The wilderness is vast and full of life. So much so that it call be called its own nation by right. Many among the Beastclan clung to the wilderness as it served as a natural environment for them. Mountains, trees, the ground, the sky, and that of the lakes that remained, mostly untouched by Human hands. This was the perfect place for them to remain and enact the cycle of nature was to run its course over time. But, when Humans often get too close, desiring to spread, it is often met with hostility; more or less what came about with Ippin and her lake. Fish and other animals were becoming more and more scarce in the area. Hell, even the land animals too were becoming rare to spot along the edges of her lake. The same lake that the Naga had taken her to, and has yet to return. She waited for his return, along with those that were grouped with him. But each day was the same; silent.
Humans come around to still pay their offerings as they had before, but usually met with angry tentacles wanting to drag them under. Or the other Beastclan members that were foreign to the area, and wanted to secure the land for themselves. She met one other Beast, a White Tiger. He came to claim her lake as his own, and did so successfully. However, even he did not return to fulfill his oath. No outside food being brought in to the area. Things were beginning to look dire. The Sun was beginning to claim it's highest point in the day, casting shadows of the trees to its intended direction to the West. A better time to be moving before the water would begin to turn hot in her journey. She knew the time will eventually come when she had to leave the domain of the lake. She knew she would have to, though not wanting to admit to herself either. There was no food anymore, and she would eventually die of starvation, or by the Humans she would venture out to devour. They will come for her life, and take it soon after. It was time to leave.
There was no other way around it. She ran out of food, and time will certainly come for her to decide to die, or attack the Human village again for food. The Humans in Black Robes will come in greater numbers than before, and this time will surely kill her. So, as she saw it, she didn't have a choice if she wanted to live. And so, she did. Using the largest river that branched into the lake, Ippin ran her course. It was big enough to keep a large portion of her body submerged, and keep her hydrated. That was the most important thing she needed to do during her travels. Her body pushed, and pulled along her tendrils, to help direct her body underwater to where she wanted to go. The first ridge came up as the current pushed against her body. She had to leap over it, building up speed and command the full use of her physical strength to push herself out of the water, and into the stream.
The difference between the lake and the river was obvious. A consistent moving flow of water compared to a still body of water. This would make for a good workout if not for how hungry the girl already was. Luckily, there would be plenty of Fish to munch on. However, she didn't see any. The body of water she occupied during her steady climb up the stream lacked any Fish at all. Coming to rest on a boulder ahead, she came to survey the land. Animals definitely came by to drink, but that was all. When she came to pop out of the water to see what was going on, they would scamper away. Plus, if she planned to hunt some of the wild life that came close to the river, then she would need to anchor herself down hard and wait until they drew close. The only issue with that was the strength needed to keep herself in place for those long periods of waiting. She didn't have that.
The last meal she had was a day ago in the morning. Just some small Fishes that she managed to find at the bottom of the lake. Not a whole lot as she assumed they were the last of the wild life in the lake. Possibly eating the few remaining in the ecosystem. There was truly nothing left there at the lake, and seemingly nothing on its way to help to revitalize it either. She had to press on. The next day came along, and Ippin already made some head way. Coming across a central hub it seemed where a large river branched out into streams and other routes of flooding water, such as her own river. Though, what sort of hub she came across was something she didn't expect, and would explain as to why little life was coming to the lake. Members among the Beastclan were constructing a dam like body around the hub. Wooden barricades that were put together to act as a damn, allowing little Fish to proceed evenly to all the other routes. Only few managed to slip through the gaps in the structure, but a majority would be caught in it, and helpless as the Beastclan came to feed on them.
There were dozens. At least three dozen if she counted right. All of the them looking remarkable as the Naga that brought her to the lake, though, a few of them seemingly of a smaller stature, while five were twice their size. Quite possibly leaders of the entire group. Ippin winced at the sight of them, and to their gorging of the Fish and other life forms that lingered in the area. This would put a large scarcity among the the Humans, and to other forms of life in the region. If nothing was done about them, then they would surely expire. She had to do something about them. She had to get rid of them. But before she could even move about, she saw them turn their heads to a direction opposite of her. They were drawn to something. But what?
