The night time was always the best time to wander around. Really like the only time to wander around for her own sake. Scampering around the streets looking for what needed to be done. The taste of blood was still fresh in her mind. Copper like, and down right disgusting in every manner in which it tasted. A hint of sweetness at first drop but the bile after taste was what caught the majority of her buds into a frenzy that made her want to gag. A taste that she wouldn't forget ever considering what it surrounded. The Quincy girl's flesh. Even now, Elke couldn't believe it. What she had done was an abomination in every sense of the word, and action. The Sinner really never though that she would go that far. Sure yeah she was hungry, but still. What she did made her puke afterwards. She couldn't stomach what she had done. But she had to. The weight that dropped into her stomach as she was eating her. A taste that will never go away. A new sense of reality of what she was.
Elke held the cold brick in her hand. The red velvet color of it in the dark was almost similar to the layer of fluids that stained her hands that day. A sin that she will never be able to be forgiven of. A sin that urged to her move again, and making sure that she doesn't commit to that ever again. Her ways had to change, no matter how it seemed to others. A sudden crash was made with the brick to the glass window. An explosion of fragmented shards bursting inward into the store, and littering the floor with cutting glass. The Sinner had enough, not wanting to do that ever again, ever to feed on the flesh of other living beings to survive out in the streets. If it meant that the Quincy girl had to steal to survive, then so be it.
A shadow entered the small bakery, the smell aroma of bread and sweets still sticking to the air inside. One small inhale of the aroma made her stomach gurgle for a bit, enticing the girl to further drive her into committing the act of theft. She wasn't there for the money, but it surely did help. A small safe inside the office that she broke into was first, nearly ripping out the small hatch door before heading into the refrigerator units for the prize. Rolls of french baguettes, sweet rolls, readied to eat sandwiches with a few cartons of milk were the really important stuff. Water was the essential among the other items on her mental list as she came to ransack the entire place for the goodies. She rushed, stumbled over herself, whatever it took to get what she needed fast enough, even if meant losing a few items, to avoid the necessity of hurting the people who would come investigating the situation.
Alarms were already going off. The people who were close by would definitely come looking to see what was going on. All that attention including reports to the authorities were going to bring a lot of attention in a few heart beats. Elke had to hurry and run with what she had already on her. There wasn't enough time really to haul everything that she wanted to get her hands on, so she had to take off with what little food and refreshments that she was able nab. The glass splintered under her feet, joint by a short series of snap, crackle, and pop with scurried movements over the opening she recently made. Who knew that there were burglars who stole mainly food than that of actual money?
Two bags, double bagged, and in both hands, Elke is really a good thief in some way. Yogi Bear eat your heart out. She didn't go for a whole picnic basket but two...three bags of food and drinks that would hopefully keep her well suited for a bit until she has to do it again. The sirens were already coming, about a mile away with their flaring lights closing in. Elke vanished onto the street going up adjacent to the Bakery, she ran up with shuffling sounds of plastic ruffling with every strode she took panning right then left. She couldn't afford to let herself get caught, and even if she was, it wouldn't end well for those that did catch up. Police she could handle to a degree, just hoping that was all that was chasing her.
