortoise Killer
Class: 5
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 3
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: Through a rending strike, the user can rip and tear through any sort of armor or equivalent that their target might be wearing. By spending an amount of kinetic force, the user can channel that through the armor of an individual, reducing its durability by an equal amount, and its IP/OS by half of that.
How to use technique: Spend kinetic force through a slashing attack, and tear apart armor in the process.
Technique Drawbacks: Can be done once per post, and requires a large amount of kinetic force to make it worthwhile. Situationally useful, and requires a slashing attack to perform.

Technique Name: Heart of Iron
Class: 4
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 3
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By becoming a master of their own body, and taking the teachings of the Iron Tiger Tradition to heart, the user absorbs more Strength from attacks. +0.5% per other Learned Iron Tiger Tradition technique for Learned, +1% for Proficient. +1.5% for Mastered. Heart of Iron lasts for a number of posts equal to the user’s ranks in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill.
How to use technique: Train under endurance under a stream of falling sand while meditating on the meanings of the Iron Tiger Tradition teachings, internalizing their tenets.
Technique Drawbacks: Reiatsu cost as normal for a Class 4 technique.

Technique Name: Tiger Soul
Class: 2
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 2
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: Weaponizing their body with little of the spirituality behind it, the user is capable of turning attacks against them back toward their sources. While Tiger Soul is Learned, the user is capable of utilizing 25% of their post-type Strength to inflict cutback if above their Spiritual Pressure per rank in the Iron Tiger Tradition skill, capped at 100% with 4 ranks.
How to use technique: The body and the soul are distinct yet unified. As one reflects, its illumination becomes the umbra of the other. The body is the soul’s light, and the soul is the body’s shadow. Embrace and internalize this philosophy.
Technique Drawbacks: Comes with the same problems that normal cutback has. Those that strike the user can use their Spiritual Pressure or Strength to resist this inflicting of Cutback, but cannot utilize their Strength to inflict it upon the user.

Technique Name: Heart-Rending Claws
Class: 2
Technique Type: Physical Bu Gei, Tier 2
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: By spending an amount of kinetic force equal to the strength they strike with a slashing attack, the user is capable of inflicting wounds that become much, much more difficult to heal. All forms of High-Speed Regeneration cannot heal the wounds left from this technique, and techniques must be of at least Class 3 in order to heal the wounds left.
How to use technique: By releasing stored kinetic force, the user is capable of inflicting much more dire wounds on those they strike.
Technique Drawbacks: Kinetic force cost. Slashing attacks are required. A high enough Strength to break through any defensive abilities is required in order to utilize this technique, meaning the cost is likely to be large as well.

Technique Name: Iron Coil
Class: 1
Technique Type: Passive Bu Gei
Usable By: Anyone who has learned Body of Iron
Technique Element: None
Technique Description and Effects: Whenever the user employs a non-passive Iron Tiger Tradition technique, their body and mind prime themselves for one impact, permitting the user to strike back at attackers with Speed equal to 20% of their stored kinetic force, up to 3x their Speed. If they do, their returned strike runs directly counter to the angle of the incoming attack, causing any kinetic force they spend as a result of their counterstrike to cancel that attack if it meets or exceeds the Offensive Strength of that attack.
If the user has 4 ranks of the Iron Tiger Tradition skill, they can use this technique up to twice per post.
How to use technique: Strike just before an incoming blow, and redirect the force used from that attack back toward the assailant.
Technique Drawbacks: This technique can be used no more than once per post. To employ this technique, the user must forego one of their Long Term Stat Boost slots for the thread; once this cost has been paid, Iron Coil can be primed and used any number of times during the thread. If the cost cannot be paid, then the technique will not function for the thread.
