Rin felt a surge of emotions well up inside her when she saw Ranth. Seeing him pull the dagger out himself and slump against the wall in his tired victory of winning one over his assailant made her sigh with relief momentarily. If that was him… Rin didn’t know what she would do if it was Ranth laying there on the floor instead. Scream. Cry. Lose her mind maybe. Who knows? Knowing what she felt for him and how strongly she felt for him, she didn’t know. All she knew was that she was glad it wasn’t him.. and she didn’t feel a shred of remorse or guilt for the feeling. Sure there was a dead man and killing was wrong… but better Ranth than him, ne?
She could see clearly that he’d been the victim. When he looked at her, she felt as though that very same dagger that pierced him in the shoulder was plunged through her heart. If she’d woken up just a moment sooner this all could have been avoided and she cursed herself for it. “I’m so sorry.” She whispered, pulling him in closer to embrace her as he’d sob. “I’m here.” She’d continue to reassure him for a moment before noticing his wound. She noticed the way he looked and him closing his eyes. “Rin, what the hell.” She spun around to see one very pissed off Sho who focused on both Rin and Ranth. She motioned her head to the dead body on the ground.
“He attacked Ranth. Why else would we be in his room?” She asked pointedly. She could see Sho glaring at her to which she would glare back. It was rare for him to get this way. The way Sho looked at Ranth was especially unnerving. It was with disgust but Rin wouldn’t understand why or even attempt to. Eventually, he’d relent. “You know where the first aid kit is.” He motioned his head outside and she’d pull Ranth to his feet, letting his good arm slump around her as she’d pull him and exit his now torn room while Sho would handle the rest.
She’d pull him into her own room, having him sit in her bed and switching her light on. “Wake up.” She demanded as she grabbed his face, angling it to look at her panic stricken face. “If you fade on me from blood loss, I will never forgive you.” With that she darted out of the room quickly fetching the first aid kit and returning. “I’m here. I’m not leaving you.” She’d pop open the kit and begun helping him take his shirt off. “Now.. I may not know much about healing Kido but I know a few things about stab wounds and cuts..” She’d begin to clean his wound as she spoke, hopefully keeping him up. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there sooner darling. You didn’t deserve to go through that.” She briefly looked up at him as she’d carefully work around it.
“Can you forgive this Empress?” She asks as she pressed something with an antiseptic properly against his wound that would undoubtedly sting like hell. Quickly, she’d hold him, and blow lightly on the wound before looking up at him with pleading amber irises. Her cheeks were red as she’d suddenly gotten nervous. Whether it was because she was fearful of his answer, the fact that she was so close to him or all of the above was anyone’s guess. “As your Empress, I solemnly swear to never leave your side.” She looked at him with determination. She was making a promise and she was intending to keep it. She’d finish patching him up and cleaning everything thing up.
“A-And as your Empress..” She’d fumble around nervously, stealing glances of him. “I-I uhm..” The words were difficult to formulate and her heart beat wildly. “I d-demand!” She gulped as her cheeks turned red and her face felt hot. It was such a simple statement but her feelings for the hurt man whom she’d attempted to patch up were excellent at getting in the way and she couldn’t help but feel all choked up with butterflies inside. Feeling especially frustrated with herself, the Empress pouted and spat out what she wished. “I demand that you sleep here. W-With me.” She flipped her hair and angrily took a pillow and propped his head up so that he’d be comfortable. “If you leave, I definitely won’t forgive you.” With that, she turned off the light and stomped off to the other side of the bed and huffed with her back to him. After a solid minute, she'd turn to face him with a small sleepy smile. “Goodnight, Ranth.”
