Luca forgot how much his face burned, just as he forgot to be afraid. His parry was a success, but he knew better than to count it as a victory until this girl was down. Something seemed odd to Luca though. Why was this girl suddenly telegraphing her attacks? One couldn't get more obvious than an overhead strike. What was stranger was why she was attempting such an attack with a scalpel? Something was wrong here. Luca wasn't about to be fooled. She was getting closer and closer to him, but why? Her teeth were bared, and suddenly Luca knew. He knew in the way one did in fighting.
If she bit him, he was done for. He'd effectively be grappled, and she could stab him until he was dead. Luca wasn't going to let that happen. His specialty was in pole-arms, not his fists, but that wouldn't stop him. With her abundant supply of knives, he couldn't afford long term contact with her. Luca quickly attempted a throat punch to stop her, hopefully knocking the wind out of her. If it did, he would immediately follow it up with an attempt to bludgeon the top of her head with the flat of his shovel. If she wasn't immobilized, he would use soul command on the concrete to quickly attempt to regain distance.

The two were neck and neck, literally. Only a few inches from the neck she was ready to snack on as the man diverted his attention away from the scapel and targeted the new threat. His actions proven faster, and that was all that she needed to put her into place. Suddenly, a shot of air plunged out of her mouth and nose. An injection of bone and flesh making contact with that of her throat, the side of it as being clearly vulnerable. All the air she had coming in was immediately shot out with a crippling wheeze that was forcing what was left out, then back inwards. Her vision had split into two, the right side of her vision going black. The numbing throb made it so hard to breath and focus as it rooted the pain into her collar and head. She was starting to black out from the lack of oxygen. However...
Given the moment to prepare his shovel to lay the flat surface against her head, she utilized the moment. The force applied into his punch pushed her off to his right, directing her body to follow the flow of force. Almost limp from the lack of air and pain, her affinity to ignore pain was mustered up. It wasn't strong, but enough to shrug off jolt she felt against her throat. Suddenly, a sharp pain would splinter along the man's side as it would drag for an inch down towards the front. A closer look would be that of the scapel she still carried.
The force of his punch would come to push her to her left, toppling weakly to her left foot. Yet when doing so her right arm would come back into his general direction. She didn't need to target a vital area, nor needed to keep herself balance. Nope. She just needed to stay close to him for a moment. That moment came when the shovel was about to come down onto her head. The scapel would have made its mark beneath the man's left armpit, then dragged down into the ribs as the hammering blow of his shovel found its mark over her head. *Wham* Everything was turning black quickly, still feeling the clinging weight of the man's side as her body weight came down to the floor, and dragging the blade with her with a heavy tug. Only an inch would have been made before the blade would come to leave the body, and fall off to the side of the girl's head.
She didn't have enough resistance to maintain let alone fight off another blow. Not to the head at least, as there was very little time to recover for a bit. It was one then the other that came and took the light from her eyes. However, it was well worth it. The last thing she saw before the darkness taking her, was the man's feet pulling back and making some distance. But, she couldn't tell anymore. And fell into the forced sleep.

The throat punch was a long shot. Yet it worked as well as any HEMA maneuver. The plan was still a one-two knock out. Slam her fucking head in, and he'd win. He brought his offhand to his shovel. Suddenly, a stabbing pain exploded into his left side. Luca howled in pain. Yet he had to stop her. He had to win, and so with both hands, he slammed his shovel into her head. She fell like a ton of bricks, even as she did, her blade was dragged with her.
Still feeling the pain, he jumped back. She stared at her unconscious body until it finally occurred to him that she wasn't getting back up. "You crazy bitch!". As the adrenaline faded Luca realized how much his wounds really hurt. Putting his shovel up he had one hand on his side, and another on his face. He sure as shit wasn't going to the hospital. Like a real vigilante, he had to find some way to patch himself up off the books. The girl on the other hand...
Her heart was beating, but that was the extent of Luca's medical knowledge. He reached for his phone to call an ambulance, but that would give his location to the authorities, even if he fled the scene. That's when he remembered, there was still a payphone a few blocks away. No matter if she tried to stab him, Luca wasn't going to leave the girl to die. He ran as fast as his wounds would let him. Placing some coins in it, he called an ambulance to the vague area for a "girl bleeding out". Though he was told to stay on the line, he did the opposite. He had to get out of there.
No matter what, Luca wasn't landing in legal trouble because of the girl. He was a member of Uzaki Enterprises. Surely that would afford him some sway with his contacts. Ducking through alleyways before looking at his phone, he realized he had no idea what to do next. It wasn't a good position to be in. There was one thing though that was something of a silver lining. He won.
